But yeah standard rules of TMI. Ask me anything.

It's been a while since I've done one of these so hell I guess I'll do another.
And I feel like answering questions about whatever it is you want to ask me about me, or my characters or whatever really.

I got myself curious.
The question I've got for you today is "What is my art trademark?".
That is, what is my art's defining feature? What makes it stand out from others'?

Preferably without using the word, or words synonymous with 'cute'.
Because believe me, I get that a lot.

Every now and then I get a note asking if I do commissions. The answer I give 100% of the time is along the lines of "No, I do not. Sorry."
9 times out of 10 they'll respond with "Why not? You're really good!". I appreciate the kind words, but that won't change my mind. I DO NOT do commissions. And I never will. I have my reasons, which is what I'm sharing with you today.

I've always drawn as a way to unwind or express my feelings. Mostly because it's just something I like to do. People always tell me that I should open up some commissions. I refuse. Reason being is that I hate taking money from people. And as soon as money becomes a factor in something I enjoy doing as a hobby, it becomes not fun. I get anxious and start second guessing myself. Worrying about small things like "Is this good enough?" "Will this person like how this turned out?" "What if they don't?" "Is this worth the money they paid?" "No, this isn't good enough..". That causes me so much anxiety and headaches that I'd just want to stop. I'd not want to do it anymore. At that point, art becomes something that's not fun. And if something you enjoy is not fun, then what's the point of doing it at all?

I'm also very picky about who I do art trades with. I can't really explain why, but all I know is that if your style doesn't interest me, I'm sorry, but I'll probably not do a trade with you. There's a lot of other factors there, but I don't really want to get into that, but there's similar reasons as to why I'm picky about trades and why I don't do commissions.

A long time ago, before I was on DA, FA and whatnot, I drew quite a bit. It was fun and I liked doing it. Eventually I fell into a bout of depression and drawing felt like a pointless waste of time. After that, I didn't draw anything for over a year. I eventually got back into it. It was around the time I discovered art sites like DA. I've made some good friends ever since then and if it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't be drawing today.

That's why I don't do commissions.
That's why I'm picky about trades.
I want drawing to be fun, not tedious. I'm doing everything in my power to prevent that depression from coming back.
That's why.

Might as well put it here too, because hey. I like to character.

So it's an 8 facts of a character thing and I dunno I thought I'd share it over here too.
Friend said to do it for Canvas so I did.

1. Canvas has a huge sweet tooth. She also lacks the willpower to decline anything sweet when the opportunity presents itself. Hide your candy bowls.
2. Obviously, Canvas is very comfortable with her nudity. However she does respect that others might not be. As such she's only naked in the privacy of her own home, or where it's socially acceptable. She will never ask if it's okay to take her clothes off, also. That would be awkward for everyone involved.
3. Canvas has a brother. She doesn't talk about him much.
4. Canvas' nudity stems from her belief that you shouldn't be ashamed of who you are.
5. She also hates doing laundry. So that might have something to do with it.
6. Canvas is 21.
7. Canvas' design was mostly inspired by Amaterasu from Okami. It's a good game go play it.
8. That isn't her natural hair colour.

I don't know why, but a few times in the past I've been referred to as a girl.
I'm not offended or anything, I just find it funny how that is.

So that got me thinking.. who around here thought I was a girl at first?
I'm curious.

First of all, I want to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday since I'm too lazy to thank people individually because HKHECHK.

Birthday was good and stuff. Haven't drawn anything for myself (at least not yet).
Some giftart here and there, which I appreciate greatly because you really didn't have to.

And as some of you may remember this was the day my grandpa died a year ago, so that started a tradition where everyone takes a shot of what was his favourite whiskey. So that was something worth mentioning I guess.
