If you're a social media type, Bluesky has been showing itself to be a favorite among furries lately. I usually post art and updates there first anyways, since it's easier to do on mobile.

He ran the helm of FurAffinity through good times and bad. The decisions he made over the years showed his humanity, and he seemed to act on best intentions from the position he was in. Controversial or no, absolutely he cared for the community. How he passed away was terrible.

I only ever knew him by name. I am grateful for this website he had helped maintain. I would not be the person I would be today without a place like this.

We'll all be gone someday, and who knows when. Our faces will blur in time, and we will fade back into the world from which we came.

So. Make the best of your time living. Cherish those you love and the things you like doing. Be kind to others.

One stares into the endless eyes of time. One half-lids at the soft swirls of the temporal stream. It's hypnotic. It's routine.
And when one comes to, they're still themselves, but older. Through many, many awakenings, they find themselves changed.

Anyways, it's my birthday today. It's late at night, too, so... time to get contemplative.

It's through this community, through this art, that I've gone places in life.

I'm not happy every day... But, I'm not sad every day, either. The people and the art in my life keep me centered. For all of that, I am grateful.

And to you who read this. For those that come by and enjoy the little things I make: thank you for your support. I share with you little blips of emotion; some silly ideas; a well of weird kinks. Tiny pieces of weirdness.

I hope to continue to do so.

I'm not one to post public journals these days. Usually my thoughts and ramblings are dropped into Discord, or less occasionally, Twitter. (Follow me there, if you'd like. I post everything there first, because it's easier to do: https://twitter.com/Mewscaper .) But all the same - here's an update on some topics!

1. Gallery Folders
There's not much to it. I've more-or-less organized some gallery folders, for your browsing pleasure. If you have a suggestion for folder topics, feel free to share.

2. Art
I've done a few years of low output, low inspiration, and doing other life things. Now, I've gotten pretty heavily back into art this year. Getting a monitor tablet and new drawing software has helped, but especially playing tabletop games like Pathfinder and D&D has really inspired my imagination. It's gotten me motivated to draw again, and you can view some scenes and doodles I sometimes do of our fantasy adventures over on Twitter.

So far, this year is shaping up to being my highest output of finished art projects yet. I will do my best to keep this momentum going.

3. Future Projects
Speaking of art, for a little while, I've done a transformation-themed single-page comic or sequence every Tuesday or so, for "#TFTuesday." This probably won't be sustainable to do for every week, but I did it mainly to practice comic layouts. In the next year or so, I'd like to work on and complete a full original one-shot comic, ranging about 20-to-32 pages. It'll be a standalone story, and although I haven't yet finalized what narrative or theme, it likely will have transformation and cute critters in it. (Of course it will. I enjoy it~)

In the meantime, I'll continue practicing with single comic pages, different character types, and composition. And also:

4. Doing Commissions
I've gotten some questions about this and have given it some thought. I've decided I will once again begin accepting commissions on a limited, rolling queue, for those interested. I'll release a new pricing guide and terms sometime in September.

5. Thank You
I do this art, writings, and little projects for fun. These are subjects and themes that I enjoy and would like to share. It's fulfilling, on a personal creative level.

It's also pleasing to me to see other people enjoy these works, give their support, and share ideas and creations of their own. Enjoyment to go around, while we can.

So for those who've been around, old and new, here-and-there, come and gone and-back again, thank you! Thank you for your idea sharing and support!

It was my birthday today. =w= It was a quiet, contemplative day. I pottered about my backyard, tended to my garden herbs, spent time with my bunny partner.

Also, I gave some thought, and decided to give a rundown of the last year. I guess it's already kind of chronologued on Twitter? But a lot of y'all don't use it, and who knows what'll happen, so here it is anyway.

Suited a bunch at the one convention I attended this year. It was in late February. Texas Furry Fiesta. That was fun. Saw a lot of nice people. Little bits of memory.

And then 2020 did what 2020 did.

Anyways, I also changed jobs from my company of five years to a new place. Took an opportunity for slightly better compensation, a better work structure, and a more spacious office space.

Weird I've ended up drawing for a living. Not the sort of drawings I'd like to do, being mechanical design and blueprints, but still... Since transferring to that department of my trade in early 2019, I've been off-and-on how I've felt about it. I had entered an office setting. It doesn't get my enthusiasm and blood going like it did when I worked in field trades construction. But since changing companies, I think I'm starting to adjust to it. Who knows, I may even begin to like it.

There's also been delving my time into physical fitness, some herb gardening, and Dungeons & Dragons. Keeping the home. Enjoying my time with friends and family and let's face it my friends are family too. Being responsible in the current environment.

So, uh, nyah. That's about it. Not wholly detailed, and there was probably other stuff too. But it helps to write out contemplations. Thanks for reading if you did. =w=
