Dakimakura Cover misprint & Store Sale & Game Announcement

Hello, Vilous Fans!
As some of you may be aware, we ran into some difficulties with the most recent wave of dakimakura covers that were being printed. In short, we had an uncanningly large number of misprints and general lack of quality in the covers that were delivered, but not to worry! Our manufacturer is fixing this and will get us a corrected order of dakimakuras as soon as possible......which unfortunately may not be for a short time. Our third wave should ship out by the end of February, all fingers, claws and talons crossed! Our deepest apologies to everyone who has been waiting and didn't receive a notice of this unforeseen setback.
As you might have noticed, we put the misprint dakis up for sale at a 69% discount which can be found in the link below. Second, the Official Sergal Reference is now available, in both free and deluxe formats. Third, we have an important partnership to announce!
We have reached an agreement with Fek, and Sergals will be a featured race in Rack 2.0! Of course, the game is strictly out of canon, but this marks the first time Sergals have been officially licensed into an indie game! We hope all of you have fun playing as sergals in Rack 2!

Upcoming Gallery Purging
Posted 8 years agoAt the moment I don't like some of my old artworks.
Nowadays they are not worth the mental issues they gave me, even making me dislike drawing.
I've been thinking of how to make drawing enjoyable for years and, maybe the method I'll describe today can do it. It may not solve the problem but I need to try it.
The idea is to do something like deleting everything I've uploaded to FA until now or to replace it with a very small image, just leaving the comments. Then, to only reupload the works I would like to keep showing.
The purging will start on the 9th of February. Please understand.

Vilous webcomic winter break notice
Posted 8 years agoDuring the New Year's holidays, December 29th to January 1st (Japan timezone), the author will take a break from the comic to spend time with her family. The comic will resume on Saturday 7th.

漫画の連載を始めることができたので、我輩はとても嬉しい。BrainDumpのtodoリストも半分（30個）に減らすことができた。作業に慣れるとイラストへのとりかかりが少し楽になるのも良い。しかしIH調理器やコンピュータが壊れたり、車のパーツを交換したので少し家計が苦しくなった。面白い漫画を描いてお客さんいっぱい・・になりたいです。ｹﾌ。

I'm very happy I could begin working on the Vilous Manga. I've completed half of my Brain Dump to-do list (30 items) and it has become easier to start illustrating as I get used to work. However, my computer and IH cooker broke and I had to change car parts, so my home finances had to suffer somewhat. I hope drawing a good manga can get me... a lot of customers. *KEF* (Cracked's cry).

やる気がでなくて全ての行動が緩慢になっているので、
googleで解決策を探したところ、頭の中のやるべき事リストを紙に全て書き出す方法（brain dump）を見つけた。
出来る限り書き出すと、吾輩の脳内のタスクは６１個あって、
全部、破棄できない事ばかりだったので、これは書かないと自分が動けなくなるなぁと感じた。
特に、「歯科へ行って虫歯を治療する」ことは最優先なのに後回しにし続けて、
虫歯は治らないし常に虫歯のことを考えているので苦しみが大きい。
歯科へ行くために車で二時間半くらいかかるのも理由のひとつ・・明日には予約を入れたい。
今日は最初に５つのタスクをやってチェックをいれた。この日記を書くのが５個目。

When I began writing everything, I had 61 tasks inside my head; and since almost all of them were things I couldn't discard, when I don't write them I feel I become immobile. Particularly, "going to the dentist to have my cavities treated" was of maximum priority but I keep postponing it, and the cavities go untreated, and since I'm constantly thinking of it the pain is big.
It takes about 2 hours and a half to go by car to the dentist, that's also one of the reasons...
I want to make a reservation tomorrow.
Today, I checked off the first five tasks I did. Writing this diary was the 5th one.
It seems I'll need to do a brain dump every two weeks. I also decided to write a diary every ~2 weeks, so I plan to write the next one the same way as well.

実際のところ、斬新なアイデアを作り出すよりもリアリティや繊細な描画を追い求めるほうが好きだし得意だ。
だからスケッチをチームに任せて仕上げに専念できることが非常に嬉しい。
長年アートを志してわかったことだが、吾輩の個性は個人的な造形の趣味嗜好の域を出ることができない。
姿形をつくるのは得意でも、ポーズやシーンやキャラクターの心理などは不得意ということ。

Looking at Vilous' personal characters and art, people may think that I'm a person brimming with originality but, actually, compared to dreaming up new ideas, I prefer the creation of intricate, realistic paintings. That's what I'm good at. That's why entrusting the team with the sketches, letting me focus entirely on the finishing touches, makes me really happy.
Despite long years of intending to understand art, I can't get out of my preferred style and interests. Form and shape are my forte, but things like poses, scenery and character emotions are my weakness. So even though I made the design of sergals and other creatures, to expand the world from there I need to take a step further. That's why, collaborating with the Vilous team I push for division of labor.
Today, I couldn't do the work I had to do. I don't have enough energy for various activities and I always feel sleepy. Kiki told me, "thinking rationally, it's better to take a day off than to work forcibly". Certainly I agree. In some ways even now I cling to thoughts like "if you don't work you don't get to live," I want to get rid of that. If I don't stop thinking about it, I know my body will be unable to work, I heard it's been proven scientifically but, getting those fixations out of my head is difficult; because nothing seems to build a sense of security.
While I take time to rest, the team sells various goods, letting me make a living.
I can barely imagine their reasons and motives concretely, and I feel sorry to inconvenience them, but the team seems to want me to recover. This is a very mysterious thing I am grateful for.

After many conversations about Vilous and meetings with the team, plenty of progress was made and I'm very satisfied. My manager too could enjoy a colorful stay in my home (which is very close to nature in a remote place); coordination with the team went smoothly, and my mind and body are getting better, I'm happy about that. As you may have noticed, my profile has been summarized and now includes links to my and my team’s new contact address to make your Vilous questions, contact (at) vilous (.) net. Also, we have launched the Vilous portal.
But that's not all!
As planned, Rain's dakimakura has entered its pre-ordering stage.
We asked your opinion in March about what you would prefer to see, and we listened. But to sell a dakimakura we first needed a store, which we are now pleased to announce. Here you can pre-order our brand new Rain dakimakura, or other Vilous-themed stuff which we will be gradually adding to the store. We selected the first items (T-shirts) based on your feedback on our last poll, and many of you said armored Rain would make for a good dakimakura, so this version is also available for pre-order. We will be adding more products based on your feedback over time.
On other news, we are promoting Vilous’ official Twitter to stay in touch with our updates and announcements. If you have Twitter, remember to follow us there.
I would also like to remind people that I’m revitalizing activity on my Patreon, with frequent uploads both in the sketch and color categories. You’ll soon be able to see a small version of Rain’s Dakimakura picture over there. I have also added a new tier, it’s full of very personal sketches, of the “adult” variety, that I was hesitant to share; if you really want to see them, there’s that new tier in Patreon for you.
