FA seems to be working properly now. And guess what? I got my site up and running at last. http://kyrodianlegends.com/ in case anyone forgot the site name. There'll be more to come soon. I'll still be maintaining this page, but my best works will be kept on my site.

Even on PC, I keep getting random images instead of pages, and sometimes I get javascript code or the page is made of just plain text and links with no colors or images. I've already tried several times to post this journal and every time, I got either one of the ads or an icon of a hard drive. I've scanned both my machines and cleared my data, and nothing got better. I've also heard a few others have had this problem, but for me, it's chronic. The site is unusable for me. I can't deal with it anymore. If anyone wants to reach me, text, email or IM me. I will not be checking this journal for comments.

I was deleting messages from my inbox, and when I hit the remove checked button, instead of going back to the page, it showed an image with slanted text that read "Do you like having funny things in your ear?" What is this?!

There's another Cloud Chasers, and it's been around for a good while! Why is it every time I come up with a good name, it's always TAKEN?! *puts face into a pillow and screams* After all the hard work I put into it, and even made that awesome logo, now I have to come up with a new name? This isn't fair! I'm sick of having to come up with names! I suck at it! And ever good name I find, someone else is already using it! I'm at my wits end with this. I DON'T WANT TO FIND ANOTHER NAME!

Some positive news for a change.

Still studying SDL, but I picked up Cloud Chasers again because I've recently been re-inspired and had to get back on it. I tried to balance the combat out better. First off, you can't just willy nilly throw bombs anymore, you have to charge Midi's energy first, then you can throw the bomb. If you let go before the bomb charges, it slowly discharges instead of instantly losing stored energy, just in case your finger slips off the key or something, you can pick up and keep charging again. There will be an equipment system to increase charge speed, attack, defense, and other variables.

I also changed the beginning of the story as well as the relationships of certain main characters because the one I had earlier just seemed too contrived. I came up with a more believable setup, but aside from the beginning, it's pretty much the same.

I'll be programming enemies next. While working on them, I'll be fighting at the lowest level until I get equipment and leveling up done. When you level up, health and energy increase, but the rest of the stats are equipment-based, like in Solatorobo.

A combat video will be recorded once I have a couple different enemies completed. Thanks for sticking with me guys. See y'all soon!

For years now, I have been bouncing back and forth between one idea and another, never satisfied with what I've made, always changing amd restarting. For too long I have delayed and procrastinated, and whenever I made some bit of progress, I'd tear the whole thing down and start from scratch. Well, guess what? This is the last time I'm doing that. Because I'm done. I'm tired of being the way I am, and it's time I do something about it. *picks up a noose... and then eats it* Mmm, fiber.

Anywho, yes, I am going to do one last big change: give up on Cloud Chasers. Only temporarily. I don't have a good focus on it and to be honest, I haven't figured out what I really want from it. I've got so many fragmented story arcs in my head that I need to take some time and really think it over, and in the meantime, pick back up on my studies so that when I do have things figured out, I can make it awesome.

I don't feel I've wasted any time though. Through this whole thing, my skills have improved, I have more resources than I started, and I have made good friends I know I can rely on. This whole ordeal is a learning experiece, and now it's time to rest and meditate on what I've learned... by the way, does anyone even bother with that luck stat? Oh well, who cares? I'm making my own luck!

I'm still writing the story for the time being because it makes for a good rough draft. During that, I want people to give feed back and ask lots of questions, becajse if I have questions and I answer them, it can help develop the story, so please, ask questions!

OK, so a while back, I got into AVGN and Nostalgia Critic, and wanted to do my own review show. I called it the Anthroview, a mix of the words anthro and review, obviously. I even told a couple friends about this back then. Then I figured that name sounded stupid and decided I should come up with another name. Nothing came to mind. Then just recently, what do I see on FA's ad banner? Anthroview. Even spelled the same way. I thought "Damn it! I should have kept that!" So let this be a lesson to you all. If you come up with something and aren't sure if it'll work, keep it anyway. Otherwise, someone else will do it and make you feel like an idiot. That is all.

Eeyup, and I feel blonde for not simply doing this in the first place. I just copied the whole solution folder and renamed it all. Easy peasy. I can make SDL stuff again now. Still using GM to make CC though, but just for now. When I finish, I shall study SDL full tilt, and you will all see me on the nD, baby! BOOYAH! Also means games for Mac and Linux, cuz they don't have enough. ^^

Small update: several users on mobile devices (smartphones, tablets) requested we move/relocate the logout button on the site to help prevent accidental mis-clicks We've added a new prompt which now asks users to verify if they want to log out This should help prevent any accidenta logouts going forward

Did you see that? They specifically said that the users requested one thing and got something completely different. And this right here is a whole new brand of half-assery. You know moving the log out button would have literally taken less than ten seconds. Cut the code from here, paste it there, done. But no! They gotta go and write a whole new piece of code to confirm if we want to log out instead, and guess what? This new prompt DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK! Sometimes it dies not pop up. This really pisses me off, because instead of simply doing what they were asked which woukd have been simpler and worked as it was expected, they gotta make a big deal of it, go about it the long way, and put out a result that does not solve the issue, it only covers it up. A simple problem, and they make a mountain out of a molehill. Congratulations, FA, you are now run by the American government.

I have decided I am definitely making CC an adventire game instead of an RPG. Honestly, I get bored playing RPGs, even strategy ones don't last long with me. I'm not going to make a game that I would get bored not even halfway in. So yeah, Zelda style, controlling Midi and Trey. I'll just figure sokething else out for Sophie. Keeping the quests and other things, just not doing an RPG. That is all.

I am opening up 8 slots for FREE SPRITES! Here's the catch, it's one sheet per user, and it's an NPC level Cloud Chasers sheet. That's a four frame, eight direction walking sheet. You can also opt to have your sprite make a cameo in the game. Your character may have a contract (quest) the players can accept, or just have a line of dialogue if you'd rather be a normal NPC. The town you appear in will be randomly chosen, though you can pick to live in a treehouse or cave if you want to, or have a place where you work.

If you choose to make a quest, it must be short and be kept PG. I'm only taking 8 requests right now to try this out, but the extras you see down there are people who already reserved spots.

I HATE SDL!!!!!! I got each compiler to work ONCE, and then never again. I have one project that I can compile, but when I follow the exact setup instructions by the letter, making a carbon copy of the project, it fails. The code isn't the problem. It's the projects. Or maybe it's just me. I can't think of anything. I've looked at every single aspect of this thing, checked and rechecked and rerere-fucking-REchecked that everything was exactly the same, and still, only the one will compile. I am at a loss.
