An art lib is like a mad lib, but with pictures and dialogue. What you do is replace certain words in a script with your own material and then draw the cartoon. So, here is my art lib script that I dare you guys to try!

Char1: Hey, Char2, look what I verbed!
(Char1 holds up noun to Char2.)
Char2: Exclaimation! Why is that noun so unfitting adjective?

You know when you create a level, it asks you for a seed? What is that? I've entered numbers, hex values, words, everything I can think of, and all I get is a beach beside a forest, every single time. Even when I leave it blank.

It used to be that I get completely random biomes. The very first map I ever had was this really cool bunch of islands with volcanoes, and one island had a giant archway like thing. Then, as the updates came in, new levels started to all look the same. My old maps got deleted because of MC's retarded auto save. Now all I can make is a dumb tiny beach by a forest. Where did the variety go?

Can someone please explain this to me?

My computer is gone. Indefinitely. Maybe forever. So why doesn't this bother me? Because it's my fault. Because I'm irresponsible, lazy, give into distractions too easy, entirely unfocused and unmotivated, I have no pride in what I do, thus my lack of effort in everything I do, and I use my disability as a crutch rather than face it and man up. This is who I really am. If anyone sees me IRL, it won't be at a con, it'll be at a halfway house. Oh and no comp means no art, so everything is cancelled. Everything.

I've been meaning to post this, but anyway, I have come up with a better way to determine sprite commission prices. It's a simple mathematical expression based on the dimensions of the final product. For every 16x16 pixel block, it costs 50 for an 8-bit sprite (GBA), or 25 for a 2-bit sprite (NES). However, I won't be charging for empty space surrounding the sprite, so for more precise pricing, I use this:

(basePrice / 256) * (width * height * numberOfFrames);

The variable basePrice is 50 or 25, depending on image bitage. The other three variables are determined by the commissioner. Now you might be wondering about RPG sprites. With all those frames, they'd get expensive, right? Well, only if your character is assymetrical, which would require me to draw both sides. But for simple mirroring or rotations, there's no cost at all. Same goes for any other frames that may be duplicated. For instance, Pokemon has a "middle" frame in its running and walking sprites that appears twice. I would only charge once for a frame like this. So even after the estimate, you may end up paying less than expected.

Now, as for sprite styles I'm not used to, I might not be able to until I've practiced them, because I want to ensure quality. However, I am willing to discuss possibly making up a style for you. Also, I'm still not that great, so high detail sprites are likely a no-go. I'll do my best, but if I can't get it to look right, well, you know. If it doesn't work out, I'll give you whatever I got done at no cost.

Now, don't start placing orders just yet. I still have a lot going on in my life that's sapping my will to draw, but I'll let you guys know when I feel ready. Also gonna make a Flash app that will be used to get commission estimates on everything I offer.

I picked the worst time to open for requests. I've had no drive to draw lately, since I started watching my grandfather. That and what free time I've had lately has been spent studying and coding. I WILL do all the requests I got while I was open, but until I can clear my head, ALL art is going on the back burner. My sincerest apologies to everyone.
