Rumours Meme +
General | Posted 19 years agoI gotta know if I've become widely known enough to garner some rumours. I also would like to know how far my art has spread. Where have you seen it aside from my galleries. Don't worry I'm okay with it spreading around :)
Job Hunting Sux
General | Posted 19 years agoBah, I hate job hunting. There's nothing here in canada. If you've got any leads on 3d animator/modeller positions I'm always open. I also do UI desing, compositing, editing, VFX, flash animation, graphic design and art (of course) :D
Might as well use every avenue I've got.
I'm not hard up for money, I just need a place of employ so I can move out. Hard to work on furry art when I'm at home you see :P

General | Posted 19 years agoWrote this on macrophile.com and just decided to post here too. Inevitably someone asks why the whole "furry" thing and here's my theory. I should probably reread it or something but here ya go :D
The "furry" or more accurately "anthropomorph" is a symbol we construct upon which it is easier to project our fantasies and ideals of perfection.
The anthro to begin with was designed for the purpose of being a symbol. The egyptian gods are frequently referred to as being the first real anthros. However the egyptian gods are built upon earlier symbols. The animals were selected to illustrate aspects of divinity, in other words the things people saw as being part of a perfect being/person.
In early animation the anthro form was taken because it is easier to project upon than a distinct human character. It's personality and design are reflected in its appearance and allows the viewer to fill in any gaps as they themselves see fit.
A "furry" person however is a person that has found a need or found it preferable to project themselves upon the symbol of their choosing. Some people use it as an escape and project a large part of their own ego onto the figure whereas others will take a less extreme approach and apply features that they see as representative of divinity.
Taking it a step further and adressing the sexual aspect; a person can easily project their ego onto a symbol as well as any ideal as I've stated earlier. This applies as well for sexual ideals. The most desirable aspects in terms of sexual gratification are accentuated and most clearly imagined when they are fettered to a less tangible object. The anthropomorph allows us to create the less tangible symbol but allows us to maintain a binding in the familiar. Thus the "sexual furry" is capable of offering a "beacon" in the imagination upon which to build fantasy.
This I feel is actually a more natural state and can be considered more in tune with how our minds work than fantasizing about reality. When you fantasize about reality you are merely "remembering"; your mind does not have an opportunity to create based on what you yourself consider divine aspects. At first glance you would assume the realistic fantasy would provide a more appealing fantasy but that is not actually the case. If the fantasy is too tightly bound to reality then it also cannot escape it as easily.
If for instance you imagine yourself as a furry in your mind you can much more easily connect with it and thus have a more vivid experience lacking in the trappings of reality. But if you take the same fantasy and project yourself as you are you will instead be limited in what you will be capable of experiencing.
In its current form the "furry" is used more as an escape from reality and the disconnected nature of our world.
Hope that answers some of your questions. I developed this theory by tracing my own mind and comparing it to everything I know about psychology and anthropology.
Or you could just say that 6 foot bipedal, female felines with large boobs and human vocabularies are sexy.

Restless Leg Syndrome!!
General | Posted 19 years agohttp://video.google.com/videoplay?d.....%3Aeducational
The latest in made up medical conditions.
Restless leg syndrome is in reality your body's reaction to sitting still for too long. You see the large veins in your legs rely on the mechanical movement of your leg muscles in order to pump blood. You will instinctively begin shaking your leg when your body senses blood pooling or poor circulation.
If you were to actually try to treat this behaviour via drugs you will reduce total blood flow in the legs and this will result in blood pooling. This can lead to heart attacks as not enough blood will be able to flow through your body.
Everything this video says about the condition is a lie. I've also noticed that people are buying this garbage.

An Indian businessman born with two penises wants one of them removed surgically as he wants to marry and lead a normal sexual life, a newspaper report said on Saturday.
The 24-year-old man from the northern state of Uttar Pradesh admitted himself to a New Delhi hospital this week with an extremely rare medical condition called penile duplication or diphallus, the Times of India said.
"Two fully functional penes is unheard of even in medical literature. In the more common form of diphallus, one organ is rudimentary," the newspaper quoted a surgeon as saying.
The surgery was expected to be challenging as both organs were well-formed and full blood supply to the retained penis had to be ensured to allow it to function normally, he added.
The newspaper did not disclose the identity of the man or the hospital to protect the patient's privacy.
There are about 100 such reported cases of diphallus around the world and it is known to occur among one in 5.5 million men, the newspaper said.
It is caused by the failure of the mesodermal bands in the embryo to fuse properly. The mesodermal bands are one of three primary layers of the embryo from which several body parts are formed.

Corrupted Oc Drawing
General | Posted 19 years agoI have on my hands an Open Canvas .WPE File. However when i quit and saved my image it got corrupted. The image data is still intact within the file but OC refuses to open it, stating: "aborted because of dangerous data"
Within I have another picture of a sporty herm, this one playing volleyball and in full color, wearing red rubber, shot from below.
If you think you can open the file and recover the image I will provide a personal request image.
--I'd rather not have to draw it again.--

Men can breastfeed?
General | Posted 19 years ago"The phenomenon of male lactation in humans has become more common in recent years due to the use of medications that stimulate a human male's mammary glands. Male lactation is most commonly caused by hormonal treatments given to men suffering from prostate cancer. It is also possible for males (and females) to induce lactation through constant massage and simulated 'sucking' of the nipple over a long period of time (months)."
Up till today I did not know this.

More Questions!
General | Posted 19 years agoThis time about me! Or more specifically about my art. Is there any aspect of my style you find particularly attractive/effective and is there something you find weak/annoying/ineffective? I'd like to exploit the number of eyes looking at my work and see if I can get so constructive crit in terms of my overall skill, rather than just individual pics (though I always like critique). Don't be shy people I want to see what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong.

Breast Inflation?
General | Posted 19 years agoGot another question for the ladies out there. Any of you have any impression of what breast inflation would feel like? I know it's not a sensation you're likely to ever experience, but what would you imagine it to feel like.
I like to use empathy when I draw things so It's useful to know what things feel like. Since I'm a guy I can't imagine what physical sensations female breasts are capable of experiencing and what would be the most appealing.
Don't you just love my odd questions? :D

How are men attractive?
General | Posted 19 years agoWhat is it that women find so attractive about us. I don't see us as looking that good and when a man is considered beautiful it's because they have feminine features. Any ideas ladies?
Of course everyone can agree that women are beautiful.
Of course as in both cases there are exceptions ;)

Fast approaching 500 Favs.
General | Posted 19 years agoI bet it would go faster if i had more art posted.
However since lots of people like to make milestone art I'm considering doing something special for Favorite #500.
First one to send me a screencap of the magic number gets to recommend a subject for the piece.
The only restrictions are:
-Nothing overly complex (I'm lazy)
-No specific characters; either your own or otherwise. Except mine of course.
-Single character
That's it.
I would have done pageviews but honestly they pile on too quick and can be cheated.
