Beyond that though, I notice that FurAffinity now has a tipping system called Shinies! Clever name, interesting concept- it feels like an emulation of the tipping system that Ko-Fi uses, except with increments of $5 rather than $3. I'm not sure I like the idea enough to accept Shinies myself, but what do you guys think? Additionally, I'd like to ask- do you think I should open up writing commissions?

This was not a wise decision, seeing as we already care for several dogs and the cats (Snowflake and Princess Sasha by names) tend to randomly alternate between "hyperactive mayhem bringers" and "comatose", but I've grown to love the two little shits. They're absolutely adorable.
If only they'd stop antagonizing every piece of cloth in the house, that'd be nice.

I know Hillary isn't the optimal candidate, I know she has problems, I know the two-party system is fucked up and corrupt, but I trust her more than any other non-Repub, and we need all hands on deck to keep Trump out of office.
All that third-party voting does, based on centuries of experience, is split the vote. Just look at the election that got George W. Bush in office, or the one where Teddy Roosevelt split off from the Democrats and formed the Bull Moose. I know Gary Johnson and Jill Stein are appealing, but in the end, Hillary Clinton is the one who stands the most chance of preventing Trump from taking the presidency.
I'm terrified of Trump and his gang. I'm really fucking terrified. I'm terrified of the people I love, many of whom belong to minorities, being punished for crimes they never committed. Being hurt by bigots because an even bigger bigot is in power. The teeming masses of Trump supporters are violent as all hell. All I want is to minimize the damage done to the people I care about.

It's all the characters in fancy suits dancing in a spotlight and it's just adorable. So I decided, I'm gonna try something! I'll hold a YCH for two characters dancing inspired by the cinematic! This is it. (high school graduation)
Posted 9 years ago Today is the day. It's been almost eighteen years in coming, and now here it is.
Tonight, I graduate high school.
I'm waiting outside the school's football field right now, with most of the rest of my graduating class, to rehearse for graduation. I've been through so much in these past four years. Love, heartbreak, loss, rebirth, recollection, gatherings and leavings. Today is the day it all comes together, the day I leave high school and step out into the wide blue world beyond.
Of course, it isn't perfect. I'll be leaving behind many friends of mine who went to school with me. There are things I wish hadn't happened, things that I would do better if I had a chance to do them over. And it's still painful, knowing that my grandmother, one of the most loving, nurturing and accepting people in my life, succumbed to cancer, unable to watch me make this step towards adulthood. Even now, almost a year after her death, that wound still runs deep.
But even in the face of all that, life goes on, and for better or worse, I'm graduating today. I promised so many people that I'm going to do my best from here on. Thank you all, everyone on here and in real life, who's supported me, loved me, been a friend or family to me.
Wish me luck.

You've probably seen it before: "This post gave me cancer." "(x fandom) is cancer." Cancer, cancer, cancer, fucking thrown around all over the place without a motherfucking la-di-da.
Like, it's such an unbelievably fucking emotionally tone-deaf thing to do? To compare something obnoxious or upsetting to cancer? Why do you have to do this bullshit? Cancer isn't just something that bothers you or annoys you, it is literally a disease that ruins lives and damages things and people, sometimes beyond repair. I lost my grandmother to cancer last August and the lack of her presence is still affecting my family and I almost nine months later.
Hearing internet idiots compare dumb shit like popular fandoms (usually ones with bad reputations) or bad video games or webcomics or anything to cancer is just making me fucking boil over with sheer anger. I don't like Undertale or its obnoxious fandom any more than you do, asshat, but stop comparing it to the disease that killed my grandmother.
And I don't give a shit about "free speech". That just means the government can't tell you to shut up. It doesn't mean I can't tell you to shut up. If you use cancer (or, while we're at it, autism, or any other kind of disease or disorder) as an insult, I'd like to show you the fucking door, then kick your ass out of it so hard you won't be able to sit down for a fucking week. Posted 9 years agoYou can actually upload .tiff files to DA. I've had to convert everything to .png or .jpg to upload it here and it always ends up looking like crap in comparison to the .tiffs I'm able to upload on DevART.

Posted 10 years agoWell, we've gotten through another year, and frankly, it's been a huge, steaming load of bullshit for me. My grandmother is dead, my parents' relationship is completely shot, depression is causing me to dissociate and/or hate myself more and more frequently, for which I'm currently unable to get psychological help, and Donald Trump, a.k.a. the reincarnation of Adolf fucking Hitler, is running for president. Needless to say, I don't exactly have high hopes for 2016, but I'm not throwing in the towel yet. I have to keep fighting, to recover at least some small shard of hope in this mess.
Happy New Year, my furry friends. Stay strong. May 2016 grant you comfort in your sorrows and a reprieve from whatever suffering you may face.

Christmas Nightmare
Posted 10 years agoAbsolutely wonderful. Absolutely fucking wonderful. My poor little Maltese dog, Crystal, got seriously hurt by my aunt Andee's dogs, Clara and Charlie. Last I saw of her before Mom and Dad drove her off to the vet, she was bleeding from her ear and from her side and having trouble moving due to the pain. Everyone is really shaken up: Andee, uncle Doug, and aunt Cindy took the dogs away, my little sister Tiana is sobbing in her room, Mom is really freaked out, and I have one of those horrible knot feelings in my stomach that you get when you're scared for something or someone and I'm just trying to internalize this whole mess and keep a clear head. I hope Crystal is going to be okay, oh God... Butterscotch and Amber, my G-shep and Yorkie, are fine, and I got a lot of nice Christmas presents this year, but that's very small comfort in the wake of my dog being so hurt. Fuck, I really hope things are going to be alright, all I can do is try to comfort Tiana and pray that Crystal recovers...
