First "Job" so to speak
Posted 10 years agoTomorrow, I'm going to the local Habitat for Humanity building, to act as a greeter, as part of my volunteer work for school. I'm a little nervous, but I'm happy to be helping the Habitat and giving back to the community a little. Wish me luck.
Grandma's gone.
Posted 10 years agoThis morning at about five, my grandmother, Ruth, died of bone cancer. She was a wonderful person, and I already miss her so, so much.
Thank you for everything, Grandma. I hope God treats you well, up in Heaven where you deserve to be.

Grandma's cancer is terminal
Posted 10 years agoShe only has six months to a year- if that- left to live. The most anyone can do now is make her final months comfortable.
I can't do this. Why? Why, God? Why Grandma? I just wanted a few more years. At least until I graduated college.
I'd trade my life for Grandma's. I'd trade any number of years from my life, I'd snuff mine out entirely, if only Grandma could live and laugh, at least for a few years more.
This isn't fair. Grandma deserves more time. She's so kind and funny and caring and wonderful and I don't want her to go.

Posted 10 years agoI'm really, really, really scared. I don't want my grandma to die. Not yet. Not like this.
I wanna do money commissions...
Posted 10 years agoYeah... I really want to start taking art/story commissions for actual money, rather than DeviantART points. I'm about to enter my senior year of high school, and college is approaching me alarmingly quick, and I want to have some source of income so I can support myself when the time comes. Commissions seem like the best way to do that.
What do you guys think?

Posted 10 years agoI can't take it anymore. I feel so awful. I'm a failure to my family, a disappointment to my school, and useless to my friends. Whenever someone comes to me for help, I end up cocking it up. Whenever I get an assignment in school, I cock up. My stomach is constantly churning with a sick feeling of self loathing. Every time I look in a mirror, I look so hideous. I'm so ugly and stupid and useless, I should have been an abortion. It would improve the lives of literally everyone I know. I hate myself. I hate myself so much and I want to off myself so badly and the only thing holding me back is that for some reason people would be sad if I did. Can't see why. I'm a blight on the world. If humans are made in God's image, I must have been destined for the reject bin.
What do you do...
Posted 10 years agoWhen your parents act like they're five years old and fight all the time? I'm so sick of this, especially with my mom. She keeps saying she's happy and calm and serene because she's so spiritual and she does yoga, but the minute my dad asks her to empty the dishwasher, she turns into a shrieking she-demon from the depths of Hell. I just... What even is going on here? It's so fucked up. My sister and I can't take this any more. It's a good thing Dad is leaving the house to go camping for a week, my God...

Dizzy @-@
Posted 10 years agoI did so much writing over the course of the last week, it's a wonder my fingers haven't fallen off.
To make a long story short: I ended up saddled with a bunch of huge assignments all at the same time and a very close deadline. To make sure I finished it all on time, I went to the library instead of going straight home after school and did my homework there, where shiny internets were unavailable to distract me from my true purpose. (I admit to a rather nasty habit of procrastination, particularly when sidetracked by going online. Need to work on that really bad- another reason why I'm going to library for homework from now on.)
Needless to say, this sudden and intense influx of homework left me rather dazed, hahaha. I'll be in tip top shape in no time!

Awesome time at Shakespeare Festival!
Posted 10 years agoToday, I went to this big thing called Shakespeare Festival, which is exactly what it sounds like. I've been preparing for it for weeks, a group of other students and I busting our butts making costumes and doing a buttload of research. Well, it all came together today. I picked up some of the other students and we drove to a high school a little ways into the city, and we gathered our stuff and went to our presentation room for to, well, present.
What we had:
-My own self as a Neolithic Celtic King Lear
-One of my partners as a Neolithic Celtic Fool
-Trifold and binder filled chock full of clothing, design, etc. info.
I was parading around in that costume all day long. It had a big green cloak, a big wig, and most of all, a super cool beard. And the funny thing? Nobody knew who I was supposed to be, and they kept calling me a bunch of different stuff! XD
Here's what they called me:
-Gandalf
-Jesus(?!)
-Hagrid
-Moses(?!?)
-Obi-Wan Kenobi(!?!?!?!)
And at the awards ceremony (I didn't win anything, but this was just as good), everyone was cheering for me as I went up on stage to present my costume! They were cheering for me! They even called me "Gandalf" again! And before that, everyone was saying how much they liked my stuff! ;w; I just felt so happy being praised so much for all my hard work... I just... man. This was the best day ever.

Trying the beta...
Posted 10 years agoThis is pretty interesting. So far I have to say that I like the layout a lot. It's pretty neato, but it definitely needs some improvement. The search engine layout in particular is a bit of a mess, but I like the profile layout a lot.

Regarding the IMVU buyout.
Posted 10 years agoI really don't give a flying shit. So IMVU bought out FA- so what? Personally, I think the people who are freaking out about it or threatening to move to Weasyl are overreacting.
And I really don't care about anyone trying to sway me from my viewpoint, so if you wanna argue about it with me in the comments, don't even bother.

(on lunch break) Earring
Posted 10 years agoI've taken to wearing a fake earring around school lately. It's a big, plastic toy earring with a skull and crossbones on it, that used to be part of a Halloween pirate costume. People seem to like it a lot, so I feel happy wearing it around. They like to ask if it's real a lot, and they look surprised when I just slip it off my ear, haha. I kind of feel more confident when I wear it.
Fuck... (vent)
Posted 10 years agoI'm so tired of my parents fighting. They keep calling each other nasty names and attacking each other. Dad insults Mom's piano playing, and Mom insults Dad's handyman work. They scream at one another every day. They used to be so happy... I don't understand why they're fighting so much now. This is horrible... I want it to stop. Every day I hear them get angry and yell at each other, and it just makes my younger sister and I miserable. There's no way for it to stop. Nothing is gonna end this. It's the worst.
Free Art- Eight Nights of Chanukah
Posted 11 years agoYo. Normally, I don't do requests, but now I'm offering eight free art slots with a Chanukah/Hanukkah theme! My Jewish heritage means a lot to me, even if I'm not especially religious, so I wanna share it with you guys through art representing the most recognizable Jewish holiday, which starts next week.
I'll do eight slots, each based on one aspect of Chanukah that most people know.
1. Lighting the Chanukiyah (It is not just a menorah! It is a chanukiyah! There is a difference!)
2. Saying prayers
3. Playing with dreidel (a form of gambling involving a top called a dreidel)
4. Singing songs
5. Cooking/eating latkes (potato pancakes, a bit like hash browns but more... solid I guess? Idk)
6. Gelt/Chanukah money (sometimes money is given as a gift on Chanukah, but in my family, li'l sis and I are given chocolate coins called gelt)
7. Chanukah bush (rather, the destroying of one. I don't need no ding blasted Chanukah bush pollutin' the airwaves what with it bein' a ridiculous mockery of a Christmas tree. >:/ Christian syncretism can kiss my fat juicy-- *whack*)
8. The most materialistic of all... PRESENTS!
Soooo, whoever wants one, don't be shy, c'mon up and ask! Slots until next Wednesday, the start of Chanukah, and everyone who wants a slot will get one free sketch, which will be colored/edited later on.
