Some news
Posted a year agoNeed to let everyone know that, on Wednesday I'll be heading to California to visit with family until oct 2. I won't be able to work while at my family's place or have much in the way of internet. So I'll try to get as much work done as possible before hand.
Commissions are open!
Posted a year agoAlrighty, having finished the slots, I am now fully open for work.
I'll be taking 6 commissioners to fill the slots, so if you are interested, send me a note and let me know. :)

Summer news update
Posted a year agoAlright, time for more news.
I'm sure you all know of the recent passing of Dragoneer, owner of Furaffinity. May he rest in peace. This also puts into perspective of uncertainty regarding the FA site. If something happens to this place, I created a backup site on Inkbunny and Itaku in case of a mass migration occurs if the place shuts down for any reason. They might not have all my pictures, but it's a good alternative.
https://inkbunny.net/mimic12455
https://itaku.ee/profile/mimic12455
I've also have a linktree here: https://linktr.ee/mimic12455
This is so there's always a means to communicate with me in the event you need to reach me beyond just this site, for now at least.
Usually I don't talk about my IRL activities, but I felt this was important to talk about; I would also like to announce that, later this month, I'll be undergoing a medical procedure around the 19th that, while not as intensive as surgery, will have me unable to work on art around that week. So expect some slowdown in progress in artworks. It's nothing serious, that I know of, but that's why I'm doing it to make sure it's nothing serious and it's taken care of now instead of later. If it's something serious, I'll announce it the day after. If not, then I'll just say it went well and move on.
Also making another comic to help pay the bills. It should be announced later this month and the script is co-written by
Heroic_Ones. Be on the look out for that! :)

Update on Commission prices
Posted a year agoGreetings everyone!
Alright, it's time for some news that many might not like. Due to an increase in expenses for various things in the current economy, the time has come to change my prices for public commissions.
While the diagram hasn't been posted yet, I have decided that, starting today, the prices for picture commissions will be a general increase of $10 across the board. Comic prices are still being processed but will be announced in the future.
This has come to light after some bills came about of a medical nature. After a few doctor visits, the bill for just a routine checkup costs quite a bit. This made me realize that, in the event I have a medical emergency, I wouldn't have enough to pay off a higher-standing bill. The extra money I add to commissions will be placed in a nest egg for medical purposes or in the event of an emergency. That way, I can continue to draw more artwork for everyone to enjoy. :)

Announcement
Posted 2 years agoGreetings everyone!
A bit of backstory, For the last few years, I've been using commissions and funding from other sources such as Patreon and Gumroad to help pay rent and food. The number of commissions was decent and the flow of cash was also good. In time, I was hopeful that it would help bring in a surplus amount in time. It had been working well until the last 3-4 months. This was when my commissions started dwindling and inflation started increasing [food is now double what I usually pay]. Even doing YCHs doesn't bring in any new clients to help pay rent month by month. Not only that, I felt myself burning out little by little despite my attempts to mitigate it. It has become increasingly clear that this income won't be sustainable in its current form. So now I felt it was time for me to go back to working a job again.
Yup, back to the workforce. Searching for job applications and such. Only viable option given the situation.
So what does this mean for drawing and working on this side? Well, I'll still be drawing, that hasn't changed. For now, commissions will take some time to do, likely be more sparsely chosen at least until I get used to the new job I would get myself into. Hopefully, this would put decisions into context if I refuse to accept a commission you wanted me to do. It might come to pass that I would no longer do new public commissions. Only time will tell.
For those within Patreon and Subscribestar, I'll be completing the remaining rewards and taking a month to put payments on hold. So existing members will not pay for that month but still have access to the content, including Discord. However, rewards will not be given that month as a result. This will be a good chance to catch up on any that I've missed in both doodles, Patreon-related rewards, and commissions in general. Things should return to normal by the following month.
That's all for now. If you have any questions, be sure to leave a comment.

Commission update of August
Posted 2 years agoGreetings!
In the last few weeks, commissions weren't coming in as much as I thought. So things were kind of on the slow side. Yet at the same time, almost all of my commissions in queue are done. This is good.
This means that the slots that were once 2, are now 4! So if you have an idea to make it into visual life, step right up!

Some bit of news!
Posted 2 years agoHey guys!
So, recently I've been doing some side projects on my end. Recently, I joined in another one to help someone.
Post can be found here: https://twitter.com/NoeticChasm/sta.....75101256597521
General jist of it is that Danmingle(writer and owner of Wess Wasp) had some financial trouble, wanted to raise funds, and asked a few artists to help. I'm one of those artists, focusing mainly on line art and some group management. Character being used? Loona from Helluva Boss! Wanna throw in a dollar or see the work of me and others are working on? Head to the post and fund the fun! :)
In other news, I have also been working on commissions and Patreon stuff. Will post that in the relative future.
I have also updated the Wess Wasp comic with more comic pages: https://imitantes2ubique.gumroad.com/l/kpdqt
And speaking of other projects, I've also been helping out with another collab comic. This time you can see it for free! https://www.furaffinity.net/view/30125006/
You can find the page where I started helping here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/52265558/

August Commissions [Closed]!
Posted 3 years agoAlrighty, some more news!
So from what I've been told, making journals to announce commissions is better than just splashing it on a page and waiting for results. While it seems common sense, I didn't realize it until someone told me they didn't know I was open for commissions. It explains quite a few things, honestly...
I am now announcing commissions for the month of August! Getting one is very simple.
Fill out this form if you are interested: https://forms.gle/JFh2LMVSdD84houN9
After filling, I shall contact you for details and to confirm everything is in place. The slot is yours after payment is sent.
The forms will be open until all slots are filled!

Small Update
Posted 3 years agoThis is a heads up to those following me.
At around the 19th of April(one week from now), I'll be flying to visit my dad for about 5 days. So I won't be able to do any art related things or respond quickly until I return on the 23rd.
Expect some delays in art as I get ready for the trip this week. The trip itself isnt long, but it does require some prep. Thank you for understanding.

Another birthday coming, another year older
Posted 3 years agoIt's feburary once more, and on the 22nd I shall be another year older. Man how time flies.
I would like ot thank all of you who stuck by me over the course of this year and possibly the previous years I've been here. You helped me keep at this artistic venture despite what life may have done to keep it down. You all have been the best. :)

1/7 Tax Related News
Posted 4 years agoOkay, this bit of news was known for about a month or so, but I haven't really thought much about it until recently when other artists have mentioned their greviences towards it. I'm talking about the IRS enforcement of the 1099-K form reporting from $20k to $600. (For those living outside of the United States: This is an event within the US government that's adding tax shinanigans)
Now this is a rather serious bit of news as my last number of years was doing artwork to pay rent and various other activities. I certainly could not afford to pay the taxes at the time in the beginning when I started going to work as a freelance artist. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
This new act recently passed by the government means that, for anyone using online services such as paypal, Stripe, and so forth gets paid more than 600 dollars a year, they recieve a 1099-k. Which means that the service has let the IRS know you have this money as income, then you must pay the tax for this amount.
For a self-employed person, this amounts to roughly (at max) a 15% tax. (ie. 600 dollars would come out to 90 dollars in tax.) So, if I were to earn 600 dollars a month, for twelve months, I have to make sure I have $1080 dollars saved up by the end of the year. That's a pretty heavy blow to the wallet.
Keep in mind, it might not be 15%. I don't make enough to pay taxes so I don't know the specifics., let me know if I'm wrong.
So what would be some solutions for such a situation as an artist? There are several, a lot with good and bad outcomes. Here are the three major solutions I had come up with based on this data.
1) Get a job. (I personally don't like this but it's still an option given I got open job positions near the area)
2) Find a service or method that will not trigger the 1099-k form. (This is especially tricky and annoying as such options are very limiting to both the artist and customer. Many online stores and services require themselve to report to the IRS.)
3) Use the paypal's invoice more seriously and add the 15% tax upon the prices for commissions. (I also don't like this as it hurts my commissioners financially, but it would immediately solve the issue as little to no transitional changes would be required for both parties involved.)
These are the most likely possibilities for me to choose to keep myself afloat finacially. If I were to try and avoid the issue and pretend it doesn't exist, it'd likely bite me in the butt later on. If nothing is done about this new tax policy, then it's likely big changes for everyone involved in a gig like artists, sellers, and crafters.
It's very likely I'd have to go with option 3, as it would be the cleanest method of transition. Just have to account for the extra cost, which would likely just be an extra 5 dollars or less for my more pricey commissions, all things considered.
But there is still time to think it over and see if there are better options available. Patreon and Subscribe Star will be largely the same, requiring no additional work from my fans.
So that's about it. I'd like to know what everyone's thoughts are on the matter. It wouldn't be the first time my finances took a hit due to outside forces, but learning the opinions of others help put things in a clearer perspective. So what do you think of this new Act that had been initiated?
