Back in America
General | Posted 12 years agoWell, back to the land of stars and stripes. It was another great experience overseas. I was reluctant to leave, but eager to return. The fun of mixed emotions.
It only took about 15-16 hours to get back, even did the impossible and connected through O'hare without any delays. (a true miracle!)
Made it back in time for classes to be starting up next week, spend a few days with friends, trying to relax and adjust back to normal American life. birthday coming up in a few days too, guess I should try to start organizing that soon.
I'm really looking forward to seeing a lot of you nice folk again, good laughing conversations, lots and lots and lots of food.
see you all soon.

Commenting on you meme.
General | Posted 13 years agoWell. I've been dared twice by
Nbowa and
Robypanther Guess I should finally stop being lazy and post this. Oh well. I hardly have any followers. I won't have nearly the workload they've had!
Rules are pretty simple. Comment in this journal, and I must do the following.
Comment on this journal and I'll...
1. Tell you something I learned about by looking at your Fa page for 13*ish seconds
2. Tell you a colour you remind me of, And i guess. to make it interesting, I'll try to explain why that coloUr stands out so much to me, rather than just the most obvious distinguishing coloUr of your fursona.
3. Tell you the first memory I have of you (Or a prominent memory of you that really shines instead. maybe both. I dunno. I'm feeling ballsy)
**4. Ask you a question **
5. Tell you something I like/admire about you
6. Give you a nickname
7. Tell you the object that is to the left of me
8. Dare you to do this yourself in your journal. and if you're too chicken to do this yourself.. then reply to my reply, with the same questions/answers, but only applying to me, it feeds my narcissism, and you don't want me to starve, do you? Don't feel obligated to do part B though.
also. I'm going to add a number 9. Because i'm crazy like that.
9. Please share a favorite quote, and/or a personal motto you try to live by.
edit*and yes. All the quotes have something to do with you. and you're welcome to throw quotes and mottos back at me.
Feel free to ask questions of me, or even ask for more details if you want to know why i chose my answers about you, I'm admittedly always interested in the whys when I get answers to such questions. And here I am, being a nice lion and trying to go a step above and beyond the average for you people, my lovely watchers.

interesting idea for MUGEN
General | Posted 13 years agoI remember finding mugen years ago, and it's a cute little game that basically ports all fighting characters from all fighting games into the same one, and allows for heavy customization. I saw someone posting a journal about one person's endeavors in trying to create a 100+ furry vs. scalie roster, and even looking for people to be characters.
ambitious. But I kinda like that.
check it out if you like mugen. I look forward to hearing more on this project, even If I don't get in.

Happy birthday, to me! Also, back in America.
General | Posted 13 years agoWell. I'm back in America, it's my birthday. Even the hurricane left Florida alone so I could enjoy it. Quite sweet of him really.
So, I had quite the summer, thank you to everyone I had the chance to meet over at the Londonfur big summer party. (I finally got to be the foreigner with the cool accent everyone crowds around!) [And I won my first "farthest distance traveled" award. Take that tzup!]
So. Yes. The Olympics and such were fantastic, and of course I collected way too much team GB stuff with their lion mascot. (Way better than the germ mascot things)

FWA 2012
General | Posted 14 years agoFWA was pretty rocking. I had a great time seeing friends I haven't seen for months.
I really like FWA, it's big enough to gather most of my friends, but it's not too big where it feels hectic, crazy, jampacked, and rushed like a massive con. The perfect mix between my local Megaplex "Relax-a-con" and Anthrocon's "Oh my god EVERYONE is here"
I also really enjoy saying "fwah" as a single syllable that everyone understands.
Big shout out to the late night poker crew.
Nbowa And his ability to destroy probability with magic dealing.

Kuddlepup joined in. And a few others were at the table any of the nights that I'm forgetting at the moment. Thanks for taking my money. <3 Super congrats to Kalendil for winning the real tournament. (of which I was the first person eliminated in the first satellite. I must be good at this game)
Ah well more #namedrop I guess

But it's not just friends. I met a lot of great people there this year as well. In the artist I spent some good time and got some great art from
kazewolf and tanginello
Dealers den: Chibi-marrow and Mahrkale
When I get this scanner fixed I'll upload everything for you guys! (and to show off how pretty I am/you made me.)
Random late night shenanigans: The only two people whose names I can remember from that fun group were crimsonred77 and Xan_leonis more great people I had the pleasure of meeting.
Although Red still owes me a message...
There. Have I name dropped enough people to be popular yet?
Also. stop getting sick everyone. I know I threw out my voice rather early on, but jeez. People are coming home with bronchitis, pneumonia, flus, colds. Con crud is evolving into con plague. o.O Even my roomate in the next room might be dying.
See y'all soon.

Keeping busy.
General | Posted 14 years agoI know I don't make enough journal posts, so I'm just going to write up a quick progress report.
Doing my best to keep busy, working on little projects or whatever I can get my paws on. Getting ready for a move or two this summer, classes starting back up in the fall.
Had tons of fun at FWA and Elliotts Spring Gathering where I had some good shenanigans and made good friends, some really special moments that reminded me on why I enjoy the fandom so much. Don't know what else I'll be going to this year though.
good luck to everyone else in their endeavors as well. Note me if you need me.

victoria in Corturiacum. Victory in Court
General | Posted 15 years agoI haven't updated in awhile, so I figured this was at least celebratory enough to share with you and get my outdated journal off my page.
I was in court again today. (For like the 6th time) dealing with the car accident where another guy rear ended me.
Finally got everything settled and I won in court.
It was a good feeling.
Long day though. had to be out of the apartment by 8 AM and with classes after court, didn't make it home until closer to 11 PM.
But, today, the lion was victorious in court.

Bitch, Hold my weave! AC'10
General | Posted 15 years agoAlright. Post con report and wrap up. The real question is, what style to do it in? Should I take the name dropping approach and see how many people I mention and link to? Or I could go paragraph by paragraph and put in a detailed in depth description of exactly what happened until it's way beyond tl;dr. Or how about an unprecedented...simple summary!
We drove from Florida, took our time, actually stopped to sit down and eat, relaxed pace, even going to pick someone up in North Carolina. Took i believe 22 hours to get up there from beginning to end, (of which I drove at least 13) fun times. We made it back in only 16 driving straight though. Both of which included a lot of The Lion King on Broadway soundtrack and Abba songs. (There are actually several sketches of this, which I'm sure will get posted eventually) Big thanks to Vani, Mur(dislocated penguin) and Djsammehfox for the car ride.
The con was great. I brought like 12 costumes and only got to wear half of them. I was the only red spy. with an almost complete set of blue-team hats for my working disguise kit. (hilarious suit that we made with spray paint and a trip to good will, literally on the way up to AC) I had the Cock of Justice there to make a few appearances and get his picture in the fursuit parade. Pirate hooker didn't make much of an appearance, neither did furry jesus, but to make up for it, Michael Phelps spent a lot of time wondering where the pool was at. Glittergroin and rocky horror suit showed up, had their fun, there may have been a bit of streaking through the zoo here and there, but those are just rumors, and there certainly aren't a couple dozen photos to prove it.
Honestly, the whole con was a lot of fun. I spent almost the whole con either in costume, or drinking with the great friends I made. Or.. both at the same time.
I put lots of wrenches in people's plans, got into a lot of fights, made lots of people hold my weave, and my earrings, and my baby.
Flipped my butterfly knife a good bit too, that was a lot of fun while in the spy suit, but I didn't want to play as much once I had been drinking heavily and not sleeping. Which reminds me, several people asked me to post the final numbers.
From friday to monday. There was a grand total of 5 hours of sleep, total. With about a 52 hour period in the middle that never contained more than an hour of consecutive sleep. Isn't insomnia fun!? I had a blast with it.
I met a lot of great people, caught up with friends who had moved away, had great food, and had good chats. Even though I wanted to avoid too many name drops, I feel like I have to point out a special someone. Kiwa lyon, I saw him in costume for all of two minutes Saturday, didn't actually get to see him until the con was over and we started drinking and fighting Sunday night. After being shown his pictures time and time again, in the exact same few poses, over and over again. And I do mean, over and over, and over, and over again. Meeting him in person proved that he was able to move in more than just a few directions. Actually, he was pretty cool, hard to find many other lions who I can believe are real lions. Most seem to either be posers or pumas with wigs. So, congrats to Kiwa, definitely got a Leonine seal of Approval.
tl;dr section over, now, it's time for random quotes and good times.

Don't be alarmed, it's just a car crash.
General | Posted 15 years agoSo I got hit the other night, this guy changed lanes to hit me in the ass after I turned out of my complex and got out of his lane.
Don't worry. I'm not severely hurt or anything. Car damage is present, but it's relatively minor. It could have been a lot worse, so that has been what I've been trying to keep in mind.
For the most part it will just be dealing with the financial/legal issues this could cause.
So it goes. No choice but to go through the process.
Better luck to the rest of you!
Thanks for reading,
Leon

Chinese New Year, St. Valentine's Day, and a new Avatar.
General | Posted 16 years agoI hope everyone who is celebrating either day is having a good one. Welcome to the year of the tiger, and even if you don't have love in your life today, I hope you can find it and stay in good spirits until then and beyond.
Look at me rock out on that piano. Hell yeah.
If you feel a stinging pain in your ass, don't worry, I'm sure it's just an arrow. Don't think anything else of it, just relax and let it happen.

Special gathering: Furday 9/9/09
General | Posted 16 years agoWooo! Went to disney for 9/9/09.
We got a decent sized furry group together and went to a few parks. Animal Kingdom, Magic kingdom, and Epcot. It was a lot of fun and a pretty good day to enjoy the company of friends in the fandom.
We also decided to wear tails, for everyone that had one. Everyone really liked them. Children, tourists, photographers, even the employees wanted to come talk to us, ask us questions, and feel the tails. We got many of the cast members to break character, especially at the haunted mansion.
Overall it was a lot of fun, great hanging out with everyone again.
And also: The buzz Lightyear ride. I had a great round. Scored 945,100 points, just short of GALACTIC HERO rank. Instead, i was a COSMIC COMMANDO! And I love alliteration more than being "An hero"
wooo! great round. :D

i don't have too much else to add right now, if interesting things happen today, I'll jot down a few highlights for the few of you who read this.
One thing I could add, to give this journal a little more spice:
Last tuesday was another of the Orlando weekly furmeets, and it was a good time as always, but afterwards the night reached a much more amazing level than usual.
Highlights include:
-Dwarf prostitutes,
-Oriental Buffets.
-A ride on a Disco Stick
-Spaghetti Tacos
and...
-Really skinny people who manage to have double chins.
I hope you're all burning with curiosity now. Unless you were with the group...
either way.
Thanks for reading,
-Leon

Elliotts Summer Gathering 09
General | Posted 16 years agoGot to enjoy a great local event run by King Elliott.
It was a lot of fun, and nothing too specific to mention.
It was great meeting new furs, and catching up with friends that I haven't seen in awhile.
Thanks to the artists who made art for me, I'll post them up when I have access to a scanner once more... or I fix mine. Either way, thank you again!
Thanks for reading,

...because I have to start posting eventually.
General | Posted 16 years ago...because I have to start posting eventually, I might as well make my first journal entry about the best con to date: Megaplex 8, 2009
This was my first official con. I had been to some smaller events in the past, but megaplex is the only one labeled as a big convention instead of a gathering, festival, or party. (The wonderful elliott's events)
It happened last weekend inbetween July 24th and the 26th. It is currently wednesday the 29th: I'm back home, I'm sober, I'm still making up for lost sleep, and my body is still screaming in mild dehydrated despair despite (mmm such tasty alliteration) my best efforts.
Yet.. I'm still completely buzzed. There is no PCD, at least it hasn't hit yet. I had such a great time I still feel thrilled about it.
Everything about the con was great. The events, panels, entertainment, fursuiters, atmosphere, and room parties. I had such a great time.
I played in The Furry Feud, in which my team beat the other team by something like 292 to 42.
The Cock of Justice also made an appearance in the Fursuit Deal or big deal show as number 14, holding the mysterious $10 envelope.
Matthew Ebel had a great show, as did JR in his standup routine. The FPS show was hilarious, and the safety cones looked a little bit too much like real mouths when you stared into them.
The staff did a good job of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Where my RHPS virgin cherry was popped so fruitlessly. Yet again, my team also won the virgin challenge. Sense a pattern here? Oh yes, that's right. I'm awesome. =D ...lets just ignore the fact that my team lost the fursuit games to Minstrel's cheating. ;)
And oh yes.. Rocky's shorts from the show... murry purry fantastic. Shiny gold metallic shorts. Take a look at the art posted here and you might realize the sick obsessination I have with gold.
The room parties were amazing as well. Something I thought might never happened came true. In the same room party of megaplex, the three best lions were all there.*
(*according to me)
Simba, Nbowa, and Leon de Oro. :D
Met some fantastic furs, far far too many to list
special note for Tzup, Kale tiger, Terkwolf, Rruff, Roxikat, Dibbun, Onai wolfwind, Q, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few from the early morning IHOP trip who were probably the only ones capable of staying up so early into the morning with me. Sorry if I forgot your name or got it wrong, I was exhausted!
And to finish up this long report, I have a very special dedication to Onai Wolfwind and Cessnafox who were the first furries I met in the fandom, my roomates and became engaged at Megaplex 8, 2009, with plans to tie the knot. (not like that you perverted furries!) at Megaplex 9: 2010. Big cheers to them. I wish them the best. They're perfect for each other.
P.s. (Thats what the alphabet would look like if Q and R didn't exist...) You didn't actually think I was done did you? Oh no!
There was another performance that I purposely neglected to mention up above. And That is Bucktown tiger ladies and gentlemen. While he did a fantastic job on stage, I'm here talking about his superior performance, in the middle of the con area sunday morning at around 2 AM. For any musician to even try to keep up with us... you'll see for yourself.

This was the best possible way to wrap up the con. Thank you Bucktown and everyone else who made it possible, even Mach who had to shut it down, he was just doing his job.
Enjoy the show. It shouldn't be too hard to pick out which one is me.
I can't wait to see everyone again, I can't thank you all enough for the great time I had at Megaplex 8, 2009.
