Updates

I hope in this upcoming year I can try to do at least one Mirromy Monday a month. I still love the species, but life has had me a bit too busy for extracurricular arts and activities.
I have also become rather fond of several of you calling them cthulumews... I just don't even, Makes me smile every time.
If I'm not active enough, shout on my main page... I often get distracted with life.

I thought this might be a nice little thing to clear up any confusion that may exist when it comes to the Mirromy species and what each person can do with them. As I realize it may be unclear from when they were adopted or created. Some of these aren't laws or anything, they are my personal feelings and what I am willing to give out.

Your Rights as Mirromy Owners:
- You may use them in any written works, published or otherwise.
- You may make artwork of your own Mirromy and sell it as prints and other physical merchandise.
- Claim ownership of your character and it's color variation.
- You may trade or sell your Mirromy (made by species creators) to other users as long as they are aware of these rules. (and you do not make more off the designs than $20 each)
- You may use your own Mirromy creations for profit as long as you give me credit on small scale. (less that 1kUSD, and do not use my linework)
- You may use your Mirromy creations for profit in large scale (you can make under 1kUSD) as long as I am given credit and part of the money made. This does not include work with my artwork in it.(10%-15% depending, please contact me)
- You may commission other's to draw artwork of your Mirromy. They may then sell prints (etc) of your Mirromy if they so desire to others as the original creator of that work of art.
- Modify your Mirromy to your own world. (however it will not be considered cannon)
- You must give me copies of any Mirromy merchandise be it digital or otherwise. (Ex, 3d models, flash templates for creation, keychains) I will not claim ownership of these creations or resell them without your permission. Commissioned art does not count.
- You may commission or make Mirromy fursuits, costumes, or apparel.
- You can use them in any not-for-profit situation as long as credit is linked to Iggi as creator. Please do not use my lines without a contract.
- ALL Mirromy art must credit iggi as the species creator and link back to her profile if possible!

My Rights as a Mirromy Creator:
- I may publish, sell or use Mirromy in any way.
- I will not purposely EVER use designs created by others. If something like that comes up, I will try and change it if possible. However I hold the final say in any situation like this.
- I will always get credit as the creator of the species. (you do not have to link back, but please always do if possible)
- I may rescind or modify any of these details later in the future.

What you CANNOT do with your Mirromy:
- Claim ownership of the species.
- Use any of my lines or work for you profit without my written permission.
- Sell adoptables of them without giving me credit. You CANNOT use my lines.
- Use them for profit without contacting me first.

Info for those who get commissioned to draw art of Mirromy:
- You may then sell prints (etc) of your Mirromy if you so desire to others as the original creator of that work of art.
- Please give credit to me Iggi to any work you put a Mirromy in.
- You may sell copies of only the artwork you create that is commissioned, otherwise the rules for owners apply.

This means I will be allowing people to sell their Mirromy, make Mirromy merchandise, Make Mirromy SL models, and do other stuff as long as you are willing to work out a contract with me for sale.

If you have any questions I will try and clarify. As result, these rules may be modified an altered to give better clarity over time.

Did a quick little video on Livestream of masking and coloring a Mirromy. I tried not to go to fast, so hopefully it helps. I used paint tool Sai. But any program that has layer masking should be able to do this!

I have planned still for my own fun a Mirrim template, a feral shlealin, revised scaled Shlealin and smooth Shlealin. As more species populate the planet, more may be added. These may not be done as free use, unsure as of yet.

I just wanted to put a few bits out there for the group to give a bit of a list of things that are true for a Mirromy in a canon universe at this time, and what is not. ("canon" being based off of the original concept that I have in mind for the species)

Obviously, many of these were adoptables, so by no means do they have to be followed for those who don't want cannon characters. I do not expect it to be followed to a tee either if you do. This is a general guidlines to help out those who wish to stay in boundaries.

If you have questions, I'd be more than happy to try and answer them, and put them in appropriate lists!

Canon stuff: General Info packet
-No defined gender. Gender shifter. May have a preference for one, or act more like one.
-All encompassing slit for genitals and anus. Clit is ALSO penis. (aka mating tentacle)
-Between 4 and 13 feet tall for adult Mirromy. (2-3 feet for Pygmy)
-Reproductive anatomy like this.
-Lays eggs in groups of 2-4 from a womb.
-Does not make milk. Breasts make pure water. (except for in mating season)
-Lives near or in water.
-Mating tendril is the same color as skin, and gradients into same color as blood. (typically related colors)
-Hybrids of any mirromy species.
-small biolumenscent markings in deep sea and cave types only.
-human like skin (inner skin), and soft rubber like skin (outer skin)

Grey Area (may have these things, or close to it and still be considered canon.)
-Follows closely the color choices, and plausible natural-esque markings to help blend into their colorful surroundings.
-Uses magic, technology
-Loves nature, and overall is kind. This obviously may differ from character to character.
-Has primarily grey, black, or brown colors.
-Has eyes a different color completely from blood. Has eyes with completely different iris and scalera colors.
-turning slowly into Pygmy Mirromy after being any other kind.
-transparent skin
-More patterns on tummy than top/outer skin.
-Shlealin/Mirromy Hybrid
-extreme muscle or fat Mirromy
-split tail
-actual eye instead of forehead gem.

Not Canon (Mirromy having any of these things are not canon)
-a complete rainbow of colors.
-completely black character, or full black anywhere.
-solid colored characters.
-sparkle skin
-laying eggs in quantities over 10.
-hybrids of any non-planet species.
-full body glows or partial glows.
-fur
-slimy skin
-Extra appendages.

I thought I'd post a journal up with the chance to discuss and compare the Mirromy species and subspecies!

Primary Species: Coastal (or Common) Mirromy: Though most of the subspecies are not technically subspecies, they are adaptations that nearly any Coastal Mirromy can achieve by being in that living environment for extended periods of time. (around 20 years) Pygmy and Volcanic are the only true subspecies.

Info Packet, if you haven't read it yet and have a Mirromy. It might help you out!


Subspecies
Cave Type - The most secretive best hunters. Typically small compared to other types.
Climber Type - The smartest and most agile.
Deep Sea Type- One of the largest. Huge tail, big eyes.
Lake Type- The dullest color wise, best at mimicking environments.
Polar (Arctic) Type - One of the tallest overall, also typically the widest (and most cuddly).
Pygmy (pygmy coastal) Type - Smallest and has gliding wings! (max of 3 feet high)
Reef (flora) Type - Most colorful and playful.
Swamp Type - Most resilient to disease/poison. Most poisonous with largest broods.
Volcanic Type - Loners, most aggressive. (not mean though)

I've gotten most of the types all completed now. However as I begin to focus on their homes, colonies and social life, i was wondering if some of the watchers had suggestions, ideas, or in general things they might like to see incorporated.

Things I have plans to work on:
-Natural predators: (Shlealin via aryndreamslayer) but in a more feral form. These guys have a lot of visual similarities I feel would make them an excellent predator without being too much. we were thinkg of incorperating current shlealin to a modern Mirromy setting.
-Which types have the most technology and thus affecting their home types
-Visuals on breeding sites.
-Anatomy of sex
-Inter-species breeding (dominant traits, etc. What works, and what doesn't)
-Weapons and tools
-Prey animals
-Plant Life
-Technology through the ages. (I pan to take them from current tribal like life, to modern human-like age and beyond) SO one can pick their heritage for character
-Age/height/weight illustrations
-Creation myths
-Rituals per type and holidays.
