What is in a name change?
Posted a year agoErika Fuzzbottom is a name that I've used for years. "Erika" was a name I stole from a Pokemon gym leader because it sounded pretty. And "Fuzzbottom" referred to my fuzzy tail.
However, after giving it some thought, I've decided the name doesn't really suit me, anymore. Now that I have a fursona that I can really connect with, I want a name that I can also connect with. One that I might've had at birth, had I not wound up with a male name, instead.
So allow me to reintroduce myself:
My name is Kathryn. "Katt" the pig. ^🐽^
Besides, my tail isn't all that fuzzy anymore (though it's not naked, either).

Oink! (And also, squeak?)
Posted 2 years agoEarlier this year, I talked about how my primary fursona is now a pig. I also mentioned that I wasn't giving up my raccoon-dragon form, remaining one in my YouTube content for the sake of familiarity.
But, over the course of the year, my affinity for being a pig has only grown stronger. When I became a raccoon-dragon, it was simply because I liked the look, and also because it seemed like a gamer-appropriate species. But becoming a pig was a random experiment that surprisingly clicked. I love being a pig! Knock on wood, but after swapping fursonas multiple times in recent years, I think I finally found a forever fursona!
As such, I am in the process of making a full switch to pig across all my channels. I'm currently waiting on new art specifically for YouTube.
I'll probably still get art of my dracoon form on rare occasion. I created it back in 2006; there will be much nostalgia for the form. Also, I'm not denying myself from having alt forms. After all, it was experimentation that changed me into a pig in the first place.
Speaking of alt forms, I am considering a mouse form. For a while, I've had a fantasy of being a cartoon mouse living in a mouse hole, furnished with everyday items like tea cup chairs. I recently was able to fulfill that fantasy thanks to VR Chat, and it was as neat as I hoped! I've since modded a mouse avatar to my liking. And while being only 5 inches tall is a little inconvenient to stay permanently, I can see myself becoming this for fun on occasion:

Random thoughts on being a pig.
Posted 3 years agoI mentioned on the 9th that I decided to main a pig as my fursona. So far, I definitely don't regret that decision. But I also have no intention of giving up my raccoon-dragon or nidoran-dragon forms. I still love being those a lot (at least when I'm in the mood). And I'm definitely still being a raccoon-dragon in my gaming content. Partly because my non-furry viewers have enough trouble understanding why I'm an animal, much less so if I randomly decide to change species. Familiarity is also important. I don't want to confuse returning viewers whether I'm the same person or not. Speaking from experience.
I also still find it funny that I enjoy being a pig so much, when I previously wasn't a fan at all. And I finally remembered why I wasn't. There's various cartoons that either make them slobs, or villainize them. There's also plenty of stories in which being turned into a pig is a curse, the most infamous being the stories of Circe. And, they're farm animals. Livestock. Generally, being a pig just didn't sound fun.
So you may be wondering what changed my mind. Well, I had already been seeing farm animals in the furry fandom. They seemed an unusual choice to be, but interesting for their uniqueness. Then I came across Leo_Pig, who was offering to draw art. I liked how he drew pigs, so I asked to be drawn as one. [This image happened.] Turned out I make a pretty dang cute pig. And the idea stuck with me. Then finally, I got to be one [in Second Life], and loved it. (A similar situation resulted in my love for being a nidoran.)

I will say, having a pig fursona has had some interesting repurcussions in real life. Primarily with my eating habits. I've slowly been giving up pork. It's just weird to think of eating meat that is essentially made out of me, even if it's just for pretend. Granted, I'll still eat it if given to me. I'm not about to tell my family, "Don't make any more pork chops, I'm pretending to be a pig on the internet."
Whether I'll always main a pig, it's hard to say. I've already changed my fursona multiple times since joining this fandom. Having multiple forms also complicates things, because I don't want to have too many, and it also means having to decide which form takes priority on my profiles. How does one make a decision like that? In this case, I just happen to spend more time as a pig than anything else. But a part of me is concerned that my mood will shift, and I'll favor one of my other forms for a while. I don't really like going around and saying "Okay, I changed my mind again, now I'm this species, instead."
In the end, I guess all I can say is: I am me.

New old art?
Posted 3 years agoA quick reminder that I was previously active on Dray-and-Erika before abandoning FA for a while, and eventually returning to this account.
Dray-and-Erika before abandoning FA for a while, and eventually returning to this account.
There was some art in between that I never posted on FA, so I'm going to go ahead and post them here over the next couple days or so.
As an aside, I sometimes miss roleplaying as a pair of twins. Maybe someday I'll get new art of Draygone. Not sure, though. I really like being myself. So even if I did, I'm sticking with this account.
EDIT: Turns out there was a lot of older art that never got posted, either!
EDIT2: I'm pretty sure I've found it all. Back to posting new stuff!

Suddenly, this account is active.
Posted 5 years agoI've had multiple accounts here, as a result of my fursona going through changes. When last you saw me, I was pretending to be a pair of twins, Dray and Erika, and had an account created for "us". That account got abandoned after a big security breach several years ago, in which everyone had to reset their passwords in the aftermath. Among other issues, I was just kinda done with FA and left it for Weasyl. However, some folks I know keep linking some really good art here, so I've decided to reactivate this account so I can enjoy all the art that I'm missing out on.
Why this account, specifically? Well, I decided to end my twin roleplaying and just be myself, a decision which I'm glad to have made. As such, the majority of art I post going forward will be of my current self.
