Considering the last time I advertised it's existence on Glo's own server was in 2022, and the last time I did on a public blog I was on Twitter still... I have a discord server! Quiet admittedly, but it's there, and if my Heket/COTL mood hasn't abated after 3 years since release I think it's safe to say it's part of the culture too by din of being my discord server.

I know I tend to stick to Discord friends directly asking me for commission requests, but I do have four openings at the moment and it's been 2 years since the last announcement? Definitely time for a new journal for peeps who only follow me here.

I announced on my twitter that I'm finally opening commissions after it's been that long. Feel free to contact me through there or my discord account to claim one!

Ever since a few weeks ago I've noticed that my right arm hasn't been hurting nearly as much. In fact, today it barely hurts at all!

I'm still stretching it as I should and going to bed with a brace on it just in case, but I'm definitely feeling well enough to do some regular art again. I've been making Telegram stickers for myself and currently I'm working on a reference for my fox character. Once I got that done and made a new pin for my Twitter account I should be back to my regular art habits.

Sorry for pretty much disappearing after November without putting up new art anywhere, I just had a bunch of health stuff hit me around the beginning half of December.

To put a long story short, I got hit with a GERD diagnosis that I thought was heart problems until the diagnosis, along with a diagnosis of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome on my drawing arm at the beginning of December due to some of my finger tips going numb. I've been wearing a wrist stabilizer on it 24/7 since I got told about it and I'm fairly certain that it's been recovering since then, but until I get told by my doctor on a follow-up appointment next week about whether or not it seems to have healed I'm not certain when I'll be able to start doodling stuff again. I know if it needs surgery I'd definitely try to opt for it, I love drawing too much to just give up on it. But I most certainly don't have the money for it, so I'm just hoping to hear good news on that front.

As for the GERD diagnosis the pills I've been told to take have definitely taken care of that issue for the most part, and IIRC they only costed me $30 to get, and it came with two refills. I'm not too worried about supplying the funds for that if it's only every 3 months.

On top of all that I apparently have at least two cavities after a dental visit later that month, but I'm doing my best to pay that visit off even if it means putting off my wisdom teeth. Stupid x-rays and their costs.

This year's December was definitely a pretty sucky end to a bum year, but beyond the pandemic I've met some friends at the beginning of it who I'm glad to know.  malicthewriter is a sweet person who I'm glad to have met in March, and  cruxatronic inspires me with their ideas and artwork whenever we chat.  gloedik as well with just how much cool stuff they put out, and that's just the ones with accounts here. Definitely check out their work if you've interest in mine! I'm definitely hopeful to supply more once my dumb wrist heals.

Heads up that another mass upload of my art's going to be coming from my twitter at around Noon CST. Thank god for Postybirb for that considering my nocturnal ass wakes up right then.

Also a fairly obvious heads up that lately a bunch of my newer art goes up on there first before I get around to uploading it here, and I don't see any sign of that stopping myself. If you want to see them sooner and aren't already watching me on Twitter you can find them here! I could always use more followers!

Considering the DDOS drama that's happened, I just wanted to remind you guys that I have a Twitter account that I also upload stuff to.

I've gotten back into FNAF and have been uploading some of the art there. You can get there here!

With 2019 done and over with, I kinda wanted to make a quick journal about how my art's gone over it.

I'd say I have a few complaints, but generally I'm pretty happy with how it went art-wise: I've drawn more and with better detail/aesthetics than last year's art, which if anything is what I try to go for. I'm just going to copy paste what I said to be positive improvements and things to work on from a similarly-introspective post I made, along with what else I noticed.

The Good:
* Shrunk the lines I use for lineart and increased the size I use for my canvas from 2000^2 to 6000^2
* Moved from Paint Tool SAI to Clip Studio Paint around September-October
* Experimented with doing a relatively painted style on August and December, one for the background and the other for the whole final image.
* Started from having a Weasel to going with a Goosebumps Creep, then an eyeless Mawplant, and finally landed on using a Tree Frog as my representative fursona.
* Didn't finish it, but got roughly half of Inktober this year done instead of having a measly two finished. I even had fun with it this year!
* Fund an advertisement to put up on FA, which I think's at least gotten me a few extra looks.
* Most important, I've gone from needing art of mine to impress me before I like it to enjoying the drawing process and being able to always find something about it I like.

The (relatively) Bad:
* A few anatomy details I need to work on, but most especially my human faces. Sometimes they look decent, but often I'll look at one I made and find something off about it, even if I can't point out specifically what.
* Speaking of anatomy details, I feel like the poses I do have a lifeless or unnatural look to them, like they're being posed instead of doing an action/reacting.
* I ought to try working on techniques for doing shadows and employing light effects in my changes. I try doing the one-light source method, but I do notice it looks lacking at times, at least to me.
* I'm sloooooooooooow. I've been told that speed comes from confidence, but besides how messy my sketches/doodles tend to be unless I take the time to painstakingly erase some bits, I'm not happy with how long they take me to do. I have some friends who do some pretty cool art, sometimes managing a clean sketch that can be just colored in and they'll look almost like a full drawing. I on the other hand can take up to an hour and a half trying to get details right, scratching lines down knowing I won't do the same come the lining step. I'd like to be quicker and less messy, and if I can pick only one thing I'd definitely like to focus on this some more with the coming year. Perhaps doing more sketchbook/screen tablet doodles would help with this?

Besides art details, I found a boyfriend in  malicthewriter and I'm definitely glad I met them through their own Discord server! I've opened a public one myself (hint hint), started doing commission work in August, and even if I'm not at the point of at least filling all my slots when I open, I am pretty proud that I've been able to make some kind of money through drawing. It's definitely a goal of mine to someday make a living from it, something Malic's shown is at the very least someday possible for me, and that's a small step I'm especially proud of reaching.

Last year my New Year's Resolution was just to simply "Draw More", and I think I succeeded in that endeavor. This year, I'm planning to not just draw more, but hopefully learn to draw better in some ways, do more commissioned works, and try to improve my motivation and get to a point where I can draw more without burning myself out the next couple days from doing too much that day. I've seen others make a lot of art, and I definitely consider myself my own worst enemy when it comes to getting a lot done and out there.

Yeah, it's last minute, but I hope whatever holiday you're celebrating if at all, it's been good today.
