So I haven't updated much in quite some time. Besides the usual RL stuff going on between family, work, home ownership...I've been working with Cirrel on a story. Story doesn't cut it. Turned into a 140000 word monster! But it was great fun and a pleasure to work with him again. He's posting and hosting our story, called "A Sister for the Brothers" on his site. M'Nar

I received ads in the mail for politicians running for public office and it got me thinking. I thought of the old joke...

How do you tell when a politician is lying?
Their lips are moving.

Well it gave me an idea. Have a televised debate, stream it online. It can be for any level of office...state legislature, US House, Senate, President. And require them to be hooked up to a lie detector and the results shown above each candidate on a big screen.

I don't think any candidate would agree to be in that debate, but I'm sure the public would want to see it!

What are you thoughts? good idea yes/no?

What made you choose the species of your main fursona?

I always liked big cats, then when I saw the Sholan Alliance series by Lisanne Norman, I knew that was me.

Is your fursona just like you, or how you want to be?

My fursonna is basically me with fur.

Same personality.

Does your fursona have the same dislikes and likes as you do?

Yes.

Yes.

No, M'Nar is the only fursonna I have.

Do you have a back story for your fursona, if so dose it have anything to do with your own history?

I have a full backstory for my fursonna. I have the main bits on the Sholan Alliance fan club site. And I used my real past as the basis.

Is your fursona mated, if so is it to your real life significant other?

My fursonna has a mate. And my real life mate is the basis for her.

If not are they looking for a mate, or are they a swinger so to speak?

My fursonna is very playfull and fun. Sholans can have lovers outside of their current mate. They bond to raise their children, but as individuals, adults can spend time with who they want.

Is there something special about your fursona that you think sets them apart form others?

He's an adult approaching middle age, but is still very fun and playfull. You don't wanna see him get deadly serious.

Do you have much art of your main fursona/s?

Some, again the amazing Cirrel has done some Sholan art and M'Nar is in a bunch. He's done two pieces for me, then others using M'Nar to illustrate stories/games done on the fan club site.

Would you ever consider parting with your main fursona, if so why?

Never!!! M'Nar is me with fur.

If you suit, do you have a suit of your main fursona?

No. But I am slowly working on my own. If I win a lottery, I'm getting a few commissioned.

Yes. When I'm online, I'm M'Nar. Who is me. lol

M'Nar and I are the same. No difference except the fur.

Well, it's my birth day today...another year riding this rock around the sun. But this now completes trip number 40.

4-0. I can't believe I'm now middle aged lol still feel like a youngling, thankfully. Altho with two cubs, I easily slip into "Dad mode" ;) Nothing special today tho, just work and a regular routine, but the party's tomorrow. It should be fun, sounds like it's going to be a birthday/end-of-the-summer-blast.

Not sure what I would like as gifts, people ask, but I'm not sure. Maybe time to work on personal projects. lol I have some plastic models sitting half completed. Then there's the fursuit I'm working on. and my oldest cub says I need to finish it by halloween. So unless I get a week holed up in the workroom and cash to purchase the fur, that's on hold for a bit. :) My goal is to have it completed for Anthrocon next year. Debut my real self before birthday number 41.

So the hockey league I played in is over. I did have a lot of fun, and the team got better as the season went on. A lot of guys-this was their first time on an organized team in a league. And most admitted they need to get better, and the best way to do that is play. Learn from mistakes. So they had fun, and the last game was WAY better than their first game.

Plus a bonus, every team plays in the playoff bracket. top four play two rounds for the championship, bottom 6 have a small bracket for placement. That way every team gets one playoff game. We finished last, but won our first playoff game! Very thrilled, excited. Everyone was pumped because all played a hard, smart, full bore game. We lost the second game by 2 goals, but we still did better than we thought we would.

Everyone's already excited for doing a team in the fall league. We'll see what happens.
Overall a major success, and immeasurable amount of fun!

Then again, playing hockey is ALWAYS fun. :)

So I joined a roller hockey team for a house league-brother in law is running the team. I was hesistant, but joined anyway. First organized hockey in a while...due to having a family. The first game was last night, I filled in for their usual goalie.

I felt like I was in Slapshot. And no the good way. lol it's a house rec league, 4 on 4, and he's handing out lines, who's playing forward, d, etc.

It's a rec house league. Most guys can skate ok. Only one can skate backwards.
And I'm 39, the rest are in their 20s.

Is it bad when your own players fight each other in the 3rd period?? Even the refs stayed away shaking their heads. It stopped when I bellowed at them and basically scolded them like children. It's a rec league, not the NHL.

We lost 10-0. I only played 2 periods in goal. 23 saves on 27 shots, most high quality, tips, deflections.
Other goalie was 0 saves on 6 shots.

Can't wait until next game. I'm going to be on D-time to pull out my Chelios impersonation.

WELL, we're still here...not that I'm surprised. End of the world...I'm out of coffee at home, does that count? It's the end of a calandar....when that happens you get a new one. And the Mayans didn't have nice furry calandars to look at.

Want to know how the Earth really will end? Read "Death from the Skies" by Dr. Phil Plait...astronomer who worked on Hubble. He knows ;) A good read, 100% scientific accuracy. And fun. That's what I plan on reading during the holidays and time off from work.

Will that happen...probably not. Family commitments, people to visit. So who knows.

Wow-it seemed like we just had halloween, now it's the end of the year.

The Sholan Clan had our get-together for Mid-Winter Festival, which includes our tradition of M'Nar-Trimming. Plenty of fun by all. :)

I hope everyone out there will have a good holiday that you celebrate...I am partial to Mid-Winter myself...drums with scantily clad males...what's the downside of that!??

I guess it's time for an update...after a year. lol I got an old scanner from work...old but functional. So I plan on scanning in some old artwork I did from years ago. I'm almost done my story...editing the last part. Trying to get it purrfect...or as close as I can get. I'm balancing that with RL stuff...redoing my living room...removing wallpaper is the worse!!! And a busy work season...I plan on finishing the story by the end of November.
