He will be sorely missed, though I never met him IRL, we worked on writing projects together over the years.

This special day celebrates the "Stars and Stripes", the official flag of the USA!
This is a special day that usually comes and goes without much fanfare.

"I AM THE NIGHT" - (Episode from the Original Twilight Zo...
Posted 5 years agoWoke up early this morning and found an old Twilight Zone episode called "I Am The Night - Color Me Black" that featured some familiar faces George 'Goober' Lindsay as a mean Sheriff's Deputy and Ivan Dixon (Sgt. Kinchlow from Hogan's Heroes) as a Protestant Minister.
The plot of the story is a white man was scheduled to be hung for killing another white guy who was brutally beating an African American man. Remember, this was filmed in 1964 during the time of racial unrest in America, so the 'town people' backed the verdict and were outside waiting for the hanging to take place. However, it sky was pitch black that morning, even as the time moved towards noon. It was an eerie kind of darkness that ONLY covered that town. Even the Sheriff and Editor of the town's newspaper noticed the darkness as they discussed how vital evidence was withheld that would have helped the condemned man during his rushed trial. It was the Minister who observed the high level of hatred in the town and how that hatred seemed to be causing the darkness to loom over the town. As the hour neared for the hanging, the town people gathered and wanted the Sheriff to hurry up and kill the man. After the hanging, the sky got even darker. Listening to a radio, there were now MORE darkness regions on the earth that were growing,
Rod Serling's words about hatred being a virus really stirred me. It was as if he was speaking to this current generation of people all around the globe. Why is there so much hatred in the world today? Why are there so many divisions and more things that divide us than unite us? It's easy for us to point the finger of blame at politics, but there seems to be deeper divisions (especially in America) that go far beyond simple 'Us versus Them' politics.
Will a day ever come that all of us can simply 'get along' again? Be strong in our own beliefs while realizing that others may hold different opinions from our own? Why is it always "You Better Agree With Me or You're my enemy" kind of thinking that dominates society today? Between the Far Left, the Far Right, Political Correctness and Cancel Culture, are we getting any closer to a more unified society or drifting further from it?
I don't know. Perhaps this is why I prefer the fictional 'world' of the Colmaton Universe to the present situation in our own world. It's nice to dream, imagine and envision, but none of that solves our basic human problem: Can we all just get along?
Ok, my rant is over. I have disabled comments due to the fact that I'm afraid that commentary may become explosive arguments (which would defeat the goal of my ranting).
Just think about it, ok?

What one superpower would you like to have?

If you were allowed to have one (and ONLY one) superpower, which one would you choose and why?
And to set a good example, I will answer my own question!
If I could choose, I would choose a practical superpower that I could use in everyday life without the opportunity to abuse it for evil purposes (absolute power corrupts absolutely).
So the superpower I would pick is one possessed by my fictional superheroine furry, Babel.
I would choose the ability to understand and speak ANY language on earth!
THAT way, I could hold a polite conversation with ANYONE around me, regardless of their native tongue!
There, I answered the question, now it's your turn!

ZINGERS come to America!
Posted 8 years agoYes folks, KFC has FINALLY decided to introduce the "Zinger" chicken sandwich to America!
Zingers have been around for a while in other nations and gained quite a popular following!
I had my first Zinger sandwich yesterday and it's reputation was well deserved.
Though a bit overpriced in my opinion, overall, the sandwich is quite tasty. Very meaty with a nice spicy kick to it.
Not as good as a sandwich from Chick-Fil-A, but better than anything from McD's, Burger King and Wendy's.

First Journal Post of 2017
Posted 9 years agoOk, I haven't been posting here for a while, thought I should update it.
First of all, many things are happening IRL that are draining my free time and free money away. This means my story writing work has come to a near halt, for now. Also means, I may not be able to purchase artwork as frequently as I have in the past, for now.
Of my current projects, #1 priority will be "Ice, Ice, Baby" since it is a 'contest' story that I promised to write. My apologies to the three contest winners
jrcarter , 
wolfrider and 
ramaage for this delay. I will get this Agent Mojo story completed!
All other writing projects are on the back burner, for now. I thank members of the group for giving me many great new story ideas! However, for the moment, I won't be able to write them.
I honestly thought I'd had MORE time to work on all this during the holidays, but it just didn't work out that way. Many times life just doesn't go the way you plan it.
Once I get the contest story finished and my RL issues are at least under control, THEN I can do more planning, but until then, there's not a whole lot I can do, given my current circumstances.

Writing plans for the next few months (with one new idea!)
Posted 9 years agoJust a quick note to all of my watchers of my writing plans of the near future.
First of all, I'm currently working on the first of two planned submissions for wolfrider 's contest. Since the deadline for entries is fast approaching, those stories will get first priority.
Second, the Agent Mojo Contest story. This one will get next priority, but I am already formulating a strong plotline and a preliminary title for it: "Ice, Ice, Baby!" This story will feature our favorite canine British secret agent and characters chosen by contest winners wolfrider , jrcarter and ramaage
Third, I have an idea for a new story idea for 2017. Inspired by the recent remake of "The Magnificent Seven" movie, I would like to write a story that would focus on a group of non-Bureau superfurs who band together against a common foe. I may hold a random drawing (like I have in the past) to get members of the Colmaton group to submit characters for that story. As in the movie, ONE character would be the one to gather the group (THAT character will be one of mine) so I could offer the other six character slots on a random draw with the stipulation that winners can only choose non-BOS superfur characters (male or female).
What do y'all think of this idea?
