I've got some new print designs as well as stickers!!! I will be offering a handful of commissions for this con but might aim more at take homes for any painterly stuff.

I am also MOVING!!!! Like in 2 weeks!!! It's only a few miles away from where we live now, but my partner and I got an apartment and there will be an OFFICE and ART SPACE and I am SO EXCITED to be able to paint whenever the frick I want again.

And then I got AFC after that!!!!

Oh! I also got into MFF dealers. I think I goofed and missed the hotel lottery entirely so I AM looking for a room! :O

Figured I would make a bump again that I am looking for roomates for Megaplex!

I plan to arrive Thursday(Sept 28th) and Leave Tuesday(aug 2nd). I booked at the Rosen (though I didn't get the con rate -w-), so we're very close but not the main hotel.

I have booked a room and have one[s] potential roomate/friend coming along but it's still in the air have space for one more person, probably!

If anyone even has spare space themselves I am open to cancelling my reservation to bunk somewhere else.

I literally learned last night I got in to vendor! Something screwy went with the emails so I didn't get a proper notification, but I got clarification from staff and I'm in!

BUt the hotel block appears to be entirely sold out already.. and I've never even been to florida!

So I'm checking a little ahead of time to see if maybe somebody I know has spare room. I think it'll just be me and my stuff. I often have an assistant (boyfriend), but the travel is a bit too much and too soon for him for this one.

I tend to like having access to wahtever desk as I tend to do at-con commissions/paint on site a little. Otherwise I'm cool sharing a bed, people drinking, kink stuff(I will probably have my bag of pup gear I like to run around as a dog after hours), etc as long as it's not some crazy party room going till 2+ AM cause I have to get up early for dealing. -w- (if I wasn't working I love being part of party rooms otherwise lmao)

Both FC and PDFC went pretty great for me in the dealers den!

I sold out of my commission slots on friday so that was FANTASTIC and I was able to plan around my con a good bit better. I still didn't make it to the night market or party floor, but I wandered around each night a bit and would cross paths with friends to chatter with. A fun time, for sure. :)

I'm gonna go thru my phone a bit and tidy up photos I got of any traditional art I made or brought to the con to post soon. Only one piece sold in the art show, and my biggest regret is I only got 1 photo of it in its finished state with very meh-lighting. I can always make more stuff, I guess! :b

Thank you for all the support and love for art!!! I have felt very invigorated and inspired by all the awesome work I saw and the excellent conversations folks brought to my table.

Trying to upload some chunks of stuff I've done recently (or not recently and forgot to post).

Settled in decently so I've been drawing a lot more. This is the first time I've been drawing in a sketchbook regularly in YEARS. I want to start posting them regularly, but I will probably have to resort to phone pics for now.

I will be at AFC dealing!!! I might open for badge delivery there. But, I'm trying to wrap up a few things first.

TL;DR Anthrocon was great, should have a webstore soon for prints/etc, and I am moving AGAIN.

I realize I hadn't said much about what's been going on for me. Anthrocon went GREAT! I got to meet a bunch of awesome people, hang out with my friend  Paranoid thru the whole con, and sold a buncha prints and art. Good times, would vend again if they'll have me!

My roomate decided to sell the house/move out of state. I got to be here about 4-5 months but good enough, I guess. ;b

I was trying to wait a little longer/be more prepared but at this point I'm just moving stuff as I can every day or so. Should be wrapped up with that next week, or the week after at the latest. I'm moving in with one of my partners and his roomate. Still in the same town, just a different spot!

I kind of needed some recovery time from the con + moving + it's been incredibly hot so hard to do the manual labor of it/trying to time it when it's bearable.

ALSO I am hoping to finally have a webstore (via Etsy) next month! I am thinking about doing some extras (like offering simple sketches w/ orders over X amount) or something to try to encourage some sales.
I still want to figure a *personal* webstore, but etsy just has.. a lot of reach I don't normally thru my social media. So one of those starting points at least, I figure.

As well as will be open for stream commissions again, just.. let me get thru some of this nonsense first.

I want to open a web store, I've been saying it for years but I always find a way to distract myself. I did GREAT at Anthrocon, it was my first time there and I realized my 10th con vending at!!!!
I'd always been kind of put-off by shipping and it being another layer of things to keep track of, but sending out badges a few times over now has lessened that anxiety by a lot. This last year I've tackled a lot of "firsts" including flying out to a convention cause I always drive, otherwise.

My main site( https://www.mongrelist.com/ ) is hosted thru wix but I want to shift to something else. I kind of wanna just start over with an entirely new thing.

Squarespace was probably the most appealing option in terms of not being too expensive but having storefront stuff, but I dunno how much they.. help with calculating shipping.
Square was similar, had a friend reccomend it.
Shopify looks like a solid choice/works best for the store-stuff but I dunno how good it is for a portfolio site.
BigCartel was what I had my eyes on for a while now as it's a flat rate fee/only a shop so if I decided to do away with fancy-wix I might do that.
FourthWall was one brought to my attention; though I think they're better if you have a big big following already.

And then there's etsy! Which I'm honestly considering since it's an established market/people might find me easier outside of those who see my stuff at cons... but they're whole accepting AI kinda rubs me the wrong way. Plus, I've heard their rating system is kinda brutal (but that seems to be with most services that use ratings). But I can't think of an alternative to it, really.

So Tl;DR Either as an artist OR a consumer, what sort of online shops do you prefer? An artist having their own, or being part of a bigger market?

Bit of rambling/what's goin' on lately...

I'm moving at the end of the month and so I've been a bit occupied sorting thru stuff and prepping for that. I've lived at my current place since 2020 and it's been quite interesting to experience a 100 y/o house get renovated into the party house it is now. I've had very generous and great roomates, friends that have helped me out and given me the space I needed to get myself back together after falling into a shitty bought of depression. I appreciate your kindness to no end. <3

I'm moving in with a couple friends and will have a room to myself, so it'll be a little bit of an adjustment from having a separate office, but I'm looking forward to the change! Something a bit cozier and quieter. I'll be with a local artist friend of mine and their partner, so I'm excited to be with a creative again. We've collaborated already multiple times! Plus, I'm just moving like.. 20 minutes from where I'm at now. So still same community and stuff, same friends, etc. Just new location!

I have GSFC I'm vending at as well as I was accepted into anthrocon! I'm kind of really nervous on the second one, as I haven't ever been let alone travelled *that* far to sell stuff. I gotta look into some prepping for it. I already booked a room(and I will need roomates, I think) but I gotta look at flights and that is less fun.

I want to be caught up on my backlog by June. I'm aiming for April, but I don't know if that's actually realistic. I've surprised myself in the past with being able to crank out art, but the flipside is there's a good chance I hurt my arm and then can't hold a pen for 2 weeks right like last year. So.. balancing it. >_>;

I'm going to try to make more of an effort to upload stuff regularly. I might even just have a simple "post once a day" because I do have a lot of stuff I've just never... posted. It's personal, it's not "good enough", or I literally just didn't think to upload it at the time. I prioritize on getting art to the people I owe it to first and that's it. Once it's to the client then it kinda leaves my brain and I gotta get better about it. Social media hard and I don't really like it but it's how folks can find me so :T

I want to have a proper webstore up and running within a couple months. I have a lot of supplies for shipping stuff and outside of cons I just sit on my prints.. stickers... stuff... so... I should... actually do that. I get easily overwhelmed by new things so it's just sitting down and *doing* it for a whole weekend cause I can be slow at learning stuff at the start.

I want to travel more, too. Cons have been a cool opportunity to do that, but I end up just working them. I have a little bit of time for runnin' around and fun stuff, but I'm usually doing at-con commissions to help make the trip worth it, I guess? Perpetual work mind X_X

This year I am going to focus more on *me*, I guess. :3
