Need a Jolteon Build-a-bear?
Posted 5 years agoHi all, Ive been a little quiet since I've moved out, mostly doing private commissions via Twitter and Gmail but I'm definitely still around!
I'm just poking by to ask if anyone needs a Jolteon Build-a-Bear since he just came out!
They recently built a B-A-B Workshop in my area (FINALLY) So now I dont have to drive 4-8 hours to the nearest one, or miss out on the pokemon I've wanted.
If you live too far away from a B-A-B workshop and can't get one online (since they only offer the stupidly expensive BUNDLE ones >_> '' ) I'll be swinging by in the next few days maybe, so if you're pining for an electric eeveelution (Or Pikachu.) I don't mind grabbing one for ya, as long as you cover the cost of the toy.
I can grab him stuffed or unstuffed for you if you'd like.
They sold out of Flareon (I bought the last one for a friend |D. although they have the display one left if youre super duper desperate for it!)
They're $32 not including tax, or shipping.
As long as you can cover the plush cost and shipping to you, I'm happy to grab them for you at no charge. I just wanna spread the plushie love because I know what its like to live so far away from a friggin B-A-B. TwT
So, feel free to let me know.
In terms of "Trust" and "Reliability" in ensuring I don't rip you off, I have a lot of good feedback on etsy via reviews and such. So if you're comfortable, I'll be happy to help you get a Jolteon at Retail Cost + Shipping.

MOVING OUT! [optimistic vent]
Posted 5 years agoTLDR Version:
I'm officially moving out of my lifelong home, in with a friend who's very kindly taking on a majority of the financial burden. I've put money into savings so I'll do all I can to ensure that I will remain stable and safe without dragging him under if I'm unable to get commission work.
So, I'll be focusing on doing commissions FULL-TIME. Finally in a safe environment where my schedule & productivity wont depend on someone else's whims, moods or demands.
I'll be trading the problems I currently have for a whole new set of problems (mainly financial).
But at least struggling to buy my own food is going to be my own problem for ME to solve, rather than the constant guilt of food and other amenities being held over my head as ammunition by the 'authority figure' of the house.
It'll be hard. But I'm optimistic that it'll be good.
I want to thank everyone that's commissioned me over the past few years; I've been saving almost every cent I've earned with my art and its the only reason I have been able to build up a safety net of savings to be able to try and make this move.
And I'm looking forward to continue working on commissions so that I can finally do more than simply survive. I want to finally live.
After living in this house my entire life, I'm finally stepping out of my comfort zone in an attempt to move out.
I no longer wish to endure the abuse I've lived with all my life. Mother screamed at me to get the fuck out, and so I'm hoping to shock her and do just that.
You will see how badly you needed me. Since as with all things - you never know what you had until it's gone.
I've spent my entire life fawning to you, developing Anxiety and CPTSD as a result. Enduring regular nightmares and waking up to you kicking my door open to scream at me over something as trivial as a dish left on the counter. I'd understand if my behavior at times warrants irritation. But there is never an excuse to scream at someone, call them profanity-laden insults, and tell them they've never done anything for you when I'd given up my very childhood, teenage years, and young adulthood trying to be the confidant, advisor, and surrogate-spouse, housemaid, servant, chauffeur & slave you craved.
I bent over backwards for you. My entire waking and sleeping existence revolved around doing anything and everything physically possible to placate your narcissistic rage, treading a minefield daily praying to god you wouldn't explode because you overwhelm yourself with other people's problems, and then vent your spleen by using me as the timid, passive, willing punching bag.
The verbal and emotional abuse and manipulation was my normal, and has been up until I started working part-time at the college Theatre on a whim.
There I learned what it was like to be treated like a human being. With human decency, and even outright genuine kindness.
When the other student-workers would jokingly tell our Professor & Boss no, my stomach would plummet and I'd be filled with fear in anticipation of a screaming rage for questioning his authority. But instead, he laughed. The environment was casual, friendly, and kind.
On the first day we were asked to clean the theatre & all relevant spaces, and all the other student-workers refused to clean the mini-fridge in the break room because it was disgusting from students being messy the previous semester. Immediately I raised my hand to volunteer, willing to deal with the disgusting mess to please both [boss] and [supervisor], fearing that if no one volunteered they would immediately snap into irritation.
The two of them looked to me, smiled and thanked me for volunteering. I finished cleaning the mini-fridge in about an hour. My entire life has revolved around honing cleaning skills to meet mother's impossible standards. I know how to clean, and how to do it effectively without wasting materials. With the task completed I reported back to my superiors, who were genuinely pleased with how thoroughly the fridge had been cleaned, looked me in the eye and said: "Thank you for doing such a great job. And for volunteering, I didn't even want to clean it myself so I really appreciate it."
The day continued on, and I was given things to clean, tasks to complete. All without a single person raising their voice, or screaming at me. Never once saying the things I'm so used to hearing;
"You have EYES, don't you SEE THE MESS? ARE YOU FUCKING BLIND", "I don't care who made this fucking mess you'd better clean it right fucking now.", "Everything you've done is so half-assed. If you're going to clean at least do it right!", "I HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING FOR YOU, YOU LAZY UNGRATEFUL BASTARDS."
I remember finishing the day, clocking out, sitting in my car and just. crying.
Not because I was scared of my supervisor or boss. Not because they had been mean to me. But because they HADN'T. Because they had shown me the decent of being treated respectfully, and even gone so far as to genuinely thank me for doing something as basic as cleaning a mini-fridge, all while also paying me minimum wage to do it.
I always imagined getting a job being the same as at home & school: a miserable experience where everyone torments you psychologically, emotionally, physically, ordering you around like a slave, finding a flaw in everything you do. But my thought process has always been
"But Ill be compensated with a paycheck so that makes it worth the abuse.". But being at the theatre, I learned that isn't how it has to be.
Every day for an entire semester I worked with these people, who praised me for everything I'd do for them and valued my hard work, and my willingness to take orders. Mother had raised a subservient obedient child. But had I not been blessed with such kind and decent human beings as my first-ever real-world-job employers I very well would have ended up in the hands of an unkind supervisor that would easily take advantage of my damaged psyche that values being "a valuable obedient servant" over my own self-respect as a human being.
And after that experience, it just really highlights the injustice, cruelty and abuse in this household.
So when she screamed at me to "Get the fuck out", and my friend was over listening to it the next day he said he'd be willing to let me go with him. I've been given such a fortunate opportunity and so I'm taking it.
Life is never easy, we cant plan it all out and things are hard. especially as the world is now. But all we can do is try our best to improve our situations and ourselves. So that's what I'm hoping to achieve.
thanks for reading my long info-dump ramble. I'm just super passionate about Mental Health Advocacy and stuff so I'm sure theres lots of others in a similar situation. And man, I am here for you. And you are valid. There is no excuse for abuse. You deserve more than to be someone else's servantmaid or doormat. You're a person and you have a right to human decency just like everyone else.
Please take the time to try and re-learn what it means to be a human being. It's taken me 25 years to realize I have been brainwashed into thinking being a subservient, people-pleasing, masochist is the only way I could prove my value to others.
But the only people who want submissive servants are narcissistic control freaks (who may also need to find their own help someday too.)
We ALL have to strive to better ourselves, and that's what I'm determined to do. For my own sake.

Making a Mature/NSFW Art Account?
Posted 5 years agoEDIT: here u go, a Mature/NSFW account. But dont get your hopes up TOO high LOL. IM A SHELTERED MORON.
achromaticagent
I've spent a long time here on FA, and I'm no stranger to NSFW/Mature/Adult/Explicit artwork!
I've always primarily been a SFW artist - mainly because I've always been pretty easily flustered or embarrassed in creating NSFW content myself. I certainly have no issues with it. It's just generally not something that's any more or less interesting to me than general sfw art.
I mainly don't draw NSFW content out of a mix of my own embarrassment, and as an aromantic + asexual person, there's perhaps some deeper emotional appeal I may inherently just not understand?
But I really enjoy drawing shippy art, BL Artwork, and snuggly, intimate character interactions. Just because I, as an aromantic person, have no romantic interest in others doesn't mean I don't find such content heartwarming and sweet. And it's just lots of fun to draw. And the older I get, the more I've come to understand and appreciate NSFW illustrations, even if hasn't always been a major fixation to me as a person.
So, I've been kind of pondering on the idea of maybe attempting to dabble more into Mature/NSFW art?
I love drawing bodies, and practicing anatomy especially of the torso. So it would also let me not have to throw clothes onto everything and everyone! XD
Admittedly, I am an incredibly sheltered little bean so what I might interpret as NSFW is probably actually very tame, LOL. So I'm thinking I might try to dabble into Mature-NSFW art. Such as, imagery that fits more on the "Mature" Tag, and maybe not outright "Explicit".
I made a secondary twitter account to post the less kid-friendly art onto as a few examples:
https://twitter.com/AchromaticAgent
So I was thinking, maybe making a second FA account to post Mature/NSFW art and YCHs to? I prefer to make it an alt since I'm primarily a SFW artist on my main.
I dunno. What do you guys think? :3c

PATREON

I decided to go ahead and make a Patreon! You're by no means obligated to join it, but it has the benefits of showing the WIP process of each of my illustrations, collections of personal sketches, and other various sketches I typically don't post online or flood my FA Gallery with.
So if you like seeing the artistic process, learning drawing techniques, or giving me some guidance on the kind of work you'd like to see me draw you should check it out. There's also animated .gifs of the process from sketch to finished illustration!
There are some fun perks too! (Free personalized sketches, commission slots and YCH stuff)
Let me know your thoughts on it, as well as the types of rewards, tiers, and content you think would be the best.

Lost.
Posted 6 years agoI'm just so lost, man. I don't know what to do.
Everything I draw feels pointless. If I'm not being productive then I just feel like I'm wasting precious time I could be spending working on some art project.
I want to do comic stuff but my art just isn't good enough. I just don't know what to do.
everything I draw just looks awful. I haven't been able to draw for weeks, or work on anything decent in months.
Its been years since I've felt this bad, and I don't know what to do to get out of this terrible feeling. I want to draw, but nothing comes out how I want. I want to draw, but its so frustrating, nothing is going how I want. I can't think of any decent project to work on or work towards besides being a slave to commissions.
I just don't have the passion for anything and no motivation anymore.
What do people do all day if they aren't drawing?
How does anyone cope with sitting around being unproductive?
How on earth do you teach your mind and body to relax and that you don't have to be an overly-productive work-machine to feel like you have value?
I'm just so lost. :'c

Life update! Commission Price Adjustments?
Posted 7 years agoHello! I try not to post too much about my personal life online, it's not always super relevant to my artwork, nor am I fond of dealing with a 3rd or 4th stalker...
BUT. This does indeed affect the productivity at which I do produce and post artwork!
I'm currently taking theatre classes and it eats up literally all my time between 8am-10pm Mon-Thur, and have work on Fridays.
So I'm only free on weekends, which are dedicated to relaxing and working on commission art still owed (most of which are really large, detailed pieces.)
So I won't be accepting any new commission work for a while, especially if its larger high-res work.
I've also been kind of suffering from major burn out on a lot of these larger commissions, so I've really been thinking about raising my prices, so I'd like to hear any input if anyone has any, let me know!
I'm enjoying theater though! I was cast in an original stageplay written by one of the students. I get to be a comedic gay guy that swears a lot. (I never swear IRL so, it's an adventure for sure haha!) I'm having fun!
TLDR;
Mono is busy, cannot dedicate a decent chunk of time for commissions to be completed as quickly as he'd like so he's not taking any for a while.
Also considering raising prices for larger/more detailed/multiple character pieces. Please give input!
I'll still be lurking, just don't have a lot of time for posting art.

Doing art for a visual Novel Game! - Kickstarter!
Posted 7 years agoI'm super excited to announce that I've been enlisted to be part of an indie team that's working together to develop a Visual Novel game using the Ren'py software!
I've always wanted to do artwork, portraits, or CGs for a visual novel but I'm not very good at coming up with my own story,
So it's super exciting to be given the chance to illustrate CGs and other artwork to help bring someone else's project to life!
It's hired work so the developer has posted an IndieGoGo to help raise funds for the project.

New Year!
Posted 7 years agoWelcome to 2018 everyone.
Sorry I've been fairly inactive the past few weeks, the holidays have kept me busy so I closed commissions a few weeks ago.
I've been getting a lot of interest in FaceRig / Live2D models, numerous people have requested them on commission. I've gotten at least like, 4 messages or more?
Things have gotten a little jumbled up since I've had Notes and PMs from as far back as 2 years ago. I've purged the entirety of my inbox to start 2018 off fresh, and may be limiting the number of PMs I can accept. Im slowly starting to prefer Email for commission discussion but I'll still leave PMs open for commission work.
If I did owe you artwork, or we were discussing some artwork but I have yet to give you a reply, do let me know.
I may take on commissions here and there but I'm trying to knock everything out on a first come, first serve basis since I've had a surge of interest in the Live2D models that's almost a little overwhelming (but in a good way).
I hope I can do a bit more personal artwork this year though, since a majority of what Ive done is commissions, but i LOVE working on commissions so who knows haha!
I will have a college course coming up later this month that may slow me down a bit again but I'll do my best to lurk even when I'm ultra busy.
I hope 2018 goes well for everyone!

Busy busy busy!
Posted 8 years agoSorry I've been a bit inactive lately. I've just been so incredibly busy.
I had a lot of fun traveling to visit my fantastic friends, but still have yet to catch a break from all the busy chaos.
I hope to art soon, but it's increasingly hard to focus in general, atop near constant interruption since I have to run so many errands.
Ill be leaving in a few days on yet another trip for a family thing.
I'm excited but also wishing I could do a bit of digital art on the go.
Does anyone use the cintiq companion, or like a windows surface tablet to draw? Something that let's you draw without being chained too a desktop computer? I'd opt for a decent laptop but my intuos tablet is pretty bulky and too fragile to carry around.
Ive been pondering on getting some sort of screen tablet to draw while I'm not at my desk but I'm not sure what would be a good option. So if you have any opinions on one I'd love to hear it as long as it can run Photoshop and clip paint studio O:
Other than being busy, things are going pretty alright. How about you guys?

Considering getting a job, any tips?
Posted 8 years agoAs much as I wish I could make a living off of just my artwork alone, I don't make near enough to afford rent, let alone food or bills or anything.
Since my sister has moved in, our dwindling income is being stretched to it's limit, and with my final class coming up in a semester or so I suppose it's time I started looking for a job, though I've never had one before. (Outside of artwork commissions, but everyone in my family seems to think they don't count.) I've got a degree in Graphic Design & Animation, and am working towards getting a Certificate in Game Creation but that's about all I've got.
I'd say just about anywhere to start would work, but I've learned that over the past 3-4 years the pain in my foot that has caused me to walk with a limp has progressively gotten worse and that I've now been actively tearing the tendon in my right foot and the arch has collapsed, so I cant get a job that requires much standing or walking.
If I stand in one place for more than 4 minutes, it hurts.
After 30-45 minutes, I can physically no longer stand and have to outright crawl for the rest of the day. So that makes finding some place to work a lot more difficult.
My friend got a job as a cashier and complains about how bad his feet hurt, and he's lacking entirely in any foot injuries or problems so I cant even begin to imagine how quickly that would utterly destroy me.
I know searching for jobs is more of a local thing but I'm mostly just asking for some ideas, like what kind of jobs I might be able to do that let me sit most of the time? Working at a call center or something? I'm just kind of hoping for some ideas or tips.
I'm tired of struggling financially every day and feeling guilty about being a pest to my mother's fixed income while expenses just keep rising.
As such, any sort of suggestions or comments, tips or even just conversation might be handy! \ o /
On a side-note, my friends and I have started a small business selling our artwork as keychains, buttons and more. If you'd like to support us, please check us out here:

Home from the Convention, but not for too long!
Posted 8 years agoI'm finally home from the convention shenanigans. We all worked our hands off preparing keychains and prints and buttons. This was my first time ever having a booth at a convention and selling my artwork, and it was a blast!
I was able to break even on the button machine, a lot of people liked the pin buttons. So I'm tempted to offer them online in an Etsy shop or something, maybe even take button commissions if anyone would be interested in 1.5" buttons.
I was also able to sell at least one of my dakimakuras, I ordered 3, so I have 2 left over still.
I'd to order a few more, so I might open pre-orders for the 9s & 2B, and Chrom dakimakuras, so if you were interested in either of those two I drew let me know.
So I'm back for now, but will be leaving on the 22nd to go visit my lovely buddies
fearzy,
rondonu and
lanuitetoile
I'm excited to see you guys. \ ; u ; /
It'll be my first time being on a plane, so if anyone has any tips for first time flyers let me know cause I'm nervous as heck haha!

Closing Commissions until August + Convention Preparation?
Posted 8 years agoTLDR; Closing commissions, working on cosplay + stuff to sell at a convention & would love to hear some advice!
Greetings all!
I'll be closing commission for July & into August since I'm busying myself with preparations for a convention which happens during the first week of august.
I have two cosplays I'm making (Noctis from FFXV & 9S from Nier automata), as well as preparing artwork for prints & pin-back buttons to sell at the table my friend and I are sharing.
As such, this stuff keeps me pretty busy and eats up a notable amount of my free time, so it's best for me not to accept many more commissions before the workload becomes unmanageable.
I may do a few sketch commissions but anything more than that will take too long to juggle with the current number of projects I'm working on.
As for Convention preparation, I've never had a table/booth thing before so I'd love to hear some tips from people who sell at conventions, or buy from artists at conventions.
I'll be selling pin-back buttons,
I have a Square card reader so that I can accept card transactions,
and I know I'll need cash and small bills on me so I can break larger bills and provide change.
Does anyone have tips on:
- Where to order prints?
- Displaying prints, artwork and other merchandise?
- Doing sketch commissions at the convention?
- What sort of characters would you like to see pin-back buttons of?
- and just, any other tips or suggestions?
I'm totally new to this sort of thing so I'm not sure what to expect! If you have any advice please let me know! c:
Current commissions to be completed:
- 3D modeled character for DeviantArt user
- Illustration commission for
iwai
- Illustration commission for Riv
The artwork shall be completed soon, and feel free to PM me to request an update any time! Thank you all so much for your patience!

- Illustration commission for Riv
The artwork shall be completed soon, and feel free to PM me to request an update any time! Thank you all so much for your patience!
Why do you watch me? What art do you like seeing from me?
Posted 8 years agoI've been here on FA for several years now, and while at first I felt very much like a stranger or outsider to this site & community as an artist who primarily draws human characters, I find myself checking FA far more frequently than Deviantart in recent years.
I feel like artwork is more appreciated here, as well as this community being very focused around everyone's personal or original characters.
As someone more inclined to draw OCs over fanart, that's a lot of what I like about posting my art here! It feels a lot more connected than placed like deviantart where people only care to look at your gallery of its full of fanart, at least that's how I feel, not that I dislike dA.
I'm rambling a bit, but I'm curious:
What made you decide to watch me?
What is it that you may like about my artwork?
What do you like seeing from my art, or what would you like to see more of?
Do you have any suggestions on where you think I could improve in my artwork?
Thanks for watching me, and for taking the time to read my little journal. I hope everyone has an enjoyable week!
