New to glasses, send help?
Posted 8 years agoDue to my vision doing crazy stuff for over a year, as explained here:
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8110235/
I got my eyes examined, and though the doctor didn't really seem to listen when I tried to explain that my vision goes crazy at seemingly random times (aside from casually saying its could from eye strain and possibly low blood pressure. But didn't really diagnose the problem or ask me to go into detail), I was told I have astigmatism and was given a prescription for glasses despite having 20/20 vision.
I do a lot of squinting, and my eyes feel a bit crossed but my vision is never blurry. Aside from my eyes feeling tired, and the occasional crazy oscillating vision + dilated pupil I'd say I'm mostly okay.
But I got a prescription for single vision glasses.
The doctor didn't really, explain. much of anything.
I was told tow ear them when reading or at the computer. I spend 10+ hours at the computer so thats pretty much all day unless Im driving, honestly.
So I just, have no idea what to expect with suddenly being given glasses to wear.
So I have glasses now, but I feel like its harder to see with them on.
The guys at the frame store said it'd take a while for my eyes to get adjusted to these new glasses, but I'm sort of half-panicked and half-okay.
Anyone who has gotten glasses a bit later in their life, or remembers getting their first ever pair of glasses, did you find text on paper/screens a little blurrier or difficult to read? I'm not totally destroying my vision if I wear these for two weeks trying to get used to them right?

Anyone else experience shaking/oscillating vision?
Posted 8 years agoJust a bit curious, as this is something that I have been experiencing for a little under a year now (probably longer but only started documenting it months ago)
An experience in which eveerything in my field of vision is shaking or oscillating rapidly from left-to-right / side-to-side. The shaking intensifies the longer it lasts.
Only horizontally, never vertically, diagonally or sporadically in multiple directions.
When this occurs, those who I have asked to look into my eyes see no movement, so my eyeball is not looking around on its own. But they described the pupil as being very large, dialated.
The shaking lasts seconds or even a minute or two, and feels like vertigo and makes me pretty dizzy.
It used to only occur when I read text, I thought it tu be triggered from the left-to-right tracking movement if reading words, but if just occurred as I was looking at something in the shelf several feet away and persisted much longer than it ever has before.
I hope to see an optometrist soon, but was curious as to if anyone else has experienced this sensation and may have some knowledge as to potential causes.

Looking to buy a new tablet in the future, any suggestions?
Posted 8 years agoGreetings!
I am quite curious as to what sorts of tablets other artists use to draw.
I have used a Wacom GD-0912-U & GD-0608-U for the past 3-4 years. ( They're both technically the same model just different in the drawing size (12"x9" & 6"x"8") )
I'm a monster, and I've gone through three of these things now:
http://i.imgur.com/SkNwE7Q.jpg
The tablet part works, but my third and final pen is half-broken.
The third pen is only half-functional. Despite being lifted from the surface of the tablet, it still thinks it is touching the tablet an continues drawing everything as one long line: http://sta.sh/02dklh1bt4wx
These pens are increasingly difficult to find for this ancient relic of a tablet. And when I can find them, they're usually being sold as collectors items at a somewhat high price. And since the third pen I bought was sold to me half-broken, I'm finally considering upgrading to a newer model of tablet with pens (And pen nibs for said pens) readily available for replacement with how prone I am to breaking these things.
I've tried Huion and Monoprice tablets, but they lack the "mouse-mode" that Wacom drivers have.
I have tried the Wacom Intuos 3, but the drivers drive me insane in that, the pen strokes are not at all smooth, which is shocking compared to my outdated, ancient GD model:
http://sta.sh/0bu630ronri
So I'm mostly only interested in Wacom brand tablets, but Id like to hear about what sorts of models you sue, and about their drivers.
So, if you know of any decent models around a Medium size (preferably no smaller than 6"x8" )or have one that you are personally selling I'd be interested in hearing about it!
I can continue using it for a while, but its incredibly irritating to work with since its registering as a held click and often drags everything all over the canvas in Photoshop and causes all kinds of mischief. I just really need to upgrade. These models are around 10 years old and the pens are just such a pain to find nowadays, and there's always the gamble that Ill end up with another broken pen.

Art Trade?
Posted 8 years agoWould anyone like to do an art trade or anything?
All my characters are human, so if you can draw a human I'd be happy to consider.
I like drawing human characters, but I'll draw furry/anthro too
I like action scenes, dynamic poses and violence. And cute things, all sorts of things.
If you're interested, show me some of your artwork, send me a link of something in your gallery you'd be willing to do.
Just don't say you're up for an art trade, and then go two months without finishing your half lol.
We can just do sketches to keep it simple if that's easier for you.
just something to keep me from sulking the rest of my weekend away. It's nice to have something fun to work on!
* Okay, gonna have to stop before I accept everyone's BUT PLEASE comment still if youre interested so that I can chat with you up after I finish the ones Ive accepted currently *

Talk to Mono?
Posted 8 years agoI saw someone else post a journal like this, and it seemed fun.
I'm also a terribly lonely, lonely soul.
Ask me questions, or my OCs if you know of any of them. xD
Maybe tell me about your OCs?
Whats a drawing you did that you're currently proud of?
I'm so bored and lonely right now ;w ;

What art do you like to see? What do you like to draw?
Posted 8 years agoI'm not really sure what all people like to see artists draw.
Personally, I like drawing action scenes, dynamic poses and good 'ol fashioned violence.
Cute stuff's always fun too!
I love the look of anime stylized art, but I like all sorts of styles too.
What sorts of art would you might want to see more of? I'm not taking requests or anything, but I'm just curious what people look for when they're browsing for arts.
Or what sorts of things do YOU like to draw?

RIP my car battery - Commissions Open
Posted 8 years agoI've had my car for about 4 years, and now it just wont start. Did a bit of looking around and I'm fairly certain the battery just needs to be fully replaced. So I'm opening some commissions to help cover the cost. Around $100 or so to get a decent battery for my otherwise fully functional vehicle.
I love my car, the poor thing. ; w ;
So I'm willing to draw anything from sketches, to fully colored fullbody character(s)
Also, school starts soon so if youre after a more 'finished image' that's not a YCH or just a sketch,
Ill be able to work on it much faster now. After the 16th, Ill be a slave to school and may only open commissions for sketches and post YCHs
Prices/Examples here:
http://sta.sh/21r9mzyk78q0
(prices may change depending upon complexity of the image)
$15 sketches:

2. Open
(Willing to open extra slots for sketches since I can complete them fairly quickly)
Anticipated Commission Work Hours:
10am - 6pm Mon-Fri
(May work past 6 as I have a tendency to focus for prolonged hours)
Estimated time of completion; within a week after payment.
However, keep in mind that I am the designated errand-runner of the family so there may be delays. They make me use the other car. It sucks. Id rather run their errands at least in my own car lmao //cry

What are you Halloween plans?
Posted 9 years agoHello all, I'm just sort of lurking here quietly, been having a hard time focusing on art, like my head's been stuck in a fog.
BUT, its almost halloween, wowow. So close!
Do you have any plans for Halloween?
Will you be wearing a costume?
Anyone get any pretty Halloween art of their characters?
A think a friend might come over to my house and chill out in costumes and such, maybe. Not sure.
I'm either going to wear my old Jedi costume, or a Spyro Dragon Kigurumi if it arrives in the next few days. Or just not do anything lol.

Computer help? Unable to write files to harddrive.
Posted 9 years agoI'm looking for some help or suggestions on how to resolve an issue I am having with my computer.
I've installed a SSD drive as my primary drive, and moved the original harddrive as a secondary drive.
The SSD only has 100gb of space, whereas my original hard drive has 500gb.
My computer boots up quickly now with the SSD, and my harddrive works fine, however I am unable to write any files to the 500gb harddrive, or overwrite/save any documents currently on it. Which is really a pain because all of my artwork, and pretty much everything is on the harddrive.
If I open a PSD, and try to hit save/ctrl+S, it says I do not have permission to write to this drive.
Which means I'd have top copy the file to my SSD drive, work from there, then cut > paste it to the other drive, which really throws off my workflow.
I can copy > paste files to it (but only after receiving a Message box asking for my permission to do so)
It's probably just a setting somewhere, and I tried giving my User permission to write to the drive but it still wont let me Save files, or install programs on it, so perhaps I haven't found the correct setting.
If anyone knows how to resolve this annoyance simply, that'd be pretty dandy! :3
. . . .
Outside of that issue, I've just been so busy with homework and errand running and babysitting and entertaining guests and seeing family and then being tired from it all that I've not had much time to draw in recent weeks, thus I've been rather quiet. But I'm usually lurking here.

YCH suggestions?
Posted 9 years agoGreetings all!
Mono here. Lurking quietly.
I've been wanting to draw up some YCHs. I dont have time for full on commissions from scratch, YCHs are a little faster for me to finish up, especially now that I'm back in school with quite a bit of homework.
So if I were to offer YCHs in the near future, what sorts of YCHs would you like to see?
Some with 2 characters?
Cute couple ychs?
Or ones with just two pals hanging out?
Any sorts of themes or prompts?
Dynamic full body poses?
Any suggestions? :3

$30 sketchdump commissions
Posted 9 years agoWould anyone be interested in a sketchdump of doodles of your character(s)?
5 doodles per sketchdump. May or may not include a half/fullbody doodle.
Regularly sketches are charged for individually (headshots $10 and fullbody $15 ) so a sketchdump page for one flat price gives you a handful of doodles for a fraction of commissioning multiple individual sketches. Only catch is that they must be of the same 1-2 character(s) and allow me a bit more freedom.
Examples:
http://sta.sh/01hzi5pi1bzp
http://sta.sh/02c0cu7wimeg
http://sta.sh/0jaov80i16r
http://sta.sh/0txdugbp1dw
Rules:
- Can suggest poses/expressions, a theme, or let me just wing it.
- Very detailed characters may be simplified as these are only sketches.
- 1-2 characters allowed.
- Payment requested up front via paypal only.
Otherwise, anyone have any suggestions as to types of commissions (or even jsut artwork in general) they'd like to see from me or anything? :3

Break.
Posted 9 years agoNot going to be very active. For a few days or so, not sure.
Just really out of it lately.
Feeling quite sad, but not necessarily a bad, horrible kind of sad.
Sorry to those who have expressed an interest in commissioning me, just can't bring myself to sit at the desk to draw.
But you can always ask again, any time. I'd love to draw for you sometime soon!
I'll be around on my phone to check messages and things though.
I'm still here just won't be uploading much for a bit I dunno.
Who knows man!
How about you? Having a good day? I hope so, everyone should have a good day :D

Art Streaming Commissions attempt...? (OFFLINE)
Posted 9 years agoI'm going to try and stream for a while, so if you wanted a quick sketch commission for tonight I could draw it on the stream?
I've never done anything like this before so I guess we'll see where it ends up?
I'm sort of experimenting with different methods of sketching and shading so it's a little different from my usual work.
These will be sort of just, artistic freedom for me.
You can suggest a pose and a theme of course, but please don't get too knit-picky, thank you! :D

Artwork and Watermarks
Posted 9 years agoRecently an image of mine, that was a collaborative piece between myself and a friend, was taken and posted on instagram.
My watermark removed, most of the image cropped, and someone else was given credit for the image.
Fortunately, the image was fanart rather than either of our personal characters. But seeing that my name was cropped out of the image is like a slap in the face, and that someone ELSE was given credit for it, like rubbing salt in an open wound.
I am an incredibly passive person, if someone asks to use the image I would have gladly obliged them as long as proper credit is given. But simply taking it and removing my watermark is truly the fastest way to persuade me to no longer post my artwork online. period.
I'll be putting more obnoxious watermarks on everything. If you thought the watermarks I had were annoying, they'll become far more of an eyesore now. I'll likely be placing them in the character's hair rather than just a corner of the image so it cant be cropped off and removed so easily.
I've had plenty of images stolen and used without my permission, many people have even tried to claim that they were the artist, or that the character belonged to them. This is why I put watermarks all over the place.
Please keep in mind that NONE of my images are to be resposted.
And that EVERY IMAGE uploaded here in my gallery is a low-resolution watermarked version of the original. I do not post the full resolution, high quality, original image online anywhere. These are specifically for personal use, to be saved only on my hard drive, or the commissioner's harddrive.
Not to be sold, redistributed, altered, edited, or sold for any form of currency digital, physical, orotherwise.
If you commission an image from me, You will be given:
1. A full resolution image with a signature in the corner, free of an huge watermarks on top of the characters/illustration.
This will be for personal use. Keep this saved on your computer, you can use is as a wallpaper, etc.
2. A lower resolution image with 1-2 watermarks on it.
This is specifically for re-uploading purposes.
An obnoxious watermark discourages people from taking and using the image, sparing me; as the artist of the illustration, and you; the creator of the character a bunch of annoying people who don't realize how many hours go into making a character or illustrating that character, that jsut take an image and do whatever they will with it. God forbid they recolor it into "their own character" or have it printed on merchandise to sell or god knows what else.
I apologize that I have to put glaringly obvious, and likely hideous watermarks on my images. But I'd much rather have my name plastered all over them, than for people to crop or edit them out and post them online without giving proper credit, or sell them or something crazy.

Art Trades?
Posted 9 years agoEDIT:
Art trades accepted:
1.
shorty-antics-27 [Full Illustration] (Progress: 100% - COMPLETED)
2.
evilkitsune71290 [Cell shaded character] (Progress: 70% - inked, flats, background, needs shading)
3.
LadyVenomMyotismon [Undecided] (Progress: 0% - Talking...)
Still chatting with 1-2 of you, but as much as I'd love to, I cant do them all at once otherwise I start getting crazy stressed out and panicking if there's more than 3-4 things on my to-do list!
But please, continue replying to comments if you've got your heart absolutely set on it.
And as always, if you feel there is any delay or some kind of issue please send me a note!
I've been sort of stuck as of late, simply unsure of who or what to draw.
So I was thinking of maybe doing an art trade?
Although 80% of the time, I finish my half in a matter of days, and then I don't hear from the person I was trading with for months, if ever again. Which is a bummer, man.
I'd really like to do them, but many people just, jump at the chance without realizing that they're also going to have to spend some time on something in exchange?
So I'm more asking to do an art trade with someone who is not already up to their neck in other commission/work/school/art trade stuff they have to do, no one needs to pile up the to-do list to the point of stressing themselves out, that's no fun. That'd drive me insane if I were in your shoes! XD
So even something like a simple sketch that doesn't take long would be fun! Fun is the goal!
Drawing should be FUN! *throws confetti everywhere*
98% of my characters are human/humanoid/kemonomimi so anyone comfortable with drawing humans is welcome.
I like drawing many things; Furry characters, Humans, Kemonomimi, even Feral animals so almost and and all kinds of characters are welcome.
If you're interested, show me some of your artwork, send me a link of something in your gallery you'd be willing to do (sketch/line/probably not full color if it takes you 2

Will art for Gameboy Advance SP
Posted 10 years agoIf anyone has a Gameboy Advance SP (and/or a charger with it) that's just sitting around, I'd be happy to do some artwork for it.
I'm willing to do $30-$50 worth of artwork to cover the thing and shipping for it.
Or, alternatively, I could create a 3D model of your character if it includes a charger and/or anything else you're looking to get rid of with it. ($75 value):
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18010427/
Although a model might take a whiiiillee longer than illustrations and may need to wait until I have less homework.
As an update with life in general.
Holy poop, school. So. Much. Homework! How are you guys doing?
