PAX South
Posted 9 years agoHaha, I don't create things anymore for fun, only profit.
I'll be at PAX South this weekend for some strange reason.
If you want to punch me for not drawing, let me know. I'll prepare my sensitive regions.

Wrestling With the Wily Weasyl.
Posted 11 years agoI started a Weasyl account in hopes of it encouraging me to draw more.
Which is a thing I'd love to accomplish.
Regardless, we should be pals there.

Time keeps on tickin'
Posted 11 years agoI lust for the old days of drawing and dreaming.
My current days are filled with work and bills.
There is still a great passion inside me for art.
May there be hope in the future!

Goin' to Japan y'all
Posted 12 years agoHello friends. I'm heading to Japan for a while in my search for new tastes and cooking experiences.
I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for places to visit/things to try!
I'll be there for three weeks, and I'm definitely open to ideas!

FWA Late to the game
Posted 12 years agoHowdy folks. I know it's super late to be asking, but is anybody still looking for roommates for FWA?
My housemate and I plan to be there Thursday through Sunday, but it's kinda all up in the air now.

Posted 13 years agoHurricane Isaac didn't hit New Orleans as hard as expected, thankfully.
Had power out for almost a week, but no flooding which is terrific.
Time to go jump on fallen trees and play with downed power lines!

AC was fun
Posted 13 years agoJust arrived back in New Orleans sometime after midnight. Something in my head made me expect to find the 16 roommates waiting for me at my home. I had a good time. Going to conventions really makes me want to do more with my work.
Absolutely exhausted. Perhaps I'll make a more solid post later. But without a doubt I enjoyed my experience, and miss everyone very much! Y'all the best!

Furry Questionnaire Extraordinaire
Posted 13 years agoTook this little survey from the charming
redacteur
1. How did you discover this fandom?
When I was around 15 or so, I was given a 'How To Draw Cartoons' book by a relative. I remember being fascinated by the two or three pages demonstrating 'Funny Animal Characters' and became obsessed with drawing them. I was in love with old comics with all animal casts, like the Pogo series. Eventually the internet came along, and I discovered a heap more of online comics. I prominently remember Ozy and Millie, as well as Sabrina Online as the first comics I got into. Down the line, I found more and more material, eventually discovering that many people out there shared the same interests. Go figure.
2. Did you participate as soon as you could, or did you "lurk" for a while? If so, how long?
I lurked for a very long time. I joined a message board for a brief time, and basically just browsed around FA for about two years before getting the courage to try to draw.
3. What was your first contact with another furry in person?
A good friend of mine from high school days slowly hinted at our shared interest. Eventually we became really comfortable about it with each other, and would send links back and forth of artists we admired. I didn't actually go out of my way to meet someone until about 2009-10, when I road tripped out and met
rabbitshakejake and
zoemoss which was an absolute pleasure.
4. What is you level of involvement with the community? Do you draw, write, build costumes, participate in forums, etc.?
I attempt to draw when time permits! I really wish I could be more involved in it. I've been to several conventions so far, each one more fun than the last!
5. Did you like anthropomorphic animals before you found out about the fandom?
Absolutely loved them. From all sorts of old cartoons, and even mythological creatures. They were all so interesting to me! Well, they still are really.
6. Did you begin creative activity (drawing, painting, writing, music, etc.) or greatly increase your creative activity after finding the fandom?
It was a while until I had the courage to try my hand at drawing publicly. After finally going through with it, I feel my creative activity has without a doubt increased. I have the craving to draw more often than before, that's for sure.
7. Counting both online and offline interactions, do you spend more leisure time with furries, or with friends not involved in the fandom?
Lately, it's been about half and half I'd say. Sadly, most of my friends were very openly against any mention of the fandom, so I've been pretty secretive about it up until late. The way I figure, I should just do what I like, and people with either deal with it or not.
Yup.

Furry Weekend Atlanta -aka- Feline Whiskey Affair
Posted 13 years agoA limerick concerning this past weekend.
There once was a cat named Mook
Whose love of parties was no fluke
Much booze did he drink
Til he barely could think
But luckily never did puke.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FWA was a blast as always! Not only did I get to see some of my best furry buddies again, but I certainly met some great new friends this year! There was not a dull moment at this convention for me, and I totally can't wait for the next one!
I'm hoping to attend AC again this year, and possibly sell prints, badges, and maybe even recipe books if I can manage to get my shtuff together.
Meanwhile, I'd better get back to the drawing board. Definitely feeling inspired after all of this fun!
Thanks again everyone for making it such a memorable experience! <3
Lookin' for a FWA room~
Posted 13 years agoOh hi! FWA is coming up, and it looks like I may need a room after all. Is anyone looking for another roommate?
I don't mind sleeping in the sink. I do, however, come packaged with whiskey accessories and a kung fu grip.
Also, I totally shower. Which is a good thing.
