Submission deleted + New album update
Posted a year agoHEY, I deleted some music submissions from my gallery, this was to keep it more organized and highlight the drawings. You can still listen to the songs on my Spotify, YouTube or bandcamp (Lontra Mark). Some songs are still here but were moved to Scraps, including the wips and my sketches.
Regarding the SOL album, I changed its name to 'Otanov Prologue', I don't know when it will be ready but it still on early stage now that I've changed the mixing sound and started to make the lore for it.
I will still post music here but after some time it will be moved to the Scraps tab like the others!!

Songs with the same riff
Posted a year agoI find it interesting that some songs have the same riff in them, I had seem some which I don't remember their names but I know 3 that I like that share the same riff, Topless by Breaking Benjamin, Voices by Disturbed, Manifest by Starset on the chorus and perhaps Ball and Chain by Any Given Sin? , this riff seem also to be very present on the rock community as well, there's probably a lot more songs that use it, like it's some kind of public melody to use... I'm yet to make a song using this riff, I actually already did but it was a shitpost song using fl slayer
Tell me if you know more songs that share this same riff!!!!

Dawn thoughts #1 music
Posted 2 years agoWell I just wanted to write something about music, so here we go...
Sometimes I wonder... 'is my mixing good?', to be honest it is good to me, maybe different, I have my own style I guess, but it works better on a headphone, playing it in a speaker will suppress some synths and the bass will mostly prevail, at least it sounds good if you like songs with strong bass lol...
My kick also sound weak, I still don't know how to make it sound more present without bursting the sound... but that's my fault 'cause I don't like to watch tutorials on how to xP
Am I creative? to be honest again, I only like my recent songs, starting with Poseidon and going forward to Oblivion (not elder scrolls related!) and so on... Empty Equinox is an old exception, that shit slaps and you can't say otherwise!!!!!!!!
Most songs I make (wips, scraps, etc) sounds bad, believe me, but I guess that makes part... I just suck at learning. Sometimes I end up making something good (my recent songs, well) and sometimes I end up making something bad.
I was impressed by someone that looked like they had 200+ fl studio projects a long while ago and now I was struggling to organize my own 200 .fla folder (I could delete 80% of them since they're all crap but tbh I don't even remember what they have inside)
Do I make too much patterns? That would be more of a genuine question, my last song had 101 patterns and my average is 60-70 for metal songs and ~30 for electronic... I don't have problems finding what I want though, but I don't organize nothing at all nor I name the patterns or channels or anything really... I don't need to I guess. I also don't use the channel rack, at least not to put notes... it feels useless to me... I know there are people that make a whole song using only one pattern, GET AWAY FROM ME
You don't want to hear my old stuff, I used to make things using FL Slayer, I don't need to say any further, right... Fl Slayer is mixed in a very weird way and it sounds loud asf... I challenge you to make a good song with that... I might give it a try as well... maybe change the guitars of one of my songs to FL Slayer and see what happens lol (I'll probably comically explode)
Aaaaand that's everything I wrote! *Cahem* if you're wondering if I'll ever make a song with vocals, the answer is yesn't

Lontra Mark project
Posted 2 years agoI think I never really said much about Lontra Mark, so I'm creating this journal to explain it better and share ideas... :P
First of all, Lontra Mark is my music copyright, or you could say it's my artistic name on music, but I see it as a project rather than a nickname. I didn't put my name ''MooNique'' or other name related to my visual art because I wanted to separate my visual art from my music...
- MEANING
So I created the name Lontra Mark. Lontra means Otter in Portuguese, I've put it in my language to be more of a unique name since Otter Mark would sound generic or maybe someone has already used it before. The name itself means ''Otter Milestone'', and not mark as in marking something, but as in objective. I made it like that 'cause I simply like otters, they are cute, so I named it after them.
- MOOD
Most songs have a happy mood in them... in further projects, starting with the AFTERWORLD single, I want to give the songs an inspiring, emotional and even cute mood at the same time within a heavy tune, 'cause I'm still a furry after all. The single itself starts with an uplifting vibe and slowly falls into an emotional atmosphere towards the end, ending completely different from how it started. Probably most of the songs from now on will be like this.
- UNIQUENESS \
Most of the inspirations I have are from STARSET, Breaking Benjamin and Will Ryan (Mostly known as DAGames), you can hear in the Afterworld single all of these inspirations put together as well. I don't think I'll change the over all mixing that I have now, maybe on some songs that would sound better with different mixing but in general I will try to keep it sounding mostly the same if I can.
- IDEAS \
I don't have much ideas recently... After I finished the 'The Cube of Time' album, at the time, I had some ideas for other songs such as the 'SOL' album, that had 3 finished songs (Pulse of the Earth, Empty Equinox and Deep Neptune), it is still on the shelf for now, but in time I will continue it... There was also another album I was thinking on making (Also, yes, I prefer making albums over single songs, mostly because of organization I guess...). It is for a specific project I'm making which I'll not share at the moment, but it would not have rock songs, only electronic and other type of music. Speaking of other type of music, the MooNone themes will also have their own album, it will take a WHILE 'cause there is a lot of characters and probably the albums will be separated on parts, but these will also be electronic and more lighter rock songs such as the Petalle theme which is rock but it's not heavy at all and I didn't even used a guitar on it, it was just some stuff with distortion.
The genre of the songs will depend on what the story or character is. 'Afterworld' and other recent songs I did don't really have a story nor they are character themes, but Afterworld does has a meaning, marking the end of a ''era'' I had with Lerot&Zerot ('Failure 1' and 'The Cube of Time' albums) for Lontra Mark. Lerot&Zerot being my second most developed story (behind MooNone). I don't speak much about it 'cause it still on development, the albums were basically a sketch of the most important events of the story, each song from the 2 albums represent something from it. I wanted to make a comic but holy shit imagine drawing entire big ships on different angles so many times. So I rather make a literature post to tell it, I'm just afraid that I might not be able to tell it properly using English, but we'll see.
(PS: expect ANOTHER remaster of the song Black Flag soon, it will be like the 6th remaster I make of this song. Making it sound good is my martyr xD) It will be tough for my pc to do so, my songs keep getting heavier (NO PUN INTENDED), and my pc struggle to do it, sometimes dying in the process, 'cause we're talking about FL Studio after all... I literally need to close everything before opening the projects or else it will be like when you create a 10000x10000 canvas on ms paint.
But that's it for now... I also want to make faster and heavier songs (As in sound now) as well, but it's harder to make a 180bpm metal song and all... I did some before but nowadays I don't have much ideas for a riff this fast anymore.

No music + more text about music
Posted 2 years agoThere will be no music for some time cause my headphone broke, I'll buy another one soon...

I think I'm getting better at doing music, I've been changing a lot it sound throughout the time, and I finally got a mixing that I'm comfortable with (it being the mixing of the last 3 songs that I uploaded), It's not perfect, it could have more punch but I'm still working on it... I still need to make the kick sound more present without making the other instruments go extinct when it kicks.
The plugins I use to make the mixing are all default ones from FL Studio and they might be not the best option I think. At least I could make the 'bass' better throughout the time, I remember I didn't even used it when I first starting using Odin. Speaking of this guitar, I tried using other guitars, but although Odin doesn't sound realistic as some other guitars (anyone can tell it's a VST when hearing it), it still sounds heavier and more aggressive than the others so I kept it. I use DVS Guitar for solos and etc too.
For the drums I use the Mt Powerdrum kit, to be honest in my opinion the default sound of it is bad and I don't know how to make it good mixing it, so I place another kick and snare behind it to make it more powerful. For the bass I use Odin as well without distortion with BooBass behind it. I used to use an actual bass VST but I decided to not use cause my PC sucks and it was harder to mix...
For other synths/electronic instruments I use Refnexus, I tried using Serum but I didn't liked it.
About my latest songs, I actually liked 'Afterworld', I didn't liked 'Erase it' that much though, maybe just the verses, I liked the dark and void-like vibe of it... I'll probably change some things on it before it releases for real, and at the time I was doing it I got out of ideas in the end so I repeated the chorus and the bridge. All these songs are being inspired by BreakingBenjamin and STARSET, I wanted to make some songs that would kinda sound like if they were both making music together like in Waiting For The Sky To Change... That's mostly my general inspiration right now. I still want to make some heavier songs, like System of a Down or Slipknot-like songs, it's just that is harder to get ideas for that... and more songs inspired by Metallica as well (Like 'Poseidon').
And I also wanted to say the reason that I don't sing, it is because I don't know, I can only scream, low or high, but I wouldn't make a song with only screaming so yeah... I definitely don't know how to mix voices as well cause I never reeeeally did it.
That's all I wanted to say I guess, there will be no drawings too cause I'm only drawing on paper right now, when I finish it I will digitalize. Good night or day!!!!
