Welp. After a lot of thought and soul searching, I've decided it's time for this moose to retire from the furry art game. I'm about to turn 40 and I think it's just time. I've changed and so has FA, so it's time for me to find some greener pastures. Thanks to everyone for all the love over the years. I truly do appreciate it. Wish me luck everyone!

Hey all! Sorry to say that there will be no new story today. In fact, I'll be taking a small break from story writing on here. I have loved writing all these stories but with everything going on, I just really don't have the time to dedicate to writing/art. A little glimpse into what's up with me, my 2022 ended with the pipes on my new house freezing and then bursting in that cold snap we got, which cost a pretty penny. So I'm working more than ever while still just trying to put the house together. So I just need to take a little time to get things in order!

Of course, I will still be around and will still post art when I'm able! I love all the friends I've made on here. Your support is what has helped me through the rough times. Truly, I am grateful for the little community we've built here! No matter what, I'm keeping my chin up! I'm hoping I'll get everything in order soon and get back to doing the things I love: drawing, writing, and giving furries boners! But for now I'm going to take a little step back! Thank you all for understanding! I really appreciate all the love and support over the years!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to hop on and explain why I've been so quiet this week. I moved into my new house! Much excite! It's been a crazy, hectic week but a good one too. The one problem is the internet company screwed me over. Despite multiple calls to make sure the internet would be transferred in a timely manner, the company sent the tech to the wrong address. And of course the tech couldn't just come to the correct address (even though they admitted it was their mistake) so I have no internet. 😥 Which makes uploading art a little difficult. I have my phone but all my art is on the computer. Hopefully it will all be sorted out soon!

Either way, I'm so happy to be in my new house and I'm settling in nicely! Can't wait to be back on here as well! I miss all you beautiful creatures! Thanks for understanding! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! ❤️❤️❤️

Hey all! Sorry to say that there will not be a new chapter today. Things have just been too crazy around here and sadly, I don't have the next chapter finished. 😔 I'll share a little life update with you all as an explanation. If you've kept up on my journals then you know I have a new job in anticipation of buying a house. Well, I was unable to buy the house where I live. I put in an offer on another house, was accepted, but the deal fell apart on Friday when the inspection revealed that the foundation needed major repairs. So instead of writing, I spent the weekend looking at houses. Which is important cause currently I will have no place to live come December!

Don't worry about me though! I'm staying positive. Found a house I like that hopefully will work out! Sorry there's no chapter today! Things are crazy right now but I'm hoping to be able to get back on schedule soon. I'll keep you all updated! As always, thank you for all the love and support! It really helps keep me going! Hey everyone! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I just want to start by saying thank you for all the love and support! It truly means the world to me!

So, the other day I got some crazy news. Long story short, I live in an apartment. It's a house that's separated into two units, upper and lower. Pretty common around the area. Well, my landlord has apparently decided to sell the house. Which means that very soon, I'm going to either have to find a new place to live or buy the house and stay. It took me a little while for my panic to go away XD but once it did, I decided I'd at least try for the latter. So I'm going to try and buy this house. Which sadly means I need to find a new job, full time with regular pay. That translates to me having a lot less time to work on my art.

Of course, I really enjoy painting buff furry dudes doing all manner of things to each other, and I especially enjoy writing the stories for you all! And since you all seem to really enjoy storytime, I really want to keep it going. I will always be around on here, even if I can't contribute as much as I have in the past couple years. The friends I've made on here are truly fantastic, so I'm not going anywhere. I'll just be a very busy moose. If I manage to pull off buying this place, there's also a ton of work the current landlord has been ignoring. And if I don't get this place and have to move, the world is wide open. I might find another place locally or I might move to another state! I've always thought about making a crazy move like that, so who knows what the next six months will bring!

Hey everybody! I hope you all are doing great! So, it's my birthday tomorrow!
To celebrate, I'm going to head up north and spend some time communing with nature! Basically, getting in touch with my moose side! Accordingly, I won't be around for the next few days. I'll try to check in but cell/internet service is very spotty where I'm headed. Which means I'll probably be quiet for the next few days! Hey y'all! I'm sorry to say that storytime will have to be delayed this week. I've just had some personal stuff going on and wasn't able to have this week's chapter finished on time. I have the art, but I don't want to skip the accompanying part of the story. So I am sad to say that there is no story this week. Sorry to disappoint. I truly appreciate all the love and support, all your interactions with my stories have been so amazing, which is partly why I don't want to rush something out just to have it for this week. I'll be back with the newest chapter next week. I hope it will be as awesome as you all have been to me!

New stuff, stories, and underwear! Oh my! Hey all. Hope everyone is having a great week! It's almost the weekend. Let's celebrate! Just wanted to give you all a little update about what's going on with me and some new stuff I have planned coming in the new year. First, I started a Twitter for my art. I know I'm late to the Twitter game, but I finally did it and signed up. I'm hoping to be able to connect with some new furry folk and other artists. Plus it seems like a good place to get some commissions. I'm not going to do exclusive content or anything, it'll be the same artwork I post here (if anything, I'd probably do exclusive stuff for here, but right now that's not part of the plan). Of course, Fur Affinity will always be my first home. I love all the people here and the wonderful friends I've made! I just want to spread the fur love a little wider! If you're on Twitter, my handle is jaw1983 Hit me up! I'm still figuring the site out (I'm old, cut me some slack XD) but I'll start posting there as well starting next week!

Second, storytime will continue as usual, but I have an idea for a reboot (I guess you could call it that). One of the first stories I did was The Intern and I never felt like it got the proper treatment. I mean Jim and Max weren't even full-fledged characters yet! Plus my artwork has come so far since then that I feel like it deserves a proper telling with some fresh art! I'm going to switch it up a little bit character wise. The boss will still be Max, but the intern will be someone else besides Jim since that moose is spoken for! I was thinking maybe Bruno for the intern. Diego and Tom also need to make their debuts in the stories. Any ideas you all have for who the intern should be are more than welcome! And while I'm rebooting things, I'm going to redo some of the intro cards for the cast. Nothing will change about the characters, but I feel like some of them could use some updated artwork!

Third, I'm actually going to start WOOF brand underwear (although the name might change depending on availability). This is something I've thought about for a while. For some reason, there's a serious lack of sexy underwear available for big and tall guys or guys who prefer boxers like myself. I like to feel sexy too and it's hard when the skimpy underwear I buy online barely fits on my body no matter how big a size I buy. This project is the one that needs the most research and work, so I will have more updates on this over the summer. I am definitely planning a commission sale to help raise funds for seed money (sewing machine, material, etc.) instead of doing a kickstarter or something like that. The details of the sale will be posted soon, so if you were thinking of getting a commission, hit me up soon!

Anyways, that's pretty much everything that is going on with me! Not too much will change here on FA. Keep an eye out for the rebooted 'The Intern' coming your way soon. Hey all! Just wanted to share a little update. Two of my friends are moving out of state and I have volunteered to help them! So I won't be around for a couple days mid week as I am traveling with them to help them unload and set up their new place. Then I am shuffling back! Hey all! It's my birthday today! I'm having a great day so far. Had a busy weekend, doing a little pre-celebration, and am enjoying the successful completion of another trip around the sun! Saturday I went over to my mom's and she made a delicious bday dinner! She's a great cook, so that was lovely! Last night, I played a little Overcooked with some friends online! It's a fun, co-op game and we had a good silly time! Today, I'm just having a nice, chill relaxing day! No pants and no shoes or socks! (At least until later) Me and Rocky are hanging out and being lazy. Later some friends are going to take me out to dinner at my favorite local spot! Gonna get a tasty burger and look at the lake! Overall, it's been a fantastic weekend! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend as well! Thank you all for the continued love and support! I like to take a little time on special occasions to reflect on the things that I'm grateful for, and all my friends on here and the whole FA community are definitely at the top of my list! I'm also taking a day or two to just relax! I work on my artwork and stories pretty much every day in some capacity, so I thought it would be nice to just do nothing for a day or two! Hey all! Sorry for my absence the past couple days. Tuesday night, some more storms moved through my area and knocked out the power AGAIN! Around 8 on Tuesday, I lost power and it wasn't restored until around 3 this morning. Plus it was around 100 degrees (Fahrenheit) all day yesterday, and I had no electricity all day! The fun never ends! I spent last night and Tuesday night sitting in lantern light, listening to a battery powered radio, and reading by flashlight. Which actually wasn't that bad if it hadn't been for the heat! I normally sleep with a fan on, both for the noise and the cool air on my face feels good, so my sleep cycle has been terrible! I hardly slept at all on Tuesday and finally fell asleep around 1 this morning lying on my living room floor in my underwear cause it was too hot in my bedroom! When the power came back on at 3 I woke up just long enough to turn my fan on high and crawl into bed to get a few more hours of sleep (I get up at 530 every morning). So this moose is a little sleepy today! But I'm doing good nonetheless! The weather has cooled a little this morning and I will go shopping later to replace all the food I had to throw away! It should be a good day!

Hopefully this journal wasn't too much of a bummer. Just wanted to explain where I've been the past few days and share a little of my life with you all! Hey everyone! Just a random journal today. There was a crazy thunderstorm that came through last night! Normally I love a good storm. Especially at night, there's no better sleep than on a rainy night! At least for me. However, it's less fun when said thunderstorm knocks out the power in the middle of the night. I was woken up at two-thirty in the morning when the power went out. The thunder was so loud that it was rattling the windows! Rocky was barking cause he thought someone was trying to get into the house! So I comforted the doge and got him back in bed (yes he already sleeps in bed with me ) but then I couldn't fall back asleep. I always sleep with a fan on. I like the noise and the cool breeze on my face. Without it, I have a hard time sleeping. Plus, there was so much lightning I could see it through the curtains and my closed eyes! Needless to say, I'm one sleepy moose today. And I couldn't even make coffee this morning! The power finally came back on about an hour ago and I finally got some caffeine in me! I'm going to have a good day regardless! On the plus side, the storms broke the ridiculous heat wave we were having! It's actually gorgeous out right now!

Hey everybody! Just wanted to share a little life update! Over the past few months there's been an empty spot in my home. Or at least it felt that way after Odin's passing. I've been working through my grief but I still felt lonely without a dog in the house. So when the opportunity to adopt a rescue dog came up, I decided to go for it. I thought giving a needful dog a good home would both help me with my emotions and be a great way to honor Odin's memory. There's no replacing him, but I think he would want me to help a fellow doggo. And I know he would have wanted me to be happy! So I'm happy to say that on Friday, I was able to bring home Rocky! He's a Shiba mix (at least I think so, the foster agency wasn't exactly sure), 5 years old, and is settling in nicely! He had a rough road to get here. Sadly his younger years were full of neglect and abuse. The poor guy has some scars to show for it. But now Rocky has a forever home with me! And I'm going to make sure he has the best life a dog could ask for!

However, one thing is that with bringing Rocky home this weekend, I haven't had as much time to devote to my artwork as normal. So this next week may be a little light. Story time will commence as usual, but I just don't have as many paintings ready as I normally do. I hope you all understand! I really appreciate all your love and support! As consolation, I have some real fun stuff in the works I think you all will enjoy! As always, thank you all so much for sharing in my life and my artwork! Hey all! Just wanted to take a second to say a huge thank you to everyone for all the kind words and condolences after the loss of my beloved pup. All your love and support truly means a lot to me and was a tremendous help! I love getting to talk with every one of you, it puts a smile on my face and brightens my day (especially when I'm having a rough one). So thank you all so much! Getting back into creating art has been good for my spirit as well! And if you're just here for the art, that's cool too! I appreciate all the support and I'm going to try and keep improving my craft!

Speaking of which, I thought I'd take some time to give a little update on the art front! I love trying something new as an artist, so on top of consistently trying to improve my painting, I've also started experimenting with some digital painting! You might have noticed some fancy new backgrounds in the latest story! I think it can make a piece a little extra special so I'm going to try to do more! Also, I thought I had completed the permanent cast list, but recently I've been thinking about adding a couple more characters to the regular roster. I want to formalize a second wolf character cause I'm having fun with the wolf pack theme and want to keep that going. I also got a request to make my lion character a regular cast member, and I think that's a great idea! Any other requests for specific animals? I was thinking perhaps my rabbit/jackalope could make a comeback! Let me know what you all think!

Sadly, my dog Odin passed away on Wednesday from heart complications, so I just needed to take some time to grieve and get my head on straight. Hello again everybody! Just wanted to take a moment to spread a little thanks and give you all a little heads-up that I won't be on FA as much this week! With Thanksgiving coming up this Thursday I'm going to be very busy with family and friend activities, and therefore will not be able to post my normal amount of artwork. I'm hosting a dinner for my friends and then going to my Mom's for dinner on actual Thanksgiving so it's going to be a hectic week. But hopefully a great one! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, not because of what it celebrates necessarily but because I love to get together with good people and eat delicious food! Plus we should all try to find things in life to be grateful for even if they're hard to see sometimes. The dinner I'm having for my friends is the first time hosting a Thanksgiving dinner and I'm very excited! I love cooking and Thanksgiving is like the Superbowl for chefs! I've spent all day cooking and prepping stuff and had to put my artwork on the backburner a little. In fact, I just pulled a cherry pie out of the oven! I won't be totally absent, I've got a couple special pieces to share with you all, but unfortunately I'm going to have to skip storytime this week. However, I am working on a story that I hope you will all enjoy that will start next week instead! So please forgive my absenteeism this week! I'll be back!

Hello again everyone! Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend! I woke up this morning to some very nice weather, which is a relief from the terrible heat and mugginess, so I'm having a great day! I've been trying to think of some ways to interact with you all more. So I'm going to start journaling more and I would love to hear from you fine folks! As a part of that, I was hoping you all could help me come up with some names for some of my regular characters. I'm working on putting together a roster of the animals that appear regularly in my work and I'm hoping to turn them into more tangible personas. And I realized that I haven't even come up with names for most of my creatures! Of the few characters that have names, I've already asked for help from my watchers and I really enjoyed hearing all of your suggestions. So I thought it would be a fun game to revive! The idea behind coming up with an official roster is so that I can have my watchers more easily suggest who they'd like to see more of and most importantly, what they are doing with one another!

I'm starting a series of paintings called "Introductions" sort of like a reference card for each member of the cast. The first two characters that need names are actually two of my longest running characters. My moose and grey wolf! I've never really come up with an official fursona of my own, but I'd say the moose is probably the best representative of my personal character. And the wolf has made so many appearances simply cause, well, I think wolves are hot! The first intro piece will be the moose which I'm going to post this coming Thursday, then the wolf next week. I would love to hear all your suggestions for names for either one or both! The more the better! Please leave a comment below with your ideas!

Aside from just helping me name handsome animals, I was thinking about doing some more sort of confessional journals: talking about art, movies, music, and just life in general.
