Future Adopts? Palette Ideas?
General | Posted 7 years agoI'd love to do some smaller adopts! Things I'd be selling at a flat price for $25 or something like that.
I'm not really the best at designing (in my opinion) but I still love doing it - I was wondering if you guys have some ideas for adopts!
Feel free to comment with a species and palette suggestion! I may pick it for my future adopts! Mini Rant
General | Posted 7 years ago//Edit - I found the “new washers” its ONE new washer in the whole laundry mat. Out of 20ish washers - ONE is new -.-
Okay so this a pointless rant - but a rant nonetheless regarding the laundry mat in town.
My apartment (Has 8 different households per apartment building) each building has ONE dryer and washer for $1.50 each. The dryer doesnt even dry btw and their REALLY small. Like fits 3 towels
So i typically go to a laundry mat because of the better prices and holds more. Ive been going to my laundry mat for a year now and the 40% of the washers are typically always broken. But their $0.75 so thats okay - cant expect much.
Anyway they had an advertisement saying “NEW WASHERS! $1.00” and of course im sad cuz the price went up but hey - new washers?!
So I go in - these are the EXACT SAME WASHERS - same scratch marks - stains - broken doors/etc. NOTHING NEW.
So without thinking anything of it - i put my clothes in and detergent and go to start The washers - turns out its $1.50!!!???
There are only three working washers that are ACTUALLY $1.00?! But theres no indication that those washers are cheaper/more expensive?! Theres NO DIFFERENCE?!
Not to mention theirs no signs regarding the change of price too??
I know this is being petty and I shouldnt complain but Im still mad -.-Mini Update <3
General | Posted 7 years agoI just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been patient with me while I am currently working outside of art!
I also wanted to let everyone know that starting Sept. 6th I will be starting my Junior Year of College! Woo! I'm almost done!!
As school is approaching - I am planning on returning back to my normal life of working solely on art once I complete all my current commissions (looking at somewhere around early to mid September!)
This time around I plan on closely monitoring my income from commissions so I can better manage myself in the months to come as art will again be my only source of income during the school year. With this also in mind - I plan on doing more commissions that I find myself more interested in (IE: YCH's) with set amount of slots "outside" of those YCH's but they would be limited and I'm hoping to set a better schedule for myself.
Hoping that all of these changes will make this current school year and art making much more smoother and enjoyable! I look forward to being more active again soon!!

Today has been so wonderful, I woke up to several greetings this morning which made me smile to no end.
After my boyfriend returned home from school we went to our local Humane Society where we applied to adopt two adorable rats <3!
(Currently waiting on approval from the shelter and our landlord)
And then I went out for sushi with my boyfriend too <3! When I got home I was surprised by DragonlordT who gifted me some amazing stuff on one of my favorite video games (League of Legends) - I truly am speechless.
Today was very relaxing and happy, the type of stuff I love <3!
These past few weeks have been stressful, so it feels so nice to have such amazing people in my life, on FA and at home. I can never thank you guys enough.
(Btw - I also start my new job tomorrow and then head off for the weekend to end my birthday celebration <3! I am super nervous about my job tbh, but it's being conflicted by my excitement of hopefully getting two handsome rat boys lol)

Mini Update + Future Commissions
General | Posted 7 years agoAs of currently, I have 4 commissions left on my queue and a YCH. Tomorrow is my birthday and the following day I start my new job then I am going away for the weekend to celebrate my birthday.
Because I am starting a new job, art will be slower and with that, I'll also be closing commissions.
Future commissions will be through journal openings and YCH's.
I have noticed that as of lately, I feel like art has been more of a chore than fun for me and I hate feeling like that. I love doing art and I still do! While people have some amazing ideas and I'd love to take on more commissions, unfortunately I am a slower artist and i am unable to produce large quantities of art. Because of this I am unable to work on personal art and commissions. It seems like I'm constantly working on commissions and never working on art for myself which ends up making me feel unmotivated or dull.
I really wanted to continue doing commissions as normal but due to my financial issue I cant.. So future commissions will most likely be through journals and YCH slots. I still hope to do things like telegram stickers, reference sheets, etc. but they will be of limited quantity and first come, first serve.

General | Posted 7 years agoNot quite sure why I'm making a journal for this, but I am going to anyway.
If you ever have to draw the same character/multiple characters - multiple times (IE: Ref Sheets, Telegram stickers, Etc.)
Try to draw the character in a specific style at the same time!
(IE: If your drawing chibi's on a ref sheet, draw them all at once. If you need a break, take a break and then do full-bodies all at once)
I noticed while making my larger ref sheets and telegram stickers I typically take multiple days or drawing with breaks in-between (in a span of a few hours). When I take breaks however my style tends to change even the slightest!
Such as I tried drawing several muzzles, but if I did each one after a break - each nose looked different! xD ugh!

General | Posted 7 years agoAs you may be aware, I just recently got a job in order to help cover my roommates part of the apartment (quite unexpected but what can you do ^^")
But I just got news from my boyfriends family that they will be going to the Philippines - May 2019! They invited me to come along, but I have to raise some money for the cost of flight! Currently I know the minimum cost will be $600 on my part.
(If you didn't know, my boyfriend and I are both half filipino <3 so it'd be so nice to see both of our families back in our mother's native land!)
My boyfriend already has his ticket covered and now I need to cover mine!
All future commissions will be going to this fund <3

Where can I buy nice leggings?
General | Posted 7 years agoThis sounds like such a silly question, but I'm honestly trying to find comfy girl clothes and it's super hard apparently ><
Half of my time I find myself wearing my boyfriend's clothes cuz their shirts and so much comfier and their shorts!
I was hoping to ask for some advice xD if anyone knows some cheap clothing places that sell NICE leggings.
What I mean by nice is like, I don't really like those felt leggings cuz they get ruined in the wash, and I don't really like those super clingy leggings etheir (you know, the ones that ride up your butt cheeks)
The only pair of leggings I have that are comfy are a pair for walmart (but the waistband is slightly too loose even for a small) and I have a nice pair from rue 21 but they seem to only carry high waisted which don't really work for me ; ; (I really like the leggings that are fabric feeling? Like cloth but not felt and don't stick to my buttcheeks like glue)
(I'm 5'1 and 145lbs xD so I'm kinda short and have a booty rofl)

As some of you may know, Burnt’s (burnt-sonic) birthday was April 29th! And like the horrible friend I am, I was unable to do anything for his birthday.. But alas! Even though his actual birthday has passed, the celebration has not! We wanted to celebrate Burnt’s awesomeness in a “Free-Art Stream” open to viewers!

General | Posted 7 years agoThat moment when it's mid April and it was just 50'F, yet the next day it drops to under 30'F with extreme snow storms/hail/rain/thunderstorms and nearly the whole state has to be shut-down due to weather conditions.
Come on spring! I had such high hopes ; ;

General | Posted 7 years agoJust got back from fishing with my boy (5 long hours xD no bites... oh well, he's a happy camper haha and we did a mini hike around a lake so I can't complain tho my hands smell like rotten fish bait)

Boredom sucks

Clarification regarding Commissions?
General | Posted 8 years agoSo it came to my attention that maybe I should clear something up when it comes to how I do commissions.
#1 - My flat colors are typically NOT flat colors. I nearly always add highlights to them. (Flat colors to me always seem to dull that I don't feel good leaving them as just that. I feel like my style regarding lineart to color is not perfect enough where I can just leave it as a typical "flat color"
The difference between my flat-colors and shaded pieces is that I put more time into it, meaning, a shaded piece will have shadows and depth regarding background and more affects than a flat-color.
#2 - The time it takes me to do commissions ranges. My max time I let a commission go without being finished is a month, I typically will always have a sketch/WIP before a month's time! However, since I am in college, my time dedicated to commissions varies with the mercy of my professors lol. Also, depending on how excited I am with a commission is how fast I will work on it too.
(Some commissions take longer than others, and sometimes I don't always go in order of what commissions were received)
Hopefully this kind of clarifies any confusion ^^"

Adopt Advice?

1. Use the drawing to make 4 horse adopts as a base, each with their own hairstyle with a set price.
or
2. Use the drawing to make 1 horse adopt with 2 other pictures of it as an auction.
Which would you guys prefer to see?? One adopt auction, or separate base adopts with a set price?

General | Posted 8 years agoIf you currently are awaiting a commission or looking to order a commission in the future, PLEASE READ!
As of recently, I've had several commissioners who had been put in the same predicament. I will not name names, majority of these commissioners are all a pleasure to work with and I hope to do future business with them <3, but they all shared a similar problem I'd like to address, in hopes that I can avoid this problem in the future.
When you order a commission from me, and I give you a WIP (Work-In-Progress sketches) and I tell you to look it over, markings, lineart, background, etc. PLEASE take all the time you need!
I give WIP's so that you guys can let me know what needs to be change in order to make the most out of what you guys pay for and so that I too can improve my skills and make others happy. If you need a day or two to look over the WIP, please do so! I will not be offended if you tell me you need to look it over!
I've encountered multiple situations in which a commissioner does not like the final product or they notice something they want changed after completion. Not only is the commissioner not happy, but it gets a bit hectic on the artists side too. Majority of the things a person may be unhappy with in their commissioner (lineart/proportion/etc) can be easily editted during the WIP stages of commissioning. When it reaches the final stage, it becomes very difficult to edit and becomes time consuming.
Edits after a completed commission will now result in a $5-10 fee. (This does not count if "I", the artist, mess up! Such as I miss your markings.)
I can not express this enough, PLEASE look over the WIP stages of your commission carefully. Once I get past shading and effects, changes become extremely tough >< Tell me about you!
General | Posted 8 years agoSomething I wish I did more, was that I got to know more people. In real life, I suck at making friends rofl. So I thought I'd strike up a conversation on here!
Tell me about yourself! What are your quirks, unusual traits <3 would love to hear! I'll share some of mine!
Random Facts about Me:
-When I use the bathroom in public, I have to cover my ears and close my eyes. The thought of people knowing I'm in there scares me.
-When I get anxious in public, I "gag", you'kno, that sound people make before they puke. I don't try to do it, it just happens as a "tick" I suppose
-One of my biggest pet peeves is people not resetting the time on the microwave
-When I sleep at night, I literally burrow myself in blankets and sleep like that in a warm den.
-I keep my hair up nearly 90% of the time in a pony tail, my hair is one giant fluffy wavy mess xD
-When I get sad, I take a hot shower to calm down. It's my "pouting" spot.
-One of my favorite things in a relationship is having my butt pet. Top half of my butt is a turn on, the lower half of my butt puts me to sleep.
-Nearly 90% of all my friends are guys. In middle school I use to be afraid of guys, ironic that in the end, guys were some of my closest friends!
-I thought one of my closest friends, Burnt-Sonic, was a girl for a longest time, and even after realizing he was a guy, I choose to believe he was a girl for awhile.

General | Posted 8 years agoxD i don't know why but every damn year around this time, I get super fucking tired 24/7 and despite the fact I WANT to draw and I WANT to work on hw, I am so damn tired ALL THE TIME! Ah!!
Then once may/june hits, I turn into a super ball of energy that is like I JUST BECAME WOKE BICH!
ff- I want my motivation and energy back, who ever stole it from me, I'm going to get you! (when I wake up...)
