Iron Artist Week 6
Posted 8 years agoCurrent Progress: 41/100
Oh dear. After Furcation, I slipped into some bad habits and got a bit lazy, falling behind somewhat in my production. Hopefully, I will get back on track over the weekend.
Pirate badges will still be open for Scotiacon, or as per special request, as well as the Skull badges for Halloween. I also will be looking into doing a YCH for Halloween, and should have the proof of concept up soon.

Iron Artist Week 5
Posted 8 years agoBit of a late one, sorry.
Current progress 39/100
It was nice just to take a little break after a hectic couple of weeks, working my tail off to do some extra work. Anyway, I might have intrigued enough people to take me on as a commission. With Scotiacon roubd the corner, I have about three weeks to work on more pirate badges for that convention.
Anyway, please keep your commissions coming, particularly since November will be when I am focussing on trainer badges, with the release of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

Iron Artist Week 4
Posted 8 years agoCurrent Progress 32/100
Over a quarter of the time is up, and I am almost a third done. I think that is amazing progress!
Anyway, please keep commissions coming in. I still have some to see to, but I would ideally like to have a stock pile. Probably going to go quiet next week, because of Furcation, so it's important that I keep working.
I'm not sure how much is in the money box I bought, but it sounds like quite a bit.

Whilst still technically ahead, I've lost some days due to IBS, and running errands. I have some designs ready to colour and put out, I just need to finish them.
The drip feed of commissions has kept me busy, and I plan to do bulk amounts on quiet days to keep myself busy and get ahead.

Iron Artist Week 2
Posted 8 years agoCurent Progress 17/100
I'm now at the stage where I can stockpile badges without too much trouble, which allows me to take days off. It certainly looks like the Pokemon badges are a particular success, especially with the current deal which is ongoing until Sunday - for those of you who don't know, the deal is that Pokemon badges are reduced if your partner Pokemon is a Generation 2 Pokemon.
I over exerted myself on one particular day, which is not healthy. If I do full character badges, like the pirate badges, I can only do one of those in a sitting. Pokemon badges, however, are a lot of fun to make.
Anyway, please keep commissioning. I still have a queue, but I need to keep it up as much as I can.

Iron Artist Week 1
Posted 8 years agoCurent Progress 008/100
I've bought myself a money tin, so that I can draw the money out when it comes in, and stick it inside, and cannot get it out without a tin opener.
What have I learned thus far?
-Aligator skulls are dimpled, and they are mostly featureless.
-The library where I do my printing is not open Wednesdays.
-More people seem interested in Pokemon than I originally thought.
Here's to another good week!

Level Up! 25
Posted 8 years agoI have levelled up! Happy Birthday to me!
Lots of love to my watchers! If you're in the USA, keep an eye out this afternoon for the solar eclipse. If you're in Tennessee, you will be in the path of totality. Werewolves become super werewolves, and Apophis will try to eat you, but you must let him!

Artistic Drought
Posted 8 years agoSo some of you may be wondering "why the massive number of art submissions from other artists?". Well, to tell you the truth, I haven't been doing much lately in terms of art. I had hoped to make a start on my Confuzzled project for next year, but immediately after the convention, we had an election, Father's Day, and the stock take at my shop. Suffice to say, I have been incredibly busy.
To make up for the creative drought, I've decided to upload all the commissions I've had done for me the past couple of years. I'm still scanning some of them. I have credited the artists as best I can, because they've done some fantastic work bringing my characters to life. This also means more art of my secondary character, Gideon.
Who coincidentally will be getting his own folder, and will be getting his own fursuit. I've commissioned a foam base for him, and will be putting him together over the next few weeks, so I have another fursuit I can use. I don't have the katanas or the tweed suit he normalyl wears as of yet, but I can probably pass off one of my other suits just fine.
Speaking of which, I'm potentially interested in badge trades for him, just to get myself motivated to draw again. I only have a few badges for him, one I've made myself, two commissioned by other artists. If you'd like to do an art trade, give me a shout.
That's all for now; enjoy my latest submissions, and be sure to show your love for them by watching the artists who took the time to bring them to life.

Confuzzled 2018 Art Show Pitch - Volunteers Wanted
Posted 8 years agoIf you attended Confuzzled on the last day, or heard from someone who did, the theme next year is going to be Video Games! Therefore, for my big picture for next year's art show, I'm going to be drawing a picture inspired by...
Super Smash Brothers!
Or rather, featuring furries cosplaying as the Super Smash Brothers. And not just the latest batch from Smash 4, but a collection of all playable characters, past and present. What I am looking for are for people willing to volunteer to be a part of this big picture. If you volunteer your character for this project, then I will draw your fursona cosplaying as a smash brother of your choosing (unless already taken). This will be technically a free drawing, but the proceeds from the sale of this picture will go towards the charity, similar to how it worked with "By Lantern's Light" from 2014.
I have decided to open this up on Fur Affinity to fill the last few places. Whilst this is open to everyone, if two people want the same character, I will prioritise the person more likely to go to Confuzzled next year.
Drop a message here if you are potentially interested, or if you have any questions.
Characters remaining:
Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong, Ike, Mario, Mr. Game and Watch, Ness, Pac-Man, R.O.B., Wii Fit Trainer (male), Koopalings (Larry, Wendy, Ludwig, Lemmy, Roy and Iggy)
Taken characters;
Corrin, Solid Snake, Captain Falcon, Charizard, Samus (with and without suit), Link, Sheik, Wolf, Zelda, Bayonetta, Falco, Lucario, Luigi, Pikachu, Yoshi, Shulk, Meta Knight, Fox, Kirby, Mewtwo, Sonic, Toon Link, King Dedede, Rosalina, Jigglypuff, Bowser, Villager, Ryu, Marth, Pichu, Pit, Wario, Peach, Palutena, Ice Climbers, Dr Mario, Morton (Koopaling), Cloud, Bowser Jr, Squirtle, Young Link, Duck Hunt Duo, Greninja, Mega Man, Roy, Ganondorf, Lucina, Female Wii FIt Trainer, Robin, Dark Pit, Lucas, Little Mac, Ness, Olimar, Ivysaur

Almost 300 Watchers
Posted 8 years agoWow, I never thought I'd even get close to 300 Watchers.
Thanks to all you guys, and let's see if we can hit 300 Watchers!
On a serious note, to all my watchers, what kind of art do you like in my gallery? My original characters, the fan art, the adult material, the stories, or the vore?

Happy Belated New Year
Posted 9 years agoWell, Happy New Year my followers! Anyway, you're probably wondering why I haven't uploaded anything in a long while. Well, I have had a busy few weeks with work (I work in a greetings card shop, you see, so very busy in the run up to Christmas). But, I've made it a resolution to try and produce something once per week. Uploading once per week, well...
With university now out of the way, my creative juices are overflowing and need decanting. I've got the energy, the motivation, and an idea. If you've been chatting with me lately, and managed to make sense out of all the nonsensical ramblings I've made over the months, you probably are getting hints of a story behind my character. From my time in the Sinestro Corps, the Shadowlands War, the Ritual Cult, there is a lot to tell. This is what my big project is going to be.
I have narrowed it down to 22 major events in Giovanni's history, that could do with telling. If you've read the descriptions of my draugr, it talks of a war. Now, I feel it is only fitting to focus on telling you all about it, because I feel that it needs to be told. I will take these events, and depict them, along with a story to go with them. I am also throwing in some major stories from my ongoing saga about Arzonus, which I feel also needs to be told, because it ties in with Giovanni's story and how it all comes together.
I plan to finish this all by June, with a massive display at Confuzzled, hopefully kick starting a profitable side enterprise into something artistic, or kick starting a career solely in science, where I will never lay my hands on a sketch pad again. So yeah, no biggie.
Hope you all have a good year. Commissions are still open.

Commissions Reopened
Posted 9 years agoI have decided to reopen commissions, and have made a proper rate sheet to list all my prices! These will be uploaded shortly.
In summary, here are my prices;
Full Body Commissions have four categories.
-Flat Colour are fully coloured, non shaded works, suitable for ref sheet poses or for cheap commissions. These start from £8 ($10)
-Shaded and Textured incorporate additional markings and textures. Starts from £12 ($16)
-Dynamic Action include far more complex poses, and more elaborate lighting effects. Starts from £15 ($19)
-Adult feature adult features, such as genitalia, or adult themes. Start from £12 ($16)
Badges have five categories.
-3/4 badges will feature a simply drawn character in a pose of your choice. These start from £8 ($10)
-Chibi badges featured characters with chibi proportions, or Animal Crossing style. These start from £7 ($9)
-Face badges simply feature a face. Starts from £6 ($8)
-Food badges feature your character chowing down on their favourite yummy stuff. These start from £7 ($9)
-Shadow and Skull badges feature your character, and can be flipped over to show their skull or their dark side. Starts from £7 ($9)
Of course, there are some rules as to what I will and will not draw;
I will draw;
-Cubs (provided it is non sexual)
-LGBTQ
-Adult activity (sex)
-Vore (this may cost extra, because it still technically counts as another character somewhere)
-Fat furs
-Licensed characters or elements (this may cost extra as well, due to the practise it takes to make the character resemble their official artwork)
I will NOT draw;
-Cub porn
-Scat or urine
-Material that dehumanises or is offensive to race, religion, gender, sexual identity, or ability.
-Adult material for minors (I have a policy of not drawing adult material for anyone below the age of 18)
Also, some important information regarding commissions;
-I will provide a quote once I get your message. I will only start work when you've paid (I've worked pro-bono before and I've grown a little tired of people running out on the bill).
-Once it is paid, I can give updates as and when requested, such as WIPs.
-I will send a line art for your approval. If I do not hear within 24 hours, I will assume you're okay with it and I will start the next phase.
-Once payment has been sent, and the work has reached a specific point, most likely the colouring stage, I will not be able to offer a refund. If you want me to make alterations, it is best to suggest them whilst still in the early stages.
-I will present to you the finished picture when it is finished for final approval. At this point, if you want any alterations, please state so immediately.
-I will submit the picture to my gallery within 24 hours of completion. If you don't wish for me to submit the picture, such as if it's a gift, please message me.
-You're more than welcome to share it in your gallery, when it is finished, provided you credit me as the artist (I've heard stories of commissioners refusing to credit the artist for their work; it may not seem like much, but it's like refusing to credit Alfred Hitchcock for Psycho - this piece of work that people love was made by someone, so their name should be on it).
-My signature will be on the picture when it's finished. This is not up for negotiation.
Lastly, a few notes regarding badges;
-I can offer discounts on badges if you're buying in bulk, such as buying one for yourself and one for a friend.
-I can offer discounts on badges if they're for specific conventions. If I am attending this convention, I can hand it to you in person, printed and laminated. I can give details as to which conventions qualify as per request.
-Postage is only available for UK and EU residents. P&P is subject to first class delivery rates.
Hope this clears everything up.

The Sketch Dump and Cease and Desist
Posted 9 years agoSince I cannot be bothered to start any new projects, and feeling really apathetic about my art, I decided to clean up my folders and dig through all the old work I never quite finished and upload it as a complete package, the Sketch Dump. Each picture is either a commission, gift, or personal project that was left unfinished, or was never scanned to begin with, including reasons as to why that was. I'm still debating over whether to stick it in scraps, or make them public.
Also, I received a very lovely Cease and Desist letter through Red Bubble on behalf of the Pokémon Company. It seems that they didn't like my Pokémon selfie pictures, or the Batchu Begins picture. In fact, they disliked them so much, they were forcedly taken down from my portfolio, and I will have to go through legal proceedings if I wish to keep them up. Kind of means I went through all that trouble for nought and spent days working on them that I will never see back for practically nothing, so I'm a little cheesed off. People tell me to look on the bright side - they're probably so good that the Pokémon Company wanted them taken down. I just see it as them just going through routine of taking down art that isn't parody enough.
Whatever.

Giovanni Magnus BSc Hons
Posted 9 years agoIn lighter news, my diploma arrived on the Saturday just gone, which now finalises one thing. I now have my degree in Forensic Science, and can now add BSc (Hons) to my name. Yay me!
At first, I was worried I wasn't going to get it after I had a serious panic attack in one of my exams and would have had to have taken it again, but on the 24th June, the university made me an offer. I could be offered my degree at a slightly lower grade, and not have to resit the exam, due to my extenuating circumstances as well as the quality of the work I had done this year and last year. Therefore, I now have a 2:1 in Forensic Science!
I'll still have to wait until November for the graduation ceremony, since the offer was made pretty late, but I have officially qualified and can now start looking for work within science, which I have always wanted. I want to shout out to all the people who've been with me all the way and encouraged me in my studies, as well as helping me pull myself together when things became rough. Thank you guys.

So frightened
Posted 9 years agoI am afraid. Very afraid.
Today was a very important day for the UK. It was the referendum for our EU membership. For those of you who aren't aware, the European Union is a large trading block that the UK has been a part of for nearly 45 years. As members, we pay in a regular fee, for which we get a series of regulations that ensure product safety, workplace rights, human rights, and many other common sense legislation, as well as the right to work, live, have priority trading, and study anywhere within the EU, in addition to being part of a large, international committee for things such as science, security, and other international matters.
I am afraid we may lose it or lose ourselves.
The Remain and Leave votes are being tallied right now, as the ballots close. At the last opinion polls, it was too close to call. That scares me.
One side sees this union and believes that we get more out of it that we give. The other doesn't, and wishes to see it fall. This referendum is going to be a lose-lose scenario. If we leave, we face an uncertain future, largely because Leave has no grand scheme, beyond just having the fee back. If we remain, we're now aware that almost half of us hold the other in contempt, and that we have a more divided society than ever.
I don't want to bring politics to this place - it is my haven. But right now, I am terrified. Our impatience to rush this referendum through has caused so much antagonism, and brought out the worst in all of us. I just don't know who to turn to given such a delicate matter, because I cannot tell who is on which side in this almost tribal debate.
