Just something that crossed my mind recently..
Posted 15 years agoThanks to someone. You know who you are.
The concept has also come to light thanks to the release of HTTYD and the circulation of Toothcup (Toothless/Hiccup) material.
If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm talking about animal/feral/furry couplings with humans.
From what I've seen, many people seem quite divided about it, especially with dragons. This might stem off the fact that some dragon-characters have some level of dislike towards humans due to uh.. beliefs.. or something.. but there is something I find particularly charming about a larger, gentle, sweet dragon willing to build a bond with a human (or similarly fragile-in-comparison character).
It doesn't have to be just sex I'm talking about either. It's just touching to see two worlds meet.. which is why I think HTTYD was so lovable. It brings to light the concept that even opposing sides of warring factions will have some level of similarity between them.
What do you think about dragon/human couples portrayed in art/story? Yay or nay? A reason why would certainly be interesting to hear as well.

Curious about tablets
Posted 15 years agoSo.
I have had and used my Wacom Graphire for abouuuut.. 6 years now. Give or take.
Now I think I've managed to develop my art skills quite effectively with just this 4x5 inch space (or I think it's 4x5.. anyway) It's basically the cheapest tablet you can get. The older version of what is now called the Wacom Bamboo without any of the buttons or dials or whatever.
Thing is, I hear people who buy these huge fancy schmancy new tablets like the intuos and the cintique, but does it really benefit you as an artist? I mean, I don't see how MORE space on a tablet would be that beneficial.. and I still have a good degree of sensitivity in the pen. The only feature I might like is the buttons that they've added.
So I'd like to hear from some folks who have actually found that having a bigger, better tablet is beneficial to their work, and why. I don't care about the fact that it's "more space" because I don't use a tablet like I would a real canvas anyway.. who does? Maybe I'm using it wrong? Are you supposed to hold your hand above the tablet without touching it? I'd lose a lot of control that way.
Anyway, lots of questions. I'd just like to see what some folks have to say. :>

FC 2011
Posted 15 years agoI've been asked about whether I am attending or not, and I would be curious to know who might be attending! (Whether you have firm plans or you have a good chance of going)
I would like to go, but as usual it's up in the air. :p
And no, I'm not going to RF (even though it's closer).

Time for a reflective journal [Career/School Related]
Posted 15 years agoIt's my third year at University, and the gears are starting to turn. Some lock into place to move the machine, while others keep spinning because they can't sink their teeth into a gear that suits their needs. I find myself spinning most of my gears, and the time to make decisions is coming up fast.
To avoid explaining my entire situation in metaphors, I'll give some background. Typically, when you go to university or college, the first 2 years are general. The profs teach you like you don't know anything, and they don't expect much out of you other than to just do as your told and follow instructions. But now that has come and past, and I find myself having to specialize in a career option, as well as choosing a specific bachelor degree to define my education. You may just think, "Hey, you should just do what you enjoy and are passionate about! If you want it enough, then you can do it."
There's something horribly wrong with this assumption. I've been told this ever since I started considering my future when high school was ending. I wanted to have a career where I could be considered intelligent, make good money, and be proud of what I did. I chose to take biology, because for one, I did well in bio in high school, and 2, it seemed like something that could be interesting and take me into things like biochemistry.
We all make bad choices. This was my first (as far as schooling goes anyway). I went to my first semester of college, flunked out of calculus, and dropped out of chemistry. I didn't go back for another semester in biology. Why? It was too hard, was not what I expected, and I was regularly told that unless you do extremely well, a degree in biology won't get you far. When I say it was too hard, I don't say it because I never worked hard at high school. I did all my work and regularly got A's and B's. But high school doesn't mean shit. Your diploma? Nobody cares. It's basically saying that you sat in classes and did no thinking for yourself. Heck, some teachers will pass kids just so they don't have to see their faces again.
Moving on, I went to a trades school. Mechanical Engineering Technology (I actually posted some of my notes from that course on FA way back. I don't even understand them anymore xD). This.. may not have been a mistake to take because in all likelyhood, it probably could have grabbed me a good job. Problem is, I didn't know what the job I wanted was. So when I finished, I was minus 2 courses (and couldn't graduate until they were completed) but went looking for a job anyway since I figured.. "Hey, what's an employer going to care? It's just 2 minor courses.. I have all the important ones." But when I started going to interviews, all I could think about was OTHER jobs that I could be having fun doing.. and it showed when the interviewer asked those "Where do you see yourself in a few years from now" questions. I have a hard time lying in interviews, and I have a lack of confidence.. so naturally, I never got a good job. I never went back to finish those 2 courses and didn't get my diploma.
If you've read this far, you might be thinking. "This guy can't make up his mind!" and you're right.. because I was built on thinking I could do ANYTHING. And yes, I probably can, but it doesn't help when you aren't given any guidance towards what you might ENJOY and DO WELL AT doing as a career. That's what we all want, right? Why am I spilling all this? Because I see too many younger people these days in the same spot I was.. who are taking general courses, or specific programs, and aren't even sure where they're headed with them. Learning is cool, it's fun, but if you expect to come out of school and grab a job willynilly, it won't happen. You'll hit the job search, struggle to find something you'll like because you've got these huge dreams of something amazing now you've got your big bad degree, and come out disappointed because your drive is pushing you in so many directions that you forgot to do your research and aim your focus to that goal and make sacrifices to have it.
Now I'm in my third year of Interactive arts and Technology, and I need to make a choice. It's been 6 years since I've been out of high school and I'm still learning that I didn't learn to make proper decisions for my future because "I could do anything". Now I need to make a choice between Media Arts or Design, and a bachelor of arts or science and I'm still lost. I want so much out of my future that closing doors is a struggle, and it's painful to think that if I close those doors, what's to say the ones I take will be able to take me where I want? Will it be video games? Product design? Graphic Design? Advertising? Web Design? Concept art? Animation? Hell if I know, but I realize I need to start talking to people who can tell me more. I need to do research. Build a network. Do more art that isn't just dragons and smut. Opportunities don't just fall into your lap, and you can't expect them to or you'll just be disappointed.
Most probably won't read all this, but if you have, I'd love to hear if you have any advice for me, or for other people who read and don't know where to go or what to do with their life and career. Maybe if you have had a career in some of the examples I've listed you could tell me more about them, and how you got there or what is needed to get there. Thanks :)

Freedom! Time for art.
Posted 15 years agoFor starters. Shame on all of you who thought my previous journal was serious. 8|
But anywho. I have returned home from being away while working, and have some time on my hands for art!
I do not think I will take commissions openly, but I may be open to suggestions as to what type of subject matter or characters you may like to see done in my style :] I do love to hear ideas (provided they are not "I want to see [insert bland character here] eating [insert another bland character here]"... actually, I would try not to suggest vore at all. I've been picky about it lately. But if you think your idea is a pretty cool guy, lemme know.)
Being home is nice. <3 Glad to be back.

New Banner
Posted 15 years agoSo after refreshing my page I realized that FA's fat bunny week banner has been replaced by.. this.
I must say I do not find this to be a good representation of FA's policies and morals, as well as my own. For a website I invest so much time, money and effort into, I believe my ideals should be represented and forced upon everyone else.
For starters.. the fat bunnies have been replaced by small, thinner bunnies. Is this banner meant to say instead of fat lapins, our community supports midget, thinner people? I find this disrespectful.
Second, one of the bunnies has been set on fire, by the representative to FA, Fender. One could say that he is symbolic of the FA moderators, and he clearly enjoys setting other, smaller creatures alight with flames. LOOK AT THAT SMILE. If we consider that the bunnies are meant to represent the "little guy", or the community, it becomes clear that not only do the FA moderators support burning fetishes, but they want to BURN all their supporters. (One of them is cheering them on, it's clearly delusional and on drugs considering the rings under it's eyes. It's likely been hypnotized by the moderators to play the role of undying supporter)
I also see that Rednef is drinking.. some unusual colored drink. Yellow.. and brown I would say. WHAT ELSE IS YELLOW AND BROWN HMM? Nothing healthy I would bet. I think you can draw your own conclusions before I go too far down that disgusting road.
Furaffinity moderators, I am disappoint. Next time you pick someone to do a banner, it should be more considerate to my needs. I do not want to go through the effort of having to adblock an image. Thankyou.

Underwear discussion
Posted 15 years agoSo my favorites to wear are:
1) Boxerbriefs
2) Boxers
3) Briefs
Used to wear briefs.. but my legs would get cold! Boxers are too loose. Boxerbriefs are the best invention.
On a side note, does anyone actually use that little cloth flap on the front of their underwear? It's such a hassle to use that I find it easier to just pull the waistband down D:

We return to your regularly scheduled program
Posted 15 years agoSo I'm back from camping, and had a blast.
The weather gods were good to us, not a spot of rain, and some nice doses of sun. We propped up tents on Saturday, and I realized we had nothing good to eat. No chips, whole wheat pasta, no brownies, no cookies, no burgers, healthy low fat cereal. I would starve at this rate. I made this known 8| Thanks
Luckily I forgot about this temporarily since
brought booze. Yay drinks :D Fire and marshmellows were also had. Marshmellow experiments occurred and were documented. The sanitary dirt cleaned our pokers.
Stop mumbling,
! We need to hear your periodic comments. They shall fill us with inspiration and wisdom.
We tumbled and squeezed through some caves. How dragons are supposed to exist in those things, or WHY they would WANT to live in such cramped spaces is totally beyond me. Give me a nice bed and I'm happy. I was quite frightened that someone was going to slip and fall, but it never happened.
went to bed early and skipped out on work :C meanie. Who goes to bed at 8 and 9 o'clock! Next time we'll put a squirrel in your bed C:
is a pretty cool dood too, lets talk more and stuff. Shame I didn't meet you before hand else I might have known what to talk to you about :V
flapped his ears around and SPILLED THE MARSHMELLOWS. Who does that, honestly :C
was his usual crazy self. Infatuated with crabs. If you wish to protect yourself from this dragon, wear spicy food. ;D
We saw some cool birdy raptor thingies which I'm sure
would love to share with you. I like owls and eagles and stuff too, but not as much as him. I'm glad he enjoyed one part of the trip at least |3
Lots of unorganized happened, but we came back alive. Hope you guys have fun at AC!

Inkfunny
Posted 15 years agoSo I was going to make a journal to tell people to stop making journals about inkbunny.
But then I realized I would just add to the pile by making one of my own.

Does this dress make me look fat?
Posted 15 years agoWhat guys are meant to answer with: (No hesitation) No, you look lovely.
What guys would answer with if they actually looked and thought about it: (Some hesitation as they observe) No, you look lovely.
What I would say if I was allowed to speak my mind: (Some hesitation as I observe) Not fat no, but I'm not sure the shoes match the dress, you look good though.
The rules say that both 2 and 3 are wrong, and you have offended your girl. WHY?
I don't get it. Is it some sort of game? Does your girl want to be lied to? Because if she didn't then she would have no problem if you took the time to look and answer the question properly. Now, if she wanted to know if you think she looks GOOD, then that's a different matter altogether. It's easy to say a girl is beautiful regardless of what make-up, dress, or accessories they wear.
I don't get chicks. Good thing I'm single and don't have to worry about it :D

I'm right, you're wrong
Posted 15 years agoCan you admit when you're wrong? Will you realize when your logic becomes undermined rather than scrambling for any reason to say that the threat is unsupported, has errors, or some other fault and accept it?
Chances are, you won't. Most people would rather remain in the own security of their beliefs, whether correct or not, than listen to someone else. Why listen to some random ass person on the internet who you can drop as soon as it becomes inconvenient to your life? It doesn't even need to be a belief. It could be an opinion.. a pet peeve.. a fetish.. attitudes.. acts.. personalities. Have a problem with someone? Poof. Gone. You don't need to deal with it.
What a horribly disrespectful attitude. How do people expect to grow and learn as individual if they are not CONSTANTLY questioning how they act, live and think? And yet I see this so very commonly. Person A has a problem with person B. Person B questions the actions of A, so A gets butthurt and ragequits without really seriously considering.. what if B was right about something? What if maybe A is so absorbed in its way of thinking that it can't see from other people's point of view? But nope.. we're going to toss other people's thoughts, opinions, and lives right out the window because A loves itself so much that B should love A unconditionally just for how great A thinks it is.
This is not even just an attitude seen online either. This kind of attitude is everywhere.
This is not just a one way street either. People who can criticize others should constantly be doing so of themselves. In this act, not only do you gain confidence about your own logic by constantly questioning it, but you gain the respect of others when they know you have the ability to reconsider your own rules.
Arguments aren't even a sign of a friendship gone sour either. Sure, sometimes you may have them more commonly with some people than you do with others, but this can be a sign of growth or development. Perhaps you don't have arguments with some relationships because you really don't know someone that well.. or have a shallow friendship with them. This could only be true of some relationships, but it's something to consider.
If someone is arguing to you about something stupid, at least consider what they are trying to say. Maybe not from a direct standpoint.. but maybe from an emotional one. Try to be empathetic. If that fails, state that you disagree, respect their opinion, and have faith that maybe they will change their outlook in time. Of course this does not work in all cases, but I firmly believe that a touch of tolerance, respect, and good-will should keep you on good terms with anyone who isn't totally disrespectful and intolerant of life.
Just something I've been thinking about lately.

Commissions + Auctions
Posted 15 years agoSo I'd like to make some money by doing art if possible, but I don't particularly want to open the floodgates and take on a bunch of commissions because of the offchance that I might find a job for the summer and won't have as much time to work on them as I would like... So..!
I'm considering 2 options.
1) Put up an auction on Furbuy or somesuch. I haven't opened commissions for almost a year (since I do still have some I haven't done.. should probably ask if people still want them x: ) and I figure that I should get SOME bids. No idea how high the bidding would go, but I would be interested to see. Downside to this option is that some people really dislike auctions and I may end up with something I'm not comfortable drawing.
2) Make a comic and keep it to paying customers only. If I produced a comic with material of popular interests, and charged 10-15 dollars to 20-30 buyers, that in itself would probably pay for the time spent to make it. Downside is.. why would 20-30 people buy it if 1 could buy it and give it to everyone else? Would there be some sort of incentive I could offer to make purchasing the comic more appealing? What sort of subject matter would a large number of buyers be interested in?
Tell me what you think, please! If you have a different idea, think regular commissions are the best option, or can add some feedback onto these two options, let me know :)
Thankyouuuuu~ <3

Use of Adverbs
Posted 15 years agoI have come across a pet peeve of which has developed over the many years of being in this community. At first it wasn't a big deal.. I would ignore it, pass it off as unimportant because really.. it was very minor! The mistake wasn't anything that would totally throw me off, and I could still understand the sentence, but yet.. why would you use such adverbs?
Let me explain with an example. Just today in someones journal I saw someone write:
"*Bows deeply*"
How do you do a deep bow? I don't really understand this. Bowing LOW would make sense, but deep? Deep is a value of depth, which usually describes sinking into the ground/water.. or into a mine. Unless you are bowing underwater or something, this just goes over my head.
How about another example I've seen occasionally. People often use quiet as an adverb to describe an action. Quiet stepping.. sure.. quiet eating, okay. Using quiet on something that makes noise would make sense.. and yet I see people use it with hugging, or other things like that. Unless you're wearing a tinfoil jacket, you don't need to describe hugs as quiet things.
This is going to make me look like a fag, but whatever :V
I AM FREE FROM SCHOOL YESYESYESYESYESYES. Now its time to find a job and clean... yaaaaaaaay.

Where the fuck have you been?
Posted 15 years agoUuuuugh gooood.
Seriously.
I have not had a life for months. Literally. None. It's worse than a full time job. I have maybe.. MAYBE 5-6 hours on Monday evening to enjoy myself, and then it's back to business. And by business, I mean 6-10 hours a day at school, including weekends. Sometimes more. That's about maybe 50 hours a week. No pay. People regularly comment that I look half dead.
But what's taking up all my time?
It's not commissions, that's for sure. I could be making money doing that! Noooope.. It's a course called Spacial Design. What is spacial design you ask? Well.. it's about designing spaces! From space on a page to space in a city, and many things inbetween. For the sake of explaining why I have been so aloof lately, I feel it is necessary for me to explain this since I know some people feel they aren't getting much of my attention as they normally would, or see me regularly run off to play a game or just disappear altogether.
I'm sorry guys, I really am. I'm doing the best I can. It's likely only going to get worse as final projects are coming due in 3 weeks. We've already started working on the spacial design final project and I already feel behind and lost. Supposedly this is part of the design process, and things usually turn out in the end with enough work, but alas, I am left without spare time as a result. With the spare time I DO have, I find it hard to do anything that requires thinking.. like art (god I wish I could do it freely like some people) or sometimes even conversation is hard (thus the uninspired responses). Again, I apologize. I would love nothing more than being able to lay back, watch a movie, chat with some friends and sleep for just one day without having the creeping thought of homework in the back of my mind.
I would give individual apologies to the people who deserve it, but I'm sure you know who you are. Thankyou for being so understanding during this period for me. If things calm down during the summer, hopefully I can be back to drawing slowly as I usually do instead of not drawing at all.

Posted 15 years agoSo my friends list has been wiped by some steam glitch, and I need to re-add people. If you wish for me to add or re-add you to my friends list, please leave your ID here, or note it to me if you don't want it public (or IM, if you have me on your contacts list).

What makes you cringe..?
Posted 15 years agoI had a discussion during one of my many group project meetings (I haven't had a weekend in 2 weeks ;~; ) and occasionally we get distracted with blathering and mindless conversation (occasionally pieces of cardboard would turn into animals and all that fun stuff) but ANYWAY..
The topic came up about what concepts make you cringe and shiver at the thought of.
Things like:
- Biting down on a razor blade
- Rubbing your tongue on a cheese grater
- Biting down on a file and pulling it across your teeth
and other not so nice things.
LETS SEE WHAT YOU COME UP WITH :D :D

So..
Posted 16 years agoAccording to that little flash animation, the Na'vi have sex by putting their ponytails together.. right?
So by that logic.. they are also having sex with the animals.. and then by having sex with them, tame them under their control :|
That's some fucked up bestiality mind control shit right there.
