I just have to make a financial aid appeal before the semester starts.

Splice
Posted 15 years agoHalf watching, half listening to it in the background. It's not bad (actually, it's relatively interesting), but it's SO predictable. One sequence of events begets another in such a manner that every other thriller/suspense movie has done at least twice before.
The only reason it even remotely interests me is because of the scientific aspects of it. And even then, technology levels are so conveniently mixed that we know what every genome strand of every animal does, but don't have lab equipment sturdy enough to contain a genetically manipulated monster.

My kitty
Posted 15 years agoAt 2:10 this afternoon, I took her to the veterinarian's office.
At 2:32, she received a high dose injection of a concentrated sedative. She promptly went to sleep, followed shortly by her systems shutting down.
At 2:56, I buried her beneath the lilac bush in my back yard.
Rest in peace, honey. I miss you

Or month...
Or however long it's been since I slipped (further) into depression. Life just isn't very kind to me. Hasn't really been for as far back as I can remember. Life was never easy, but until recently, I didn't even start to realize how fucked up everything has been.
I haven't been sleeping well lately. Maybe 3-4 hours a night.
Why is all this bullshit necessary? These headaches, these heartaches... what's the point to all of it?
And before someone asks, NO, I'm not feeling suicidal. I'm just exhausted and philosophical, a dangerous combination.

Posted 15 years agoIt's a first-person shooter from Aeria games. I like Aeria, but I'm not big on FPS games. However, I'll make an exception to play with friends any day of the week X3
Last night, I played with Keto (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/keto/) and a few others. Had some massive fun, despite how terrible I was. It was great fun. I didn't even realize it was 5 in the morning until he left XP

Posted 15 years agoWho here knows what a "sock puppet" is? I am, of course, referring to the internnet version. Not the one you wear on your hand X3
A "sock puppet" is a person on any site with multiple accounts. They use the accounts to make it seem like they are more than a single person expressing the same opinion in the same argument.
Most "sock puppets" aren't careful enough, and tend to be found out. For example, one account will reply to something said to a different account as if they were that account. That's actually because they are.
Sock puppets are funny and annoying all at the same time X3

The closer it gets to my 24th birthday (the 3rd, for those of you who care), the more my emotions get out of hand, and the angrier I get.

Phone's dead too
Posted 15 years agoSo not even two weeks after my computer went and imploded on itself (okay not really, but still), my phone has suffered some serious water damage. It tuns on... but that's about it.
Life kind of hates me right now X3 Oh well. I didn't use it much anyway.

My computer is officially dead
Posted 15 years agoYup.
It had a pretty good run, considering it was a minimum of 6 years old (I bought it 5 years ago, but it was an older model) and had the minimum specs for a computer released during that time frame.
It turns on... but that's about as far as it goes... and it takes a good 2 hours. I tried opening my browser last night around 5:30 and it was still trying to load when I went to bed around 2.
I guess I'm computerless ~.~
By the by, I'm typing this up on my mom's laptop (which I have temporarily comandeered to check all my email and stuff... I can't keep it).

Double Down
Posted 15 years agoSo, having just eaten 1 and 1/3 of KFC's newest "sandwich," the Double Down, I will rate my experience with it based on how full it made me feel, how it tasted, its value, and give it an overall score.
Flavor 4/5
My main problem with this sandwich is the bacon, and not so much it's flavor either. I love crispy bacon, but it seems like no fast food joints ever go to the lengths to make their bacon crispy, just warm. You can taste it, but its somewhat weak. Bacon only has a distinctive flavor when eaten on it's own. When eaten with other foods, its flavor is easily drowned out. Other than the less-than-stellar "fast food bacon," everything else was perfect. The chicken was tender and juicy, there was a perfect amount of sauce, and Monterey Jack cheese is one of my absolute favorite kinds of cheese. All the flavors worked well together.
Fullness 5/5
Being made of a piece of chicken, cheese, bacon, more cheese, sauce, and another piece of chicken... this sandwich is primarily composed of protein (and fat). It's very filling, and it's the kind of "full" feeling that lasts for a while. That extra 1/3 of one may have been a mistake, as a matter of fact X3
Value 3/5
At around $7.50 for a combo (sandwich, drink, and side), it's a little bit more expensive than you'd think to pay for fast food. Admittedly, it's a very filling meal, but it is just junk food, regardless.
Overall 4/5
Not something you'd want to have regularly, mostly because of the price. It's a good sandwich, and worth trying at least once.

Normal family relationships
Posted 15 years agoI have no idea what one is like X3
My dad has been trying to get in my pants for as long as I can remember.
My mom has always been more interested in her books than her own children.
My older sister resents the very fact that I was born.
Maybe that is normal XP I honestly have no clue. It would seem the relationship I have with my aunt, uncle, and cousins out in the Seattle area is more along the lines of "normal."
When I was living out there, everyone got along well enough (the girls had a couple issues, but it's wasn't as bad as me and my sister). For the most part, everyone was left to their own devices and everyone got along just fine.

Swords
Posted 15 years agoI know more about swords than people who only take shit off of albion-swords.com and coldsteel.com. In today's world, "authentic" just means "packaged properly." And that's all those companies do.
Though, I suppose I could give them some credit. They are more "authentic" than some of their competition. But they aren't really that close, either.
I've literally studied this shit. Along side cultural mythology, as a matter of fact. The two often go hand-in-hand. I have seen historical references, comparison charts, original molds.
Generally, when I say something about... I suppose you could call it "primitive" weaponry (swords, spears, axes, etc...), I more often than not know what I'm talking about >.>

I may regret this...
Posted 15 years agoBut I'm gonna do it any way.
I know what Allan did was a complete and total jacckass-ish thing to do. He took donations to pay for rent and then used the money to buy commissions. I'm not even going to pretend that wasn't borderline theft.
But, from what I can tell, he is trying his hardest to rebuild his life and reputation. He is systematically repaying the people who sent money to him (despite not having a job right now). Not every new picture of him is a commission. Some people are aware that he's trying to fix his mistake and actually offer him gift art.
To me, the fact that he's trying to fix his mistake means he should be forgiven. Anyone who can't see that is the one with the problem. Not him.
One of my favorite things someone said about him... "Once a fuck up, always a fuck up." If that's true, everyone here is a complete and total failure, and STILL has no reason perpetuate this bullshit drama.
So... yes, I may very well regret posting this, but all this drama needs to stop.

Avatar... both of them
Posted 15 years agoI suppose, first and foremost, I'll discuss James Cameron's "Avatar." I finally got to watch it earlier this evening.
I have to say, while the effects were first rate, the story was a bit thin and borrowed far too much from other sources. I got a sort of "Cowboys and Indians" meets "War of the Worlds" vibe from it. Toss in a dash of "evil money-hungry government" and I'm sure you can figure it out without having to watch all of it. I can only imagine it's as renowned as it is because of the familiarity of the overall story. Yes, the "story" itself was unique, but the plot has numerous recognizable - almost nostalgic - elements to it that draw people in.
I guess I'd give it a B. First-rate effects and overall above-average acting mask a third-rate story.
Next up is the upcoming movie "The Last Airbender." Now, as I've not seen the movie, only the series, I can only speculate. The series itself is decent enough, though it has numerous plot-hole that Nickelodeon never bothered to fill in/explain. Those are, for the most part, forgiven for producing an action-packed, unique storyline.
The main problem I see with this movie is it's director... M. Night Shyamalan. I don't care for many of his movies. I like "Sixth Sense" well enough, and "Signs" was okay-ish... but the rest really aren't all that grand... or even that good. I don't see the attraction to him. More importantly, I'm concerned what he'll do to the story itself. My primary concern as to that is his famous "twists." Plot twists that make little to no sense until the very end of the movie when he conveniently ties everything together with insignificant details that may or may not have even been in the movie to begin with...
That's what I'm afraid of >.>
So, there you have it. My thoughts on two unrelated "Avatars." Enjoy.

There are furries who do some stupid shit, but they're not the problem with the fandom.
The problem occur when people start a shitload of drama over something they have nothing to do with. Who the fuck cares if someone spent money on commissions instead of rent? Stop attacking people for doing stupid shit. And then stop belittling them for defending themselves when you attack them for no reason other than to hear your own goddamn voice be heard.
I hate people. As a whole, people are scared, stupid little mutations.
I like individuals, provided they show some level of competence. But overall, I just hate people.
