Updates
Posted 9 years agoIt occurs to me that I haven't posted anything to my journals in some time, despite having become a bit more active in the recent months. So here are some small updates for a few things.
- Flooding
On Monday 18 April 2016 Houston, Texas got hit pretty hard with flooding... It was a work day, and so I drove to work, I arrived and no one else showed up, the rain continued to get worse, and so I left for home, and not 200 yards from my apartment complex, my engine died from taking on water. I did not flood my car however, the intake was poorly designed and sucked up a bunch of water even through I was only driving through about 4-5 inch deep water. My car, still currently in the shop was approved for a new engine, but it has been about a month and it's finally almost back to me.

I have been sketching more frequently, at home, at work, and at other times/places when I can get the time, it has been a while, so I am pretty rusty and mostly just doing sketches and the like for the moment.
- Work
Work has been exhausting, three people were let go one day, we went a few weeks with only a few of us... then another person transferred, another quit a week later... and then two weeks later the last teller from when I had started left so that he wouldn't be fired... we have some new people working with us who I do enjoy working with, but I have picked up a lot of slack... it's tiring... but getting 43-50 hour work weeks is pretty nice.
Anyway, that's just a couple quick updates I thought I would throw out there to let people know what's happening, the good and the bad.

- Flooding

Camouflage conundrum
Posted 12 years agoI've been looking over airsoft gear today, including paint for the M-14, in the end I have decided on a two-tone Duracoat system of black for the framework of the EBR, as well as the barrel. Duracoat's "Blue Titanium" will be applied to the upper receiver, trigger group, charging handle, and the 6-point adjustable rail of the stock
.
This of course led to combat gear browsing, and a dilemma that has been on my mind for a while... Multi-Cam or A-Tacs AU.
Both are excellent, work well in similar environments, Multi-cam seems to still be priced on the higher end, and more difficult to get gear for, but that might just be the sites/stores I have looked at.
So, given the choice which would you build a kit with, Multi-Cam, or A-tacs AU?

Another Year, Another Move
Posted 13 years agoAs some of my friends know I moved from Colorado back home to Beaumont, Texas around eight months ago. Well, with the new year picking up, I have moved yet again, this time, only two hours, over to Houston, Texas, Thanks to a very amazing friend. I live in the Stafford area now.
As of this time, I do not have internet, or "reliable" internet I should say, I'm able to use my Note 2 to Hotspot for my desktop. My roommate has an Intuos4 Wacom tablet which I have gotten to use, so, maybe I'll be able to actually start to work on more art, and less time consuming art at that.

Living in Beaumont
Posted 13 years agoWell, I've been living back down in Texas for close to 2 months now. I'm still getting into the swing of things, figuring out where everything is slowly. Having a job has been the best part, even if it's tiring and not the job I really want. It's been extremely difficult to find friends closer than Houston sadly, but the Local meet there will at least give me the ability to socialize once a month, unless you count Second Life, and no one is ever on so, I rarely get on lately except to check for friends.
My living situation has deteriorated from when I was living in Colorado, but there isn't much you can do when most places don't allow large dogs and you have anyone to room with so you can afford a place.
Other than that things have been stable though, which is a major step up as of late.

Furry Fiesta 2012
Posted 13 years agoThat was fantastic!!! We got back from Furry Fiesta around 2:00am last night and while it is nice to be home for now... I already miss it. Great people, fun panels, I will absolutely be going back next year, I'm hoping to have at least a partial next year if I can afford it along with another friend maybe.

Every System in our house gets REGULAR use by everyone, the PlayStations are used for fighting games usually, and the Resistance series, and Ratchet and Clank. The Xbox(s) usually are used for shooters, racing, and other net/systemlink games. The GameCube actually only I use it because the others just use the Wii's backwards compatability. and Desktops, well, some of those games and more, RTS, Simulation, MMO, etc.
Every console in the house is used, and the only one that is made fun of is the Wii. Every system is good, some however are better for one thing than the other.

Every System in our house gets REGULAR use by everyone, the PlayStations are used for fighting games usually, and the Resistance series, and Ratchet and Clank. The Xbox(s) usually are used for shooters, racing, and other net/systemlink games. The GameCube actually only I use it because the others just use the Wii's backwards compatability. and Desktops, well, some of those games and more, RTS, Simulation, MMO, etc.
Every console in the house is used, and the only one that is made fun of is the Wii. Every system is good, some however are better for one thing than the other.

Alright, so aside from, a very pretty view of the moon tonight I have been meddling in the Procrastination Motel again, I have been sketching quite a lot lately, I just keep on piling them up in the corner and ignoring them. I am working on some of it more though so I might be uploading some art soon. Don't quote me on that.

Natural phenomenon
Posted 14 years agoSo some of our neighbors came over and herded us outside at around 1:30am. The moon here in Gunnison has this big "Aura" around it where it looks like the light has "punched through the clouds in a perfect circle, it is also VERY bright out. We took some pictures, tried to, one of us actually had a camera which got some good images, I'll try to post them later, it looks AMAZING.

Posted 14 years agoOk, so I'm doing all this from my Droid while in bed with my mate, but I finally got a new FA, I didn't bother a few years back because I didn't use FA much, or any art sites much for that matter. Anyway, most of my friends have FA accounts and so I decided to make a new one finally.
