MORPHICON 2014: Howls, Growls and Things Afoul
was a furrighteningly good time!
==___ THE YEAR IN NUMBERS___==
From attendance to panels to charity donations, this year’s convention was remarkable. We reached a record number of attendees at 317, put on over 60 unique panels, had 61 fursuiters in the parade, and raised $1,764.00 for our charity FURS (Ferrets Unlimited Rescue Services). All this in addition to the dances, variety show, Spectacle of Doom, Atomic Battle of Doom, video game tournaments and everything else that made the con one fantastic weekend. We especially want to thank once more our Guests of Honor, Krahnos and Fossil, who each put on several panels and did an incredible amount of artwork for the convention.
But this convention can’t happen without its dealers, panel hosts, volunteers, and attendees. We thank you for bringing your all to this convention and hope you all had as much fun as we did. See you next year for:
Morphicon 2015: Retro Gaming
==___SEND US PICTURES___==
Do you have pictures of the con you want to share with everyone? Post them to Facebook, tag us on Twitter, or email them to publicity[at]morphicon.org and we’ll upload them to an accessible picture hosting service. We’d like to let everyone keep the best memories of the convention and have the pictures to last them until we all get to come back next year.
==___LOST AND FOUND; UNCLAIMED AUCTION ITEMS___==
Apparently a good number of our attendees had such a good time at Morphicon 2014 that they could not bear to leave, and decided to leave something behind in their stead.
As you unpack and settle back in to "normal" life, you may notice an item or two seems to be missing. If this is the case, or seems to be the case for someone you know who may not be following this e-mail list, please contact Morphicon Registration if you think the item may have been left behind at the con at registration[at]morphicon.org
Those who won Charity Auction items and did not pay for/pick up their items should check their emails for a message if they have not seen one already so we can arrange payment and work out pick-up/delivery details.

Hotel Block Going Fast, Pre-Reg Deadline, April Newsletter
General | Posted 11 years agoMorphicon Miscellanea: Early April 2014 Edition
Scalies and gentlefurs, birds and more, come one, come all to Columbus, Ohio for MORPHICON 2014: Howls, Growls and Things Afoul
May 1st-4th
at the Holiday Inn Columbus-Worthington.
It’ll be a furrighteningly good time!==___ HOTEL BLOCK GOING FAST___==
We’ve already booked enough rooms to fill our initial room block and are adding more, but the rooms are going quick this year! The hotel has completely sold out of double rooms already and only has the single kings remaining. Morphicon has programming morning, noon, and night, so even if you live locally it can be handy to have a room at the con. Remember that the room block for the convention closes on April 14th, so hurry on over and reserve your room now before they all vanish into the chilly night air. Be sure to use the Morphicon 2014 the code "MC4" to get in on the special Morphicon room pricing!

==___PRE-REGISTRATION ENDS APRIL 18___==
Do you enjoy lines? Do you desire to spend as much time in one as possible? If not, give Morphicon Pre-Registration a try! Pre-registration makes things run more smoothly and is easy to do. You will still have the option to upgrade your registration later, including at the door.

==___CALL FOR FRIDAY NIGHT DJ & KARAOKE HOST___==
Picture it: the dazzle of the dance hall, the pounding of the bass, the cheers of furries, all because you, yes you, were there to mix it up. Morphicon is looking for DJs for the Friday night dance and we need you, yes really you, to show us what you’ve got. If interested in bringing what you’ve got to the Morphicon dance floor, contact programming@morphicon.org.
Morphicon is also pleased to be able to bring back Karaoke for this year, but we need someone who’s willing to keep the mic moving and the songs playing! If hosting a songfest is your sort of thing, then you’re the one we’re looking for. As before, contact programming[at]morphicon.org to let the resident programming owl know.
==___FRIDAY MASQUERADE___==
Do you want to show off your fursuit? Then come to the Masquerade on Friday night where the focus is on the suits. If your fursuit is paw-made, come to the pre-judging at 8:00PM where our judges will ask questions about your suit and you may receive awards for your construction abilities. Then at 9:00PM, regardless of how you got your suit, come on-stage to show it off to our wonderful audience where you may receive an award for your performance. You do NOT need a skit or pre-planned performance. You can bring your own skit and music if you want, or you can just groove to the music we provide. There are different levels of awards based on if you're a minor and if you've won awards in previous competitions. Marcus Otter may be wandering around the con Friday trying to pull in unsuspecting fursuiters into his house of horrors AKA the Masquerade.
==___T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST RESULTS___==
First of all, we want to thank everyone who submitted entries to our t-shirt design contest this year. From trick-or-treat cute to sinister and scary we had a great set of entries and hope that everyone will be back next year to take another shot at designing the next great Morphicon t-shirt! This year’s winners were:
First Place Nutcase
Second Place: The Jeweled Horn
Enormous thanks to everyone involved and we can’t wait ‘til you all see it in person!
==___CALL FOR LIVE DRAWING MODEL___==
Morphicon will be hosting a live drawing session as in previous years as a workshop for artists over the age of 18. It’s a unique opportunity that you won’t find at many other cons and we need the models to make it happen. If you are of age would be interested and comfortable with modeling for a nude drawing session, please contact programming@morphicon.org. No photography, video, or other image capturing of any sort other than the drawings themselves will be permitted at the panel.
==___CALL FOR CANINE SIG HOST____==
We are still looking for someone to run the Canine Special Interest Group meet! If you’re up for maintaining some semblance of order among a pack of canine (we personally suggest a whole lot of ball pit balls), please feel free to put in your name. This can be as low key and relaxed or energetic and planned as the individual host wants it to be. However you like to play party host, that’s what we need! Once again—perhaps for the last time this newsletter—if interested contact programming@morphicon.org.
If you haven’t already, go ahead and click this link! http://morphicon.org/registration

==___SPECTACLE OF DOOM___==
We've got a pretty scary themed con lined up for you this year, however the Spectacle of Doom (our scripted skit show) doesn't have to be scary to put together. That's where you, the faithful con attendee comes in. The Spectacle of Doom is looking for actors, puppeteers, voice actors, and stage hands to help make our show less of a horrifying experience and more of a fun time everyone can enjoy. If you are interested in performing, please come to the Griswold C ballroom during the casting call to pick up a role. Once you got your roles, there will be a script reading before dinner break, and then we return to the Griswold for rehearsals. After we've rehearsed each act, we'll be ready to perform before the audience. If you have never performed for the Spectacle of Doom before, this will be a terrific experience to get your performing aspirations off to a running start. Our director, SonicBlu, will help you along the way to help your experience with the Spectacle of Doom a more pleasant one.
==___CALL FOR PANELISTS CONTINUES___==
Have a unique skill to teach? Some fun stories to share? Just want to get people together to chat and have a good time? Why not run a panel at this year’s Morphicon? Every year we have a dazzling array of events for all the con’s attendees to enjoy and it’s thanks to the work and dedication of folks like you who share their time and talents. We especially need Special Interest Group panels (e.g. SiG: Canines) for the meet and greet types! To submit panel ideas and volunteer, contact programming[at]morphicon.org
==___FURRY VARIETY SHOW/MORPHICON TONIGHT___==
Have you got a skit you've been working on and would like some stage time to perform
it? You can do so during the Furry Variety Show/Morphicon Tonight! Just come to Furry
Variety Show (FVS) rehearsals and bring your material with you. If you don't have any
material but you would still like to perform on the stage, just talk to SonicBlu during FVS rehearsals, and we'll fit you in. With thousands upon thousands of background songs at our disposal, we can easily give you your 2 to 5 minutes of fame right on our stage. Don't be shy, just come to FVS rehearsals and RSVP to be in the show. The FVS will be combined with our late-nite talk show, Morphicon Tonight, so performance times will fluctuate, depending on how many acts are queued and reserving at least 30 minutes for interviews with the guests of honor. The show always starts off with our traditional "Silly Fursuiter Tricks", so at one point or another,
SonicBlu Darkfold may be wandering around the con floor looking to pick out a random
fursuiter at random to open the show. If you are interested, just do something silly for SonicBlu, and he may just select you to appear as the show's opener. If you're not interested, don't worry. Nobody will be forced into doing anything they don't want to do. Simply tell SonicBlu whether you are interested or not when he springs the question: "How would -YOU- like to open Morphicon Tonight with your silly fursuiting tricks?"
==___ATOMIC COMEDY HOUR OF DOOM___==
Attention all wannabe comics, laugh factory professionals, and those that have never performed live standup comedy (but always had that dream.) You will want to RSVP to appear on our stage for the Atomic Comedy Hour of Doom, which will be going on the stage right after the Spectacle of Doom. Depending on how many people we have signing up, the routine time per participant may fluctuate to conciliate with the one-hour time bracket. Again, RSVP beforehand first, before getting any stage time. If you have not been able to RSVP for a slot, please ask SonicBlu at any time if there is any room in the lineup to jump behind the microphone. We may have a spot open for you. First come, first served, so brush up on your comedy routines and RSVP early. The Box of Doom" will return this year and will be located at the bulletin boards. Fill out those slips and drop them in the box to RSVP. Details at opening ceremonies.

General | Posted 13 years agoOnly Three months until Morphicon 2013: Furries Around the World
It's the perfect time to pull out your mime paint and cat ears because Morphicon 2013: Furries around the World with Guests of Honor P.Moss and Ebony Leopard is right around the corner! So for all you felines, canines, and various other critters out there, set your calendars to May 2nd thru May 5th and grab your kimonos because this is one cultural throw down you don't want to miss.
Don't forget to Pre-Register
March 1st is quickly approaching! Why does that matter? March 1st is the last day to get the $10 Early Bird Discount (a whopping 25% off when registering at the Basic level!). March 1st is also the last day to register at the Hypertrophe level and get all the customized swag. If you miss the March 1st deadline for the $10 discount you can still register online until April 18th, and of course registration will be available at the convention. If you have any questions or concerns for the registration staff there is a online contact form at: http://www.morphicon.org/contact/Registration
For those who prefer not to register on-line or use PayPal, they can still pre-register through snail-mail and paying via check or money order. From the main registration page at: http://www.morphicon.org/Registration/ there is a link for the registration PDF in the "Convention Registration" section, just above the "donor levels" table: http://www.morphicon.org/sites/default/files/2013%20Morphicon%20Registration%20Form.pdf At the bottom of the form is the address to send check or money orders that have been made out to "Morphicon".
Want immortalized in Morphicon Memorabilia?
Those who register as a Patron or Hypertrophe by March 1st, will get a chance to be immortalized in a Morphicon edition of Loteria (A variant of bingo that uses Pictures) created by Kattywampus. There are only 54 spots with Hypertrophe's going first so if you want to be included in the game, the sooner you register the better your chances!
There are still plenty of slots left, if you've already registered at the Basic or Sponsor levels you can upgrade your registration by March 1st to be included. To do this return to the Morphicon Registration page and select your new registration level and select a $30 discount if you're already registered at Basic, or $45 if you're already registered as a Sponsor.
It's really important to act now as no registrations after March 1st will be considered for the Loteria game. Also of special note anyone registered at the Hypertrophe level will get the game for free as part of the Hypertrophe goodie bag. For everyone else copies will be available for sale and play at the convention.

Want to know more about our guests for 2013? Here is a little about them!
P.Moss
Meredith Waricka, More commonly known as P.Moss or just Moss has been drawing since she could hold a crayon. Cartoons and comics have always been very inspirational specifically the Gargoyles franchise which aired while she was in high school. Moss attended CCAD where she studied Animation (which she didn’t take to :u), Graphic Design and Illustration (which became her passion). Jumping into furry head first she attended her first furry con as a dealer and has never looked back. Moss has been a full time fandom artist for over a year now traveling to upwards of 12 conventions a year and living primarily on beef jerky, diet coke, and the love of her amazing fan base.
Ebony Leopard
Shawntae Howard is the creator, writer, and illustrator of the comicExtinctioners. He began is comic career in 1994, at the age of 17, when he self-published his own comic and sold in his local comic book shops. He first became aware of the furry fandom in 1996, thanks to a random chance search result on Webcrawler. Who know his first exposure to the internet and a wondering if there were others who liked to draw things like he did would result in thousands of search hits just because of the simple word, furry. (The most generic thing he could think of to describe his cartoon animals).
One year later, Shawntae would get his first chance at being a published artist, when his art submissions to Vision Comics would be accepted for their fourth edition of the American Journal of Anthropmorphic. It was thanks to that submission that he would gain the attention of Mike and Carol Curtis, writers of Shanda the Panda and Katmandu, who would contact him to submit samples of both books’ characters as an audition to become lead penciler for one of the titles. His submission gained him the job of head penciler for Katmandu, ,which he did for 14 issues. His work on Katmandu would lead him to doing his own series, Extinctioners, in 1998, which would continue with Shanda Fantasy Arts in 1999 for 15 issues, and now currently as of 2009 with Angry Viking Press.
Besides comics, Shawntae works as an art teacher, with middle school kids, has a massive collection of comic books, animated movies, and Transformers, and is a very happy soon to be husband.

Morphicon Miscellanea - April 2012
General | Posted 13 years agoThe End is Nigh
Yes, folks, the long wait is almost over. With only two weeks to go until Morphicon 2012: Fables & Furry Tails you can finishing sharpening your claws and preening your coats and think ahead to packing. If you haven't already, head on over and pre-register at Morphicon.org. While the early-bird discount is over (partially because the bird was consumed) it's still an easy way to get one more thing taken care of before the con.
As always, we have a plethora of panels and almagama of activities planned to keep you entertained. The Spectacle of Doom, Fursuit Parade, and Frozen Oasis all make a return this year. We'll also have the Dealer's Den and Artist's Alley open to help you buy and sell, what else, art! The patio will be available if you simply want to hang-out and, for those of you who want to earn a discount for next year, your Gopher Wrangler would love to hear from you if you'd like to volunteer!
Feel free to contact your Morphicon staff should you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!
Meet the GoH's: Text Edition, Part 2
Having already answered a pair of questions for you in the previous edition of Morphicon Miscellanea, Heavy Horse and Sigil, this year's Guests of Honour, agreed to answer two more. While we realize four questions are not enough to know a GoH, we do hope you stop by their respective panels at the con and learn a bit more about, and from, them.
What are you hoping to take away from Morphicon?
Heavy Horse: Lots of new friends and fans! I enjoy creating worlds and furry fandom gives me an opportunity to wander in my most favorite universe: the anthropomorphic. I want to take everybody on a tour of Coventry House, Yew Manor, and more, serving as your host to many worlds that you’ll take and make your own.
Sigil: Good experiences and some fun art done at the convention! I can't wait
to see what ideas you guys come up with!
Any tips for artists in your chosen field?
Sigil: Draw every day. Make your goals and come up with an achievable plan on
how to make them. Learn from everything you can!
Heavy Horse: Read, read, read! A writer is a reader, not only in the field in which they write, but stretch yourself into genres you would never write in and nonfiction subjects you think you would never be interested in. I doubt if I will ever write a romance, but I read romance stories. I read nonfiction w-a-y outside my own personal worldview and it has all played an important role in my writing voice and style.
Another argument for reading is that it helps you find your own voice. If I stand tall as a writer, it’s because I stand on the shoulders of men and women who are already giants: H. P. Lovecraft, C. S. Lewis, Paul Kidd, Alan Garner, Robert Holdstock, Ray Bradbury and many more. They were my first teachers who gave me the hunger to write by first sharing with me the wonders of their own worlds. My first tentative attempts to mimic their voices allowed me after many years to find my own.
Finally, all writers need to be tenacious. Calling it quits is not an option. We are always learning and the learning never stops. We collect rejection slips like old dogs collect fleas, but we never stop. Our Inner Critic calls us every name in the book, but we … never … stop.
Tenacity. It works.
"Yew" Know What You Want
Two more chapters of Heavy Horse's Yew Manor! We have taken the time to upload two of the final three chapters of this wonderful story to Morphicon.org. Heavy has agreed to read Yew Manor in its entirety at the con and we'll let him finish his story for you. At the conclusion of the con, Yew Manor will be posted in one piece on Morphicon.org. We encourage you to attend Heavy's reading to his wonderful piece so you might achieve closure just a little bit sooner.
Welcome to Goodbye
Speaking of closure, it is with a heavy heart and drooping tail I must mention your publicity fox will not be returning after this year's con. It has been a honour to serve on the Morphicon staff these past two years and I thank everyone involved and, especially, those who've enjoyed (or simply put up with) my ramblings. Have no fear, we are not planning on leaving the position vacant and are already speaking to others who have expressed interest.
That said, Morphicon is continually evolving. Furs come and go and we are always looking for those interested in helping plan and execute the next great con experience. If your ambitions are loftier than being a gopher or panelist, we encourage you to speak to someone on staff. You never know, it just may be you writing the newsletter in the future!
Thanks for the ride! - Foxx (in a box)

General | Posted 13 years agoAs always, there's the ubiquitous asterisk. This, however, does not mean you'll need to answer a survey or send us all the credit card offers you receive over the next month. Jewel say what needs to be said.
WHAT
Morphicon is just around the corner, and we need to put together the conbooks as well as fill up the convention bags. Every year people show their love through HARD PHYSICAL LABOR, and this year is no different. No, really though, we do need people, and the work isn't that hard. It's more of a slight distraction from seeing everyone before the convention. Think of it as the first unofficial day of the con!
We'll have snacks/drinks and then later on in the evening, pizza! Mmmn, pizza. But please keep the pizza off of the conbooks. This isn't Morphicon 2012 : Greasy Pizza Hands.
So, like, how can you possibly beat that deal? Good friends, free food, and all you have to do is play assembly-line slave for the convention for as long as it takes till the books are all done.
As an aside, we're also making props for the Spectacle of DOOOOMMM alongside the bagstuffing.

T-Shirt Winner Chosen!!!
General | Posted 13 years ago Unbeknownst to one publicity fox, Ms. Wampus had received more than a couple entries for the annual Morphicon t-shirt contest. One can only speculate on why the wampus cat would behave in such a manor (*cough* evil *cough*) but it garnered the required results.
Help us congratulate
darkicewolf for the winning design. His wonderful art will adorn all those able to purchase a t-shirt this year (they'll be moderately priced, we promise!). Let's not forget the beautiful art of our runner-up,
bloodhound, whose art will grace the cover of one our publications.
To see the winning designs, as well as all the entries for the contest, please visit https://www.Morphicon.org. We thank all those who took the time to participate in the contest and look forward to seeing you at the con!

Morphicon Miscellanea - March 2012
General | Posted 13 years agoHow Long Until Morphicon?!?!
With a little over month to go, your staff is busy working to make Morphicon 2012: Fables & Furry Tails the best ever. To that end, we are still asking for your input as to what panels you would like to see and calling for volunteers to lead panels and gophers to help out in with assorted necessary tasks. Any volunteer work will lead to a discount for 2014. For further information, or suggestions, please navigate to https://www.Morphicon.org/contact and select the appropriate department from the drop-down list. We thank you in advance for your help.
Meet the GoH's: Text Edition, Part 1
Keeping with our recent tradition of having multiple Guests of Honour, we thought it might be nice if you could get to know a bit about the GoH's before actually meeting them at the con. They were asked four questions and allowed to answer however they wished. Both this month and next will feature two of the questions in preparation for Morphicon. Sigil and Heavy Horse will also have separate 'Meet the GoH' panels at the con to answer any other questions you may have.
Now, without further adieu:
How do you feel about being chosen to be a Guest of Honor?
Sigil: I feel well...honored! I'm really excited to participate, and looking forward to getting some nice art out for people to keep as badges and conbooks and such!
Heavy Horse: For me it is a very great honor as it is a welcome recognition of decades of hard work, of honing my craft, and of learning from the bloodied fists of the “School of Hard Knocks.” My 22 publishing credits (as of this writing) came only after 20 years of rejection letters and learning the ins and outs of the art not only of storytelling, but the mechanics of submitting and revising and marketing. To have somebody say “Good job!” is one of the highest honors I can achieve with my art.
What are you looking forward to?
Heavy Horse: The first that comes to mind is the chance to entertain people. If at the end of any of my stories my reader says, “That was time well spent,” I have reached the pinnacle of my art. My second hope is that through the panels I will be leading or moderating, I want to be able to teach other writers how to write without going through all the pain and frustration I encountered. I made every mistake possible and some of them were winners where I went down in flames so glorious there are those who will talk about my failures for the rest of their lives. I want to help other writers avoid those blunders so my own tears and frustration have a constructive reason.
Sigil: I'm looking forward to meeting people in a different part of the country, as I've never been to Ohio! I'm also looking forward to doing some panels and demos and seeing my stuff printed! Other than for my own projects, I've not been published before!
Alan's Giving More to "Yew"
Two more chapters of Heavy Horse's wonderful story, Yew Manor, have been posted to the Morphicon website! As a special treat before the con, we will be posting two more chapters with next month's newsletter. Alan will also be reading the conclusion of his creation at this year's con. If you haven't already, there's still time to catch up with anything you may have missed. Take a look. You won't regret it!
Panel Stew from SonicBlu
Spectacle of Doom:
Hear ye, hear ye! The highlight show of the convention needs YOUR help! If you've ever wanted to experience performances on our stage, you may want to come to the aid of your convention by accepting a role in our Spectacle of Doom show. This show is scripted, so you won't have to worry about trying to think up something on your own. In the Spectacle of Doom, we'll need stage performers (mostly fursuiters), puppeteers, and voice actors. We'll have an open casting call before rehearsals, so come on down and see if you got what it takes to become a performer in the absolute must-see show of the entire convention.
Furry Variety Show/Morphicon Tonight:
Have you got a skit you've been working on and would like some stage time to perform it? You can do so during the Furry Variety Show/Morphicon Tonight! Just come to Furry Variety Show (FVS) rehearsals and bring your material with you. If you don't have any material but you would still like to perform on the stage, just talk to SonicBlu during FVS rehearsals, and we'll fit you in. With thousands upon thousands of background songs at our disposal, we can easily give you your 2 to 5 minutes of fame right on our stage. Don't be shy, just come to FVS rehearsals and RSVP to be in the show. The FVS will be combined with our late-nite talk show Morphicon Tonight, so performance times will fluctuate, depending on how many acts are queued and reserving at least 30 minutes for interviews with the guests of honor. The show always starts off with our traditional "Silly Fursuiter Tricks", so at one point or another, SonicBlu Darkfold may be wandering around the con floor looking to pick out a random fursuiter at random to open the show.
New rule for the variety show, effective 2012 (and beyond): Thanks to a very sudden, uneventful, and completely unnecessary "entry" in last year's Furry Variety Show, this year we're initiating a new rule. The Furry Variety Show/Morphicon Tonight is looking for participants to perform on the stage during our hour of entertainment. As such, we must reserve the stage time for those that come to rehearsal and make the effort to put something together to entertain the audience. IF you have NOT come to rehearsal, then you CANNOT be on the stage! NO EXCEPTIONS! If you want to participate in the Furry Variety Show, PLEASE come to rehearsal and audition your skits for SonicBlu's approval first. Otherwise, we cannot fit you in and we will not allow you stage time, since it will throw off the timing of the show (and nobody wants to have to sit through 20 minutes of drunken babble from people who have had a few too many in the Frozen Oasis party and want to be "adventurous" and crash a live show already in progress.) So to sum it up, rehearse and audition to earn stage time. If you didn't come to rehearsal, you don't get any stage time. It's that simple.
Atomic Comedy Hour of Doom:
The "Box of Doom" will return this year and will be located at the bulletin boards. Fill out those slips and drop them in the box to RSVP. Details at opening ceremonies.

T-Shirt Contest Over But Art Still Wanted!
General | Posted 13 years agoHaving slipped a Shiba Inu or New Guinea Singing Dog (we're not sure) to the wampus cat in lieu of the Publicity fox, Katty's appetite seems somewhat appeased for now. A number of you came through with t-shirt designs (thank you!) and judging is currently underway. Nevertheless, this doesn't mean she won't be on the war path in the near future. To help quell her hunger for art we are still requesting submissions, both visual and written, for inclusion in the con book. As long as the material is age-appropriate (no R-rated material) and related to the theme Fables & Furry Tails we will make every effort to include it. All submissions, and any questions, should be addressed to publications[at]morphicon.org. We truly hope to show your art to everyone at this year's Morphicon.
Fox Trophy and the Ending of the T-Shirt Contest (72 Hours!)
General | Posted 14 years agoDays have turned into hours and I'm tired of running. The wampus cat will have her arts or have a new fox trophy for her mantle. All I can do now is beg, borrow, and steal. And since I'm an honest, and broke, fox that only leaves me with begging.
Please, send your art for the t-shirt contest. I promise the winner will get his or her design on the shirt and the Free Patron registration. I promise the runner-up will get their design on the mini programming booklet and a Free Sponsor registration. All entrants will receive the $10-off discounted pre-registration rate and their art in the con book. I would promise more but there is that honesty thing I mentioned above.
Now I leave my place of hiding, tail tucked between my legs, to confront the Kattywampus. My only hope is that you'll check Morphicon.org for details and send your art to publications[at]morphicon.org to cushion the blow. Please don't let me down.

Bob-Tailed Foxes & One-Week T-Shirt Deadlines
General | Posted 14 years agoShhh! Do you hear it? The wailing that sounds like a woman's scream? Make no mistake, that is not a woman - it is a wampus cat. A very irritated wampus cat. Why is Kattywampus upset? It's simple - she needs your art. She craves your art. With only a week to go until the deadline for the t-shirt competition (ends March 15th!), she has received very few entries. Her appetite is insatiable and she requires quantities of artwork.
Please help. I don't want to lose my tail (which is only one of the appendages that will go missing, I'm sure). I'll do anything. How about a free Patron registration? Fine. To the winner I will give the free Patron registration AND the design on the t-shirt for everyone to wear! As a further incentive to gather art, I'll even give away a free Sponsor registration to the runner-up PLUS the cover of the pocket programming guide! And I guarantee everyone who submits art relating to Morphicon's theme of Fables & Furry Tails will get inserted into the con book! All relevant details are located on the Morphicon website (www.Morphicon.org), written in a sweet and innocent manner by said wampus (don't be fooled!!!).
Help me keep the bob-tailed fox an Aesop's fable. Send your art. Eternal thanks will be yours. And remember, avoid slinking shadows in the night. It very well could be...the Kattywampus.

Breaking News - Artists Needed!
General | Posted 14 years agoOur loveable Cuddly Battleship Kattywampus has been attacked. At approximately 8:30pm last Thursday a flotilla of Warrior Rats descended upon the home of Ms. Wampus and grievously attacked her. While she was able to put down the incursion (and make a wonderful mince pie), the struggle injured her drawing paw keeping her from much needed art-ings. We here, at Hyperbole News, are asking for your help.
First up, art is still needed for the Morphicon t-shirt contest. To that end, we are prepared to give away a Free Patron registration to the winner of the contest, and a Free Sponsor registration to the runner-up. The winning design will, of course, be featured on the Morphicon t-shirt for 2012 while the second-place design will grace the cover of our pocket programming guide. All other entrants will have their art attractively displayed in our con book. See the post at https://www.Morphicon.org for more details.
No less important is general art for the con book. If you have a piece you'd like to donate to the con, we would be most happy to receive it. We will make every effort to include any drawn or written piece of art pertaining to the Morphicon 2012 theme Fables & Furry Tails in our con book. While we cannot reimburse for this, you will receive our undying gratitude and space to publicize your work.
Any further questions regarding artwork can be sent to publications[at]morphicon.org and we will get back to you ASAP.
Disclaimer: Kattywampus is absolutely fine. As if a flotilla of Warrior Rats could do anything to her....

Intervention Needed! Pre-Reg Savings of $10 Ending Soon!
General | Posted 14 years agoFolks, you're assistance is desperately needed. Having come from Jewel's (your Con Chair) house it appears we have a problem. You see, a shopping list and coupons were spotted - 10 for $10 on Fancy Feast cat food. As you all know, Fancy Feast is high in calories and it appears Jewel will be purchasing /hundreds/ of cans (we're not going to mention the catnip). Why is this you ask? Well, it's simple: Not nearly enough furs have pre-registered for Morphicon and saved $10. This has lead to an overflow of funds which are scheduled to be funneled into such flavours as Chunky Chicken and Gravy Lovers Beef Feast. An intervention is needed!
Help us, and help yourselves, by using our available funds to pre-register for Morphicon. The deadline for pre-registration (and your $10 savings) is February 29th at 11:59p! Simply go to the Morphicon website (www.Morphicon.org) and click on the 'Registration' link) and the discount will automatically be applied.
Please hurry! We don't want our Con Chair to be either chunky or covered in beefy gravy! Thank you.

Who Are You Wearing? Graphic Designers Wanted!
General | Posted 14 years agoArmani? No. Gucci? Not quite. Hanes? Now you're getting there.
See, fact of the matter is, we need you. You can't see it, but we're groveling (trust us!). We have all these shirts and they're just so...plain. Blank. An endless void. In need of help.
Our t-shirts always feature something relating to the theme (this year, Fables and Furry Tails). As of now, we have nothing. Not a dragon, or princess, or fox in shining armour in the whole lot. And, while we can send you home with a blank Hanes Beefy(!) shirt, it's just not what we want to do.
All we're asking is to submit your design relating to the con theme. We don't even care what it is (within reason) as long as it related to Fables and Furry Tales. And since this is an election year, we'll even put the designs we receive on our website to vote on. Guaranteed, it'll be less painful than the polls this November.
What will you receive in exchange for your hours of painstaking work? Besides allowing us to adorn our t-shirt with your design, we're also willing to throw in a free Patron Registration! That's right, FREE! No strings attached. Receive publicity /and/ free admission to the con! Even if you don't take first prize, we willing to give second-place the cover of our pocket programming guide...oh, and a FREE Sponsor Registration! All other entries will find a nice home on our con book for everyone to see.
So get those pencils sharpened, those pens inked, and swing on over to https://www.Morphicon.org to get all the particulars! Hurry, though. Deadline for the contest is March 15th!

Early Registration Savings - Where You At?
General | Posted 14 years agoHey, you! Yeah, you! Why've you not registered for Morphicon yet? It's only the premier furry con in Columbus. What? Our money's no good for you?
