Last thing on my bday (happy and sad)
Posted 13 years agoSo I unfortunately found out yesterday that a friend of mine bailed on my 21st so they could go out drinking.
They didn't want to go with me because I couldn't pay.
I'm trying not to be bummed since I've never gone out for my birthday but it still bothers me.
On a happier note:
I am still really grateful for the gifts (It's too much), the kind words,
and to everyone who donated to help the horses.
I can't thank you guys enough and hopefully one day I can repay your generosity.Officially my 21st Birthday

RIP horror icon Bill Hinzman
Posted 13 years agoHorror icon Bill Hinzman lost his battle with cancer tonight at age 75,
closely following the 72nd birthday of George Romero, the man who brought us Uncle Creepy himself.
As the first Romero zombie to stumble onto the screen he helped inspire a generation of horror lovers & actors alike,
he even directed a few films and was the man behind the camera for some of our favorites.
He was known as an all around nice guy on the convention circuit and I wish I could have met him.
It's sad to lose another horror icon.

Free Art: I rarely ask for free art and the very few times I ever have it's been for a friend.
The stuff I get has all been gifts from friends and personally I also don't think I deserve it
but if they want to give me art then they are free too.
I don't know why it's been such an issue with people and I'm tired of getting notes/comments about it.
Winning Raffles: Ok, so I've won a few over the last few months. How? I have no idea.
It just happens. I pretty much never take the prize for myself, I almost always pass it on to someone with little art (if its art)
or to someone who I think would really like it.
So NO, I am not "rigging" raffles or bribing people (what a silly accusation) so stop it.
I'm not exactly upset, just annoyed that people are being so ridiculous lol

You won't save the fandom.
You won't get your point across.
MTV is not out to help you. They don't want to show your point of view. They will try and change what you say and only show you in a bad light. JUST ignore them. But it's like any media: They pick the one in the group that seems the most interesting. They will look at your FA if you give it (some of you said you had), ask you all kinds of questions and make you think it's a good thing.
It's just not worth it. MTV is CRAP TV for a reason...
They aren't showcasing people with amazing art or crafting skills, they are picking the people that make animal sounds at strangers and think they really are a catbatrabbitdragonmousething

Strays are drawn to me
Posted 13 years agoStrays always end up at my front door.
It's not uncommon to see a dog or cat sitting at my steps or hanging around my house (mind you I live in a collection of condos so I have no idea why they pick my house).
Today this cute little bob-tailed cat was sitting on my steps. He was very friendly and looked to be in good health (good weight, nice fur, eyes/paws were fine, no cuts/marks) but he was dehydrated. This was surprising because he was feral (despite being nice it took hm a bit to warm up, maybe he was just shy). So I gave him water but after a bit he saw a bird and was off on a new adventure. I left the water in case he comes back. Such a sweet little guy.
If an animal has a collar I usually try and lure them closer so I can bring them inside, most of them come then I find their owner/call the shelter.
It's surprising and sad hoe many animals around here get loose. You know what's worse? at least 1 of every 3 animals I return, their owners had no idea they were gone (including a large black lab I had at my house for a few days, how do you not know your dog isn't in your yard anymore?).
Now I really miss having a kitty.

That's what I hate about the war on drugs. All day long we see those commercials: "Here's your brain, here's your brain on drugs", "Just Say No", "Why do you think they call it dope?" … And then the next commercial is [singing] "This Bud's for yooouuuu." C'mon, everybody, let's be hypocritical bastards. It's okay to drink your drug. We meant those other drugs. Those untaxed drugs. Those are the ones that are bad for you.
"When did mediocrity and banality become a good image for your children? I want my children listening to people who fucking rocked! I don't care if they died in pools of their own vomit! I want someone who plays from his fucking heart!"

Writing again
Posted 14 years agoSo thanks to a friend of mine from far 'cross the sea, I'm writing again. Writing in no way means good. It's been mainly poetry since that;s the only type of writing I've ever done. Soon we will be doing a person 100 word a day challenge but won't be sharing it with others. It takes a lot for me to post things online because I'm aware of where my writing stands. On that note I am trying to post things online more, so here's something I wrote today:
I continually find myself immensely out of place.
Because I look amongst my friends to see:
artists, writers, musicians
...and me...
My smile, my mind and what I do as a baker,
could never compare to what you do with that paper.
I look upon your pages and don't understand,
why I too cant take what's in my mind and translate it with my hand.
All I do is rhyme, line after line,
Dr. Seuss and a child could produce writing so "fine".
This is all I can do to express what I want to say,
or I may snap, grab a friend by the shoulders and scream every thought scratching at my mind....one day.
