New Years Musings
Posted 9 years ago2016 was a lot of things.. from my political standpoint I can say that is was very stressful, but from a more personal standpoint I can say that a lot of things that happened I would never want to forget; I am glad that I have experienced them.
I have gained some new skills in my art and in my suit making, I have improved my organization and determination with my college courses, and I have found some ways on managing my stress better than I did before.
I made new friends and got closer to the ones I was acquainted with before (mainly through FWA), I met an online friend in person for the first time after knowing them for close to 5 years, this year hit the two year mark of me and my girlfriend being together and we have never been closer, I got to visit my best friend in FL since they moved there about a year ago (and flew for the first time), I did some charity work, I came out as a lesbian to a few family members (the most important one being my mother, who has accepted and supported me and my girlfriend)..
I saw how communities can come together during hard times to help lift up those in need after tragic times..
It was a stressful year but we have all made it this far and I know we can keep on going to work together to make our time in this world absolutely beautiful
...
For 2017 I do have some goals all of which I know I can achieve if I work hard enough..
To work on my kindness and spend more time with my family and friends
To improve on my health and overcome some challenges that come with my Type 1 Diabetes and PCOS
To try new things in my artwork and with my suit making
To love myself more

Posted 9 years agoHello everyone! I know I dont post much here but I figured maybe I should start doing so. I dont have much attention on my art account (most of my watches are over on my fursuit making account) but I feel like I can still keep this one active if not for watches but more for myself.
So, onto the topic at hand! There has been something I have really been pondering on when it comes to the Furry Fandom that really makes me adore it more and more.
Everything revolves around art.
Not just appreciating art (like anime fans do) but actually perusing art, appreciating artists more, keeping the act of buying and supporting artists alive. There are very few hobbies that involve actually appreciating art in that sort of way. Here, let me compare it to the renaissance era. Back in those times the general public who were wealthy enough constantly purchased paintings and commissioned artists for their works. Even the poor had a sense of appreciation for it and many artists had their names known by thousands of people.
Now switch back to today.. people dont know artists names. People arent perusing painters for their work or for commissions. If someone wants to decorate their homes with art they go get a cheap print from some home store that was likely copied in the masses through a machine. The Furry Fandom still has the feel of the renaissance era to me. Artists can build up a name in the fandom, through art alone even customers can have bragging rights as "Oh I got a commission from ______!" or "Have you seen ______'s new print? I have to get it at the next convention!" and many people will know who they are talking about. There are famous artists in this mass group of people and they can manage to make a living on what they do.. that is such a hard thing to now in this generation and Im proud of the fandom for helping people live through what they love like that. I cant think of any other fandom that focuses on art alone heavily like this and I know people outside of fandoms in the general fandom certainly dont.
This just... this always baffles me. Furries love art in a way I have never seen another fandom love art may that art be sfw or nsfw... it doesnt matter because it is still art. We have art shows at our conventions. Not just digital works but paintings, tapestries, sculptures, plushies, comic books, costumes, and commission work. I have seen all of these art forms offered at every convention I have gone to and they dont just sit there. People actually buy them and look at them and respect them just how art should be treated and I just find that so amazing
Thank you fandom for being one of the last mass groups to respect art as not only something pretty to look at but something worth having and paying talented people for <3

Furry Network???
Posted 9 years agoI am by no means leaving FA, but I wanted to know if there were alternate accounts that had higher/equal traffic?
For my art I only use FA.. this is because I dont even have much of a following here and I would have even less elsewhere so its not worth the effort. Would it be worth trying Furry Network?
And as for my suit work I use FA, DA, Weasyl, Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter. Deviantart and Weasyl are dead and I rarely check them when my quotes arent open but the other sites do fairly well. Should I add Furry Network to the list?
I just want to see if its a good/popular site before I take the effort. Seeing as it took forever for me to set up a Weasyl and that site is barren even for my suiting work. Furry Network It also looks more complex to run but Im sure Id get the hang of it, again, if its even worth trying to make an account.
Any additional info would be rad, thanks so much!

FWA 2016 Recap!!
Posted 9 years agoFWA was an absolute blast!! We stayed the whole weekend for the first time, I organized a room and stayed Thursday-Sunday with quinsecticide muntjacked southernpup_neon captainisoldeicktrough curritos All of them were amazing and absolute dears, I miss all of you so much already.
Getting to hang out and suit with old friends, making new friends, spending some nice time with my girlfriend, and getting to meet a long time internet friend were just some of the great highlights! Others were getting to talk to
twilightsaint for a moment in the headless lounge. They even let me look at their fursuit head (I wanted to see what professional seams looked like and look at a professional fursuit heads quality) and I also got to talk for a bit to 
facerot which was awesome! He is such a kind man, if you don’t watch him you should definitely go and do that.. same for Twilight!
Getting to suit in Tap with my girlfriend in Boom was really fun, getting to be bug girlfriends and getting lots of pictures taken and helping people smile made me feel great. Interacting with other suiters out of costume was also a joy! I love hugging and playing around with other suits.. even as a suiter myself I always get to invested in the character that these people bring out it is truly magical.
I was in the Artists Alley Thursday night and Friday and it was neat getting to draw other people’s characters, I want to do that again next year!!
OH and I handed out easter eggs with little cute prizes and gift cards in them, I hope someone found the golden egg!!!
Even the search for Waffle Hell in the heat of Atlanta which seemed tiring at the time turned into a funny memory I like to look back on, the over-all con was just great. Best year there in a long time!! Staff did a great job organizing it this year, props to them and to all the volunteers!
There was just so many amazing things that happened and I had the best time, I cant talk about it all without it turning into a novel so Ill leave it at this! I hope all of you had a great time too. Shout out to all of my roommates for being amazing and making this experience all the better. I miss all of you more than anything <333

FA's New Ad Policy...
Posted 10 years agoI highly disagree with this new nsfw advertisement allowance on the site, it is trashy and doesn't support our fandom's artists at all. I do understand that there is a lot of adult content in the fandom, but it being shoved into the advertisements AND it not being furry based has been irritating a lot of people.
I keep everything fairly clean on this profile, and I dont want my art to be associated with a 'porn site'.. but because most of my watchers come from FA I cannot leave.
BUT! If any of my followers dont want to use FA anymore but still want to see my content I do have other sites!

I loved seeing artist's ads and finding new people to watch through them but if hiding them is what I got to do then I have no other option. Fingers crossed that this gets fixed!

Im really excited, Ill be seeing the Legend of Zelda Symphony Orchestra. Ill even be in cosplay when I go since I have a pretty neat looking Link one :>

The day after that my fursuit quotes will be opening up on my fursuit account (MothSicleSuits). Ill post a journal that day about it on that specific account!
If I get any pictures at the LOZ Orchestra they will be uploaded to my Tumblr and Twitter (both are MothSicles)
