I Want To Be a Robot
General | Posted 5 years agoWow, I thought I had seen a LOT of science fiction movies but never this. Scenes from some Czech Republic film from the 60's ...and it's way better than some of the stuff that we (in the West) were doing at the time. I always love that Soviet Era stylization and some of the visuals are frankly amazing and imaginative, somewhat breathtaking in some respects ... well not all of it, but quite a lot.
Anyway, this is more about the song (I Want To Be a Robot) than anything; 80's goodness to be sure. But the visual are SO cool, I had to share.

An Interview with Isaac Asimov
General | Posted 5 years agoI don't know if you're into science fiction, but I surely am! And this ancient interview shows just how far thinking this man was at that primitive time and just how far thinking he was.
Here's the youtube link: https://youtu.be/365kJOsFd3w
It's very heartening for me to see someone (that I consider a major God of Science Fiction) really impress me from the dim ages of the past.
Seeing him now, with all of our technology, might make him seem a bit quaint; but gives me hope for humanity. Remember the time from which he came and the time of this interview. Truly some minds are open from the beginning and they can inspire us all.
I hope you enjoy this little snippet into the mind of a Sci-Fi writer that has always inspired me. P
Perhaps it's a little dated, but place yourself in that timeline of many years ago and consider the intelligence of that man from back then and beyond. It's always possible to learn from the past. And that will drive us into the future! That's a good thing. :)

Autonomy
General | Posted 5 years agoOh, I'm going to give you a link for a hulu.com documentary about Cars (and I'm not talking about Disney's cars here) I'm talking about cars in general and (coming to a home-town soon) robotic cars that will be driving you and perhaps your grandmother to the local WalMart. It's a very good and fore-thinking documentary (Autonomy) about what cars mean to us, and "have" meant to us as humans over the decades and just how things might be going in the distant ...or near, future. Be amazed because when my car starts talking to me and cares for me and takes me where I want to go without ME having to do a thing? Then we shall become one. And of course I love my old girl, so having her upgraded into an "autobot" is just about all I could ask for. ;)

Sorry if you don't have Hulu.com. I don't have another link atm.

The Villians of Dr Who, an illustrated timeline
General | Posted 10 years agoThe Dr has been around for a very long time (in one form or another) and he's got a LOT of villains in his past.
Here's a cool little timeline on Digg.com of who he's faced and what they did and their powers.. I still think the Daleks are my favorite though.
Enjoy!

Bull Godhead
General | Posted 10 years agoIf ever I were to submit myself to the dominance of a Bull God Minotaur (and the pleasures and pain associated with such submission) this is what his handsome visage would look like:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/F.....ulle_Paris.jpg
Behold the Minotaur master of your life! You should feel blessed as he takes his pleasure with you. ;)
This image has inspired me to new work and it has been a very long time since I have posted any new art. It is hard for me to do given some new circumstances of my life. Coming soon: new Minotaur art! :)
And no, FA being purchased by IMVU doesn't bother me at all. It shall be interesting to see what transpires in the future.
Minos....OUT!

Robot Nao Gagnam Style
General | Posted 11 years agoYeah something funny and robotic and cool. There's even a "touch" of robot sex at the 2:03 mark...just enough to be tasty.
http://youtu.be/51vQo-imc4Q?t=12s
I thought I would share to all those that love robots as much as I do...though I'm going to give you all more than a LITTLE robot sex cuming soon; where the Robot will be loving YOU.
The Nao robot is pretty dang flexible. I wonder just what else one could train it/he/she to do? ;)
Also, I sold another painting yesterday: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11732176/
It's bitter-sweet because I really loved that frog. But, why have children and keep them covered under your wings? Best to let the fly and be loved. :)
Minos out!
Spellbound
General | Posted 11 years agoJust wanted to note some very cool music done by this excellent musician
jericko.Spellbinder
A piece that, in my opinion, is very mystical and dreamy.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14153159/
Music inspired by art ...and in that sense it's the most pure form art indeed.
Give it a listen and contemplate a dream for a moment. :)

Shaaark!
General | Posted 11 years agoI know you just love sharks. I mean doesn't everybody? I certainly do!
I'm not quite sure when Shark Week is....because I don't really watch television all that much...but here's a really cool and funny shark comic (and a bunch of them too) from a guy out of Australia; and they know sharks mate!)
http://shaaark.com/
Enjoy the delicious, coldblooded-ness and the humor too. :D
Another painting sold!
General | Posted 11 years agoOh yeah, I've always gotta crow a bit about selling things. But you, my wonderful public, will forgive me I know.
I sold this little fellow finally after a year http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10796332/ to the same fellow that bought my busy squid http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7785454/ painting the year before.
And he made mention that a shark cel painting would interest him greatly. So, not only do I have some extra cash, I've got a project to focus on, and at this point in my life that is VERY important.
Life is good when someone wants to hang your stuff on their walls. :D
*crowing has ended now* ;)

2014 Startin' out Good
General | Posted 12 years agoI hope this is an auspicious premonition of the year to come. I sold a painting today! Yay! A super-nice lady came in the office and fell in love with Herbert's New Balloon....and really who couldn't fall in love with the adorableness? ;)
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11144928/
Of course he was framed and ready to go...and so he went! Yeeehaaaww! :)
Life is good. I need to sell some more paintings now, they are sitting around all over the place. X)
Kraftwerk
General | Posted 12 years agoOk sometimes you learn something (that you thought you knew) and it blows you away.
Here's my new most favorite band...and they've been around for 40 years.
Yeah, Kraftwerk the German band (and their influence is probably more monumental than the Beatles in our music today.) They were even sampled for the very first Hip Hop album ever!
Artists after them, from Gary Numan to Depesche Mode, could point to Kraftwerk as an influence.
I'm blown away and I can't get enough of this band. I've even got two albums (yes that's new vinyl albums) on order and I greatly look forward to hearing them in that format.
If you're interested you can see a 30 min snippet of their Southwold concert in the UK.
http://youtu.be/KFkdI7jffhI
Once the light-show begins you will be locked in and taken away.
Anyway, sorry to go on. I'm just super pleased and excited I discovered them...finally! Where have *I* been all my life?! :D
Minos....out!
