d10 RPG Conversions Galore
Posted 11 years agod10 Conversions Galore
I have made a LOT of conversions in my career as a World of Darkness fanboy. I like the challenge it gives me, as well as the feeling of excitement of finding a different way of doings things. Granted, most were abject failures, incomplete, or both. But I have done some that, even as they are, I'd be proud to share and hear comments on. An example here is a mechanic I made for creating morphs in an Storyteller System for Eclipse Phase:
Utilizing the mechanics from Infinite Macabre when building alien species, we vil create morphs with which people may digitize ze brain into! (as seen in Eclipse Phase).
Each morph has four tiered Qualities that are divided among Physical, Mental, Social, and Cultural(?), to define their abilities and strengths.
Primary -- 5 dots
Secondary -- 4 dots
Tertiary -- 3 dots
Quaternary -- 2 dots
In addition to this, each morph can take "drawbacks" to grant additional dots to spend on any of these attributes, spare dots representing space free for additional hardware and improvements.
The limited number of dots that can be gained from Imperfections equals to half the morph's original attribute total rounded down (5+4+3 = 11, so it's 10). Otherwise, a morph can have as many imperfections as the player wants.
There are 3 types of morph: sleeves, shells, and pods.
Sleeves -- Organic morphs, whether grown naturally, or from a test-tube.
Shells -- synthetic morphs, made entirely of inorganic materials like metal and plastic.
Pods -- hybrid morphs, part flesh and machine.
(Going to make a merit to represent Grade. If not taken, the morph a player starts out with is considered "basic".)
I've also done a conversion for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (2nd Edition), Orpheus, Wraith: The Oblivion, MtA's Digital Web, even H.P Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. All of these are ongoing in development. Please let me know what you think, and I'll see what I can do to fix things.
P.S: Big shoutout to d20's Infernum. Love the game, and tried to convert the setting to New World of Darkness (called Shadows of Abaddon).
P.S.S: How to play any setting using just d10 and the Storyteller System? Try my Ye Olde Fantasia aka YOF!! (granted, name's a misnomer since you can technically play in sci-fi just as easily).

Creative Nudity
Posted 11 years agoI've noticed for a while that when artists do nude character commissions, I get a little bored. Though not always the case, the piece depicts the character as expected, nude and in the mood. Problem is, there's not much left to the imagination when said-character is just standing there with discharged penii (penises?) or a clit wet with excitement. Sometimes it's good to have a bit of obstruction, even if just a silken veil, since you take a longer moment to undress the figure with your mind's eye, appreciating the artist's work all the while longer than you would have otherwise.
It's a trade-off, I guess. Instant gratification vs. blueballed frustration, but perhaps the best of both worlds would be in having a background setting where the character is indeed nude, but s/he's using the props on hand to "suggest" rather than immediately "do". Being the fine connoisseur that I am (stop laughing >:3 ) I feel suggestion is better than immediacy, as it allows for a story to be hinted at rather than be given at face value. The art piece lasts longer for it too, since people can look it over and come up with creative scenarios in their heads that they can run away with beyond just seeing a naked 'sona doing what all the others are doing.
Know what I mean?

Play-by-Post Gaming (both Adult and Benign)
Posted 11 years agoHey, been a long time since I wrote a journal. Just coming around to say I've got some stuff in the works, and that if you're interested in PbP, whether it's World of Darkness, Shadowrun, War 40k, or any other RPG, you can find me moderating and GMing here at calloftea.com, a forum for roleplaying whatever game tickles your fancy. And yes, sex scenes are perfectly commonplace. Trust me. We're also sponsored by the Malkavian Madness Network! So viva la Dementation! :D
My Voice Demo (Help!)
Posted 12 years agoSooo--I completed my training into becoming a professional voice actor, and have a website now to showcase my demo. However, I'm too shy and awkward to describe what my voice sounds like. Could you guys listen to this embarrassing demo and tell me what you think? You know, before I cast it into the fire? :3

Looking for Professional Artists (We'll Pay!)
Posted 12 years agoHey guys, long time no post, I know, but recently I've been working on a setting for the "World of Darkness" RPG called "Galactic Imperium." Basically, it's WoD IN SPACE!!
I'm looking for artists who'd be willing to draw and/or paint concept art for this setting, which already has a wiki under construction. It involves werebeasts too! One of the main splats being Werewolves (who have their own galactic empire). If you guys, or know people you know, are willing to help out, I will gladly pay you for whatever you can contribute to the wiki (within reason. >;3 )
Here's the setting thus far: http://mage-galactic-imperium.wikia.....wiki/Main_Page

Keep it Secret, Keep it Safe
Posted 14 years agoSo, it's been a wild ride of ups and downs over at my side of the world. Survived an earthquake, and a hurricane in the same week. Who knows? Maybe next it'll be a volcano!
Work has been work. Haven't been feeling the love for art as I used to, mostly because I'm still frustrated how long it's taking to get anything published. It's annoying as hell, and is distracting me from doing anything productive with my time, really. Even so, I've got college to worry about as well, so I don't have time to really commit to self-pity.
Been playing "League of Legends" at the behest of me' bruthrz, who has become obsessed with the VG phenomena. Currently, my best character is Zilean, the Chronomaster, but I hope to master Wu Kong, the Monkey king soon--then I'll be the one laughing-! ME!!
Now all I have to do is learn the Mikado...it's a paradox, a paradox, a most ingenious paradox! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, this pa-ra-dox!

When Nightmares psychologically violate the mind!
Posted 14 years agoLast night I saw things that Freddy Kruger WISHES he could imitate! Some of which are so filthy you'd best to not read unless 18 years of age, people!
So, it's Christmas time and I'm dressed up like Laharl from Disgaea arguing with a smartass cousin about the vampiric decor being made from construction paper instead of silk (this being after a group of muscle-bound furries with no shirts on went on an orgy and tried to force me into playing Chicken with a dragon, while driving truck with the dragon's sh*t covered baby in my lap, the sound of the theme from King of the Hill going on in the background as I scream passed a Seven Eleven, the dragon galumping after us while my partners in crime are making out with each other). But eventually the argument gets so epic in scale that I'm forced to CHALLENGE my cousin to a children's card game!
Sadly, the only cards I had were from an old Japanese sitcom about vampires, so I instantly lose, and am forced to travel to the city to reclaim my honor against a trio of nerds playing Yugioh! Who laugh at me until I use one of my cards to possess one of them and challenge them to a match. Eventually this conjures up sexual innuendo, and in order to win, I play a card that adds +4000 attack points to all monsters I control if they have sexually suggestive art! And the goblin merchant did because he had a talking green penis! So he blows the competition away and makes me victorious! Only to bring about the ire of Seto Kaiba as he discovers I have desecrated the virgin beauty of Yugioh! And so sends his blues eyes to destroy the local game shop I was standing next to, while himself grabs my legs and STOMPS A MUD HOLE UP MY ASS!! Why god?! Why?! What did I do to deserve this?! This is worse than the one time you made me dream I was on stage playing with a wooden duck puppet that suddenly grew until it was Hitler and ordered all the Germans to paint their lawns with chocolate and then paper-fold the local factory on its side! Or that one time I was a anthropomorphic male jellyfish who had a sex change just to go out with Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble AT THE SAME TIME on a beach in Taiwan! WHY?!! I swear I could not make this sh*t up even if I wanted to! I've been psychologically violated worse than Nightmare Ned! Dear sweet merciful God! I need a hug! BWAH-HA-HAAH!!

Rommel, you magnificent bastard, I read your BOOK!! >:3
Posted 14 years agoI finally found a fuerking editor! Who knew my aunt was a professional in the business?
But yes, the end is neigh! I have finally conquered the latest milestone in my epic quest for publication! I've even gone so far as to attempt self publication via Xlibris. Thankfully, money's not so much an issue for me that I don't have to worry to death about royalties, just getting my foot in the water will be all I need for future endeavors, true?
In other news, been bouncing on the psychological pogo-stick thanks to lack of one medication I need. Diarrhea and zany nightmares galore for a whole week! As for art, I've been a little bogged down by the lack of attention I've gotten from other gallery sites. Digital artworking is long, tedious, and soul sucking for me these days, and it only ever seems wondrous when I have a pencil in hand, and get to glide it across paper as if a conductor to a bunch of mentally derranged yodelers. Good times. Gooood times.

YAYERZ!! I haz teh Skype!
Posted 15 years agoI finally caved in and let myself be convinced into getting a Skype account, and actually, I'm enjoying it! I don't feel as lonely in my room as I used to, and it gives me a chance to talk to people without bogging down forums and threads with short worded posts. :)
If any of you are interested in chatting, mah name is, naturally, MrParaduo. Hope to read from you soon!

Aw Crap, We Over-balanced the Richter Scale
Posted 15 years agoHey, sorry for the lack of update. The world of RPGing has consumed a lot of my time. But the majority of my problems exist now in that I can't seem to get myself to do anything artistic or literature-related. I dunno, I keep feeling that annoying depression that my work doesn't mean that much, or at least, my art work. It kinda ruins my drive to work on anything at all, like I'll be halfway done with something, or even just pulling a piece of paper to draw on...then I get hesitant and lose desire because it doesn't feel like the work I'll do is impactful enough to satisfy me.
I guess I am a little depressed, since I hate not doing anything, and yet this lack of enthusiasm to do anything is making me lay down on the bed and just waste away hours thinking about just how wasteful I'm being of my time by laying on said bed.
*Sigh,* so, now you know what's been going on with me to some extent. Even so, I wish I could kill the naysaying of my mind long enough to do something artistic and feel good about it.

A Writer in the land of Artists
Posted 15 years agoIt's sad that it's taken me so long to finally realize and accept this, but I walk in a place where art is supreme, and my skill as a writer is null & void to those seeking to be entertained by visual desplays that I am amateur in producing...still, at least I can safely say that in a society like FA or dA, where artists are in no short supply, perhaps because I am of lesser representation I can be of more value in the eyes of certain clients?
What do you guys think? Should I try commenting art more often, rather than stress over actually making art? Do you think anyone would appreciate or care?

Two Plums Short of a Fruitbowl
Posted 15 years agoI'm alive, I'm alive. Sy I haven't been writing as often as I probably should. So many journals are popping into my inbox too that I get sick of looking at them all individually that I just end up nuken 'em. |3
Life's been going on. Been trying to keep my mind on my book and editing it further, while discovering that one of my relatives is a professional editor herself! So I'll be trying to see if I can get her to help me out with publishing everything I've been hoarding away in my memory sticks for so long.
Meanwhile, Thanks Giving was good, family was happy to see my cousin after so long. Work, work, work. I've gotta get back on track and focused on mo' work and less play.

The Difference Between Chinese and Japanese Art
Posted 15 years agoWhen you look at the two oriental styles of China and Japan, you see wondrous beauty, but for different reasons are they both awe inspiring, elegant, and enchanted with grace.
Chinese: Their art style focuses on lush color schemes, and detail so fine and delicate that you could only imagine how much you could see if you had a magnifying glass to take it all in. When they make art, they go all out, they leave nothing bland and simple, and revel in the use of brush-stroke fluidity of their designs, which at worst is gawdy, but at best? Truly divine and symbolic of their determination and dedication to improvement.
Japanese: While China is grand and awesome in crafting dreamscapes worthy of legend, Japan is a small island with a hidden talent that they have mastered through the powers of subtlety and restraint.
They focus on using as small amount of detail as possible, preferring to master their art in such a way that they can turn a single brush stroke or pencil scratch into a characteristic marking. Indeed! They believe in less meaning more, and refine to sparce but defined drawing concepts, ink paintings and more.
In conclusion: Chinese are grand and extravagently vibrant in their part, while Japanese are simple, small but so powerful that it can rival their Chinese cousins. One is a chaotically vibrant and vivid immortal rainbow of emotion, the other is orderly and honed with much time and struggle like the blue steel of a master samurai's katana.

Is there a Literary Agent in the House?
Posted 15 years agoI've finally decided to get off my ass and finally get to doing what I've been meaning to do since the start of July: I'm gonna get myself a story published!
Havens Gate is still being edited by moi, so I've decided to publish my novella: The Priest of Seven Ordeals. Problem? Well, according to a tutorial I found here on dA, I need an agent, or, to be more precise, a Literary Agent.
Problem is I don't know how to get one...can anyone help me? ^^;

Alternate Version to a Classic. >:3
Posted 15 years agoBeen reading The Great Gatsby, and for some reason remember this song:
Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer due.
I'm half crazy all for the love of you.
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage.
But you'll look sweet,
Upon the seat,
Of a bicycle made for two.
Michael, Michael, here is your answer true.
I'm not crazy all for the love of you.
There will not be any marriage,
if you can't afford a carriage.
'Cause I'll be switched,
if I'm to get hitched,
on a bicycle made for two.
Daisy, Daisy, here is my last refute,
I’m not crazy, save for the love of you,
Since you will not take to marriage,
Or join me in the carriage,
I’ll get to my feet,
And walk up the street,
To come over and say-F*CK YOU!!!
*Bang!*

Happy B-day to Me(?)
Posted 15 years agoYes, even the Prince of Nothing can get old, what part of Paradox don't people understand, we may never know. =3
So I'm one year older, I'm still quirky, and have yet to sleep with woman or even another man to be honest. But if there's one thing worth saying, it's that I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts *dadadada* there they are just standing in a row, *dadadada* big ones, small ones, and some as big as your head, you give 'em a twist, a flick o' the wrist-that's what the showman said.

The Style Chooses the Artist?
Posted 16 years agoIs it possible that in truth an artist is not so much the chooser of what style (s)he wants, but rather, is given a style during the training period? The way the artist passes his/her ordeals becoming the way their style manifests on any canvas? Depending on how an artist works ou problems or even thinks could very well cause such expression to become apparent in the way the artist holds a brush or pencil...ohhhhh, very deep...!
In conclusion: You don't become an artist by choosing your style from the beginning, sure, it helps to limit the possibilites of what style you come out with, but all in all, your style manifests only after training has commenced, becoming more and more obvious to make out as you allow yourself to develope during practice or work.

Paralyzed
Posted 16 years agoNot physical in the sense that I can't move, but really, I feel like a psychological paralysis. I want to say that it's from trying to figure out how to do all the things that I want to do, attached to that which I need to do for both the commissions and outside world, but trying leaves me in a place of inert confusion and feeling empty at the lack of achievement of even selfish desire for acknowledgement at large within the art community. I feel like I have so much on my plate and it's my fault that I can't get things done...and all just so I can feel like I have talent at something that isn't my superior strength. I hate being a perfectionist, but I hate more the fact that I'm suffering because of a desire to be charitable now gone over board. I hate seeing how I can't be as good as other artists, I hate feeling like my literature is not liked because it isn't an instant vision to people who're too busy to read or care. Most of all, I hate wasting my time in the stand off of worrying about not meeting expectations to people who aren't paying me anything but the notice and kindness of their hearts.
I'm sorry for ranting, I just wish I knew what to do, I have the ideas, it's just I don't know how to make them possible. How can I turn the image in my head into a painting? Or a cartoon? Or anything in between? How can I get my art to be as bright as that one over there? As detailed or emotionally satisfying? How can I not only make something that's approved by others but also by myself?
That's the paralysis I'm talking about, this failure in my character to get anything to work or become accomplished at the better side of the spectrum...I just want to stop beating my head on the wall and get around it for a change, it hurts! I really want to see more progress in my life god dammit!...But most of all, I guess I just want to feel like I'm accepted because of my abilities, not like I was the guy looking up at somebody that I idoled, but rather as the person being idoled for achievement, skill and character.
Maybe I'm disillusioned, maybe not, I just needed to express my feelings...thanks for reading.

Please Read If You Have Commission Due From Me-NOW!
Posted 16 years agoI have decided to due date my commissions for the sake of people's patience and favor! I require all commissioners to either place their time limit on me (which at minimum is 4 days) or remain as patient as the grave. Should I fail to meet the deadline, I will place an embarrasing fact about myself for each day I continue to belate my due date, that fact(s) disappearing only after I have completed the commission to statisfaction of the requester! NO EXCEPTIONS!!
Final Note: I've been playing with a new book outside Havens Gate! And it's a guide on how to make a character and/by his or her archetype! Almost 30% of the rough draft writing is complete!

Where are mah pillz, Dr. Mario?!
Posted 16 years agoIndeed, turns out that the reason for my slow and blah like state of purgatorial misery was all due to me mixing up how much and when I ate particular medications...so in a way it's my fault without being my fault...PARADOX!!!
I want to apologize for the lacking amount of updates my profile's suffering under, I wish I had more to show and prove too. Right now I'm feeling a little down due to reasons of failing in writing more of my book, doing amazing art like so many others I've seen, and yet is it that I come to realize how much I've failed to realize the most important piece to the whole thing: my attributes.
I should do it MY way. I've been too busy trying to be like someone else that I've lost the character in my art, it doesn't become mine, it becomes an imitation or shadow of someone elses.
From now on must I become focused in both finishing my commissions and doing the assignments given to me in real life. And God help me should I fail!
P.S: sorry if i haven't been answering your journals lately, been too busy and full of them in my mail box these days.

Wanna to play and be in a web comic d20 game?
Posted 16 years agoThat's right! Me and a few friends have developed an online d20 game of imagination that will involve letting me take care of all the technicle stuff while YOU (if you join) get to invent and have all the fun!! Well, I'll be as well, I'll just be doing more work then the rest of you bastards. ;)
Here's how it works:
<b>First:</b> Make a character. Don't worry about giving it any personality traits just yet, For now simply choose <b>gender</b> (too obvious), <b>race</b> (whatever creature suites you, so long as it's humanoid and/or intelligent), and <b>class</b> (career and/or job that your character has, think Final fantasy, but without restrictions, hell, you could be a necromancer, gunslinger or even great cthulhu if you wanted to incorporate it into a job, you'd still be lvl 1 though (let me handle the technicle stuff for all this, just have fun!))
Note: Your character can be anything you want under said restrictions-so be creative!! What what would your character use as a weapon? (e.g sword, gun, magick spellz, staff, etc etc.)
Your character will also need powers for the following:
<b>At-will:</b> your basic attack power which you can use as many times as you want.
<b>Signature:</b> your ultimate attack or ability (can use only once per day).
<b>Special:</b> your out of combat ability or passive skill (super luck, flight, counter attack, anything that can be used when not your turn.)
Don't be afraid to go crazy. I'll make sure whatever you use wont break the game.
Finally, the character will need a name and your permission for me to incoporate into a game piece (drawn art) thus shall I immortalize thee in an epic quest that shall have it's chapters written in at random cycles in time!! :dummy:
P.S: If more then three people ask to play, this might turn into a contest.
*Edit*
P.S.S: Here's a basic key for how to make your character usable. Enjoy!
Name:
Gender:
Race:
Class:
Basic Appearance:
At-will Power:
Signature Power/Move:
Special:
<b>Second:</b> Choose a team. Team 1 = Heroes/adventurers, Team 2 = Villians/monster leaders, and Team 3 = Neutral Mercenaries.
Here's the set up on a forum I made so far, I'll write a journal to everyone when it's time to start!
http://mrparaduo.proboards.com/inde.....d=1&page=1
P.S: Due to fear of over crowding, Team 1 is full till teams 2 & 3 have at least 3 players in each. Thank you!
