Hello techy ppl, care to share your thoughts about linux? I know absolutely nothing about it.

Yeah I know I know my posts were already very spread out but now more so as the school gets busier. And, if I'm being perfectly honest, I just haven't been in a drawing mood. In fact, after six years of rewriting, plotting and relentless self-criticism, I finally started actually WRITING my first novel. Stephen King said to write for yourself and edit for others, so I'm just plowing through and it's actually going pretty well. But I plan to get drawing again.

Also a newfound obsession with Maynard James Keenan has likewise been occupying my time.

By no means am I fan of romcoms, or romances in general. It's likely because I am unsentimental, and aromantic. However, Crazy Rich Asians definitely had its merits, and I quite enjoyed it.
For starters, the premise of "NOT-Your-Average-Eurocentric-White-Western-Hollywood-Lineup" was refreshing, and I especially liked that the movie mostly took place in Singapore, (Hence the Not-Euro/Western-Centric part) and displayed a part of the world very few Americans think about or have a realistic idea of. It subtly showed cultural and socioeconomic differences, as well as layers that go beyond the "Strict Asian Household that only cares about money" stereotype, the environment that I personally knew because of my dad's side of the family. The movie was not appropriating and showed what Americans deem as "foreign" in a very human light.
Overall, pretty funny, I hated the romancy gushy parts obviously, and I lowkey wish that the protagonist ended up leaving her boyfriend, would have been a sweet power move. Granted, I also hope that Infinity War's plot does not get reversed. I'm a sadist.

Tbh I should have done this many ages ago, but it only now crossed my mind again. Would anyone like to help me out with comm types and pricing? I think my current system of "detailed" v "basic" is more than a tad confusing.

Again, not dead. College hasn't even really been that bad, I honestly just didn't feel like drawing. But I have a nice long weekend of not doing shit and I promise to dish out some pictures!

It also doesn't help that my cat Darwin is really sick and we had to take him to the vet yesterday, which we somehow managed to pay for. But we shall continue to eat poor for another week or two. (Ironically every paper we've read in English so far has been about poverty and income equality hmmMMmmMMMmm)

Went pretty well, actually. I have my schedule set up so I don't DIE of workload, and that means that drawing will be possible. Psych and Theater on Mondays and Wednesdays, Math (For Liberal Arts Majors AKA the easiest math there is but it's still a two hr long class hunh hg h) and English. I don't have classes on Fridays! Supreme drawing time!
However, I am going to try to get Work Study, and I also have to walk to and from my campus...which is an hour walk both ways. I need to learn how to ride a bike.

Yesterday I had my two best friends come over to eat a lovely chocolate ice cream cake, then my mom pulled out some frosting. Now, she works at an audio tech company, surrounded by a bunch of techy engineer nerds, right? My mom said,
"So, my coworkers told me to write something on the cake that I don't understand...The cake is lost? The cake is a..."
"THE CAKE IS A LIE??"
"Yeah, that. I don't know what it fucking means, but they told me to write it on your cake."

This is the first birthday where instead of feeling joy I am feeling existential dread

Oof, these past two weeks were super fun and rewarding. I presented my independent project on epizoochory between habitats to a room full of scientists, and they were pretty impressed. (Granted I did have a lot more experience doing presentations as the second oldest person in the class) (I also don't get stage freight, and I figured out a way to channel all my aspergian tendencies into accentuating my points, which I guess works in my favor) But I'm happy to be home, back in my dark basement where I can draw in peace.

On an unrelated note, my birthday is in five days and I start college in like, a week. Oof

I'm gonna be up in the mountains for two whole weeks doing field work at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory in Crested Butte. We will have internet, but I know it won't be GOOD internet, so any drawings I complete or any pics I take may or may not be posted. We'll see.

Edit: I've arrived in town, and my internet is better than I thought it would be. We have a really cute little condo.
I really, really love this town. I honestly want to live here after college.

Ma soeur is selling her DutchAd head because she finds the idea of a skulldog easier (and monumentally cheaper) than making a full dutchad, and she wants it made by Lord It's not furred, it's just the base that I bought a while back that my sister modified and fixed up for use. Not sure what the pricing range is, but it should probably be in the $100-$125 range. Msg me or my sister for details and plz signal boost.
