Every now and then I paint icons, often for fun.
I did have a big list so I could pull names out of a hat but I've misplaced the list.

I tried an old old fashioned soft drink today called Moxie.

It tastes a bit like cola with a shot of Listerine. Or perhaps like plums stewed in burnt motor oil with a hint of cigar butts.

Its just ghastly.

And it gets under your skin.

I want it.

I want more Moxie.

I want more Moxie and I want it now.

Every now and then I get a Favorite has been removed by user message. Sensibly, it doesn't tell you which user removed the favorite.

Today I got about a dozen removed messages in a row. This makes me wonder not who removed the favorites or even why they were removed but instead curious about the way people uses the Favorites designation.

How many of you keep a limited number of faves and then clean out your faves folder now and then?

Do you just clean the whole thing out or keep on whittling it down to the best most favoritest of favorites?

How many of you do punitive unfaving? Something like Artist X did this journal where they said things I really dislike. Therefore I'm unfaving Artist X.

How do y'all feel about thanking someone for favoriting you? Every now and then I see on user profile that they don't want thanked for faves and watches. How many of you feel its common courtesy to thank someone for a fave? Do that rules of that change if there's a hundred faves? How many of you are offended when an artist doesn't thank you for your fave?

This all has me very curious.

So, after spending a few hours on this painting of a bear, I've discovered that what I thought had been van dyke brown on my palette was actually a very dark green.

This is gonna be an interesting bear.

No but I may be helping out some at the Shard Studios table.

• Do you do trades?
I do though I sometimes find it hard to draw in public. Sketchbooks are especially scary. I never feel my best when I just sit down and draw in someone's sketchbook unless I have a calm, quiet place.

• Do you do free art?
Rarely, but trades and collaborations are fun. Occasionally I do gift art for people as a suprise rather than free art upon request.

• Do you do commissions?
Very rarely. If I'm really interested in the idea then there's more likelihood of me taking on a commission. If my heart isn't in it, it can take ages for me to get a commission done.

• Do you have prints/ CDs ?
None.

• How can I find you?
Look for the big boarish looking fellow in a hawaiian shirt outside the Westin, enjoying a big fat cigar. You can probably find me near the Shard Studios table, helping a friend sell his really awesome anthro RPG. Really, I'm easy to spot. • Can I touch you?
I don't mind hugs if'n you've good hygene but hugs are usually reserved for people I've had contact with in some for or another. If you're a stranger and want to touch me, I'd stick with a handshake.

Nah...seriously, I'm kind of shy so I'm not overly touchy.

• Can I talk to you?
Feel free. Just keep in mind that if I'm engaged in a conversation with a friend, I might be less likely to want to drop what I'm doing if you're a stranger. I am most approachable when I'm outside, in front of the Westin, enjoying a cigar. If you see me, say howdy.

• Can I smoke a cigar with you?
You most certainly can. Cigars are a very social event for me. You don't even have to bring your own. I usually have a few spares. Just
don't waste it.

• Can I buy you lots of drinks?
I don't go to bars but if you brought some really good beer, I'm happy to share it with you.

• Can I give you lots of money?
Why would you go and do that? While tips are nice, I've been so slack on my webcomic that I hardly deserve one. I suppose if I did a badge trade, I could trade original artwork on my side for really nice prints of American presidents.


• Can I hang out with you?
You can try. I do wander a bit. I'm usually feeling pulled in 8 directions.

• Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Maybe. It helps if I know you. It helps if I'm comfortable with you.
I'm actually quite shy. No. Really.

• Are you nice?
I'm just a mean ol' boar. Still, I'd like to think I'm fairly nice and generally hospitable.

• Are you cliquey?
Oy. What is this? High School? I really don't dig people telling me via social pressure and snarkiness whom I can hang out with. Fuck being cool. If your self-esteem is derived from being in a clique then you're pretty pathetic. Stay away from me.

• Can I stalk you?
Don't be a creeper.

• Do you like parties?
I don't usually go to parties...unless the majority of the people there are people I already know and feel comfortable around.

So...anyone artists out there watchin' me feel like doing a badge trade? I'm up for doing a handful of watercolor badges. I don't have a sample yet, but I'm sure once someone volunteers, I'll have one up in no time. :)

Well, while Furry Fiesta was quite fun, I seem to have come down with the con crud.
As a result, my voice sounds pretty darn roached. This is always fun to me and perfect for doing the voice of my fiendish swine persona, Mulefoot.

So here I am about an hour from San Antonio and about 2 from Austin. It took forever to get the move over with, but now I'm finally settled down. Need to start meeting my fellow Texas furs.

With Near Years come resolutions and good intentions. They're often broken or forgotten. So why do we make these promises to ourselves on this particular date? Why do we choose tonight to affirm our desire to change? Simple enough. We mark the passing of the year.

We each have our own more personal orbital mile marker called a birthday but only 1 out of 365 people shares your birthday. New Year's is something all of us Western Civilization, Gregorian Calendar following people can celebrate together. We can talk about our shared experience and or personal short comings. I think its good to promise ourselves we'll do better.

Tonight is more than just New Year's eve. Tonight is something more special and rare. Tonight is a Blue Moon.

I'm sure you've heard the old saying, "Once in a blue moon..." to mark the rarity of something. How rare -is- a blue moon? Well, they only occur once ever 2.5 years. It has nothing to do with color but everything to do with phases of the moon. A blue moon is when there's two full moons in the same month. (note: this is a newer definition of blue moon and originally it meant an extra full moon within a season)

A blue moon falling on New Years is rare indeed. There won't be another one until 2028. So if you're going to keep your New Year's Resolutions just once in a blue moon, do so tonight. Make it count. Keep your promise.

So, a few years ago I came up with this submissive shepherd character to be a companion for a lecherous trucker bear character I'd drawn. I even did a painting of the bear marking the dog. Recently, I decided I wanted to commission someone to do the character and so I asked  ssirrus if they'd be up for it.

With just general hints and cues from me, Ssirrus somehow managed to not just read my mind but take a telepathic photograph of the character in amazing detail.
