Okay, so good news guys!

So if you didn't read my last journal, the long and short was that the person I'm talking to lowkey cut me off because I was a furry.

Well we talked about it (and they did admit to having a minor freak out?) and it seems like it wasn't a deal breaker! In fact things are going pretty dandy between us, so that's really neat.

I saw them tonight and we flirted pretty hard. Or rather, they flirted really hard, and I literally tripped over myself trying to be smooth, slid to the ground and covered my face and they said it was "adorable" which flustered me even further. Suffice it to say, no number of cool blazers will ever make me cool and I'm just a gay nerd.

I think they might actually like me! That's exciting! We might Over the Garden Wall and Chill soon!

ALSO ALSO ALSO I have a high chance of snagging an internship in my actual field! That's even more exciting.

So recently, I met this pretty interesting person at college. They needed to interview LGBT+ students for their anthropology project and they came around to the GSA table during the club expo to ask me. I agreed, and I'd be lying if I said that I didn't think they were cute the first time I saw them.

They interview me and it turns out we had some pretty nice chemistry together. We even go on a lunch date, and we both had a good time. I text me friend about the sorta date and about how I wouldn't mind going on a for realsies date with this person and my friend said, "JUST DO IT."

Of course.

So I asked them out on an "honest to god, Capital D Date-Date" last week and they were not opposed to the idea? And even thought about it being a possibility. Unfortunately, because I'm part of their project, they don't think it's "ethical" to go on a Date with the subject and we're going to have to wait until the project is done.

Come the weekend, we have a nice little back and forth texting/snapchatting going on and I say some funny things, and they talk about Date ideas and it's going pretty swell until they wanted to exchange instagrams.

Yikes.

Because my IG has my fursuiting pictures on it, and I thought that they might not be the biggest fan of furries.

TURNS OUT I WAS RIGHT.

The text I received after the reveal was: "I'll forgive you soon. Just give me a moment".

Then: "[I am disappointed that you are a furry]. Personally, I find furry stuff gross".

We haven't really texted in earnest Before the Reveal. Woof.

To be honest, I'm a little disappointed because I was getting excited at the thought of the actual dating process (especially since I've really 'come out' this year). I kind of just fell into my last relationship, but whatever this was shaping up to be would be deliberate. Now I'm afraid I scared them off and screwed everything up because, out of all things, I'm a giant animal person nerd.

We'll see what happens. You win some you lose some and why would you date somebody who doesn't even want a fursona anyway?

Guys I'm really excited.

Last week I was researching transfer colleges and I stumbled upon an creative internship (copywriting) at a local advertising company.

Their website is glib and snarky and self aware. Hell if I'm not all three of those things.

Needless to say, I am goddamned qualified for this gig. I lowkey have my heart set on it too. It just seems like the place I need to be. This internship is perfect- short and sweet, but also actual experience in my field (marketing). I see it as a key stepping stone for other internships, namely one with Disney (again! I need my maingate back, gosh dangit!). I also have been playing around with the idea of picking up an internship in Kansas City???? I dunno, one of my best friends lives out there and has said that I could live at her place for the summer if I landed something there. Who knows.

Anyway, this would be a really really really good thing for me guys: professionally and it'd give me a bit of a self-esteem boost. I've been feeling really frustrated with where I am lately and I need to start getting out there and doing things (like Roller Derby... another journal for another day... probably a commission journal tbh) and feeling good about myself again.

There's just a lot.
