General | Posted 7 years agoA lot of things have happened since I last posted. Many bad things. This coming Monday will be the worst for my husband. keep him in your prayers and thoughts. His job sucks.
Xbox 360 Red Light
General | Posted 8 years agoSo tonight I was going to use it and at first the controller refused to work (just blinked at me) then the power button on the console went from green to red and nothing would happen. So far we've tried vaccuuming with compressed air but that didn't work.
Anybody out there faced this problem and if so, what did you do?

Grinchy Christmas: Emergency Commissions
General | Posted 8 years agoHow would YOU like to be the one who ruined Christmas for your family? Well, I just found out that's what I did.
We got something in the mail today. It was a notice from one city over that I was caught running a red light by a red light camera on the road. I thought I made the light and turn, but you could go to a website that shows the actual event on video. The "fee" was $100 that Dineegla paid. Money saved for any Christmas things is now gone.
Din was angry. Very angry. He shut down his webpage on FA for the time being. He was able to cover the ticket but now it's virtually put the kibosh on any Xmas festivities and I feel lower than a snake's belly over the situation. The worst part is if I had gotten stopped by the police in person I would be in serious trouble because I have an expired license. This really was a wake-up call to not take things for granted and not jeopardize our relationship.
So, I am putting the word out for emergency commissions to cover the cost:
Either 5 inked bw at $20 or 10 pencil sketches at $10 ea or $50 colored (even better), or any combo of the above, is the goal. BUT YOU CANNOT PAY ME UNTIL THE WORK IS DONE AND IN YOUR HANDS.
I don't ask it for me. It's to help Dineegla. God help me, he's got the patience of a saint, but when he reaches his boiling point even a saint can lose a halo.

So you wanted to know how my birthday went?
General | Posted 8 years agoIt cost Dineegla near a $1,000 to cover water damage!!
Well, I’ll tell you. On Tuesday, my birthday, Moosie and I were going to go to Denny’s where I could have a free breakfast. At 9 AM I went to take out the dogs, and I was hit in the face when I opened the back door with the smell of back-up sewer water. AGAIN!
Moosie and I went downstairs and proceeded to mop out the basement, me in my bare feet and Dineegla in his now waterlogged shoes. Remember, he still can't stand up for long periods of time so he mopped sitting down. We weren’t getting that much success so Moosie went to Home Depot to purchase 50 feet of hose and a water pump. I couldn’t leave the back-up: it was too deep and kept on coming up fast.
Now imagine this: I had to help him into the minivan and put his wheelchair in and he went to Home Depot, got out his wheelchair out, shut the car and went inside, picked up the pump and then went into the garden center for 50 feet of hose. A very nice young man helped him carry everything to the checkout, and then helped him back into the minivan, and put his wheelchair in the back. When he got home, I met him outside we got him inside. About an hour later I went for another of the same pump. Got to be pretty expensive.
Our regular plumber never answered his phone, and we went with somebody we did business with once before. They got there around 12:45 PM and proceeded to rod out the sewer and get rid of all the tree roots, which our normal plumber was supposed to get out, BUT DIDN’T. That plumber we will never use again.
So now we have three garden hoses running out the basement to either side of the house, with sewer water running out of them. We also had a submersible pump that Dineegla put in the water bucket that would draw the water out of the bucket while we were mopping up. That helped a lot. When the guys were done they gave us a bill that was $50 more what it should’ve been. Moosie caught it, And told them they overcharged us, and proceeded to give them a counter offer, which they accepted. Don’t f*ck around with my husband!
And you also know that we have a tenant who lives in the basement apartment, right? Well his bedroom took on water, too! We called the carpet guy we use and he came over quickly with industrial fans and came back the next day to shampoo the bedroom and small hall, which I was squeezing the water out of the rug with a shop vac.
We got done about 9:00 PM. We were cold, soaked, smelled like sewer water and very tired. Moosie was very upset that I didn’t have a birthday meal, that he ordered from a local pizza joint who gave us a discount when they heard about our problem. Somehow we managed. They were very nice!
A day later we were telling weaselZERO that my birthday sucked, and while we were talking on the phone he gets online and gets us a gift certificate to our favorite local steakhouse, which, by the way had a little luncheon special going on until the following day. Moosie was crying over the phone and I think Weasel got embarrassed but he is such a nice son. We love him a lot. So we went on Thursday and the waitress honored the coupon for both of us (it was only good for one). She then surprised me with a huge sundae that we split because Moosie told her how bad my birthday was. Since Weasel basically paid for lunch (and it is an EXPENSIVE place, especially for dinner!) we left a nice tip for our waitress.
Now our finances are now set back again. Every time we try, Moosie gets knocked over. Hopefully we can rent out the 2nd floor apartment SOON because we finally got the drug addict out of there! I'm sorry to complain, but it's been so hard on Din since I can't have a job in America because I have no social security number yet. So I'll try to get more artwork commissioned and done ASAP. On Friday the woman who was planning our Ice Cream Social up and quit. She is not a very nice person to do this to the Museum.
She never wanted the fursuiters at the event because it wasn't HER idea. But I KNOW in the past we had them and they were wonderful! Can anyone step up and help????? Even friends of the fursuiters are welcome to help serve and work the crowd.

Quasi Skunk helped us a few times, and sadly he will be missed, may he rest in peace. But can anyone help in HIS MEMORY this SUNDAY???? It would be a nice tribute to the man.
Also if there are any artists that can draw quick sketches or caricatures and would like to help, we could use you for an hour at a time!

General | Posted 9 years agoYup. With things getting a little less hectic and all, I'm opening back up to B/W line art pics at $23 (no colors at this time). With the holidays coming soon, it's not to late to get into the spirit of things with a pic of your fursona doing something Xmassy or whatever. Tasteful nudity is possible but I reserve the right to refuse. No nasty stuff or fetishes, of course. All proceeds go to taking care of our usual bills and donations are always appreciated.

General | Posted 9 years agoSo yeah, I turned 63 today. I wanna thank all the well wishers that shouted at me. It's true we've been pretty inactive for some time due to RL, Din's surgery and on-going recovery (which is going real good btw) as well as work and tenant issues and it's gonna take some more time to get back to what passes for normal around here. We do hope to get back in the swing of things with art, commissions and even Max Minotaur so don't count us out just yet.
Btw, with any luck, we WILL be back at MFF this year so watch for us.

VERY Important Notice! Part 2
General | Posted 9 years agoWell, after a day of re-scheduling, rushing around and a whole lotta waiting, I can happily say that Dineegla's surgery went off without a hitch. Tonight, he is in recovery and is a whole lot happier with the metal in his hip instead another spacer. Of course there is still the rehab to go thru but compared to all this, that'll be a milk run.
