The Gulf Music Scene Magazine reviewed my album! =D
Posted 15 years agoSo, last Christmas I released an album for free download, available here http://touchbiloxi.bandcamp.com/album/lauren and have been going through what I suppose are the steps to recognition and all that, so I sent my "Lauren" album to a local magazine, The Gulf Music Scene (I don't think they have a website yet, but you can find them on facebook. o.o;; ) and they reviewed it! Here's what they had to say:
This is the review Gulf Coast Music Scene gave my Lauren album: The term "experimental band" is used to explain too many bands that no one is sure how to label properly. This band is more of an exploratory band with a wide range of songs that run the gamut of Country all the way to trance/house/electronica. "A Moment of Insanity" is incredibly catchy and draws you in until you might catch yourself with your eyes closed swaying back and forth. "Rorschach" is a seven minute assault of metal that starts slow and builds into a nice heavy sound. "Moonlight Song" starts off really Jazzy and jumps straight into rap that is very well executed. "Penance" made me think the beastie boys were going to jump out and start singing, but then the song takes a different turn and becomes more of a house music song. Overall the cd is really good, though i prefer the electronic songs over the acoustic ones.
So there we have it, not too shabby. =D I'm pretty happy with the review, and I thank them for their constructive criticism! Also, if you have any comments or suggestions or anything to say, then please comment. =P

Alone on New Years Eve (Don't worry, not an emo journal.)
Posted 15 years agoWell, maybe just a tad bit. But I'm really not the type to turn your head around with a sad bitchy journal post. I just feel a bit disenchanted that at the end of one of the best years of my life I'm still little more than alone, broke, and getting drunk/stoned.
I don't know when I subconsciously decided to avoid people and social situations, but that's just not me. I like people. I have faith in people. I like parties and things. I guess that's the downside to not knowing anyone around here. I mean, I'm not the most outgoing person in the world, but I'm no shut-in.
I feel sort of like my brain isn't working right. I've had this song I've been working on for three days with little progress. I mean, it's already all written out and everything, all I need to do is just record the damn vocals, but it's taking me forever either out of lethargy or just plain laziness.
Speaking of laziness, I've been konked out alot lately too. By which I mean tired as fuck all the time. The other day I went to sleep at three in the afternoon, what the hell is that??
I don't really have a point, other than I felt like I just needed to say some of these things. I just pictured this year ending a whole lot differently.

Technically No - This is an electronic album. Lots of Dance and Ambient and even some industrial!
Lauren B-Sides - These are all of the tracks that were made along the way to creating and completing the Lauren album, there's some pretty great stuff here, including two remixes of the most popular songs from the Lauren album, the Biloxi Love Song, and My Beautiful Friend!
All together we're looking at 55 tracks! You also get some nifty album art and track listing/information with the downloads. =D So go out and check it out!

You can download them for free at the aforementioned link.
I just want to say I had alot of fun making these albums! I've had a good chance to experiment with all kinds of music, and I've found that it's what I love. I even already have more planned after this, you can expect neat things from Touch Biloxi in the future! =D

Rap album officially in the works!
Posted 15 years agoWell, I figured since my first albums are coming out on Christmas I'd go ahead and let you guys in on what is coming next!
I've been working on a rap album for a couple of months now, and it's really starting to get into gear, the working title is "The World is Obviously Going to End Soon". It's going to be very centered around electronic beats, but with a wide range of influences tethered to that ideal. In the tradition that I'm starting this Christmas, there will be two more albums to go along with it, though of course separate from the rap album in themselves.
Also, I'm starting college again soon, so I'll be having a lot on my plate, but I'm dedicated to bringing everyone lots of neat music. =D So remember that the albums will be available for digital download from http://touchbiloxi.bandcamp.com and keep yours eye peeled for more coming soon.

Posted 15 years agoWell you guys, it's been a pretty good week for me. People seem to like the new music video I put out, and I've submitted my album for review by a local magazine. Also, I suggested my track Lady Break Dreams to Furry Musicians for their feature. Here's to hoping for the spot! =) I'm pretty glad that I joined FA, because I've found a whole slew of neat songs and artists I would never have found before!
Anyway, it's about 2:00 am right now, and I have to at least try to get my sleeping schedule straight, so I'm making this short, bai!

I am a furry. I consider myself a Carrot, which would be a mix of a cat and a ferret. I haven't been to a con yet, but would like to play one, one day. I enjoy the fellowship I find in the furry community. Through it, I've made some lasting friendships.
Well, that's just a little bit about me. ^_^ I hope you enjoy my stuff.
