New Glasses!
Posted 10 years agoI'm secretly crosseyed. It's pretty subtle and usually just does things like cause extra eye strain and make me vomit on long car rides unless properly drugged or wearing my driving goggles (which have prisms in them).
Lately though, my eyes have gotten a bit stronger at focusing on things in the distance, but weaker at near things, especially computer screens. As a result I've been getting killer headaches and nausea from computer use. So aside from lurking and watching some artists I follow, I haven't really been feeling up to doing too much.
But now I have a pair of shiny new computer glasses, and after getting used to them for a day I have to say they have improved things quite a bit. I'll try to get some celebratory art done soon.

Posted 10 years agoA guy with some pretty neat art is holding a raffle. Nice prizes, figured I'd go ahead and toss my hat in, and let everyone else know about it too. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6859099/
General business
Posted 10 years agoI've been trying to play catchup with life, my man was laid off right after I got a new job so I'm hauling ass to make enough money to cover the bills. Haven't had as much time to doodle as a result (and I've been too tired the times that I have time). I've managed to keep us afloat as well as have some spending money so all's good. Hopefully he'll be able to get back to work soon and I'll be able to relax a bit more.
Texas sucks
Posted 10 years agoOr at least the trees do. Damn plants and their pollen. I might as well have had the flu for the past week, it felt like it.
In other news finally got some proper descriptions nailed down so I'll be throwing some werewolves (and maybe a dragon) up here soonish.

game update
Posted 10 years agoSo far it's looking like a balanced roster as far as auspices go. I'm rather surprised.
metis ahroun, homid galliard (formerly glass walker), homid philodox, metis theurge (formerly child of gaia), lupus ragabash
I'm probably going to kill them all eventually.

More characters soon
Posted 10 years agoThe game I was originally only going to run for my mate (the one playing Ghurghuk) has suddenly turned into a full 5 man party. So getting character details from people, then will probably start doing some character illustrations/references/whatever. And then one day, God willing, the game will actually start and I'll get to writing the adventure down as a comic.

Soul searching
Posted 11 years agoIt's been a while since I actually sat down and thought about personal things. I allow myself to get wrapped up and hidden in the myriad of projects I find myself involved in to keep busy and distract myself with (which usually just leads to not being able to finish those projects due to distractions). It's nice to force myself to slow down and think for once, to contemplate the unknown.
In comic/game news I've got a few characters with actual personalities now, I just have to create some references for them (which sadly will involve some very shitily drawn human forms until I get good at them).

Goliath Online
Posted 11 years agoNew office is set up enough that the tablet has room to work on but I only had time for a quick doodle before running out for errands. I'm considering creating a comic based on a WoD rp I plan on running for my mate. The game will be run regardless of me creating a comic of the events in it, and it's going to be a BSD game (*secret nerdgasm*) so it will probably be full of terrible, terrible things.
Thoughts on the comic: I'm terrible at keeping up with these types of things. There's a high chance I'll get bored and just stop doing it. I'd feel like a dick for letting any fans (both real and imaginary) down. On the plus side, it would definitely help with both the speed and the consistency (and hopefully quality) of my illustrative technique. And I think it could be fun... I love to read comics, so creating something might be nice to look back on later.
Eh we'll see how it goes. I haven't even hashed out the details of the game yet, he hasn't decided what his character is going to be, etc. In the meantime I'll probably be putting up a bunch of sketches and doodles of werewolves and people just to get in the mind set and help come up with some character ideas.

Awesome artist

dragonflybunny does amazing work and if you love pottery you should definitely check her out. Her traditional work is amazing and I'm sure she'd love to have even more people commission her.And lo, the office move was almost complete.
Posted 11 years agoI'll be in the new office by the end of this week, have been busting my ass cleaning up and preparing the space. I'm thinking of making a more "serious" reference of my ghostsona since my regular one is a bit... silly. Honestly I find that having the simpler image is more fun, leaves more to the imagination depending on what one thinks a ghost should look like.
My hedgehog is perturbed by the amount of times I've had to move her around temporarily, but she'll live.

Soon™
Posted 11 years agoBack from vacation! Now I'm just procrastinating on the office re-org and the move. That's happening on the 17th (ish....) so when all is said and done I'll try to have something up. If anyone wants to make a request for my return art piece feel free to add a comment.
No new art til the new year
Posted 11 years agoThe holidays are sneaking up too quickly, that and a bit of a chaotic time at the house as things get moved and reorganized and people move in means that I'm running around like some sort of headless chicken. A sexy headless chicken.
Hopefully the new office will lead to me being a bit more productive, hopefully I'll have more time to do things and be productive once I'm not living at two different places at a time. Thinking of taking a slight shift in the general content of my art once I start it back up, just to explore a few areas. I'd go into detail as to what those plans are, but I'd rather know that I'm actually going ahead with those plans first, and right now I don't know anything.

Art Auction!

If you've got a character that's ever wanted to play with a ghost puppy go help out the artists and feed my ego a teensy bit :D (yeah, anyone bidding is probably more into their art than my character but I get to pretend ;3 )

The lack of new art
Posted 11 years agoMy current workspace is a mess and things have been crazy for quite some time actually. I've been continuing my regular stalking of the people I follow but haven't been as chatty as I would like. I'm probably going to still be a bit busy honestly as my mate is moving in with me and things have to get arranged (including my work space). So that's going to be in shambles, I've got vacations to plan, his parents to visit, but I'm going to -try- to get my desk set up in the new office within the next couple of weeks and make it easy to draw at to boot. So, hopefully I can get back to drawing soon, no promises.
In other news, fall and winter are my favorite times of the year so I've got that going for me :D And I won a joke contest *flex* Can't wait to see what
bbsdrawings does for the prize :D

Posted 11 years agoAnyone happen to know an artist that paints? As in oil or acrylic, physical paintings I can put up over my mantle? Hit me up if you know of someone.
Sick as a ghost dog
Posted 11 years agoUgh. I thought it was just allergies but no. It's turned into a full blown series of coughing fits, sore throat, headache, and general craptasticness.
It's just been a slow season it seems.
Posted 11 years agoI notice I'm not the only one to hit a dry patch creatively (at least among my friends and such). I've decided to try working in a different format for a bit to see if that helps. At the very least I'll try to have something up asap.
Brains
Posted 11 years agoPart of me has felt quite uninspired lately, but I suspect that mostly has to do with how busy I have been with a lot of random side projects. I know my original goal was to draw something smutty once a day, but I haven't been able to keep up lately. I actually passed out at my desk the other night. I have been at least keeping up with doodles in the meantime, working on overall anatomy. I should probably work on facial expressions too. I'll try to clean up one of the doodles at least and get something submitted soon.
Visitors
Posted 11 years agoI know I said that I'd do a drawing a day (on weekdays), but I won't be able to make the Friday pic. The boyfriend has guests over and there will probably be adventures. I'll return on Monday with stuff and things! See you then :)
Muffins
Posted 11 years agoI love muffins. That is all.
The Daily Grind
Posted 11 years agoI've decided I'm going to draw at least 1 smutty pose a day until I reach a level which I consider to be good. My problem with drawing has always been removing distractions and keeping myself focused, and so far the subject matter seems to be helping a little. Not necessarily because I'm a total perv, but because it's something I've never drawn before. Figuring out the poses, the facial expressions (yes... I'm so very good at those >.>;) it's a bit of a challenge, and hopefully one day I'll be able to transfer the anatomy into other dynamic poses.
That said, if there's anything you would want to see let me know. I make no promises, but I might go ahead and do it for lack of any other inspiration when choosing my next pose to do.
