i know art has been very sparse for months and i apologize
been having a rough time getting back into even enjoying art but i feel like im getting back in the groove
i also think that my anti depressants have been interfering w my mood as far as motivation and drive goes; i admittedly stopped taking them for a full 2 weeks and suddenly i actually felt like drawing
last night i took one and ill continue to so i can see if theyre the problem but i noticed that ever since i started taking these 'newer' pills thats when my drive for art rly dropped
i will also be getting help from my dad for my medical card this month so i can finally have that
i called him asking him abt it he said some time this month but not sure exactly when but i rly cannot get it w/o his help (its stupid expensive here)
sooo ya tbh once i have that ill feel pretty relieved
i also need to sign up for access bc i no longer have insurance
and thats abt the only thing i can get bc i dont make enough to afford better insurance
i cant even put anything lower than $20k for salary when trying to find any its complete bullshit
and every place i look at into it is all "all u need to pay is $100/mo :)))" as if someone like me can afford that on top of everything else i need to pay for lmfaooo
im hoping that this yr will be better for me
im honestly so tired of seeing ppl get what they want and being able to reach their goals and just bragging abt it to me while they know how shit things are for me
like i get no support from ppl besides a select few and these others expect me to give them undying support and ignore my own fucked up life and tell them how Cool and Neat it is that theyre lucky enough to have such a nice life
its shitty yk... these ppl were never there for me -- never asked me how i am or if im doing ok (i rarely ever am)
they never asked me if i needed help or if i needed a shoulder to cry on
i feel like im just getting more and more cynical but i cant help it
must be super great to have the privilege of being able to even afford the things i will probably never be able to
and it must be great to have supportive parents who arent homophobic or anything and not have to fear them never talking to u ever again if u so happen to tell them who u rly are

General | Posted 10 years agosooo ive still been doing uber bc times are kinda tough for me and my gf but im hoping that in a week or so things will be sorta back to normal
currently - like i said in the last journal - im taking on more than commissions that have equal priority (patreon and a personal project that means a lot to me) so its not as if ALL im doing is uber but its what im putting the most time into due to financial struggles
right now were trying to figure out the best option car-wise
the $3200 quote my mom gave me to buy this car off her is $1000 more than its actually worth according to kbb
and since its october already i have to make a decision before the 15th whether to keep the car and buy it off of her (maybe attempt to pay the actual price and not over) or give it back and buy a new car some time in the future
but if i choose the latter ill have no car therefor no way to work besides commissions and patreon and it also means not providing a ride to and from work for my gf
and i fear itll put me back in the place that i was when i first got kicked out and ill end up feeling more useless than i already do
ive tried explaining this to friends and family but no one seems to understand that having a car is about the only thing i am good for in my eyes
w/o a car i have no "real job" and w/o a car im not reliable or even feel as tho im the tiniest bit functional or worthy of calling myself an adult regardless of my age
so ppl view not having a car as a slight inconvenience but for me its all i have and im honestly scared to lose this only redeeming quality (in my eyes) of myself
its just making me incredibly stressed and i think ive been feeling sick again bc of all of this and its the reason why i have so many sleepless nights or nights where i feel hopeless and like nothing is going to improve
having to focus solely on uber is killing me emotionally and physically
and i know that maybe ppl think uber isnt a hard job but trust me it rly gets to u after a while if all u do all day is either draw or drive
essentially im stuck inside all day and all night and it hasnt been great

may need to buy this car from my mom to continue using it but its abt $3200 to buy and pay off what she still has left on the payments for it

update 9/9, sabotencon
General | Posted 10 years agoremember how i said i would post a journal when it was near sabotencon? well i had planned on it except they moved us and changed the entire artist alley layout
so not only did we not have a map that i could post on here and all other places i post my work (never received an email about the move from staff) but we were shoved in a corner severely affecting our sales and that was not the only thing that affected them
we were across from two other tables; 1 was the kazha table and the other was a bjd company
the singer for kazha and some hot topic motherfucker completely blocked the last aisle for over 2 hours - nobody could get through and the photographers were setting their cameras and drinks on our table
and then the bjd company was handing out flyers right in front of our table as soon as ppl looked at our prints even going so far as to tap potential customers on the shoulder checking out my stuff
ofc when u harass ppl w flyers they leave immediately... this woman was so fuckin pushy it was unreal
she was stopping ppl dead in their tracks to hand them a flyer
so ya even when we complained to staff they did nothing about either of these situations
not only that but throughout con save for the last day the lights would turn off and on constantly and by the last day almost all lights were off in our aisle and customers even commented on how its so hard to see my prints bc there were no lights
and after all this my friend and i are probably not going to be tabling at this con again
if u were lucky to get a good spot thats great but a lot of us lost a huge amount of business due to how they set up the aa and blocked more than half of it from view
its very clear that the staff does not care about artists and as someone who tries to take myself and my business seriously im not going to let this shit slide

i had 3 slots free but they filled up quickly so now i am back to only 1 slot free at the moment
i will update my page as much as possible so pls keep checking back for any changes
some time later today ill probably stream live some commissions i need to work on so if u are commissioning me and would like to watch me do ur commission let me know
i would also like to thank the many users who have favorited commented and watched me tonight/this morning
i realized that i should post more to this gallery so if u already follow me i apologize for any submission spam (i did however make sure i uploaded in intervals)
and i keep getting comments abt the earthbound comic i was working on back in 08-09 and not just on here but on well... any site i post my work haha..
and so ive decided i want to reboot it and collaborate w a writer but havent found one as of yet
the reason it is taking so long is that i need to find a writer that knows all the games inside and out so that we miss no details or small plot points that can be traced back to porkys own story and the story of giygas and their army
on top of this even if i could find a writer at this moment it would need to wait as im busy w work artist alley stuff patreon and commissions
im a busy chimera and even after all of these things are finished and life slows down im going to be starting some original comics but these projects are short stories and not on-running series so the earthbound comic will be a thing again in the near future

the rent situation is a long story but basically i might get kicked out by january and i do have a place i can go to but im more comfortable paying rent paying for my own food and paying for part of the internet bill since ill be using the internet the most
