What is the best way to charge? By the image type or by the hour..? What do y'all recommend? Are there any pieces in my gallery I should consider for references for commissions that y'all might be interested in, or just suggestions in general?

Trying to Art, but Pain is..pain
Posted 11 months ago It sounds like a goth post. But here's the thing, I'll do a run down.
- Crack tooth on popcorn in March. Do nothing about it, because let's be honest. Don't wanna, dentists are dumb.
- June, pain gets really bad. See dentist. They say "root canal" because cavity , turns out just need a filling. Get filling. Don't take insurance. Six hundred plus spent.
- Filling too close to nerve. Shit hurts.
- See another dentist, they take my insurance.
- They say 'okay, root canal it is...' and insurance says 'yes, we will pay'. Yay.
- Guy who can do the back tooth root canal only comes in 2 times a month. Can't get it done until the 22nd of November.
So I've been in pain ( my own fault, yes, I know ) for 8 months, going to go into 9 months. So trying to work on anything is hard because as soon as I get into it, the pain kicks in. Sometimes I wake up twice a night in pain. But I AM doing art. I am drawing. I just haven't been uploading like I want but I hope that changes soon. /sigh.
Life is hard, and sometimes I feel like insurance is a joke.
Especially when these places are in my network but you call them up and they say "yeah, no, we don't take that anymore."
WHAT DO YOU MEAN??? But yeah insurance will do it at the other place so not a total loss. Just..gotta suck it up for awhile longer.

Posted a year ago Long story short I've been drawing to keep my mind off of things but nothing finished to post yet, but I go in on Monday for a biopsy on an unknown mass in my breast.
Fingers and prayers it's not the big C word because my mama had the big C word and I'd really rather not.
I said this year ( to myself ) I'd be better with art, but lol my body is like "yeah...no....yeah.....but no." it's fine though. Everything is fine. It's on fire, but it's fine. But seriously, fingers crossed. Please :(

Health Update
Posted 2 years ago Saw a cardiologist today and a cat scan is in my future along with a heart monitor again but this time for longer than a day. I can work out ( encouraged even so that's good ) and I can go on ADHD medication so things are probably going to change. I don't know how much or if at all, but maybe I'll be able to actually focus and finish something art wise rather than jumping from paper to program to ipad. I'm curious to what may or may not change once I get that in check.
But my heart is still wonky, but we are trying to get down to the details of what might be happening, I just know it happened over covid so the cardiologist said he wouldn't be surprised if covid is now causing something to misfire.
I have been working on art I just haven't been posting as much. I have WIPs galore, but finished products? Lol...no...no.
Trying to do my hand at a YCH with one of my male characters ... we'll see how that goes. Um...

ADHD & Art stuff & Other updates
Posted 2 years ago Basically the rundown is I've been diagnosed with ADHD, but I can't actually be treated for it yet because covid fucked up my heart. And we are trying to figure out exactly how it fucked up my heart before putting me on stimulants for the ADHD. I have an echo scheduled for the end of the month but I've already had an EKG ( cleared ) and I wore a heart monitor for 24 hours. I go back to see a new doctor next week after my other doctor was let go due to not really being on the ball about things. ( Long story, but queue the wah-wah waaaaah noise )
So that's what's going on right now. I do have some pieces I wanna try and get done to upload at some point if my perfectionist ass can stop deleting the line art and coloring. Yeah, it's a bad habit. I'd like to think I'm getting better, but I won't lie. I can't lie. These hips don't lie.
I've got jokes.
Anyway, that's that.

Medical Health Update !!
Posted 2 years ago Well, seeing the neurologist was a HUGE waste of time because she really didn't give a shit at all. I went in for ear/head pain and she said 'I don't want to talk about your ear, just your head' which I guess I get, she's a Neurologist and she still gave me nothing. No help other than meds that uh...may cause a headache ... ? Yeah, because that makes sense. She also spent over an hour going on tangents about random shit that didn't matter, like how jet-lag works and some poor guy who almost lost his leg after a war. Yeah, I dunno, I think she liked hearing herself talk.
Then I go to another doctor (I see again next week to see how I'm doing ) who diagnosed me with TMJ and an increased pulse rate which along with the ear pain could cause the headaches. Go figure! She put me on meds that are helping a lot with pain and my pulse ( which I may need to go up on, we'll see. ) and I should eventually see a dentist for a mouth guard because I am a clencher/grinder. Oh, and unlike the Neuro, this doctor actually cared about my past medical issues and what not. Like, she's really getting me on track to be healthy-ish again. So Kudos to her.
I'm getting better, we're getting there. Which is good. Which I do hope means more art in the future. I know, I'm slacking. Posted 2 years ago Someone cancelled so I will see the neurologist tomorrow morning. We're getting closer to figuring out what the fuck is wrong with my head and my ear and if the two are connected and what to do about it.
Maybe then I can almost function normally!

Posted 2 years ago Hah, no, I know it looks by the title I caught it again, but this is an update to the previous in a sense.
So, because of covid I started having some serious pain in my head and ear. Turns out I may have a condition where a blood vessel and a nerve are probably rubbing each other and causing each other to be worn down. I could write the condition called Left Trigeminal Neuralgia, which Trigeminal neuralgia is a condition characterized by pain coming from the trigeminal nerve, which starts near the top of the ear and splits in three, toward the eye, cheek and jaw. It's a condition that can cause denigration of the nerve if not treated.
Well, I do have an appointment with Neurology ... At the end of June. Unless someone cancels. Then sooner, but so far no call about that. With this, my left ear throbs, my head throbs. it all around just fucking sucks. Which does make it hard to work on anything. However, I am. I have dived into CSP season 2 and I've played with this. But I gotta take breaks, scream internally, and what not.
I am also going in for ADHD testing at the end of July so that's something else to look forward to. I promise one day I'll be better. It may not be today, it may not be tomorrow. But...some year? Hopefully? Maybe not.
But I'll upload a thing or two. To show I'm still breathin'.

Posted 5 years ago I cannot for the life of me find a coloring style I actually like digitally which is why I haven't posted ish lately. Ug, so frustrated with art, but still sketching. So I may end up using the scraps a lot more lately until I figure out what it is I can do to make me like my coloring abilities again. Sigh.
