Cancer Research Fundraiser!

I know I don't get a lot of traction in my journals but I'm posting here anyway in hopes to gain at least a little attention.
I did a fundraiser last year to benefit cancer research and I'm doing so again this year. This year is a little different though as we lost my father last September to cancer. I'm doing it in his name this year.
If you can spare a $1 or 2 to donate to my fundraiser I would be very thankful! And even if you can't, a share or a bump would be super appreciated.
I've already hit the goal, but it doesn't end till the 17th (my birthday) and I'd like to give the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as much as I can. They did so much for my family and I through our ordeal that I can't really think of a much better place to raise money for.

For those who don't know, my father has been battling cancer for the past 10 years. First it was Leukemia and now it has transformed into Non-hodgkins Lymphoma. I've lost my maternal grandparents to cancer. My paternal grandfather and paternal great uncle to cancer. I have a friend who's survived and another who's battling breast cancer as I type this. I know donations won't help those who are fighting right now. But it really does make a difference to those families that will be fighting this in the future. The hope being that this money will lead to a cure.

General | Posted 10 years agoThanks for all the well wishes for those of you who commented on my last journal. I appreciate it. As for the update, $200 later and I have a new tire! .... And an old one with a bubble in the sidewall.... So I need ANOTHER new tire... When it rains it pours.

1) Spent all day at PAX-E. Good spot of the day. Got the last of the expansion packs of Cards Against Humanity.
2) Had to spend $300 on a wheelchair for my roommate because of his leg so that he could go to PAX-E with us. I know, I didn't have to. But that's not me. The guy has a disability and can't work. Can't get out to do anything at all cause of it. Disability insurance has yet to approve his claim. He had to miss last year cause of his leg. He has a clotting disorder so gets blood clots very very easily. It's turned his left leg into hamburger.
3) Spent 4 hours in the ER last night (9 - 12) only to have to leave my room mate there while they gave him some super antibiotics which was going to take a few hours. I was exhausted from pushing him around in a wheelchair at PAX-E all day. Came back to pick him up around 4AM. I got an hours sleep between getting home and going back.
4) On the way home, hit a pot hole on Lynn's shitty ass streets. Blew out a $140 tire.
5) Call Sears to get new tire. They have in stock (yay) but it's a 5 hours wait today. WTF! Will have to drive on a donut till tomorrow...
6) Get upstairs after changing out my tire for the donut. Other room mates dog took a massive shit on our only bath mat. I want to throw him out our second story window. Trust me, he deserves it.
I'm tired and I don't wanna anymore.

I bought some tasty Eggo waffles last night to make for breakfast this AM. Spent all night looking forward to waffles. Got up and went outside to move a friends car and blow some snow thinking about tasty waffles. Get upstairs, get a shower... thinking about tasty waffles. Finally get to make my tasty waffles. And what does my clumsy ass do? Put plate on desk > Start to cut waffles with fork (mmmm waffles...) > plate slips right off the desk onto the floor with all my tasty waffle goodness along with it. Now I has a sad and a sticky mess everywhere.

General | Posted 11 years agoAnother level today. One more till I hit the 30s. Time sure does feel like its flying by these days. Eat, sleep, work, see friends and family. Before you know it its been a few months and 6 months ago feels like yesterday. Its so weird!
