I know it's funny to laugh about "Haha, I'm drawing so much that I'm giving myself tendinitis in my hand," but... I literally am pushing it ^^;

I've already taken a number of steps for the last few weeks, but I need to really rest it and try to resist drawing for a while (believe me, just because I don't post anything new for a while, doesn't mean I'm not constantly drawing, or doing something, on my laptop ^^; )

Anyway, I'll still be around, but I'm postponing a couple of "Within" updates

my political opinion is this: I think you all watch me for my art, not my opinion. So, I'm gonna draw some ponies ^^
Anyway, that new charger finally came in the mail, and I found myself wondering why I didn't just go to a store and buy one much sooner... no idea.

So, I stepped on a certain part of my laptop charger, and now it seems like there's a broken/semi-broken wire preventing it from working properly.
It's making sparky noises when it moves, and isn't charging the laptop unless I get it adjusted into just the right position. Anyway, I've already ordered a new one, but it won't be here for a few days. Ordinarily, I wouldn't make a big deal about this, but since I'm currently working on stuff for several people, I figured I should at least post up a journal, in case anyone was wondering why I suddenly went inactive.

Alright, today is the day that the contest ends, and since there were very few entries, I can announce the winners immediately ^^

For a little context, the main theme of the contest was to draw at least one of my OCs, with any of the artist's OCs (if they wanted to add theirs) enjoying some Nightmare Night/Halloween/Harvest season activities. The one catch was that they could not dress up my characters in a costume.

Historically, I don't do holiday-themed things often, but this feels like it's going to be quite fun :XD:

So, the contest begins today, and ends on October 28th, so that I can review the entries, and announce the winners on Halloween! ^^
Everyone can submit two entries.

Obviously the theme is "Nightmare Night/Halloween Season" but there is a slight twist. All entries should feature at least one of my OCs (from the list provided in this journal) and you can either draw them solo, with another of my OCs, or any of your own OCs, enjoying the holiday. Now, here's the twist: You can't dress my characters up in a costume (more information coming, just keep reading, darling :XD: ) You can draw your own characters in costumes, or mine looking at/shopping for costumes. "But Myth, that kind of limits what we can draw, doesn't it?" Well, personally, there are a plethora of Halloween/fall activities that I enjoy that would all make good entries. Decorating, making homemade treats, watching scary movies with friends, and since its Harvest season, there's also a lot of people making baked goods with all the fruits and vegetables from their own gardens. There are lots of hay bales in the field to hide around and scare your friends (if you can sneak into someone's field anyway :XD: ) not to mention corn mazes. Plus, my hometown does the same thing that we've seen in Ponyville. They pick an area to set up themed games, food, and other activities for the community to enjoy. Any of these things would make for a great entry ^^

I'm in that place between wanting to host a contest... and not knowing what to make it about.
I don't want to do any "design a nextgen of my characters" contest for a plethora of reasons. Honestly, I'm not always a fan of "fanart" contests, but that would be an easy theme, and I'm sure I would love seeing the entries. I've had a couple of other ideas, but they seem rather complicated to briefly explain, or to be very fun.

I dunno, if anyone has some ideas, feel free to comment

I asked a while back which stories people would want to see most, but never got any feedback on the matter. So, just making this journal as a page just to keep track of these brief story summaries. (The titles will be linked to their respective stories when they are posted online. Right now, only "Within" is available.)

Within: Dreamweaver, a rather anti-social pony from a small town, has an unusual talisman called the "Dream Pen" which allows her to enter a pocket reality that other ponies call "The Bubble." While inside the Bubble, anything she imagines seems as real as life, but outside of it, she's just seen as the oddball of her hometown. After her family decides it's best she takes a "magical safety class" in Canterlot, "just in case," she is offered exclusive acceptance into a class full of other ponies with... uncommon magical abilities.

Daybreak: A centuries-old war has changed the face of Equestria, but it looks like it is coming to a close. If only life were that simple. Black Glitter struggles to deal with feeling abandoned while a ferocious enemy makes a final stab at the ponies of Equestria.

Midwinter: Several millennia after "Friendship is Magic" a global winter covers over half of the planet. Dragons and Griffins control the "warm lands" and ponies have adapted to life in the expansive tundra. Follow Lovebird, an arctic pegasus, and see how simple tasks become deadly when the world is covered in an endless winter.

Equinox: There is little in Equestria that matches Princess Celestia and Princess Luna in strength, beauty, and compassion. However, these god-like rulers are capable of so much more. When a tiny foal is found on the castle grounds, the princesses undertake a duty that may be more important than any other they have faced before: raising a prince.

Royal Affairs: Summits, dignitaries, ambassadors, trade sanctions, and frequent threats to Equestria aren't the half of it. Equestria's ruling class seem to live a blessed life, but under it all, they are just like everypony else. Even those who live in a castle can make mistakes, especially when dealing with royal affairs. I'm thinking of just rolling this storyline into "Equinox"

Pony Play: This is a game of adventure, riddles, and reasoning. Choose your character and explore Equestria! You can build a fortune, see exotic lands, meet new friends, or be a high flier because the sky is no longer the limit! However, be aware of what's happening around you, for not everything is a game. Some things happen that cannot be stopped, and every Pony has their part to Play. This is a watcher-decided, feedback-driven "game" played through commenting on a sequence of illustrations. A small selection of "playable characters" and places will be available at the beginning, and more decisions and feedback will unlock new places, ponies, and possibilities! However, there will be some events that watchers/players will not be able to avoid and will have to be played through, which means there is a chance of losing the game. (Fair Warning: This project will take the most time to set up) I'm thinking of scrapping this idea... I don't think the current Equestria is the kind of society that I want to base this kind of game in.

So, I suddenly got curious about how many ponies I've designed, so I started pulling together absolutely all of my illustrations of OCs. After a little while, I decided to make a game out of this:

Side note: counting the OCs in any of my accounts will not help, because I don't post the vast majority of my pony designs for various reasons. For example: they either play very small parts, and likely have no backstory, or they play large parts in their respective stories, and I don't want to spoil them ^^;





Hint: I don't even know the winning number at the time of writing this, but I do know that it will be a three-digit number

While going through my files, I made up a list of characters that need new/full reference sheets...but for the most part, the art flood is now over, and submissions should be spaced out normally from now on.

Although, considering that I am now condensing several panels of Within into a typical comic page, instead of uploading individual panels (as I did on my old account) I suppose one could say that the uploads will technically be less than usual. But hey, it should be more worth waiting for now XD
