Volunteer (vore-lunteer?) adventurers to feed an orcasnake?
Posted 2 weeks agoLooking for one male or transmasc adventurer to get constricted and eaten by an orcasnake in an art comm. I’m paying for it, I just want some variety in my diet and I’m looking for sturdy adventurers to meet their fate in serpentine clutches. You will be joining another doomed adventurer in this futile struggle and will be sharing a belly with him.
Preference is for guys on the beefier/musclegut side but I’ll take a look at all of them. Prefer folks without wings, just because they go down easier.
Expect your fate to be similar to this:

Respond below with the character you’d like to see eaten (you must own this character) and I’ll take a look. Will choose by Oct. 13.

Discord Contacts
Posted a year agoHi all,
I got spammed with a crazy number of discord contacts after the last post, so I ended up ignoring a few that might have been real people. If this was you, feel free to re-try and send me a note here so I’ll know who it is.
Cheers,
-nalkhan

Update and Commissions
Posted 3 years agoLast journal is old enough to attend grade school so it’s time to replace it!
Been updating commissions to give the orca some character beyond “hungry”, though he’s definitely still eating gents on the regular.
I doubt anyone is following this account for fantasy shenanigans, but on the off chance you are, drop me a line if you want to go adventuring with orca or wolverine. And of course, orca/orcasnake food is also always welcome :)

An additional move!

Moved! (IRL)
Posted 13 years agoGood bye Texas, I've moved up to Michigan for my Postdoc. Good thing I bought a coat!
Doctorate Get
Posted 13 years agoWay to get that old journal off of here. Anyhoo, finished that last paperwork to complete my doctoral degree, so now the Dr. part of Dr. Nalkhan is official. I now have the certification to be a proper mad scientist, as soon as I go mad. How very exciting, right?
Nearly free rendering software
Posted 14 years agoSo, Messiah Studios is having a pretty huge sale on their rendering software. Don't know how many people who read this render much, but they are selling their $500 software package for $10, and the $1200 one for $40, so that puts it right in the middle of impulse buy territory (at least for me). They are selling it at that price until a certain number of folks buy it, or if they don't, they refund everyone. I have no idea if this is a good set of software or not, but it'd be nice to try anyway.

It has joined the Choir Invisible! It is an Ex-PC!
Posted 15 years agoSo long Weatherwax, we hardly knew ye. My trusty Pratchett inspired PC has kicked the bucket. Her imposing presence shall no longer intimidate the smaller, more mobile presences on the home network. Quite sad she is gone, but I'll just have to move on to the next name in the imposing figures list. I've already had a Vetinari, a Ridcully, and a Weatherwax...I think I shall christen the next PC Vimes, or perhaps Ronnie. In any case, my presence shall be intermittent, as I am restricted to my laptop, which I usually forget to plug in.
AIM = toast
Posted 15 years agoAs the heading implies, my AIM decided to eat itself this morning, with no warning whatsoever. I've recovered most of the folks on it from logs, but if we haven't chatted in the last month or so you probably didn't make it. Such a hiatus probably means you weren't interested in chatting anyway, hehe, but if you think you might have gotten the axe by mistake, please send an IM so I can add you back :p
Prelims = complete!
Posted 16 years agoSo I finished my preliminary exams a few weeks ago. Absolutely hellacious, I might add; definitely the single scariest test I've ever had. And there were 5 of them. But anyway they are all done now, all my committee members are convinced I know enough to become an official candidate for my degree now, and I can get on with my research. I could get a class ring at this point as well, but for $700 I could get a whole lot of stuff that'd be a lot more fun, so I think I'll hold off on it until I graduate, whenever that is. I do get higher priority when I sign up for a parking permit, which is pretty nice.
Also, I royally suck at chemical structures, as it turns out. Even my boss noticed >.< Hopefully I'll have some shiny histological slides next week to make things better.
Anyone else have fun things going on?

My very first 4.0
Posted 17 years agoDidn't manage to get one all the way through my undergrad career, and now I get one my last semester of classes...where it matters for absolutely nothing XD At least it gives me something to brag about, and also something to get rid of that old journal, though I'm afraid it's not been replaced with anything interesting. Maybe there will be something worthwhile after prelims.
PhD FTW
Posted 18 years agoWell, classes are out for the year! I managed to squeak myself through the first year of graduate school with a 3.7 GPA...which is way higher than I ever managed as an undergraduate. Yay grade inflation! Also the big research project at the end of the year went over quite nicely, and I got myself into a full time lab, so I'm officially in the PhD program now ^^ Once the preliminary exams are finished next year, it'll be just research until I'm finished...in 2012 or so. Not the most interesting journal, I'm sure, but having the same one on there for a year was a little distracting.
Yet More Grad School
Posted 19 years agoWell, I finally got all moved down to Texas for graduate school...the weather is terrible (I prefer a temperate climate) but the research is great! Started working in lab last week, and I've already got my first PCR results back...very promising they are :D It looks to be a fruitful, if somewhat smelly (BME RNA extractor is stinky) summer! I'll try and get some photos of my lab work, since I know everyone is dying to see it XD
Uploads
Posted 19 years agoHello to all you folks who are bored enough to read this :D Haven't had anything to post recently - sorry about that. It's too ugly here to photo just yet, so that will have to wait until April :P
What I am gonna try and do is drag up some of my old stories and post them on here...might take me a while, as they are archived on a CD somewhere in all my packed boxes. If I remember right there are three that are almost readable - two vore stories and a generic M/M yiff.
Don't everyone clap at once, now :p I should have them up in a few days at the outside

That's Dr. Nalkhan
Posted 19 years agoI got in to graduate school! ^^ I know, it's pretty nuts that I'd be cheering because I get to stay in school for the next 6 years, but I'm really looking forward to it anyway :p I was accepted into 3 PhD programs as of this journal date, and I get to fly out and visit them startign next week. If nothing else, it was worth applying just to get flown all over the country and to eat at someone else's expense :D
I didn't drink the water!
Posted 19 years agoWell, I just got home from my vacation in Mexico - can't say it was eventful, but it was a million times better than hanging around here! For those of you who don't keep close tabs on my travels (Shame shame :P) my itinerary consisted of five days in Barra de Navidad and one in Puerto Vallarta. Of the two I much preferred Barra - i don't really do the party thing, and Puerto Vallarta was entirely too noisy for my tastes.
I managed to fill two and a half compact flash cards with photos - as usual, most of them are junk, but I managed to find a few decent ones that won't get me booed out of the gallery :P If you find sunsets monotonous you might want to just clear them from the new submissions window, but I think a few of them are actually pretty good.
And now - the pictures!

New Camera!
Posted 20 years agoMy new camera just came in on 12/30, and I'm ever so excited to start using it! There will probably be a delay whilst I gets used to it (it's an SLR and all my previous experience is with point and shoots) but after that I'm sure I'll be posting inordinate amounts of stuff. So stay tuned :D
Wowzers
Posted 20 years agoHoly cow that's a lot of watches! And I haven't even posted hardly anything yet! Well, the next couple of months might be kinda slim on the postings, heh, but I promise to get some new stuff up before Christmas. Well, I say new, but it'll probably mostly be stuff from my old account...and it's more of that boring photography stuff. On the plus side there should be a good post for all you lovely folks who are waiting for the inevitable yiff...no ETA as yet, but it's coming :P
