Updates
Posted 10 years agoI want everyone to remember, I am a mother by day, artist by night. My schedule does not permit me to draw, or be on my computer until at least 8pm and then I draw until about 11pm or so. Hence why art can be slow. I am also a secretary and tech support for my family. A phone or tablet breaks or goes wonky, I spend my time fixing it. Sometimes its an easy just restart the object in question and everything is fixed. Othertimes its spending all day with the object connected to the computer to try and figure out what is wrong so I can fix it. As a secretary to my family, since my father in law is dealing with lawyers and the DA office and state officials, it is my job to type up several pages of letters, fill out forms for him, gather information, look up names, and other various tasks that can take up my time during the day. Other times, he comes over and uses my computer all day, like today.
But please do not worry. I am still taking a sketchbook and sketching everything out and hopefully soon I will be able to post something. I have moved on to the chibis and will be finishing those sketches up soon and posting them before I put color to them. So please do not fret. And as a good side note, a good friend of mine gave me an old tablet that he had, which has a cracked screen that I will be able to fix, so I will have something that I can use to sketch on the go or when I am laying in bed at night which is nice. I tried sketching on my phone and that is a little difficult for me on such a little screen. So I am looking forward to getting it fixed and having it as my night-time sketch pad.
On a side note, I start up my third semester at college on the 24th. Yay, more medical coding homework -_-
After this degree, I am going after some kind of tech degree since I am so much better at computers than medical coding. Only problem is when I go for my tech degree, I will need a math tutor since its a 2 year associates that I am going after, there are math classes that I will have to take and I am no good at math......like...at all..... >__<
I can handle algebra ok, but when it comes to pre-cal, I will be more lost than a penguin in the desert.

Good News...Yay!!
Posted 10 years agoGood News! Yay!
Anyways, I called my family that is taking care of my great grandmother and they said that she is doing better. They are still giving her fluids intravenously, but she is starting to eat again. They are attributing the change due to the stroke that she had a few months back, but all in all she is doing a little better. Granted, that could change, but I am trying to keep a positive outlook on this situation, and she will still be alive when we take our planned trip in October to go see her so she can meet her great great grand baby before she passes. So WOOHOO!
And now that she is doing better, I will be getting back to doing the raffle prizes in between commissions and what not, so yay! I will start with finishing the icons, then I will be moving on to sketches. I am basically going from quickest, to what will take me the longest. But you can look forward to seeing the raffle prizes show in in your feed!
Have a wonderful week!

Bad News
Posted 10 years agoI am crying as I type this, so bear with my grammatical mistakes,
I have just found out that my great grandmother (who is in her late 90's) is not doing well at all. Granted she has been bedridden for the last several years, but she still had life in her eyes and was still shoving $20 dollar bills in our pockets when no one was looking like she had since as far back as I can remember. I love my great grandmother so much, although she never could speak very good english and spoke mostly french, I could understand most of what she said in french thanks to many long years of my grandmother and my mom translating what she said. Any time we went to her house she had sodas and treats waiting for me my brother and sister. It was hard enough when my great grandfather (her husband) passed away when I was 10. She carried on with playing checkers with us like he did and was the best great grandmother anyone could be at her age. Even at her age now she is the best great grandmother ever. But today I have found out that she is no longer eating anything or drinking anything and is being given fluids intravenously just so her kidneys do not fail. So all in all we have no idea how much longer she will be with us. I have to be ready at a moments notice to leave and take the almost 7 hour trip when she passes. We were not planning to make this trip until october for my sons birthday, so that we had the money saved up from what was left over of my school funds. But it looks like we are going to have to take the trip sooner than expected.
So those of you that won the raffle, I will have to put your art on hold for a little while so I can focus on commissions to get the money to go to her and get the extra items needed that we need to take with us.
If any of you that know someone that needs a commission done, send them to me please. I need all in all about $300 + to make this trip. And an extra $50 - $100 for a play pen so my son has somewhere to sleep when we get there. I will be posting several YCH's within the week and even if you cannot bid, I ask you kindly to advertise them. Thank you in advance.
I am going to go curl up into a ball and go cry now.

Tips are appreciated, but not mandatory :3
BEGIN EDIT
To explain how you get entries:
Your main entry, or the one that gets you entered into the raffle, is the comment. Your second entry is you being a watcher. I posted in the rules that being a watcher is mandatory. It still is mandatory so that everyone that enters automatically has two entries into the raffles. The journal posts are extra entries, and is up to you whether or not you want to do them. So when I say you have three entries into the raffle, that means one entry is the comment, the second entry is being a watcher, and the third entry (or more) is from posting a journal about this raffle.
That is all :3
