Confuzzled was a blast!

I am properly home from the convention now; my stuff is all packed back away in the cupboard - that means its over.
I had a really great time, but man oh man it was stressful. Theres alot of pressure to socialise - lots of people you only get to meet once in a blue moon - but, incase you are unaware, I am terrible at this 8D
But hey ho, it was a financial success and I still met lots of cool people. I'll be doing it again for sure.
I still have lots of copies of my art book! They are £25 and if you don't mind paying for postage then I will happily send you a signed copy if you'd like to buy one :D

I've been running around like a headless chicken during the days its been uploading trying to get everything organized for Confuzzled! I have a new artbook for sale! :D It's a collection of a bunch of my commissions and personal (nsfw) artwork! 164 pages, A4, glued spine; the whole deal. I'm going to be selling it at Confuzzled, but if you don't mind paying for postage I could probobly send you one if you wanted to buy it as well ^^
I can't wait for the convention~ I'm going to be room sharing with farniro and staying with arrodynamic for the week leading up to the convention. Going to have a great time! :D

So, I have accidentally mislead people today. I uploaded my comic price list so I can use it at Confuzzled, but this has understandable been taken to mean I am now open for comic commissions. Sorry folks! Not yet :') I hate to disapoint people, though, so for the next couple of days I will take on some of these large commissions with the understanding you could be waiting a few months before they get started.
Some people have expressed interest in getting some Sticker Commissions done! I'm all about that. I'm not certain how much they are going to cost just yet though, so watch this space.

MegaVore is a Go! - NOW OPEN FOR COMMISSIONS!
Posted 8 years agoThe Enormous Comic commission, MegaVore, is finally complete - The first page will be up today :D
It was great to draw so many people in a single project - I had fun making it, even if it was a bit trying sometimes. I've learned a bunch about working on big projects for sure.
Now that i'ts finished I'm going to be taking on some small commissions before tackling anything large again. I'll be getting ready for Confuzzled, too ;D I'm working on putting together an Art Book with lots of my previous work in it ^^ Should look good!
OPEN FOR COMMISSION!
I will be open for SMALL commissions; that is to say, no comics or sequences. I'll start with ten slots and if I'm finished before the month is out I'll open some more. After that I'll be open again for big stuff!
Single images start at £30 + £20 per extra character. Full colour + Simple Background. More elaborate backgrounds can be aranged for extra; characters with extreamly high detail may cost extra also.

The First of the Shading is Rolling In~
Posted 8 years agoMy goodness! Everything is coloured finally. Last week was a bit of a mess for getting things done. The final page was a real doozy as well and it took up most of the time I could spend. But never the less, it got did. Now its shading and highlighting all the way! This should be satisfying - my drawings tend to start off ok, get steadily worse and worse and then finally look good again once the final shading is added.
I'm going to be trying to structure my time more effectivly this week. Should get much more done. Nothing disruptive is on the agenda this week so I should have more success.

Posted 8 years agoThe last of the linework took alot longer than anticipated, but its all done now ;D
The rest of my drawing time this week can be devoted to colouring.
The last of our car woes are finally dealt with too. After failing its MOT, having parts replaced and then having the car we borrowed in the meantime also break down, it has finally past its retest. Along with paying all the insurance bills that hit us at the same time, I should be able to sleep soundly for about another year.

In other news, I will shortly be becoming the sole bread winner of the house *.* This will be a true test of if I'm ready to go professional - if I can hold it together now, then once my partner is employed I can quit my crap job at the taxi office and do this full time :D Wish me luck!

Got my car fixed! Also, MegaVore Update
Posted 8 years agoHey eveyone! :D Our car is back in working order~ It ended up being way cheaper to fix than anticipated - less than half the cost it took to get it back from the towing company ¬.¬
The Wishbone on both wheels had rusted away and needed replacing. it should have come up on our previous MOT but hey ho.
As for the comic, I got a good amount of digital work done over the weekend but the sketching during the week wasn't so produtive. This week I hope to strike a balance with both ;D

More Productive Than Expected
Posted 8 years agoHey everyone! Last week, despite dealing with the car and being away from home most of the time, I managed to get a whole page sketched each day of the week! The long weekend was a little less productive because my work was very busy, giving me less time to work on digital things. Pages 11, 12, 15, 16 have been sketched and a few others were lined and partially coloured. Hopefully I can make this week productive as well (although I had a day off yesterday because god damn.).

Bad Week (And MegaVore Update)
Posted 9 years agoIt's been one hell of a week, let me tell you -.-
First of, I left my laptop at my sisters while I was visiting so I didn't have any of my stuff to work on the commission for three days until she got back from England. Then on Friday, while I was driving out to get it, the front left wheel assembly snapped off my car as I was driving down the road. Luckily I didn't loose control and skidded to a halt at the side of the road. The only thing injured is my bank ballance (and oh boy).
So last week was a write off as far as drawing goes. I got a few pages of digital lines done over the weekend but thats all. This week is set to be heavily disrupted by dealing with the car, but at least I have my sketchbook etc this time.

Progress has been pretty good so far! I'm averaging 3 pages sketched during the week and 3 lined at the weeked, with some colour pages here and there if I'm ahead.
If your listed as having some progress made on your slot that you havn't seen a WIP for, you can expect it tomorow ;D

Due to shenanigans at work, I'm not going to be able to stay for the whole of Saturday, though - No one could cover my shift :/
But hey, I'm going to make the best of it!
Commissions are closed for the time being while I finish what I've got infront of me~

Thanks for the consumer advice last journal, everyone who commented! :D It helped me narrow down what I should be looking for - in the end I got an intuos pro!

It's working out really well for me so far. For one thing, it's nice to have functioning buttons on the pen again. It's left a deep hole in my bank account though, so its back to work on commissions!

BAD NEWS, My Tablet Has BROKEN

I've had this tablet for almost a decade now. My trusty old Intuos 3. It was actually from an old friend who got me it so we could make a comic together - it was the first time I felt another person really 'belived in me' and my artwork. It's probobly the best gift anyone ever got me - I'll be thanking him to the end of my days.
But now it has finally kicked the bucket. The cable had been fraying for years, the top portion of it stopped working a long time ago, I'd lost most of the functionallity of the pen but it had always soldiered on. It seems to be cable troubles that finally finished it off.
So, now I have to buy a new one. Unfortunatly I dont know much about tablets and the Wacom website is a Mirror Maze of Bullshit.
Can anyone help me out? I want to get a new Wacom thats similar to the 15 inch intuos 3 I had. I got a monoprice for my girlfriend a while back not kowing it was a TRAP so I am sticking with Wacom this time around - I dont want to get a cintique, though: waaaay too expensive.
In short: HELP, CAN SOMEONE RECOMMEND A NEW WACOM TO ME SO I CAN BUY IT QUICKLY AND CONTINUE WORKING? D8

I've taken my next round of commissions since Confuzzled and its given me quite alot to be getting on with. Since anything new at this point could have a months waiting time I'm going to say commissions are closed until I've finished whats in front of me.
Thankyou so much everyone! This is very heartening!
I should be open again in about a month and a half ^^ Maybe sooner if I make good progress.
(Obviously if I'm still in the middle of negotiating your commission via notes then you are not going to be cut off :'))

Recovering

I had to take a few days to myself just now after the disasterous results of the EU referendum. Couldn't really face much for a while after that. But now I'm back to work :) As the country begins to landslide into the sea, we in Scotland shall run to the top of the collapsing tower and, before it disapears from under us, jump aboard the Death Egg (Indy Ref 2).

Internet troubles, but still making good progress!

I've had little access to the internet latly due to this and that reason, but none the less I have managed to get a good amount of work done on my commission queue :D I've averaged about one a day, even accounting for a three day holiday to Skye where I drew nothing. If my internet connection holds, you should start to see them being uploaded soon ^^
A few people have sent me notes that I havn't opened - I'm not ignoring you, I'm just waiting until a less hectic time to read them so I can proccess the information.
I hope your all doing well!

Confuzzled Was Awesome!
Posted 9 years agoHeya! :D I'm back in Scotland again - I had an amazing time at Confuzzled this year. Lots of fun, and the Dealers Den was nothing to be frightened of afteral ^^
I took lots of commissions and you shall begin seeing some of them pretty soon! :D
I met lots of new people and it was great seeing all of you! ^^ And for those who couldn't make it, maybe next time I shall see you too ;D I'll definatly be attending again.
I''m going to have a crack at an entry for the conbook cover competition if they have one again next year :D

I'm heading down to England tomorow to stay with my very good friend

The deadline for the auction will be extended from Friday, to Monday~

Settling in alright
Posted 9 years agoWe're getting on well in our new place! :D
The nice weather recently is really driving home how much better our new flat is than the old one. There is one problem though - our upstairs neighbour is deeply unpleasant~ They are continually accusing us of animal abuse, harrassing us, calling us scum and generally being agressive. We're reporting them to the police tomorow 8D
They are aparently notorious across the town for being an arsehole soooo~~
In better news, I'm going to be opening for commissions REAL SOON!
Before that I'm going to try a YCH auction for the first time :D I mean, I've done YCH before, but the auction bit will be new to me. (any tips are welcome)
