Hey everyone! Just wanted to give y'all a little update on owed commissions and commissions going forward.

So, new job has me tired. Waking up at 5am is not the best. I'm not a morning person lol. It'll only be like this for a little bit, at least until I get put on a different shift.

That being said, I will try to finish the commissions I have on my days off. I don't know how long that will take me because I will mostly be sleeping/trying to recuperate on my days off. But I will finish them.

I think after I have the commissions done, I will close for awhile until I feel I am at a more comfortable place to offer commissions/ychs again. If/when I do open again, they will be very limited. Like maybe 1 or 2. Turn around time will probably be longer.

I hope all yall's weeks are treating you well. I haven't been on here for about a week. When I made my last journal, I found out that my family dog had intestinal cancer... So we had to put him down and its been a really big strain on all of us. It's been really hard for all of us, especially since he would greet me every time I would come in the door or come lick my face as soon as I woke up. I have to keep telling myself that we did what was best for him, but its still hard y'know?

That being said, I probably wont be working on any commissions until the start of the new year. Christmas is really close and Ill be starting a new job around the 4th. So, I'll need some time to recuperate from all that and the death of my pet. If there is anyone who commissioned me and would like a refund, I totally understand. Please just send me a note if that is the case.

My heart goes out to anyone who has ever been in the position that I am in right now.

How has everyone been? Idk about y'all, but I've been extra tired as of late. This whole pandemic thing is really taking a toll on us all, I'm ready for it to end!

Anyways, I feel like as of late I've been really stagnant. Like I'm not improving and maybe I'm slightly getting worse? I'm not sure.

I have an idea in my head for my OC Sahri to be coupled with a shark. I want it to be something NSFW. Might be some size play going on, who knows ;P

Rather than just drawing a random shark character, I figured I'd give one of my watcher's a chance at some free art!

Hey y'all! I hope everything is treating you all well 😊

I haven't posted on here in a loooooooong time and I just wanted to let everyone know I'm still here, lurking in the shadows. I wanted to try and make art my main source of income and that didn't work out too well. I suppose if I would have just kept at it, I would have eventually gotten somewhere but I wasnt making enough money to make ends meet. I really didnt want to end up like a lot of artists who take too much work to try and make ends meet and thus get drowned by how much work they have to do.

So I got a job, lol. It's not what I want to do for the rest of my life but it's been allowing me and my fiance to start saving up for a home of our own. Now, this doesn't mean that I'm going to stop drawing. If I upload things now, it's going to exclusively be stuff I want to draw. Unless I really need the money, I most likely won't be opening commissions for a long time.

I will always be forever grateful for each and every one of my followers and regular commissioners for believing in me when I didn't believe in myself and for sticking around as long as y'all have. Thank you, from the very bottom of my heart for sticking with me all these years 💕

I don't usually share much of my personal life on here, but my fiance and I have run into some car trouble (the transmission kind) and we need help to get it fixed. Thankfully it's not the whole transmission, only a certain part, but it is still expensive (we've been quoted around $1356 by several shops). Hey everyone! I plan on getting into sculpting very soon, just need to buy some stuff first.

I am torn between some options; making furry figures, like the anime figures you see everywhere but furry characters, making ball-jointed furry dolls, or making bust like sculptures of furry characters. I don't see a lot of people making ball-jointed dolls within the community, at least not of other people's furry characters. So I thought that would be really interesting to do! For right now I just need opinions because I want to tailor what I do to what you guys want to see!

I think the figures might be the easiest for me to do, honestly, since I dont have any experience stringing a doll or really making the parts for one. I planned on printing doll parts and covering them with a thin amount of clay and kind of sculpting over the printed base, but the base itself would take around 3 days to print all the parts (I have a small printer). But maybe something like that would be worth it in the end? I do enjoy sculpting a lot, so it could be an interesting challenge for me. What do you guys think?

Hey everyone! How are you guys doing?

My last day of my senior year was yesterday, so I no longer have to worry about assignments, which is a huge relief for me! This being said, I wanna talk with you guys about something that is super prevalent in the art community.

And it is: Artist do not price their services high enough. I have/am doing this and I've seen millions of others do this as well. I think for me, I'm scared that people won't buy from me anymore because I'm a small artist. I'm not super well known in the community. Because of this I have all my work priced super low so that I get people to buy. As a result of this, I get burnt out really easily because I have to do a lot of art to make any kind of money. I also put a lot of effort into my work and get paid very little for it. If I looked at how long it takes for me to make something, I would be getting paid way less than federal minimum wage, and it's really sad. I know part of this is the time I take, but it is also a larger issue of me not pricing my work what I think it is actually worth.

I think it's really important for artists to price their work higher because most of us get paid next to nothing. Besides, art is a luxury and artists should be able to make decent money from their services, right?

Anyways! I am officially opening my commission again, but I am raising my prices! I will have a new sheet to reflect the changes soon. The people who have contacted me before today about doing a commission will receive my old commission prices, simply because I promised they would be first in line once I opened them back up.

Tell me what you guys think! Are there any artists that you like that you think should charge more than they do? Are there any other small artists that you really like? I'm looking to follow more small artists like me!

Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've been active on here. I officially have less than a week left of my senior year of college! I'm super excited ^^

Most of you dont know that my roots dont come from digital art. I've mostly been a painter/sculptor my whole life. My favorite medium is ceramics, something about it is really therapeutic to me. Since I've been in college I haven't had the means or space to really work with clay the way i would like to. I live in a dorm room that I have to share with another person, so there isn't much space. Since I'll be leaving soon, I was thinking about picking ceramics back up again! We had a guest speaker come to one of my classes and he's a famous sculptor from my state. It got me super excited to do sculpture again!

This is where you come in! If I went back to do ceramics, what would you guys think about commissions for figures and busts of your characters? That would be the most fun for me, honestly. I just dont see many furry sculptors in the fandom so I dont really have a gauge on whether or not something like that is worth it.

Long story short, I was put on new medication and I have been battling my mental illness in terms of getting the motivation to do anything. That and it's also getting close to the end of my SENIOR year of undergrad, which I am super excited for. However, that means that it's crunch time for me in terms of assignments that I have to do. That being said, I am going to temporarily close my commissions until after the end of the semester. I will probably reopen them around early May, and I'll post another journal letting you all know that they're open again.

Has anyone else been feeling stuck lately? Like, I feel really stuck in my art right now, but I can't pinpoint exactly what needs to be improved for me. Or I guess, I don't really know where exactly to start.

I've thought about investing in a new art program, since SAI is feeling outdated to me. I've heard good reviews for Photoshop and Clip Studio (Manga Studio), but I'm not really sure if getting a new art program would really help.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
