I indulge myself with the occasional webcomic, but never really comicbooks and the likes.
yesterday, I sat the entire evening and half the damn night and read through Preacher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preacher_%28comics%29)
all ~1800 pages of it. that not including the extras.
it was good. violent, funny, twisted and spot fucking on.
also, thank you for the well-wishes for my birthday

Story scraps
Posted 14 years agoevery artist has a pile of sketches laying around, never getting to be finished, never getting to be shown to the world.
some artists upload a whole lot of sketches and unfinished work, some times labelled as "WIP" and some times simply saying that the sketch most likely won't get any where further, no matter if they are satisfied with it or not.
I, as a writer, write a-bloody-LOT of scrips, jots and concepts. I have pages and pages of unfinished little snippets of text that I know will just fade into forgetfulness and oblivion.
I could flood them up here, but it feels dumb to put half a page of text into a separate submission and to be fair, the general fiction submission here isn't great or long, so I'd rather attempt to keep quality.
why am I saying this then? well, I dunno, I might make some kind of compilation at some point, an arrangement of snippets for the pleasure of whomever is silly enough to read things that most likely aren't even porn.
either that or some kind of vote & opinion session in where I pick a piece to finish, according to popular vote.
yes, I have the illusion of having that many fans that care.

I'm old enough to have seen a world in which "the internet" was this holy entity that held all the yiff tightly in the fascist claws by the name of VCL and the entity had to be praised by the screeching acolytes of 56k modem shitconnectius blocked phonelineus.
This was a world in which SOMEHOW (by some powers that are beyond me) stuff like TEH FURRY FANDOM got spread as if it was pure gold, passed from one hand, mouth and brain to another.
And believe you me, I live in fucking Sweden, we might speak more English than the Russians and Mexicans but when it comes to having cool shit easily accessible, accepted or generally spread through our population, we're just about out of the stone age.
"We" people over here mop up the social shit other countries are already done with and back then, hell, it wasn't much different.
ANYWAY. ON TOPIC.
I was maybe... 16. Tops. Probably like 15 when I was flung cock-first into the furry fandom. And I don't mean literally cock-first, I was never a huge furry slut. NEVER I SAY. I can count the people I've cyberyiffed on my bloody, amputated stump.
SO THERE I WAS. A furry, in a group of what, 5, maybe 6 young people with a few common interest and I guess nothing better to do. We'd meet up, everyone would draw, the good artists would get something done and the shitty artists (me, etc.) would glare at the good artists skilled shit, CURSING THE DAY ANIME INFLUENCED MY ART.
Can't say I was some kind of active LIFESTYLER or the likes, but I damnwell had furry friends, united by the simple fact that we were all furries.
I was pretty heavy into sub-culture back then and I could judge and easily get pitted against a person just because who they looked like, seemed to be or spoke themselves to be. the alternative scene was a goddamn mess.
AND I DON'T MEAN MESS LIKE EMOS AND HIPSTERS.
But I'll leave it at that.
I've never been to a furcon, I guess we ain't got that much of an organized activity around here but it seems that my furry friends all disappeared and that the only place you find any new furries any more are on the internets.
Do you guys even go outside? I know for a fucking fact that I don't. I hate going outside. or, well, I like going for walks and shit but I more or less fear people.

I feel both good and crap about it, seeing that it took me so much effort. my team just wasn't opted well enough but the game gave little chance to re-do the team just before the elite four, grinding level 40 hariyamas that throw me away with whirlwind all the time isn't my idea of fun.

Posted 14 years agoso.... I guess sporadically downloading shit from all over the place into an over-filled laptop with an expired virus protection is probably not the best long-term idea to keep your computer healthy.
needless to say, I was a bit surprised and distressed when my computer started acting funky.
I attempted to clear it up, restarted and lo and behold; windows does not start and the screen fills with cryptic flashing letters and numbers.
kind of like matrix, just dumber.
cursing and some tears later, I manage to find a linux boot disc that I only have thanks to
Br4wk as he saved me from my last devastating computer-fail.
managing to boot the computer, I spent 3 hours grumbling and cursing at the fact that I can't work around simple shit like write-only and the inability to copy files and create folders on my otherwise seemingly intact drives.
finding out what I was doing wrong, I have spent another 3 hours formatting my loose HDD to a gritty old FAT32 file system, in order to charm Linux with it, so I can get my damn files off the laptop in order to recover/format/re-install it.
the damn thing needed it anyway, but going out with a terrible virus-bang isn't something that will make me feel any good.
formatting is still on and I have many painful hours of copying, fixing and installing ahead of me.
whine, whine, rage, rage.
it's now 05.35 in the morning and I'm unsure if I'll be able to sleep, but I think I have to try.
gladly, I have this shitty and old and rather empty computer to sustain me while I'm fixing the laptop, without it, I'd be in deeper shit.
keep your anti-virus on. updated and vigilant.
and don't download... everything... all the time.

I'm currently writing something that is going fairy well, as usual, but I find myself thinking of certain parts as really damn cheesy.
I know that porn shorts that are between one and five pages will be cheesy by the fact that they simply contain porn and nothing else, but hell, tell me anyway.
I wish to learn.
how cheesy and/or overkill do you find my work, in general or to a point where you can tell me that one of my stories or some moment in a story is just way too dumb/cheesy?

Posted 15 years agofriend randomly mentioned salsa on msn, so i got a craving for nachos/tortillas.
went to the store and bought nachos and a jar of medium-strength salsa.
the salsa is terrible, it tastes like sour ketchup.
i will never buy something less of hot-strength ever again.

Pokemon creepypasta and emotional investment
Posted 15 years agothe other night i had a marvellous nightmare, i noted two words and still recall the terrifying experience rather vividly, i am going to put it down in the written word very, very soon for to vent and give whomever wants to read a slice of my mind.
now, on the subject of nightmares, i have spent most of my waking hours today reading so-called "creepypasta" (obviously derivative of "copypasta")
copied and spread short (or not so short) stories.
the main vein for such things would be 4chan's /x/ (paranormal) board, but i have delved deep into the internets to find creepypasta that were to suit my inspirational needs.
i did not find anything that went into the same vista as the scenes in my head, but matters not.
i stumbled across many a fine story about programming, fake programming or hacked programming of games, things that have gone out to hundreds of thousands or millions of people. things that have been enjoyed by many a man and woman, child and elder.
i read about a Morrowind mod that drove some guy crazy (after an extensive period of time, mind you) and i read about corrupt, freaky shit supposedly in games that we all have played and enjoyed.
i read something that looks like typical legendary 4chan bullshit, namely corrupt, creepy versions of the older pokemon games.
going through all this and spending a good few hours reading hardly anything besides someone's twisted visions of fear, i am left with a feeling and an idea of what seems to frighten "the new generation".
we are no longer simply fascinated by that which is different, in an age of communication where all dark corners of the world have been revealed, we are looking closer and closer to home and within the human mind to find some manner of fright, going into very personal, individual levels of disturbance, all neatly sprinkled with some fear of death and dismemberment.
what i mean is that things as freely available and supposedly innocent (i guess this could be viewed as another branch of "hey, let's make porn of it") as a kid's game, yes, deny it all you want, pokémon is a kid's game. i guess.
anyway, such a thing becomes a perfect target for psychological fear.
what if you did indeed get an old pokemon red copy from your local game store, only to find it weird, twisted and dark when you tried playing it.
what if such a place, a world that is so bright and ultimately positive would crumble under terrible, unrelenting darkness.
reading those stories (for i assume they are indeed works of fiction) i found them to interest me greatly, simply by the joining of two subjects that interest me and that should, would or could not even be joined, but suddenly seemed to be.
it is not the horror in the world of pokemon that was the main idea, just the wicked corruption of something you hold emotional investment in.
and i do not only mean "your" pokemon, i mean the world, everything. something familiar.
this could apply to many things, but the subject right here is pokemon.
speaking of emotional investment, if my pokemon cartridge suddenly tells me "LOPUNNY IS DEAD" and starts playing the music backwards, i will have to burn my DS and all games.
