This is going to be a longer one and a little ranty for me, as well as containing some less than family friendly language, so I'll tldr it at the end.

Let's start with the good news. My insurance went insane and approved a month of therapy and in that time I made some serious strides towards being able to finally get to the point where I could go home. The bad news is way worse though and thus the house of card title. I didn't realize how much things could go poorly so fast because of one little stupid corporate decision...

Basically, my mate lost their job and the economy is total pants right now for jobs, so they are on unemployment. It's not enough to cover all the bills and so we are slowly bleeding cash. Eventually we're going to lose the house and they will probably have to move back in with their parents who live in another state. It's less than ideal, since it leaves me alone. It's a shitty plan, but it's the only one we will have at that point.

Oh, and the stupid issues with my surgery are STILL loitering around. They are doing one last 'this will totes fix it!' thing, but it's going to be another month at least before I even find out if it works. The upcoming possibly cuts to medicade and such have me worried, since it's already terrible and I might even suddenly not qualify anymore despite being completely disabled until I can at least get in and out of bed on my own. It's just one bullshit thing after another.

tldr I am not hopeful my health issues will be solved, I'll be able to go home, or that I'll even have a home much longer. FML.

It looks like I'm FINALLY getting a break. I had a successful surgery and am healing up nicely, so all that mess is finally fixed. I've got a wheelchair coming that I can putter around in until I get back on my feet...I'm not going to know what to do without having to be on antibiotics and this nasty protein stuff to aid in healing.

I have an idea kicking around in my head that's been bugging me for years. Anyone know a good animator that is reliable and willing to take on a decent sized project? It would likely be several minutes of animation by the end of the project.

Well, I started healing up after the surgery, but it started doing the same thing. Turns out the surgeon didn't do some stuff he didn't 'need' to. Yeah...about that. Ugh, get to try and schedule another round of this mess. I really just wanna go home, it's been way too long since I got to be there.

Well, I had to have surgery to fix an issue cause from the initial surgery and they didn't do what they said they would and then skimped on the stitches. Long story short, one popped and now I get to go back to get it redone. Two days of fairly bad pain and several of a dull ache for nothing.

At this rate I wish I had the stuff to just redo it myself, but I'm too lazy to try and work around my boobs. ^_^

Well, my insurance has decided it makes more sense to pay indefinitely for me to stay in a rehab facility than it does to fork over the extra so I can get better and leave. Until the do, I'm basically on my own and having to do what therapy I can by myself. On the bright side, I finally got some issues fixed and as soon as the stitches come out, I'm down to JUST dealing with getting my legs working again.

Seriously though, that makes no sense. Yeah, it's extra, but the prognosis is good for me getting back on my feet...but they want to just keep paying less forever I guess?

One side took more nerve damage than the other for whatever reason, and occupational therapy kept being jerks and I refused too many times, so they quit seeing me. Thankfully, my physical therapist rocks and helped with that too. Ironically, I was chatting about my Switch and they told me it was good therapy for my hand. Turns out they weren't joking. I've come a long way towards getting function and feeling back in my one hand to the point where short of fine manipulations, it works just fine. Fingers crossed, a thing I can do now, that my legs start getting with the program just as fast!

Well, still struggling with insurance stuff that has come up that's keeping me from getting some things fixed. Turns out the original surgeon made some mistakes that need to be fixed, but he won't do it. Long story short, trying to get it handled. I also got put on a exercise machine the other day that worked my legs hard. It was fantastic, I semi-walked .3 miles over about 16 minutes...I paid for it for about three days after that. Very angry dwagin legs. :P

Well, I've started hitting therapy pretty regularly and I'm standing up. It's still a long road to go, but from what they are telling me is that it's going to start progressing faster now. I hesitate to say it, but I think things are slowly starting to line up and come around so I can get back to my life.

Well, it happened again. Therapy started looking good and things went pear-shaped. Someone here messed up and gave me Covid, plus I have another infection under the incision, so this time they are hitting it hard with surgery instead of just a battery of antibiotics. So, my getting out of here is delayed even longer. It's getting really hard to put up with all this. It's been almost two years now since I got to sleep in my own bed, or anything else but hurt and try to heal.

It's been slow going, but I'm doing my rehab as hard as I can. Rebuilding muscle and doing my best to get the nerve damage to heal so things work properly. Progress is slow, but I'm getting there...legs are actually starting to respond and with a little luck I get to start the painful, but exciting process of getting them in walking shape.

Love to everyone worried about me. There's a fancy way to say it, but basically my aorta exploded. 20% chance on the high side of living through it and I died four times, but I managed to pull through. I was unconscious for almost two months, so had muscle atrophy on top of the nerve damage from blood getting to my nerves. I'm out of the hospital and in a rehab center, but thanks to some incompetence on their part, my recover has been slowed down. I'll try to keep you lovely people posted, but for now I'm just slowly healing. It's nice just to be able to sorta use both hands again. :p

Well, another year goes by and I still don't feel any wiser. Ahh, well...what can you do?

Ever made a big, epic post that would change everything...and then just deleted it, because it wouldn't really change anything? Yeah...that's my day. I genuinely hope everyone out there is doing alright in these times, even the people who might agree that we need to sacrifice people to grease the wheels of capitalism. I think you are horrible, ignorant monsters...but I don't want you to get sick or die.

God help me, even the people I should hate, I can't.

Stuff keeps going sideways and I keep finding excuses to drag things out. I wanted to wait till I got that picture done to start my story, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen beyond a semi-done rough color I got. Thankfully, I haven't paid for anything yet, so I guess that's good. RL being a total dork off and on too. At least today is supposed to be a normal schedule and I'll hopefully at least get to recover a little from all the crazy. On a side note, multiple injuries in the same time span suck. :p

Well, the game has gone off now without any sort of issues, so it's just a matter of getting some logs and getting off my butt to get things rolling in terms of story shenanigans. Should be a fun time. :)

Well, looks like that Ponyfinder game is on path to go off finally and I've even got a friend doing some art of my character so I won't be using a random, generic picture off the internet. Woo! I'm going to post it here when I get a copy and then start a little story series based off said character's backstory and wacky shenanigans from then on out to sort of try and get going again with writing...to heck with the lack of responses I get. I wanna do this particular story.

Well, we had some rather toxic players that wanted some things and when the GM didn't do it arguments started up and eventually, the night before the game, they ended up leaving and bringing a friend with them.

I apologize for this being so big, it's probably going to be one of the larger entries I've ever done. :p

I was recently playing a dinky, but fun little free to play game I found and someone stole from my farm. If someone is on your friends list, they can literally come in and take whatever you have planted, getting a percentage of it and leaving a percentage for you. In this case it was plants that were just for money. Now, I pointed out that was a sort of a jerk move and that it would cost them all the goodies friends can share, XP in various areas, farm leveling faster, and event goodies...

The response I got was that it was just a little bit of money, I also lose all those things from them, and that it's just a game.

Let's break that down for a moment then shall we?

First of all, if it's just a little bit of money, the inverse is also true. THEY got just a small amount of money, so why do it at all? That's a question no one ever seems to want to answer.

The second point they made is flawed from the standpoint that I don't MIND losing those things from someone who I don't like. I do not like thieves, especially since they have to be a 'friend' to do it. You don't steal from people, much less friends.

Lastly...the real gem here. It's just a game. There's layers to this one, so let's work through them. Games are just for fun. Everyone should know that. However, if you are doing something that negatively impacts someone's fun...that's a jerk move. Well, it's just a game so there aren't any consequences. This is also true...except if the only reason you aren't stealing from people is the consequences, that doesn't make it okay. That makes you a horrible person.

I'm sure I missed a point on that last one there, since I was all distracted, but I just wanted to throw this up and get my two cents on the board as it were. :p

Well, my life MAY be going back to something resembling normal this week. I'm getting things wrapped up and seem to be alright to manage the fun new debt I picked up. It looks like the game I was going to use as inspiration for wacky kobold adventure stories is on point to start over on Roll20, so I will be able to start writing some here and there at the start of December with a little luck. Probably post the first bit leading in to it before the game starts up though.

Bleh...all the major stuff was at least as taken care of as it could be, so I thought things were leveling out. Well, then my darn crock pot dies, which is annoying, but I'll live...and just a bit ago I got a call. Seems my dad's health has taken a turn for the worse to the point where they are FINALLY done dorking around and are scrambling to try and get him in for surgery to fix the issue finally next week instead of sometime after Thanksgiving. That last part is good, but not the part about how bad he's gotten thanks to all the delays and the fact they don't think he'll get BETTER, just stop getting worse. I really hope they are wrong and I also hope this doesn't end in a few months with me homeless. Seriously, did I pee in fate's Wheaties and forget about it somehow?!
