General | Posted 12 years agoSo, back from FCN. Thanks to those that came to listen to my DJ-sona djteddyb or sent me positive vibes at the dead dog. Time to add that to my resume :P
I gave
pkmotors some much needed snuggles :3 (much needed for me!) Finally met the car foxes 
harperthecarfox & 
jakethefoxy They have excellent taste in music.

sciencefun in the elevator first thing in the morning right at the start of the convention was a nice surprise XD

Anime Detour was this past weekend. It's like I don't even watch anime anymore X3 Still have Hetalia Season 3 unfinished and am 50-100 episodes behind on naruto shippuuden and 50 episodes behind on polar bear cafe (the best show ever btw). I picked up a lot of non-anime related things. I would also recommend the Hot Chili Oil flavored Ramune if you haven't had it before. Yum! Also Green Tea Pocky.

NeeviCon! 4/5/13 to 4/7/13 -- Please plan as you see fit

I wasn't sure if it would happen. The reason being that I've been hearing through the rumor mill about the things that happen at NeeviCon, and I am not liking what I hear. It is my understanding that the vast majority of RRVF's reading this know what I am referring to. As with any rumor, I have to come to a personal conclusion as to what the truth is... somewhere between absolute falsehood and total embellishment... and to move on from there. Also, the feeling that I was the last to know is not a good one. What I had hoped would be a lovefest has a reputation of being a gropefest. What is a panda to do?
Talking to individuals, it seems in spite of all the rumors, a NeeviCon is still desired. And I believe that bringing folks together and giving new folks an opportunity to meet up is worth forging on against the stigma NeeviCon has been stuck with.
I guess I'll go on to add that I have no feelings of hate towards anyone. There is no reason to be. We are all adults and are responsible for our own actions. I don't think what other people do should reflect on how I am perceived. Moving forward, hopefully this journal will make things clear regarding the behavioral expectations. Once broken, trust is difficult to repair.
So, if you still want to come after reading all that, here is the information:
NeeviCon will be a dry convention. Keep your alcohol at home and keep your semen to yourself. Moving forward, I don't want to have to tell someone to leave and not to come to future NeeviCons.
When: Friday April 4/5/13 8 PM to Sunday 4/7/13 until you have to leave (or 6 PM)
Where: Detroit Lakes, MN
What: ??? Movies, games, fellowship, suiting? I am still looking around for places to go. Hopefully the weather will be decent.
**IMPORTANT** Overnight parking has changed. You are no longer allowed to park on the streets overnight. You will get a ticket. There is a designated area of spots (currently under a large mountain of snow -.- ) in the parking lot by Jimmy John's. I have a diagram if needed. Hopefully, there will not be a shortage of spots and the snow will all be melted. Maybe post here if you can offer rides or if you are in need of a carpool to join.
If people want to bring fancy video games, that would be an option. I have nothing more advanced than a PS2
Perhaps I can DJ this con so I can put it on my resume. It's looking pretty sparse. Will need someone to flip the lightswitch off and on during the rave. Any volunteers?
I plan to purchase the Lunch/Dinner on Saturday (either Jimmy John's again or pizza again). For the other days, there's also a good amount of places within walking distance. Way better than at MFF --ZING! If people want to bring food or beverage, that is not required but always welcome.
If you plan to stay the night, maybe bring a pillow and sleeping bag or something. I have my bed and a few air mattresses and the usual limited floor space. There are also satellite hotels that do not have any deals. AmericInn is 1.3 miles away & Holiday Inn is 1.8 miles away. I stayed at the AmericInn a few years back and I didn't get any weird rashes afterwards.
If you plan to bring something/anything, mention it here so others are aware.
Let me know if/when you can come so I can figger out how many people I am working with.

General | Posted 13 years agoI'm still here. I was in the ditch on the side of the road for a couple hours, chilling in the snow. No harm no foul. Got the sexy panda discount from the tow truck driver who pulled me out.
Seems like since November even, I haven't been on Skype much. I guess I'm all grown up. I have a long list of things to do at work and at home. Seems like no matter what I do, the length of the list remains the same. So when I want to get things done, I don't allow myself to sign on :V

Trying to figure out NeeviCon after the snow melts, somewhere between FCN and Anime Detour and magic tournaments, and fitness training/tests, and educational assignments... While still giving enough advanced notice for those road warriors out there.

General | Posted 13 years agoAfter this past weekend, another successful NeeviCon is in the books. New record attendance: 14 (if you count the cameos) and new record length. Friday 8 PM - Sunday 8 PM
It was nice to see some new faces attend as well ^_^
I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Please let me know what you liked, what you didn't like, what you think could have been done differently, suggestions for next time, etc.
