Happy spring! I hope ye all have been well, I wanted to gauge the interest on this shower thought I had the other night for art sponsorships!

What it is:
The idea is that people can donate towards any personal WIPs I have (fanart & originals) that they want to see me finish. Commissions & adoptables will not be in the sponsorship program.

Unlike the Patreon, which is a generalized subscription, sponsors get to pick the artwork they want to fund as a one-time donation. Besides credits, sponsors will receive the full res (3-4K px) version of the final art as thanks. As this is a collective effort, you get something regardless if it's just $1 in the pot.

As for why?
Something I miss a lot from my younger days has been the sense of freely sharing things I like through art and finding community via other people who are into the same fandom or themes. As skill improves, finished work takes more time, and (as a responsible adult) I have to prioritize living expenses.

I'm still gonna make my own art regardless for the public, but I see it as a way to open the floor for those who want to see me not take 87 years to draw a Pokemon lmao. I want to build this in a way that is sustainable especially for people who are not in the best place for subscriptions or commissions.

I'll take some time to sit on it since I want to clear out my commission queue some more first and these things take time to set up anyway. Thoughts and suggestions are open!

Shower thoughts aside, life's been busy but going OK! I'm still kicking around in blue collar work these days, got promoted pretty quickly and now I'm taking textile classes to be an inspector which is why I'm pretty quiet these days. Unexpected trajectory but such is life! In terms of lighter news, started watching Gundam Wing with no context (after finishing G Gundam) which is certainly a kick with vintage anime-isms and things that would absolutely not be OK in this decade ahaha.

I quietly discontinued doing any sort of commission waitlist, reservation, pings years ago due to the excessive amounts of ghosting once I reached out to people - it just ended up burning too much time. I've been cooking up a solution at the meantime and thankfully came to this.

No FA? Will you add other sites for pings?
I am open to the suggestion of new sites so long as they support being able to mass notify people in 1 message and ideally a way to filter posts. Unfortunately FA doesn't have that feature and I am back to square one - copypasting individual messages was what I used to do and it still ate a lot of time if the response rate is low.

We have spoken before, will you import me onto the new list?
I highly recommend adding yourself onto the new list if you are still interested in getting work from me. I personally find it intrusive to fuck with people's contact information without their consent. My rates have changed, personal circumstances & interests can change, especially after a couple years so it just seems better to purge my notes and start fresh.

I have only a few (enough to count on 1 hand) who have corresponded in the past year who I will personally reach out to since we have arranged plans on when and what to address. To those individuals, don't worry, I haven't tossed you out.

So does that mean you're opening comms more? Where are you at?
Commissions will still be opened when I'm able to so it's still rather inconsistent. Job-wise, I've returned to a blue collar job and animation studio / contract stuff while squeezing in my active comms. Being pulled between 3 jobs, it's even more important for me to rest well these days since I do risky physical labor.

Since I've been exploring adoptable designs in the past years, I will also be looking to offer YCH commissions in the future to have a little more availability and diversify from 100% custom work.

So I only really had the energy to yell about it on Twitter, but I got COVID in November and was out for a couple months since I had a really nasty reaction to it. Everyone I knew who got it said it was like a cold / flu, but it was a full immune system meltdown on me.. grisly stuff ]:

That aside, just wanted to give a quick update to say hi given my longer than anticipated absence.
I'm planning to take the plunge in leaving my day job to return to art full time. Having some time to mull over stuff while I was out sick, as well as some less than desirable changes in the management, is making me look towards greener pastures. It won't be until the summer due to some paperwork shenanigans though, so it's more like getting the boxes packed to leave haha.

I'm looking forward to regaining some energy again when I don't need to work double shifts all the time and will be re-approaching things with some additional safety nets. And most importantly, really get the ball rolling on my comic. So if there's new OC profiles and stuff popping up & dusting off social sites that's why [:

Due to the amount of time since my last reopening, there have been some rules and changes in place, detailed below:

I am still honoring this perk for former patrons due to the last slot opening being some time ago. Newcomers pledging the $5 tier are ineligible for this round. A separate opening for everyone will be made if my schedule permits, after assessing this current workload & other obligations.

If we need to discuss the commission in detail via email / DM I will do so after the initial contact through the form.

> Due to significant changes, it is highly recommended to review the pricing as adjustments have been made. These are the main ones:
- Icons, Cel shaded, Full Shaded, Model Sheets, & Character Designs have had their prices adjusted due to labor & demand.

- All works are priced on a per-character basis.
(ie. 2 characters = double price, 3 characters = triple price, etc.)
Prices will be adjusted accordingly if the extra character is only partially visible.

- Illustration and Sketch commissions with no character reference will have a concept sketch fee starting at $60, increasing for more complex designs.

So What Happened? (Reason for the changes)
I don't think I can reopen commissions without addressing the elephant in the room: that is, the mass delay since my last opening.

COVID trashing the planet aside (and almost getting some scuffles with it myself), it mostly came down to a physical burn out from taking commissions and non-fandom freelance work on a full time basis. Being a full time artist is deceptively easy. What seems like a job that is: get $$$ + passion + draw = profit spiraled into a 2 year nightmare of weird taxes, 12+ hours of sitting for my job, sudden crunch deadlines, disputing overdue invoices & garnished wages, etc.

I found myself in a situation where I was underpaid for the work I had to do and developed a permanent disability from the stress and constant job grinding that slowed down production. That was completely on me for not calling it out and pulling the stops earlier.
Despite recurring expenses, I knew better than to cave in to demand & dig a hole by taking way more work than I can handle for quick cash: It's a story I've seen too often online and I was hellbent to not to be a part of that.

Pandemic slowdowns and my day job has given me time to come around with the work I owed and reassess things; my skill, self worth, & coming to grips with being permanently ill. I've decided a price change and some fairer policies towards myself to ease the cost of living was in order. I will be continuing to change & try new things so I have a balanced workload that I can consistently handle. As I get them implemented, I hope that I need not go on long hiatuses again and continue to draw for many years to come.

Once this line is cleared, I will no longer be using the waitlist system. Commissions will be taken on a firm open / close basis, with Patreon providing an opportunity to claim slots early.

Hello my dear furs!
I hope 2019 has been kind to you all thus far. There's been lots of new faces coming in all throughout 2018 as some posts really snowballed so hi! <3

After a little over a year of freelancing full time, I've learned a lot of things (good and bad) and gotten involved in the development of some long term projects. While I am able to cover my important expenses (thanks frugality and coupon clipping) I want to make this profession more sustainable, so expect some future dabbling into things like adopts, YCHS, and maybe even local con tabling.. 👀

After a year or two of stalling, it's finally up! Signal boosts are greatly appreciated, I have a post on Twitter that can be spread around if you feel inclined~

Right now I only have 1 tier, for a $1 a month, but you're free to contribute as much or as little as you like. I'm using it show behind-the-scenes stuff like WIPs of art I'm currently making and process images of completed works. Patrons can also suggest old pictures of mine that they would like to see process sets for too. I intend to expand this later on to include more things like art requests, sketchbook work, and the like, down the road. I'm currently focusing on tackling the last of my active commission queue before letting my Patreon go in full bloom; it will be announced when the day comes.

With regards with upcoming commissions: after this final batch is done, I will be contacting people who have been wait listed in chronological order to confirm if they still want their spots. Those who have chosen to pay in advance will automatically proceed forward.

From here on out, I'll be working commissions in batches of about 5 or 6, since I seem to fare better in that system rather than having a list that builds up due to wait listed clients or otherwise. ;; So once this line is cleared, I will do more frequent openings and (hopefully!) continue to grow my work output compared to the previous year.

Something to pull that really grim journal off my page LOL. I'm doing alright in that regard. /o/

So UH yeah just to keep things brief, I've mostly been chugging along at school. I'm currently in my final semester of uni, senior thesis is kind of kicking my butt. As well as freelance work I've gotten IRL to support myself at the meantime since my seasonal job of ~5 years is gone; and I'm 10000% not cool with spending money people have entrusted me for commissions that aren't done. ;;

Thank you to everyone who's been bearing with me on the lag. Since everything's done in May, I'll definitely catch up to speed then. :>

Otherwise, I'm both excited and nervous about graduating and entering the ~ *REAL WORLD* ~

There's a lot of projects ready to fly out after graduation ranging from working on webcomics, to going into the sculpture business with my boyfriend, and this start-up studio that I'm a part of. It may not be as orthodox as being employed at an in-house studio but heckie I have faith it'll get somewhere!!! (ง •̀_•́)ง

Mostly a fill in to why I haven't been doing much through the month.

My grandmother's health had been declining rapidly since her injury in January, which left her unable to walk. Despite my family efforts to keep her healthy, and hiring a home aide, her condition kept getting poorer. She was hospitalized at the end of June and passed in the beginning of July.

We've finished the funeral service last week, so I'm back to my usual routine. As much as I'd like to have a longer break to sort out some feelings, I am behind on senior thesis (first deadline is in August) - That and the remaining commission are taking first priority.

I'm sorry for not talking much outside of my job and things are taking longer than expected to be done. Thank you to everyone who has been patient with me during these times.

In the way of life updates, I've been out of school since the beginning of May and mostly working to finish off my commission backlog.
Unfortunately I've been hit with a bit of a dicey financial situation, senior thesis and some personal issues. I've hit some lows early in the month but I'm getting things up again, it'll definitely be a busy summer getting everything sorted out. 3:

So ever since FA came out of the attack there's been a lot of noise about another mass exodus of sorts. In my case, I'll be refiring my Weasyl account ( https://www.weasyl.com/~neganeon ) to at least be in sync with the rest of my galleries, in addition I will be making a FurryNetwork as another backup - ( https://beta.furrynetwork.com/neganeon/ ). I hesitated to make one largely due to the cub art, but since they have recently banned it on their site, I'll give it a chance.

I will continue to upload on FA, but if anyone else wishes to leave for good or the site gets some downtime, I'll be around!
