I, am now a DJ. In the midst of my art slump, I finally got my computer working well enough to get FL studio running. After a few days of searching for cracks, here I am, with a few shitty techno tracks for you to let your ears bleed with.

Bah Humbug
Posted 16 years agoYes, yes, its true, Neko finally has internet at home once again!
But in exchange, she no longer has a working cell phone (thank you Wolfie for not paying the bill). But aside from that, I am here but in a bit of a predicament.
I've recently discovered that along with the power cable for my scanner going missing, my ability to create art has gone along with it. I got a new 35mm professional camera.... only to waste 4 rolls of film to discover that something inside the camera is busted and is overexposing all my film. So Im out about $200 there if I dont find a replacement soon.
Like I said, art phail. Ive been picking up the pencils and pens and paints every day to no avail. Its as if my art has completely abandoned me. :/ I'll keep trying, but until I find my muse again, I dont know whats going to happen.
It also seems that my fiancee has finally got his band up and going. Theyre called Dismantling Tomorrow and you should totally check them out on myspace, even though the fiancee has become a pretentious prick as of late. OH WELL.
I hope every one is having a Blessed holiday season and I hope Santa brings you all a nice shiny new dildo for Xmas. :3

But yea, now that that's out of my system I thought I'd take the time to talk about my latest projects. Duck Tape. Yes. Duck Tape. I've recently rediscovered the wonders of it and have gotten into making some pretty awesome shiz with it. Take for instance a purse. Very Harijuku/Lolita, made entirely of neon Duck Tape. I'll be working out some designs for shirts and dolls too, even! Posted 16 years agoMan its been a long while since I've posted anything. And for that I appologize. The reason for my absence? My phone was off for about 2 solid months, and those of you who didn't know, my phone is my only source for interwebs.
I've been in a bit of an art dry spell. Everything I start turns to absolute shit lately and it sucks more than a little. But there was a ray of hope glimmering last night! It seems my love of Pokemon has resurfaced in the form of pokemon on human raeps. Lulz. For the past few months I've had an idea in my head for a story, and whenever I finally set my computer back up I'll begin writing... With pictures!!
Anyhoo, Halloweens up and coming and I'm excited. But, I can't decide what to do this year... I need suggestions.

3: I've been a type one Juvenile diabetic since I was 7. I've had a lot of problems lately with it due to my insulin pump fucking up... So I'm on at least 5 injections a day now.
4: I got a nurses number the last time I was in the hospital, because I'm pimp like that.

6: I only want to ever have two kids. That's it. After that I'm DONE.
7: I do not hate my future in-laws. I FEAR them. Few of them are mentally sane, and few of them like me. None know the meaning of self-control.

Posted 16 years agoSo I was at the ER at 2 in the morning getting stitches and a tetnaus shot. Whoo for me!
And the full version is this on how it happened: It was like 1am, and I was chillin with Wolfie and his cousin Justin. I was hungry seeing as I hadn't eaten for like 14 hours so I made a little microwave meal that wasn't enough. So I had just bought lemons which are like my favorite little thing to get my sour fix. I get out a lemon and a knife to cut it with. The knife didn't even have a pointed end, just a semi sharp edge that was good for fruits and shiz. I had nowhere to cut it but in my hand. Simple enough right? I'd done it a million times before... But I dunno how, but the lemon slipped halfway through the cut and sent the knife toward and therein THROUGH my finger. It wasn't until I screamed FUCK that Wolfie figured something happened... So as I'm wimpering in pain begging him to get a towel as I bled profusely into the sink he thinks its something little and says that he didn't think we had any bandaids left. I told him bandaids wouldn't cut it. He then asked to see it. Heh. So I drip blood halfway through the apartment and show him. He grabs his keys, gets me a wet cloth to hold on it, and the next minute we're doing 90mph down the road on the way to the ER.
Lol. Fun, no?

For the past two months every bit of my check from work has gone in to this damned place, or bills that keep piling up for Wolfie. Oh, did I mention I'm the only one with a job now too? But that's okay, they cut me down to 22 fucking hours a week.
Needless to say we're pretty fucked right now. We're neck deep in bills, Wolfies probably going to lose his truck and we're scraping together change and borrowed money to keep the baby fed.
So if anyone wants to donate... Be it money or a carepackage, please, let me know. Note me or something while I still have my phone... Because that's probably going to get cut off soon. *sigh*

Hey everyones...
So a bit of news and whatnot.
First of all... NEKO GOT HER FIRST REAL ART JOB!!! WHOOOO!!!!!!!!!
What is she doing? Well, shes going to be stepping WAAAAAAAAY out of her comfort zone and drawing... A COMIC. DUN DUN DUUUUN. And not just any comic, no... But a superhero comic in her anime-ish style. o.o
I know guys, Im scared too. Right now Wolfie's working out writing the contract up for me so we can be all legally bound with it and then Ill start the real work. Im getting paid $50 up front, for the cover art and then we'll see how everything goes. Ill also be working for 25% profits on the comic. Right now Im not going to give out any details on what its about or anything, BUT, I will be showing my fur off at a couple of cons Ill be paid to go to with the comic owner. :D And I has me a free booth at our local comic shop for free comic book day. So once again, anyone in the Bristol area, please stop by at Mountain Empire in May and you can meet me in furson. Lol. Fur.
In other news. Today Im probably going to the hospital.
Ive got a nasty bump on my wrist that needs some looking at. Not to go into details about it, but something might have to get LAZERED out. I liek lazerz.

I know a lot of you hate it, but Im working to try and make some special V-day cards to my close DA friends. >.> So dont bitch about the holiday, I still luff you all. *superhugs all around*
In other news... Almost done (at the time of writing this) with the 7 piece collection done for Wolfie for the up and coming holiday. Phew. Im already exhausted... I start a piece at 5am and dont stop until Im finished... And thats anywhere between 1-8 hours from then. -_- Just three more to finish by Saturday. I hope I can do it.
Now on to the other news this journal was originally intended for...
I wanna know something.

Posted 17 years agoFinally, at long last, the Neko, is home...
Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement during my time away. Yes, I was in the hospital for almost three full weeks before returning home with my little boy.
So Im sure a lot of you are wanting to know what exactly happened to lead to him being born 6 weeks before his estimated due date. Well... let me explain...
So January 2nd I was scheduled for a relatively routine doctors visit with Dr. Hall. It was scheduled rather close to my last one for the simple fact that he needed a 24 hour urine collection and was a little concerned because my blood pressure was a bit higher than it had been running in all my previous visits. Not ten minutes into my appointment, I found myself back in a room hooked up to a fetal monitor for twenty minutes before Dr. Hall came back and said that I needed to go labor and delivery and they were expecting me. No explanation, no clarification. Just: Go to Labor and Delivery at the Bristol hospital, they're expecting you.
So I went. There I sat... and waited... and answered the same string of questions repeatedly because the staff there at the Bristol hospital is horrible and more than likely 90%+ retarded. It sucked. The whole while I was hooked back up to the fetal monitor, wondering what the hell was going on. FINALLY, after about 2-3 hours, Dr. Hall comes in to explain what was going on. Apparently, I had a condition known as Preacclampsia. I had no idea what all would happen the entire time through because none of my doctors seemed to want to tell me what all COULD happen. Apparently it was much worse than they let it off to be. Basically though, Dr. Hall explained that the preacclampsia could put baby Alex through stress because of my elevated blood pressure that would not go down. My urine revealed another sign of this condition because of my high protein levels, over 10 times what they should have been. So, with that all said and done, I was told I wouldnt be leaving the hospital until I delivered, but because Bristol didnt have the facilities I needed, I was due in for a hospital ride all the way down to Kingsport, to Holston Valley Medical.
Thats where I lost most of my mind for a while. They originally told me I woul dbe there for 2-5 weeks until I delivered. Apparently Alex had other plans. With bloodwork done every day, blood pressures every hour, and fetal monitor every 3 hours, it didnt take long for them to get alarmed. By my second night in the hospital, they noticed my blood platelets were dropping... and fast. The morning of the 6th they were awaiting bloodwork to determine what to do. After getting word that my levels were down to the point that I could bleed to death if I waited any longer, I was scheduled for the very next c-section, bumping everyone else scheduled back.
So, at 10:21am, Alex gave his first cry and the birth time was announced. Even at 6 weeks early, little Alexander Kevin Schurtz was 8 pounds, 2.1 ounces, 20.5 inches long, with a head circumference of a little over 13 inches. I later learned that I can never deliver vaginally either. According to the doctors, due to where my cervix lies in my body, I could have suffocated him had I tried. Not to mention my induction could have taken 3 days, and there wasnt the time to spare for that...
I saw him once before they wheeled me away. My mom and dad had come in from Charlotte the night before to make sure they were there on time for his birth. Thankfully they had made it in time.
Two weeks later Alex and I finally got to leave the damned hospital. After watching him move from being hooked up to a dozen machines to only a few, to just a feeding tube, then to none... It was a long, treacherous journey that I dread having to face again if I ever have another baby.
But I cannot deny that it was all worth it.
These past three days I've been home with my little boy, I can say have all been truly blessed. I love my little angel more than words can describe, and having his father here with me has made this even more of a joy to me. Never before have I known such love. Never before have I known such joy. Yes, it is a long road ahead of me... Yes, its not going to be easy, but yes, it was all worth it to have my little boy.
Once again, everyone, thank you. Its great to finally be home and get to respond to everyone again. I've missed you guys, but now you know why I've been away.

Posted 17 years agoIll keep this short and go into further detail later. But for those of you wondering where the hell ive been for the past 2 weeks, just lettin you know, ive been in the hospital. Why? Well to cut a long story short somethings happened and i had to have an emergency c-section on the 6th. So january 6th 2009 my little boy Alexander Kevin Schurtz was born at 10:21am. He was 4-6 weeks early but healthy and born at 8pounds 2.1 ounces. Ill be in the hospital a few more days still until they release my little boy but dont worry, everythings ok and ill be back soon enough. :3

Since Ive been back Ive gotten scarcely any time online or much less to draw.
Sucky suckness is sucky.
I know.
I still have yet to finish my final XXXmas image, and I am sorely disappointed in myself for that. -_- Ugh.
At least I have Harvest Moon now for my DS. And Okami for the PS2.
And finally Im down to needing only like 5 more things for the baby (which will be due sometime between Jan 22nd and 29th so far as we know right now!).
I go die now.

This weekend... I'm going to be in Charlotte, NC, chillin with my old homies and shiz.

Fursuiting Woes

Yea.
I actually started on my fursuit... Kinda...
Im trying to make a form-fitting fursuit, but... Its hard to find the kind of material a long-furred kitty needs in stretchy fabric with more of a texture to it than pantyhose. ;_;
Ive started construction of my tail, which is actually working out well.
And if you've seen my more recent photo: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1797234/ , Ive got the ears pretty much figured out. Im going to make another set that will go on my fursuit head. Which is anothe rpart of my woes...
I have no idea how to sculpt foam, or even begin putting together the pieces for the head. Nor can I figure out what I would use to make the hot pink hair work. :/
Every site I look at, has examples of work in progress, but otherwise is no help, since they want money to build your suit for you. -_-
So can anyone offer me any help or suggestions?

Building my fursuit

Im tired of waiting.
Its time I started on my fursuit.
Luckily though, the design I have in mind is mostly a lot of items kinda pieced together and then a few custom made pieces added on.
The custom piece is going to be the mouth piece that I want to be able to move. A little kitty-maw of sorts to work with that I can thread some stiff-ish whiskers through. If you have any tips or tutorials I can look at, please help.
